A lil guide to why you're not identifying with your natal chart
I've been thinking of writing this post for a few years now because this is one of the most common issues that people have when studying their charts and I feel like there's a lot of misconception around the topic sooooo I hope I can give you guys some ideas.
BIAS
As simple as that, people often have issues with taking a step back and really thinking about their life in relation to their charts. This is why astrology consultations (as opposed to reports) are often more advised. For most people, the way they are and the way their lives are is "normal", especially when we talk about things that are correlated with upbringing and culture. But also, your everyday life.
Just to give an example, I was once studying zodiacal releasing of my sister and I told her "seems like your peak period lasted from your childhood up to your late teens". She rolled her eyes and said that if that was her peak period then her life's a failure. But let me tell you how her teens went: she was super popular, everyone had a crush on her, one of her tattoos got an award at an international tattoo convention, she was one of the best dancers in her ballet school, she also has a brief history of being a metal singer and kind of by pure chance performed at Poland's Woodstock (now Pol'and'Rock - if you know, you know). I am probably missing something but my point is: she cannot look objectively at her life, for her that's just a normal teenage experience. But also, sometimes people's current aspirations often don't align with their past aspirations so when they look back, most events seem bland to them. And that is the case for a lot of folks.
Everyone has that friend who's always like: "I'm nothing special blehhh" and you just sit there and think of all their talents and accomplishments and just scratch your head. Or that person who always complains about having no money, yet they can live comfortably and can afford most of the things they want. And this goes for everything: talents, personality traits, home life and so on…
Remember, often times it's hard to really take a look at yourself in the mirror. And even if you do, you still see a flipped version of yourself.
MISINFORMATION, SIMPLIFICATION AND STEREOTYPES
I think this is a big one. And especially if your source of knowledge comes from the internet. When you learn about the signs and their characteristics, it's crucial to understand the nuances - and people pretty much always forget about it.
Every sign can have a certain trait: being driven is not exclusive to Aries, being sensual is not exclusive to Taurus, being talkative is not exclusive to Gemini and so on - it's all about the motives and the background of when and how that trait manifests.
For example, sure, one of the negative traits of Taurus is stubborness - because it's an earth sign and it's fixed. But Taurus is more than that, it's not just a one-ingredient sign. No sign is a one-ingredient sign. MOST people will be stubborn in some way: Aries will be stubborn if you won't let them do what they want, Gemini will be stubborn if you try to undermine their ideas and say they're wrong, Cancer will be stubborn about their grievances or about holding on to things tried and trusted and so on…
REMEMBER (and I want this plastered everywhere): no sign has the monopoly for anything. This goes the other way around: just because a Virgo was rude towards you, doesn't mean all Virgos will be rude towards you. NOT ALL *INSERT SIGN*.
Everything has a spectrum and everything has its place. Most Aries Suns are not full of anger and toughness all the time but maybe they love video games and they don't even realize that they're relieving their negative feelings by shooting everyone in Call of Duty? Or their job requires some martian energy, movement and discipline? Or they're very protective over the opressed ones and they're not afraid to fight for them when needed?
(And so yes, you probably do have that trait you claim you don't have in a certain context).
ASPECTS TO THE PLANETS AND OTHER INFLUENCES
"I don't feel like an Aries Sun", says a person with a Saturn square to their Sun, a Mars in Pisces and a Taurus rising. Well, first of all, I can guarantee you that you do act like an Aries in some ways but second of all - if your fiery and bold passionate lil heart is dimmed and harassed by Saturn, your Sun's dispositor is in a dreamy and passive Pisces and your Sun is in the 12th house AND on top of that, that slow Taurus rising is really clashing with cardinal Aries, then yes, this can make sense.
What can block or drastically alter a planet's infuence? Squares and oppositions, a contrasting stellium in another sign or house, sometimes being unaspected or occupying a house that is in aversion to other important points in the chart (so it's inconjunct), especially to the 1st house - you won't "see" your planets if they're in the 2nd, 6th, 8th or 12th house. Alternatively and interestingly, a planet (or more) occupying the 1st house may infuence and distort your view of things where you may not feel or seem to others like a "typical" exponent of your sign. Good example was when people weren't believing Halsey that she's a Scorpio rising - and with a stellium in her 1st house I don't blame them - her persona is influenced by Mercury, Venus and Jupiter, which is a pretty eclectic mixture.
HOUSE PLACEMENTS AND WHAT PLANETS "BELONG" TO
Not every planet talks about you because not every house talks about you. I've done two huge articles on house meanings and you can check them out here: PART 1 & PART 2, but to quickly sum them up:
1st: you 2nd: your posessions 3rd: your siblings/cousins, early education and neighbourhood 4th: your family and parents 5th: your children, sex life and fun activities 6th: your employees, pets and health 7th: your partnerships and open enemies 8th: your shared resources and inheritance 9th: your higher education, beliefs, travel 10th: your career and reputation 11th: your friends and networking 12th: your subconscious, loss, succlusion, sickness
So, as you can see, if you, for example, look at the planets in your 3rd house then they are largely talking about your family members or even neighbours. Have loud Aries Mars in the 3rd house but you're rather introverted and like to be left alone? Well, are your neighbours annoying? Is your neighbourhood a rather loud or even unsafe place? Do you feel a dislike towards your siblings cause they're always obnoxious when you're trying to relax and immerse yourself in your favorite book? Are your siblings sporty? Well, that's your Mars in the 3rd.
Have Jupiter in the 3rd house but you don't travel too much, you were never top of the class and you're shy? BUT how about your siblings, cousins or neighbours? Or maybe your school environment was very preachy or you even attended a catholic school? Look at the bigger picture because, newsflash, even your natal chart doesn't revolve all around you.
TIMING
If we're talking more about circumstances and events, this is a very important point to understand. You're not born with a load of experience and unless you're in your elderly age, you cannot ever say that a certain placement doesn't apply to you. You have Saturn in the 7th? Well maybe you went through that ONE bad breakup/divorce in your life - obviously you're not going through it for the eternity. You have Jupiter in the 7th house yet you struggle in relationships? But then you get into one in your 30s or even 40s and it's with the most jupiterian person in the world and you're happily together for the rest of your lives. You have Sun in the 10th house but you're whining that you're not acknowledged or popular or whatever? Well yeah, you're just being annoying, you know that not everyone can be a teenage superstar influencer or whatever - climbing the social ladder usually takes decades so don't even start with this one.
Nothing is constant. Things require time and that time is often influenced by, you've guessed it, ✨timing techniques✨ lol. So progressions, profections, transits, time lord periods etc. It may be that you won't even live enough to actually experience it. Some gain acclaim after they die, soz.
Other times certain events and traits only apply at certain moments in your life. I've mentioned my sister and her peak period in her teens. Well, she also happen to have Jupiter - her ascendant ruler - in the 3rd house, which may imply that she had the most luck and positive experiences during her school years. Same with other houses, If you have planets in the 7th house they may only be active while you're in a relationship. If you have planets in the 9th they may only activate when you're abroad or during your time in college. If you have planets in the 10th they may only switch on when you're on a high position career-wise. Not every house speaks of moments in life per se, but some do so keep that in mind.
WRONG HOUSE SYSTEM
Some of you stubborn lil kiddos might hate what I'm about to say… but if you're using the default placidus, I do encourage you to ✨open your mind✨ and check out your chart using the whole sign system. It's usually more straightforward and pretty much always more accurate from a constructive point of view.

i don't, i just have a rough time so i always just assumed i'm a pisces rising. but then the rectification website was like " nope aries" and i realized that i somehow forgot for the entire time i've been into astrology that i literally have red hair and a fivehead
Ahh I just tried it out myself. Lucky you, a few of my planets switch houses depending on the system
For appearance and lining that up, you can always check to see what's aspecting your asc and what's in your first house ofc. One of my favorite posts on that is this one by mercurytrinemoon, and no I'm not biased bc they didn't just say aquarius is unique and leave. I'd try and get some more common photos instead of celebrities considering the possibility of P.S., but it's something to take into account when you see some details lining up for all of them. Considering mine, I stopped caring for appearances beyond learning bc like...none of us match LMAO.
For the planets thing, my example is right here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With Placidus, I have Saturn sitting there, affecting how my Aquarius rising is acting, so really not giving people who mix up the two, a good time. However, when you use Whole Sign, it switches over to the second house. So obviously I'm not an aquarius rising with saturn influence ted talk over. So that's when you get to do a bunch of math and look at how the chart is playing out, unfortunately a much harder time for you but let's go let's go.
With risings, you always want to look at the ruler of it first, because that's going to affect the overall chart more because it's the one driving the car. So even though my Saturn has moved in a different system, it still holds the same aspects. Yeah it's wearing different glasses, but different conversation for a different topic. It interacts with my Sun, opposes my Mars which both are in two of my dominant signs, and then has a tight aspect somewhere else. So that will feed back into Aquarius and how I come off. I'm not going to be the out-loud stereotype rising, but I will still be able to express myself in my own ways and pick and choose which rules to abide by.
For the Modern ruler, Uranus is in my Twelfth house so that's Still not helping me lmao. It Also interacts with my Sun, Saturn too in fact, and my Mars too! Except it's doing the opposite, it wants me to act up. I have a lot of buzzing going on, and it's a battle between if Saturn or Uranus wins, so very fitting that my rising is Aquarius. That's one way of trying to figure out which rising sign you have, as well as looking at how the rest of your planets are sitting (some of them obviously aren't going to fully match you because like.....it's some stars and planets in the sky, we don't have OG astrologers anymore so a good amount of really good scriptures are lost but we're doing our best here).
Then what about the planets aspecting your ascendant? I got those three right there. My Moon can make my emotions act like a tide, and I can be very sensitive to how I'm perceived--or vice versa, my emotions can really fuck up a room's vibe. It's also an aspect where how you feel grates against how you end up acting. Pluto only intensifies that because this aspect tends to make people want to be involved with me in some form (good or bad), along with another aspect of mine. Then we have Jupiter, my presence is Usually cheery? Think Jess from New Girl. However that Jupiter aspect only neutralizes the rest of everything along with Saturn's impact.
So when you take ALL of that, you can piece together which rising sign you have? Like if someone came at me and told me 'Oh you feel like a Libra rising' well first off I know they'd be lying, but two I can just go through these steps and see how things are playing out If I had a libra rising. Just changed it and I have a stellium in my 10th house.....that ain't me LMAO.
Another easy thing is going off of is when people try to guess your sign? People usually guess earth signs for me and cancer is near the bottom. It's that Saturn influence baby <3
I just talked a whole lot for no reason but I suck at explaining things without doing it and giving examples I'm Sorry but I hope this helped????? A little????

Astro observations: celebrity edition part 2 aka latest news roundup
⭐️ Dua Lipa announced on her instagram that she's actually a Gemini rising as opposed to Libra. Now my Gemini detector told me that ages ago but I accepted the Libra rising just because it's my default token "plain good looking and polite" sign BUT it actually now makes much more sense in terms of house placements. Her Venus is now cazimi in the 3rd house - house associated with creative writing and thinking. The ever-changing and fast-moving Mercury is now in her 4th house of family and home situation and she's actually been always moving a lot between England and Albania. That healthy domicile Mercury as well as the Sun-Venus conjunction in the 3rd shows her close connection to family overall.
Funnily enough, her discovery took place during Mercury station in her 4th house. Talk about finding out your true roots (astrological, in that instance).
⭐️ We also now have the birth time of Elon Musk, who turns out to be a Cancer rising. Jupiter in his 5th house of children now makes perfect sense with his 11 kids (and probably counting).
⭐️ If you're wondering why Ariana Grande is the way she is, look no further than Moon conjunct Jupiter - aka her 7th house ruler multiply; as well as both being square to the Sun. Usually Sun square Jupiter can point to legal issues and excess while Sun square Moon often points to broken families. Now add that together and you have… a homewrecker, yaaay!
⭐️ I was thinking a lot about Blink 182 and Tom Delonge (his chart resembles mine a bit) due to him rejoining the band last year and now releasing a new Blink album. Natally, he has a retrograde Gemini Mars so I looked at his progressed chart to see the stationary period. Turns out his progressed Mars stationed direct early 2014, followed by progressed Sun entering Aquarius. Early following year the band announced that he left permanently. One of the things he focused on was research on the UFOs and work with the government. Of course, keep in mind progressed Mars stations for quite a while and his issues with the band lasted throughout the whole 2014 so it makes sense that the final split occured a year later. And why Mars? Well it can literally speak about our focus in life and our direction - where we put our energy. Not to mention Mars rules his MC so it brought him a massive turn in his career. So makes sense.
⭐️ Britney Spears just released a memoir book. Putting aside the questionable fact on who really wrote it, it stirred up a lot of drama. Her chart is one big mine but today I'm only focusing on current transits: she just had an eclipse in her first house of Libra. That eclipse landed right on her Pluto, which natally squares Venus (talking about toxic relationships and exposing them). Pluto itself is making last hits to those degrees as well as it's stationing direct in the late Capricorn. Interestingly I think Jupiter being in her 8th house can point to this as well - it lights up all the secrets and talks about working on past traumas. Now, you're also probably thinking, why was she involved with so many iffy people in her life? A lot of things in her chart point to that but what always struck me was her 7th house ruler - a malefic Mars - being in her 12th house of enemies. And it squares Neptune so they're also liars and exploiters.
⭐️ There's been A TON of celebrity breakups during this Venus retrograde season but I'm gonna quickly focus on Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner because their charts are an interesting example. Their synastry is mostly having planets in sister signs but this also means that if one of them gets hit with a transit, so is the other. Involve Saturn in that transit and you get trouble. Saturn is currently in early Pisces, where Sophie has some of her planets in the 12th house (loss, enemies). Her Mars (disputes, cutting) is at 4° of Pisces while Joe's Mars is at 7° Virgo - right opposite that. Saturn transit stirred up some proper drama: and Saturn is also coldness, being restrained and cut off. On top of that they also have their rising signs in the opposite signs of Aries and Libra and we just started having eclipses in those signs earlier this year.
Not to mention Joe's Leo Sun got hit by Venus retrograde and a Uranus square. Among other stuff.
FUN FACT: according to my research they met for the first time in October of 2016 when Jupiter was in Libra. So, interestingly, not only they had Jupiter going through their angles but Jupiter in their Davidson chart is in Libra.
⭐️ Taylor Swift is currently going through her 10th house profection year (Leo). It would make sense then that her career would take a turn this year considering that Venus was retrograding in Leo. Of course as it turned out she had a massive succes with her ongoing world tour, which is said to become the highest grossing tour of all time.
⭐️ A Vogue article popped up about Rita Ora's and Taika Waititi's wedding that took place a year earlier (they kept all the info and date private until now). Jupiter played a huge role in them getting married (as it often does, especially for a couple like them, who have it strong in their charts, which I wrote about HERE). At the time of their wedding Jupiter was at 8° Aries, which for Rita is that sweet spot between her Sagittarius Sun and Venus (4° and 10° respectively) and Leo Jupiter (13°) - as it completed a grand trine in her chart. Transiting Sun was also 12° of Leo, highlighting that trine even more.
Man I love astrology.
For Taika it was pretty prominent as well although his Jupiter aspects were more sign-based. He had a Jupiter return; his Moon is somewhere in the middle of Sagittarius so he received these fire trines as well. Interestingly, at the time of the wedding Saturn was at 22° Aquarius - exactly opposite his Leo Sun but also sextile his natal Jupiter. So for him it had a bit of a Saturnian flavour that called for stability and maturity.
⭐️ Similarly, I just read the other day that Frances Bean Cobain got married earlier this month. She has a Venus-Jupiter conjunction on top of her Virgo ascendant (interestingly Kurt had the trine between Venus and Jupiter - so seems like a family pattern). Also interestingly, transiting Jupiter is currently trining both her Venus and Jupiter (on the day of the wedding it was trining Venus exact), thereby her natal pattern got repeated. Jupiter is also her 7th house ruler.
Her now husband, Riley Hawk is having a nice transit of that Jupiter over his Taurus Moon - and remember, Moon rules the women in your family as well as your wife.

Aries risings and eclipses: comebacks and rebrands
There's a few celebrities that caught my attention in the past couple of weeks and I felt the urge to look at their charts and talk about them a bit. What I've quickly realized is that… they're all Aries risings and we just went through a total eclipse in Aries and are still battling through a Mercury retrograde (also in Aries). So, this is an Aries rising-only astro news compilation.
Shakira
During the recent Easter break I found myself having a Shakira moment, reminiscing on her old hits and belting out Underneath Your Clothes. I thought that's probably thanks to Mercury just stationing retrograde, which often makes people go back to old stuff. And then I thought… What if everyone's having a Shakira moment now?
Tumblr media
And this is when I realized suddenly she's everywhere: giving a surprise show at Times Square, being a guest on Hot Ones, giving a ton of new interviews that flood my YouTube recommend page. She just released a new album but seems like this is a huge reset for her and her name is, once again, on everyone's lips. Shakira is an Aries rising and an Aries Venus with nodes in her 1st and 7th axis - she's not quite an eclipse baby (although almost a Full Moon baby!) but nodes close to her axis may make her sensitive to eclipse seasons. Her ascendant ruler, Mars, is exalted in the 10th house in Capricorn, giving her a slow and steady rise to success and a grounded, solidified place in the public eye.
Interestingly, she received an MTV Vanguard award just last autumn at a time of her exact reverse nodal return, which already foreshadowed things for her.
Her new album was released on March 22nd this year, just a couple of days after Sun ingressed into Aries and a few days before the eclipse. What's important to note that she's also going through her Jupiter return in Taurus. Mercury retrograding in her 1st house makes people and the media reminisce on her career and what she achieved up to this point. Of course a planet retrograding in someone's 1st house can cause a hiccup of some sorts and that happened in her case as well - there was a small outrage surrounding her comments on the last year's Barbie movie and how she and her sons hated it.
Jojo Siwa
Switching lanes let's get to someone that is now talked about in the media excessively but for the wrong reasons and that is… Jojo Siwa. Now, I had to read up on her after I saw people poking fun at the way she's presenting herself but apparently, she was all rainbows and sunshines until she changed her color palette to black and is now calling herself edgy and groundbreaking. She was on Toddlers and Tiaras I believe… so you get the vibe.
Tumblr media
Siwa is a Taurus stellium (makes sense with the bows and glitter) with Aries rising, of course. Her ascendant ruler is right next to Neptune in the 11th house, which can bring potential problems when it comes to how she's being received by the public. The badazzledness of the sweet sweet Taurus is amped up by the flashy Jupiter in Leo (opposed by that Mars and squared by Mercury, certainly adding to the loudness of her personality and the, let's say, overall audacity).
The nodes are pretty significant for her as well, as her Sun is accompanied by the north node (really intensifying the Sun's radiant quality) and… she's actually an eclipse baby, being born in the middle of the eclipse season, only three days after a total lunar eclipse in Scorpio. So we have double the strength of having eclipses in her 1st-7th house axis, as well as being an eclipse child in general.
So the "rebranding" seems, well, on brand for her at this time. But again, Mercury retrograding in her 1st house seems to not serve her well, especially given she has it retrograde natally as well. Uranus being co-present in her sign, a bubbly Taurus, paired with Jupiter, which is still a pretty badazzled planet, didn't result in a true 180° switch that she aimed for. In turn we got a somewhat inflated (Jupiter) sense of self and a warped view of things.
But the plus side is that the current Jupiter transit also helped her gain popularity as her video for the new song passed 23 million views on YouTube. Talk about expansion!
Rihanna
Rihanna didn't make a comeback in the same sense Shakira did but she surely made people talk. The singer is allegedly an Aries rising but she also has quite an Aries planetary party with Moon, Venus and Jupiter there as well. And in a true Aries fashion, even if she's not necessarily doing much with her career at the moment, she made sure to remind everyone of herself, especially that she's also in her 1st house profection year so it's all about "ME!" - something an Aries loves.
Tumblr media
Rihanna made the headlines by doing a fashion spread for the Interview Magazine. And, to be more precise, by posing in a nun-inspired outfit. The cover photo made some people outraged, while others were sighing in awe. The news broke pretty much on the eclipse (the morning after I believe).
Rihanna dabbles in these high-fashion, obscure themes probably because of the mixture of her Pisces Sun (religious themes? She surely went all-in for the Catholic-themed MET Gala a few year back) and her Aries stellium in the 1st. The ram likes to shock and be bold and sexual but considering she also has Moon and Venus - two feminine planets - in the sign, makes her bold and daring in her fashion choices as well.
Billie Eilish
The last person I want to talk about is… Billie Eilish. I know, I KNOW, you may think "but she's a Pisces rising!". Well Billie somewhat went through a different kind of rebrand and it's that her birth certificate has just been obtained and according to the new info, she is, in fact an Aries rising.
Tumblr media
The confusion might be there although if, like me, you see a massive Pisces influence in her, her "new" ascendant ruler is Mars… in Pisces! A corrected birth time is a big deal already, especially given the eclipse and Mercury retrograde - both helped "refresh" her astrological persona and "status" as an Aries ascendant. But that is not all, as on the day of the eclipse Billie announced a brand new album that she will debut on May 17th.
What's great about this date is that Mars will already be in Aries, probably making her a lot more active. Also, that is only one day before Jupiter cazimi and Venus conjunct Uranus - a great time to release new things into the world. Interestingly, Venus and Uranus will conjoin just a couple of degrees away from Billie's lot of fortune in Taurus. I truly love when astrology is doing its thing.

💫I wrote a book and it's out now yaay!💫
Tumblr media
Last year in December I had an idea.
It was THIS post (thank you @astrologeee for inspiring me) that made me think, I should actually teach astrology the way it should be taught: not by throwing dry concepts and cookbook definitions at people, but by explaining why some things are the way they are and break down the mechanics behind astrological delineations.
And because of my intermittent (not to say erratic) nature, I'm not great at chart readings because I do things when I feel like doing them, not when I have to - this is why for the past few weeks I fully devoted myself to writing and illustrating a book - so I can give you a finished product that you can get anytime you want - it's here and ready to read. Also, I think it's a perfect way to go through my 9th house profection year and a 3rd house Jupiter transit (that is loooots of writing and a finished publication).
"Studying the stars: the basis of understanding and analyzing astrology"
The book contains all new material, except for the chapter on houses that I took from my two blog posts. You get full sections on planets, signs, aspects, houses etc + a chapter on how to put things together - I'm dissecting exemplary planetary placements, aspects between them + more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
example pages
I tried to be as precise in all the descriptions and just cover all the necessary basics - so getting straight to the point. I think it would be a perfect starting point for those, who are just getting into astrology, but I'm hoping those of you, who are already deep into it will find something interesting in this book as well.
The book is currently $5 and available as a pdf on my ko-fi profile HERE (other platforms and a proper e-book format incoming! Ya girl is still waiting for her ISBN number 😩). UPDATE: also available HERE ON MY WEBSITE!
I hope you guys will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it (not formatting tho cause that bitch took me a week and I still kept finding errors ahahah). And yes, there's a cheeky lil Vettius Valens chillin in the bottom corner of the cover so you can have a giggle at that as well.

Let's talk about sex, Venus and Mars
As Venus and Mars are separating from a conjunction, let's remind everyone that Venus stands for romance, pleasures, seduction and sex, while Mars... not necessarily.
And that's all that should be said, period, but if you want receipts, then read along.
Venus and Mars traditionally
Taking it back to tradition, Vettius Valens (2nd CE) assigns Venus to desire and erotic love as well as "the parts of intercourse" (which was also translated to "the union of the sexual organs"). He linked Mars to intercourse, adultery and all forms of violent behaviours, including those specifically targeting women. He also states that Mars rules genitals.
Abu Ma'Shar (9th CE) desribed Venus as "a multitude of sexual intercourse of diverse kinds" as well as "the sons of fornication". I think the line "she rejoices with every thing and seeks every thing and is eager for it" is also crucial here as it outlines Venus as passionate and excited - traits, which currently would be linked with Mars. And when it comes to the malefic, Ma'Shar assigns it to adultery and "foulness of sexual intercourse". So with both scholars we do have some association between Mars and sex but mostly in a negative malefic sense.
Contemporary astrologers, who aren't necessarily following strictly modern astrology still agree with this notion. Richard Tarnas in his research gives a similar affiliation:
"Venus: the principle of desire, love, (…); the impulse and capacity to attract and be attracted, to love and be loved, (…) sensous pleasure."
His Mars delineation highlights the forceful motion of the planet: "the principle of energetic force, harm, violence".
Traditional scholars seen Mars as either purely malefic or one that had to exhibit bravery and assertiveness when under attact. That harsh nature expressed itself in all kinds of acts of violence and not as the give and take. Mars is cutting, severing, disputes and disruption after all. It's filthy. In modern astrology it's most commonly linked with anger. And you guys want to put sex next to all of that? Yikes.
Venus, on the other hand, is all responsible for senses, pleasure, romance and bodily matters. This is why it rejoices in the 5th house of pleasure, procreation and sex.
Mythology and gods
If we go back to the myth of Inanna, the Sumerian preceder of Venus, she was associated with sex and fertility and when captive in the underworld, people would be made not to procreate. Then in the later millenia, the planet now known as Venus was named after and associated with her Greek counterpart Aphrodite, who was linked with love, lust, pleasure, passion, procreation, desire, sex and fertility. Venus, as her Roman version, ruled over the same things (Romans copied Greeks with their mythology pretty much word-for-word; Aphrodite was first and then Romans came up with the name Venus).
For comparison, both Mars and Ares are seen as the gods of war with the latter one having purely destructive and destabilizing nature (Mars seemed to be more into stability but still military-focused).
You can argue that Mars as a planet symbolizes how we pursue and posess and what our energy levels are, which can extend to libido. So loosely, yes, in that sense as a secondary association, we can include Mars as well in certain contexts. I can see how Mars can rule intercourse in itself as it connects to blood flow and a form of exertion. BUT it's always been Venus in the first place on how we seduce, how we romance, what we find hot and what our erotic nature is. Making love is her forte, no matter if fuzzy feelings are present or not.
Taking that into consideration, I'd still give Mars like 5% of importance here. To quote Meredith Froemke, it's like a multilayer cake, meaning all of your chart will have some say in the topic (just like with everything else). And as yin and yang, Venus and Mars will compliment each other, just because they naturally balance things out in all matters. And as the myth said, Venus and Mars found themselves in a fiery hot affair while the goddess was married to Vulcan. So hot everyone was talking about it.
Modern times
Symbolically, currently Mars is linked with sex and has been for a while now and it is probably thanks to the masculinisation of pleasure and how the importance of men's sexual experience somehow outweighted woman's in the society's eyes. In astrology, it's hard for me to find and pinpoint exactly who was the first one to assign sex directly to Mars, at the same time depriving Venus of that role.
According to Alan Leo (18th-19th CE), who was the precursor of modern astrology, "the symbol of Mars will therefore represent to us Desire, Force and Energy." This sums up its energy in a cohesive way - Mars seizes and is willing to take the necessary steps to achieve the goal in a rather selfish manner. You can connect this with every aspect of life basically, sex included, but it is still yet not highlighted as purely that. He also compared both planets:
"In contradistinction to Mars, who is the planet of discord, typifying the animal, Venus represents the human soul, and until we feel the sweet influence of Venus in our lives, we shall go on seeking fresh experience upon the cross of life. Venus is love, while Mars is passion; Venus peace, Mars strife. (…) These two planets in themselves are helpful to the other."
Stephen Arroyo, a modern psychological astrologer, made the gender-based distinguishment (which wasn't present in older texts) but seemed to take a somewhat middle ground at the same time when it comes to the topic:
"Venus represents an inflow and outflow of energy and its placement in the various elements is expressed as the give and take of love, affection and sensual pleasure with others. (…) Venus shows how a woman receives and gives of herself in love and sex. Usually more of a sexual indicator for women than it is for men. (…) Venus is also related to a man's ideals about love, sex and relationships, however, Mars is much more a symbol of sexual energy in men. In women, though, Venus and Mars energies are both important components of the sexual nature, and they combine and are usually more inseparable than is the case in most men."
When speaking of Mars, he quickly mentions: "For a man, Mars shows how he projects himself forcefully, assertively and sexually. It indicates how he gives of his power in a sexual relationship".
So judging by what I've gathered, I'm guessing things started shifting with the rise of psychological astrology and the more "energetical" approach rather than archetypal. That meant with women everything is filtered through Venus and with men, with Mars. It further translated into "well a man has the upper hand and has to express his *cough*toxic*cough* masculinity during the act and be macho, so oBviOuSly it has to be linked with a masculine forceful and assertive Mars duhhh" and therefore "Venus=woman=submissive=not into sex=only into affection" bullshit that I don't dig.
Up to that point, and certainly in traditional and medieval texts, it was consistent to directly relate Venus to all the things I've listed in the beginning, while Mars to severing, aggression and conquer and if linked to sexual matters, it is not viewed in a positive light as it is the planet of violation and acts that would be looked down on. And we should stick to that.

OLIVIA RODRIGO: VENUSIAN GRACE MEETS GROWING PAINS OF SATURN
(Side note, I've mentioned it earlier but Olivia has a rounded time of birth from memory and it's 0° of Capricorn but I feel like that kinda suits her so crossing my fingers it is right).
Venus, Moon and popularity
The first couple of things that strike me is Olivia's Moon and Venus - not only the Moon is right on her MC but it squares her 1st house Venus pretty much exact. Now let's back it up a bit, I actually saw an interview with her a while ago where she said that her grandpa was an astrologer and said that she's going to be a performer. Honestly, I don't see this in her chart - or at least it's not a blatant thing that just pops straight at you when you look at her chart - but what I DO see right away is popularity and being well-received thanks to venusian aspects: being polite, being well put together, being gracious. This is exactly thanks to her Moon and Venus positions. Moon in the 9th, 10th or sometimes 11th - and especially in Libra - is the popularity aspect already, not to mention when it's slapped right on the MC. Venus in the 1st house and in the earthy ever-growing Capricorn is elegance and allure - she's probably going to age beautifully. Have Moon and Venus in an exact aspect and you get someone like Olivia Rodrigo. Obviously a trine or a conjunction would be better but all Moon-Venus aspects are linked with being popular - it's the idea of America's sweetheart. The only difference is, with a square there might be issues with other girls - like jealousy, gossip or constant comparisons (whether self-imposed or coming from the public). And I mean, I don't know much about young celebrities but I do know about the supposed rivalry with Sabrina Carpenter or the accusations of Olivia copying songs from other female artists - both cases fit perfectly into the Moon-Venus square theme. It's like whatever she does, she's being dragged into the typical catfight narration. The Venus-Moon square also makes her choose topics that are related to relationships and heartbreak - especially with her Venus being so close to Chiron - she's talking about the pain and struggles associated with loosing love in a very therapeutic way, which makes her relatable in the eyes of her peers and fans. On top of that, those very relationships are in turn a big part of her being in the spotlight with her 7th house ruler (Moon) sitting at the highest, most visible part of the chart (MC).
The gossip-y feel may be accentuated by her Mars chillin in the 12th house and opposing Saturn exact. A malefic energy in the 12th house does talk about people being hateful towards the native. Mars rules her 11th house of friends, groups and also fans so there might be some unhealthy treatment coming from the entitled part of her fanbase or just people on social media in general. The Saturn opposition is a tricky one cause that's not an aspect one would want, especially in the 6th-12th axis cause that's just bad for the person and their health. But apart from that, it's either an aspect of short-lived enthusiasm and having trouble with motivation orrr - which I think seems to fit her better - being a workaholic who's very hard on themselves. A Mars-Saturn opposition often forces the person to constantly do something productive once they get into a habit of that. It's also going against the grain, which she might showcase a bit with her more alternative and rock-ier influence that she's trying to sneak into her image through the themes of teen angst and spunk - although with Venus and Moon so significant in her chart, her music still remains very glossy and poppy.
Knack for words
Another elephant in the room is the Mercury-Jupiter opposition. First of all, Mercury is in a pretty close applying conjunction with Neptune, which paired with the artsy Sun in Pisces, can give a lot of creative ideas and love for poetry. Blow it out with a Jupiter opposition and you get huge potential for self-expression, especially through words and knowing how to use… well… big words. Jupiter itself, which is the dispositor of her Sun, is in the creative and extravagant sign of Leo, which shows finding luck on stage and thriving when being recognized for anything really. THAT can be a performer aspect for sure, it's just not too obvious since it's tucked away in the 8th house.
And speaking of her career and songwriting skills. We know 5th house is the house of creativity but I always say, 3rd house is often occupied by planets in the charts of creative folks who work with communication is some way. So, great lyricist or simply people who need to express their feelings through words and tell stories often do have some 3rd house activity. Well on top of her Mercury being pretty busy, her Sun is in the 3rd house - that adds to the songwriter aspect, it's where she shines. I believe she was also pretty active in her school years when she learned most of her skills (singing and piano lessons) - and a 3rd house Sun shows that clearly.
Career highlights and transits
Now what seemed to work positively for her as a Capricorn rising and Venus was the 2020 great conjunction in Cap (Mars-Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto). I've found this quote from her: “The last day before the world shut down because of COVID was a very, very fateful day. I met my producer, Dan Nigro, and also my label, Interscope, for the first time that day.” It would be much more helpful if she said the actual date because I'm not sure what day did she meant exactly? Lockdowns didn't start at the same time in all countries and the pandemic was announced a bit earlier on the 11th. But I'm eye-balling it for the middle of March and the cluster of Capricorn planets was very much present during that time. Interestingly, I glanced at her solar return for that year, just a few weeks earlier, and Moon was with that stellium as well. See? Ominious-looking transits can actually bring you breakthroughts and power.
She released "Driver's Licence" in 2021 right as Venus ingressed into her first house, which helped her be well-received by the public - that surely did boost her natal placement of Venus. Looks like the co-presence of Saturn with Jupiter on her Aquarius planets didn't mess with the benefic power either as she was abruptly gaining public's interest. Both planets also opposed her natal Jupiter in Leo and I think this shows the polarity of fame and recognition and the saturnian themes of her lyrics but also, on the other hand, some hate that she received that was the result of gaining quick popularity.
And speaking of ingresses of benefics… As she released her debut album, Jupiter just went into her sign of Pisces. Her Sun is right at the 1°, so it got hit with luck and fame right away.
This year's Saturn ingress into Pisces didn't seem to phase Olivia when it comes to her career. She released the first single from her sophomore album on June 30th, on a Mercury-Sun conjunction that received a nice trine from Saturn as well as a Venus-Mars conjunction. She did manage to fit in with the release just before Venus hit retrograde. She still seems to roll with the influence of Jupiter as well as it squared her natal Leo placement.
That influence was very much present during the release of the album "Guts" as well. A freshly post-retrograde Venus was right on her natal Jupiter. The saturnian influence is still not doing much damage as the great malefic hovered over her Sun at that time (and still does). As a Capricorn-influenced person she might actually be a bit immune to its damaging power.
Saturn may as well in this case just show her publictly digging into her pains and traumas that she explores in her music. She said "I feel like I grew 10 years between the ages of 18 and 20" and that could as well be Saturn speaking. It's the constant retrospection and knowing where you stand after going through some hardships and treating everything as a lesson. Then, on the other hand, we have her Piscean impact of having an artistic vision around how said experiences will be expressed and how she's going to present them to the world.

DIFFERENT LOOK AT SIGN TRIPLICITIES PART 1: AIR SIGNS
Aka things about Gemini, Libra and Aquarius that people don't talk about
Sometimes it's hard to talk about a certain sign and not bring up other signs of the same triplicity at the same time. I always strongly encourage a hollistic approach to astrology - this is why I wanted to talk about signs from an elemental point of view - because, if you filter each sign through the characteristics of the element, you'll understand it a lot quicker.
The first triplicity I wanted to talk about is air. In my e-book on astrology, I wrote:
Air signs are all about communication and the intellect, the social life, humanity and knowledge. Thought-driven, usually great with people or sciences, they inhale information quickly. They also have a tendency to detach and use logic to cope with situations, which can potentially make them too cold and impersonal.
So, this is what they ALL have in common. Gemini is not the only one who's into communication, Libra is not the only one who's social. And Aquarius is not the only one who uses logic. They're all built on the same foundations. So let's talk about it.
Impersonality of air signs
I was thinking of an encounter I had with a Libra Sun a few months ago... TWO times I was around the guy and both times he was like a light breeze that just gently brushed the social situation he was in. You know how you often say about Aquarius people that they're super friendly but detached?? People don't talk about Libras in the same sense but that is kind of like an airy thing overall. He was suuuper friendly but there was something shallow about his interactions (and this is where the Venus aspect kicks in with being superficial). It's as if he wasn't REALLY there.
Which is funny cause I, as an Aquarius rising, can be the same, especially when I meet people the first time and I have NO INTENTION to get to know them better.
And to contrast it: his friends that he's close with? Each of them has Sun in a different element (I know, I know... and they all perfectly complete each other and that's truly beautiful). Out of all of them, that airy guy is the most elusive and outgoing one. He'll be like "hey guyssssss" *small talk noises* *smiley face* *laughs at everything* *giggles* and then you blink and he's already somewhere else, just glancing over the people around him while vanishing into nothingness. It's also worth noting that his Mercury is in Libra as well. So it just adds to that type of communication and social interactions.
Air signs are floating above everyone's heads like a light cloud - you can definitely see them, but to pull them closer, you need a stronger anchor that will tickle and encourage the less impersonal side of them. It's the same with their attention, they can be busy doing their own stuff and then suddenly bombard you out of nowhere with an intricate observation or story that happened, just as if there was no radio silence between them and you in the first place.
Geminis can be similar but for them it's just the quickness of their mind that may make them seem not invested - they'll be buddies with everyone around but they won't put much thought into it. Like sure, if you're talking to them one-on-one and if you spark their interest, they will want to spend more time with you and get to know you better. For Geminis, it's their curious mercurial nature that will want to investigate you and gather as much information as they can. But if they're in a group setting, they will probably be too scattered to really focus on one person as they want to impress everyone around with what they have to say.
Libras and their masculinity
There is something about Libras that people don't understand. The sign is ruled by Venus but it's an air one - therefore a masculine one. It's the intellectual sign that thrives on ideas; it's also cardinal so it's not a passive energy. This is why you find a lot of Libra Suns, who are playing with different styles and who often gravitate towards more "masculine", tomboy-ish or rebellious themes. This also probably has to do with Sun being in its detriment here, as it may often find it hard to grasp its own identity - or, it just simply can't decide Libra-style. (I've touched on that a bit in my birth chart analysis of Doja Cat.)
But while people subconsciously expect venusian folks to be, well, stereotypically venusian, sometimes that is internalized by the sign itself. A healthy ego is usually non-judgmental of others and, as I just mentioned, Libra is not the best place for the Sun. Libra's fixation with having to appear "perfect" is a common thing and it often leads to them being picky towards those who break the conventional standards of beauty in any way.
Funnily, who's known for being one of the most judgmental signs? You've guessed it, it's Aquarius with their exiled Sun. The "I am better than you" narrative is something both air signs go through at one point in their life (or the majority of it if they're on the unhealthy side of the sign).
And then there's Gemini, thinking they have all the answers.
Constantly in their heads
Air signs all communicate with themselves in their heads. Internal monologue is especially true when it comes to busy minds. Geminis and Libras will probably be the ones who also blab and gossip in front of others (while Aquarius will stand in the corner, quietly judging them and questioning their intelligence) but all three have the tendency to battle with their own thoughts.
The sign of Gemini is associated with the nervous system and I always say they're the most jittery sign of all (wiggling in their chair? Nervously touching their hair? Stumbling on their own words? Yup, a Gemini... or Aries, but that's for another time). Well this nervous behaviour is also often present in their own heads. As a Gemini Moon collector, I always laugh how my mercurial pals will often have a look on their faces as if the cogs in their brains were starting to malfunction and they space out for a split second. In this very second, they either experience an overheat from all the information they process or they just had a massive light bulb moment. Or, alternatively, they were proven to be wrong.
Which Geminis hate btw.
Libras, on the other hand, will torment themselves over the options they have. Which, some might say that is a blatant stereotype, but have you seen a Libra's post on instagram? It's the same 5 photos but with them doing a different face expression or placing their hand in a different spot. What is this if not them just not being able to make up their mind and post only one?
Exactly.
But what people don't talk about is, Geminis are similar in that regard. Gemini will not be able to make up their mind, especially a Gemini Mars. Directing your energy into one specific area? What is that? That is why they're a jack of all trades, master of none. They simply can't focus on one thing. Researching 5 different things at once? Completely normal for them. Tell me, Geminis, how many times you've googled a random anatomy fact while cooking dinner?
Now Aquarius is actually a fixed sign so their asses are stubborn af and if they decide on something, they just stick to it. They do still fixate over things in their minds though. From having an existential crisis and critiquing themselves to having so much creative ideas that their heads hurt. Texting you at 4:00 in the morning? Sleeping is not an option when they're caught up in the new convoluted project that they came up with a few hours earlier. Their notes app? Hundreds of files. Their web browser? 20 cards open at once.
Aquarius loves people but hates people
And speaking of which, Aquarius folks are known for being the friendly one. Modern astrology went one step further and gave them a badge of the nutty social creature thanks to the association with the 11th house and groups of people (which, you know we DON'T do it here). And of course, Aquarius is going to be friendly and communicative... because it's an air sign. But it started being painted as the ultimate social butterfly when in fact, most of them actually hate people.
Now hear me out.
They love to be in their heads, they love tinkering with whatever makes their minds busy, like lil crazy scientists. But let's go back to what I've said about them sometimes being judgmental. Especially in their youth, being a snob is an Aquarius thing. Whatever is popular, they will dismiss and say "it's crap and people know nothing about REAL valuable quality things".
Just to give a real-life example, I just listened to a podcast with Mike Shinoda, an Aquarius Sun/Mercury/Mars, and he talked about how when he was younger he had this kind of snobbish-above-everyone-else type of thinking. He gave an example of this cheerleader from high school whom he didn't like and how he once saw her wearing a Green Day patch and he thought "first of all, she doesn't really listen to Green Day, she probably knows only one song; second of all, I now hate Green Day because she likes them" (this is btw, the same energy he gave 20 years ago when he said "slow death" when answering the question of "what do you prefer: Backstreet Boys or N*SYNC"). And I was listening to it, and I thought, THIS is exactly what a young Aquarius would say. Also, that just rings a bell cause I can be like that to this very day, oops.
So as far as Aquarius folks will be welcoming in a social setting, due to them liking to collect data and share thoughts with others, they will probably much rather be on their own or with their close besties. Also, if they're not the smartest and most awesome person in the room, they much rather not be in there at all.
Being the leaders in change, especially when it comes to social (or science) things is a byproduct of them being an air sign ruled by Saturn. So they think of changing the current status quo or innovating the old ways of being. The change should be sudden though (remember it's a fixed sign, there's no inbetween), if you don't adapt right away, you're automatically deemed as mentally stuck and dismissed.
Mind comes first
A note on Aquarius folks: they like to ask questions, they can be kinda quirky in their interests and whatnot but generally, they are not a crazy conspiracy theory fanatics (which sometimes they're painted as such). Aquarius is ruled by Saturn, it likes things to be in order and making sense. Aquarius also likes to back up everything with science - that's so against being a flat-earther or something. Sure, as an air sign they like to explore new territories and like to know what's out there so there may be an interest in space, sci-fi, aliens or anything that acts as an exciting piece of knowledge that fires up their brains… They're just massive geeks in that regard. But don't make it so dramatic, look to Scorpios for crazy fanatism and paranoia, bahahahaha.
Like I just heard an Aquarius Sun say "I always try to rationalize things". Actually I hear that from Aquarius folks a lot.
Either way, they can walk with their head in the clouds but there's always something thought-driven about them. Even if they experience a lot emotionally, they most likely will try to either find a solution to it or find a logical explanation for it. Orrrr, they can talk or write about it just to get these thoughts out and sort out the library in their brains.
You gotta understand that with air signs mind and thoughts come first. Obviously you take the whole chart into account and mesh it all together so it's rarely all black and white but if we were to highlight an air sign's DNA, it's all about ideas. They're not driven by fiery hearts and the physical feelings that come with experiences. They're not driven by sentiments and the need for emotional unity. Nor are they driven by the material, seeking the groundedness in the world around them. Sure, air signs can be passionate about their projects, they can be dreamers, they can be builders... but they're almost shapeshifting throughout their journey of life to try to fully experience whatever mental inkling they have at a given moment.

A MAGNET-LIKE RELATIONSHIP: TAYLOR SWIFT AND TRAVIS KELCE SYNASTRY ANALYSIS
Taylor Swift surprised the pop culture world once again with a new relationship, this time during a Venus retrograde as opposed to Mercury retrograde. So let's look at the requested synastry post on the pop star and her new boo, the NFL player, Travis Kelce.
I've already talked about Taylor's chart in relation to love and relationships in THIS POST if you want to check it out. When it comes to Travis, unfortunately we don't have his birth time (I know, I know) but we can at least look at aspects. He was born just 2 months before Taylor so all the generational aspects will be the same and they both share the infamous Cancer Jupiter-Capricorn Saturn opposition. Jupiter and Saturn going against each other can bring issues with faith and with feeling the sense of purpose in life, a demanding character, legal issues and having the mindset of "no pain no gain" that can lead to overworking oneself. It is a very clashy aspect to have in a natal chart and I'm wondering if it's good that they share it or actually VERY bad for them long-term because it just gets enhanced. If we strip away the lovey-dovey, some might say "shallow" personal planet synastry aspects and the Jupiter-Saturn eventually comes to the surface, this may show as disagreements in political views, worlview in general, conflicting schedules, priorities etc. On top of that, natally he has it t-squared by Sun and Mars, both in a bad shape dignity-vise. I don't know how this would relate to his love life, I guess depends on which houses these planets rule/occupy, but this can indicate that he may be someone who sometimes has to be lead by the hand (like I always see headlines that include his monther and brother in the narrative, that could be it). Or someone who switches between "I'm gonna do what is expected of me" when he's feeling virtuous and "I'm gonna go against everyone" when he's having a hissy fit. Potentially because he doesn't have a strong identity that he believes in (depends on his rising sign).
Makes sense then that he's a literal sports team player - people like him often have to work in a group where they collectively make a cohesive entity. Now a Libra can also be a great team player in a romantic relationship. He has a lovely Mercury-Venus sextile, which probably makes him very affectionate and open with his feelings, he proabably just likes the topic of love and relationships in general. Now without the exact time of birth, I don't know if his Moon is closer to squaring Mercury or sextling his Sun and Mars… Either way a heavily aspected Moon would talk about someone with strongly developed emotional side, potentially someone who can be pretty amorous and touchy. And someone with a strong sense of routine.
Tumblr media
Okay but their synastry... Good? Bad? In between?
The first thing that pops out is his Scorpio Venus being right on top of her Scorpio rising (speculative but I'd say 95% probable) AND Scorpio Mars. Both love planets coming together in a 1° conjunction? Oooooffff! Hot. Steamy. Spicy. As well as them sharing luminaries in Sagittarius: him with his Moon and her with her Sun. Very nice, yin and yang coming together, that's a classic synastry aspect that is the base of sympathy and friendship. Both of these aspects are very alluring to one another, they're like two magnets that are pulled towards each other. With his Venus being on her ascendant as well, it's no surprise they're so showy with their affections, they also probably find each other very attractive. Both of these aspects are extremely bonding. And full of rushed actions, rapidly developed feelings and a good amount of sexual tension - this is far from being "slow and steady, let's see where this goes", it's more so "I'm yours. NOW". But also, with the support of other aspects, very harmonious emotionally and caring - Moon will cheer on the Sun and vice versa, especially in a fun and optimistic Sagittarius - this is literally becoming the cheerleader archetype that I always associate with Sagi and Jupiter. Plus, heart eyes big time.
These conjunctions are really what keeps this going as honestly there's not much besides that. Their Mercuries are in a sign-based trine, which is nice, they probably talk A LOT. Their Suns are in a sign-based sextile, on the most basic campatibility level that is very good. Her natally unaspected Aquarius Venus remains kind of unaspected, but what saves the situation is the sign-based trine to his Libra planets that fit the airy energy - a trine like this should be helpful on a more social level and the way they present themselves together to the world. We get a somewhat of a double whammy with his Mars trining her Venus within 9° orb so they have Venus-Mars aspect both ways. It should be good for the romanticism, attraction and intimate life.
The potential problem can lay in her having the upper hand here - with her Sun and his Moon, she's the one with the masculine energy. Same with her powerful domicile Mars being on top of his Venus. I guess it depends on his disposition and it may connect with his ego and drive - the energetic Sun and Mars - having low dignity in Libra. Like, is he really the type of person who can take the back seat and be lead by the other person or will he eventually start to crave some control and power, which he surely will not get standing next to 2023's Person of the Year. Or will he make up for it with his manly alpha look? (Which, interestingly, this is the first time Taylor dates someone like that, am I right? I recall her always dating soft boys lol).
But they also have another double whammy: Sun square Mercury both ways. This is v interesting. This usually shows up as differences in opinions and beliefs (which we talked about earlier) and issues around communication, schedules and everyday matters. As well as critiquing each other's opinions and routines. "That does not sit well with me and/or my worldview" is how a Mercury square Sun would talk. I feel like IF this relationship ends, it can go sour due to misunderstandings and clashing opinions.
Even visually, it's no doubt that their synastry looks wild. I guess it's the nature of both of their natal charts, which are not easy. Having natal oppositions of slower-moving planets, underlining that opposition through synastry and then coming with (seemingly) compatible Libra placements that t-square all of that. It is a tough slow burn.
I'm looking for a right word for this synastry. It's definitely not a fun, lighthearted and cheery one like the one she had with Matty. That one had a lot of Sun-Venus-Jupiter activity, which is very bright and positive. This one is very saturnian and martian. So it's kind of heavy. Bonding and fast-moving but heavy.

THE GRAMMYS AKA IT'S SAGI SEASON, I GUESS?
With Moon transiting Sagittarius during the night of the Grammy awards, all the archers in the room sweeped their awards and stole the show… for good and for bad. That night Mercury ingressed into Aquarius, making its conjunction with Pluto so the drama has to be present and it's still an active discourse on social media.
Miley's first Grammy
This year Miley won her first Grammy (two, actually). The massive delay in her receiving an award might be linked to her having Saturn in the 10th house natally. Her Saturn return ended a year ago so it only fits that now's the time for her to solidify her work and have an offical stamp of approval.
Let's look at her transits for the night. She's in her Jupiter-ruled profection year so Jupiter transits will be crucial for her. The planet of luck is currently transiting Taurus - her 1st whole sign house and the house of her natal lot of fortune. It's in a relatively close degree to her Capricorn Venus, making a supportive trine. On top of that, she actually just went through her Venus return in the 9th house so we get somewhat of a double whammy for her.
This is what Billie was made for...
Now let's look at Billie Eilish, who's been sweeping awards pretty much since she released her first album but her chart is worth looking at as well. First of all, her having both Sun and Venus in her 10th house next to the MC should already tell us that she has, in fact, very high chances of being recognized by people in authority - so, the music academy as well - and just being generally liked and positively received. And speaking of the 10th house, last year she went through her 10th house profection year in Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter in her natal 5th. And during this time she created something that will be remembered by a lot of people. Pretty neat.
Currently she's in her 11th house profection year. She has Mercury in that house in Capricorn so transiting Jupiter is trining it by sign. And, just like Miley, Billie has her lot of fortune in Taurus as well. Very interesting. Look out for Jupiter transiting the sign of your lot of fortune then!
In terms of the song itself. The general story was that she felt a massive creative block and she was afraid she won't write anything interesting ever again but then her and Finneas forced themselves to sit on a Barbie song and it came out just like that. Now, I've managed to catch an ig story from her, celebrating an anniversary of when they wrote it: it was January 16-17th 2023, only one day before Mercury stationed direct and a few days after Mars stationed direct. That should speak for itself when it comes to any type of a creative block as retrograde planets can often make you feel stuck.
I think no matter what, her Venus on the MC will always shine through and she will keep on presenting that venusian grace and beauty through her craft. Creative blocks should be no enemy for her as this is what she was made for.
Taylor wins an award but looses in the eyes of people
Taylor Swift won album of the year. She seems to win almost every time she's nominated so she's clearly one of the Grammy favorites. But what is interesting is that, just like Miley and Billie, she has her lot of fortune in… you've guessed it, Taurus! I think just having the lot being ruled by a benefic planet is the first step to success.
She also has a Capricorn inner planet and that is Mercury at 8° - so again, Jupiter is currently making a trine. And on top of that, Mercury is her time lord for the year since she's in her 11th house profection in Virgo. She's also receiving a very supportive trine from Saturn to her natal Jupiter, which generally supports her being recognized during this time.
BUT. I've mentioned that the night of the ceremony Mercury entered Aquarius and got dangerously close to Pluto. This was the first and one of the many coming hits of Pluto charged with other planets to Taylor's natal Venus, which sits right at the very beginning of the sign. And there was drama and the drama will continue and I do believe this it the beginning of something bigger for her. Pluto can bring polarities, it can bring massive success and clout but it can also bring a huge downfall. I honestly doubt someone who sells out stadiums would suddenly loose their popularity but as many people have said since the Grammys, some sort of veil has been lifted and I'm suspecting more and more people will start point fingers at her and her actions: from acting inappropriate and being egocentric to things like contributing to carbon footprint or being silent when it comes to global and socio-political issues. So sure, Pluto on her Venus might make her even more rich (I know she still has the european leg of the tour left) but she may as well loose face at the same time.
Mercury in Sagittarius is strong with Jay-Z
Now another Sagittarius I wanted to tackle is Jay-Z, who, in his Sagi Mercury fashion, said what everyone wanted to say and threw a massive shade at the Grammy voting system and just... them being shite in general. We're not 100% sure of his birth time and his transits don't necessary scream "WINNER!" at this time BUT: if he is, in fact, a Virgo rising, his time lord for the year is Jupiter and currently Jupiter would transit his 9th house, where his Saturn is in Taurus. That is still very supportive as 9th house is one of the houses of the greats and Jupiter transiting over Saturn honors the legacy and achievements - and that is what he was recognized for with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award.
Let's quickly discuss some other non-Sagi winners
Victoria Monét won in a cuple of categories. She's a Leo rising with Sun in… Taurus in the 10th house. So, once again, Jupiter did its thing.
SZA was also among the winners. She has quite a few planets in her 10t house so I feel like either way success is guaranteed for her. When it comes to transits, Jupiter did influence her as well: trining Capricorn Venus and Saturn, opposing her Scorpio placements and sextiling her Moon and Jupiter. She is also in a Jupiter-ruled profection year. Interestingly, she debuted a new song titled "Saturn". Very fitting for an Aquarius rising.
Jack Antonoff being the goat
Actually he's a double ram but his Jupiter is… up on the highest heights of MC in Capricorn. So, a literal goat as well… slowly climbing to success.
His chart does scream "CREATIVITY!!!!" (an exalted Venus? A cardinal rising? An Aries stellium? Being born on a New Moon? What else do you need?). His chart is also very strong- and stable-looking. He's been awarded for quite a few things over the years, which, with planetary placements like these, it makes total sense for him to be one of the favorites. This year, the supportive trine from Jupiter to his natal Jupiter was just an extra dose of help in receiving a Grammy. This, as well as a transiting stellium through his 10th house.
The snub of the night?
Considering the amount of nominations for this year's awards, the biggest snub seems to be Olivia Rodrigo. So let's take a look at her chart. Interestingly - and at this point I am no longer surprised - her lot of fortune is also in Taurus with the ruler Venus in Capricorn. Her time lord for the year is Mercury and her natal Mercury is in Aquarius - currently squared by Jupiter. In her case, that square from a benefic can cause more harm than good, since she has a natal oppositions of thse two planets. This tense transit can actually unleash unnecessary hate and preachiness towards her. Saturn is still hanging near her Sun, which obviously can dampen things a lot. So, she seemed to have a great 2023 but some things are not quite perfect after all.
Let's compare it to 2022's Grammys to see transits for her big wins that year. Jupiter was still in Pisces, where her natal Sun is and that Sun was her time lord, which is very important here. She also had Saturn trining her natal Saturn, which helps being supported and recognized by those with authority. A great transit to sweep these awards.

TAYLOR SWIFT'S AND MATTY HEALY'S SYNASTRY CHART AND WHY THINGS TURNED OUT… THE WAY THEY DID
Just a few weeks ago I was hyped for their alleged relationship, despite having worries about the Mercury retrograde and how it'll affect it… and now the internet's telling me they've broken up? (not surprised). Let's look at their synastry either way.
Let's examine Taylor's chart first, because no synastry should be looked at without prior analyze of the people's natal charts.
Tumblr media
(I'm looking at the Scorpio rising chart as opposed to the old one that had Capricorn rising, as I feel like it's much more accurate - and the source seemed more eligible).
So the first thing that jumps forward is her Scorpio rising with a domicile Mars right on the ascendant. This shows someone who's direct but also jumps into situations quickly. Despite it being a rather cautious Scorpio (and she sure is, in regard to her career), she seems so dive head first into situations concerning personal life. This is highlighted by her being a Sagittarius Sun (yay for impulsive actions!) and, basically, a walking opposition - as you can tell from looking at her chart - that has a push and pull effect. Her Venus (which also rules her 7th house), is in Aquarius, generally unaspected, which can point to her not having any anchor point for her relationships nor her overall affections - any tangible attachments then may disappear into the aether, turning into ties that seem to be lacking in something, especially it being in airy Aquarius that can swing between being curious and fixed in feelings to being somewhere in the clouds, dreaming of a perfect romance that actually doesn't exist and the bubble suddenly bursts. Now, I said Venus is generally unaspected (by any ptolemaic aspect, that is) but I can't help but notice the exact quincunx to her Cancer Moon - weird romantic choices is what this screams (remember when she started dating Tom Hiddleston and people thought it was bizzare? Exactly). Pair it Moon opposite Uranus and Mercury and this can bring sudden changes in feelings that come from nowhere; not knowing what one wants or an overall feeling of emotional discomfort that stays unresolved for a long time (it's like you feel resentment but you don't really know why).
Tumblr media
Now let's look at Matty. His chart looks more "sharp-tongued sweetheart" to me than anything. We have a lovely Taurus rising with exalted Moon in the 1st as well as an exalted Aries Sun, smashed together with Mercury and Venus. Charming and a creative combo, although not only it is placed in the 12th house of doom and gloom but both of his benefics (Venus and Jupiter) are in their exiles, which can show struggles finding true happiness and inner fullfillment. His 7th house ruler, Mars, is in Gemini, rescued by an applying sextile with Sun and co-present with Jupiter, but generally speaking, it being placed in the 2nd house + having Venus in the 12th, it may bring issues with tangibility of his relationships (or the availability of them, if that makes sense). Lovely but a tormented soul, I'd say (like didn't Halsey write Colors about him? Makes sense).
Now with that in mind, let's look at their synastry, which btw, I LOVE.
Two main things that popped into my head when I first heard they're together were: a Sagittarius Sun with an Aries Sun and opposite rising signs. Perfect, the chemistry and the sense of a romantic adventure should be off the charts. Not that I'm biased but a Sagittarius and Aries are like a match made in heaven. Their Suns are actually making a 3° aspect but her Sun is also trining the rest of his Aries planets, which is lovely. Sun trine Venus is a very sweet and supportive energy - from now on your mental image of the aspect should be Matty (Venus) watching Taylor (Sun) on stage, admiring her and singing along to her songs. Her own Venus, on the other hand, not only compatible with his fire and air placements, but having a direct support from a trine to his Jupiter (!). Again, think of Jupiter as the cheerleader - uplifting Venus, bringing out the fluffy feelings. On top of that, they both have beautifully placed Moons, not only compatible with a sign-based sextile but one is exalted and the other is in its domicile. Now that's what I call a healthy mutual emotional fullfillment.
We also have that combo of Moon/ascendant opposite Mars/ascendant, which normally would bring out the passionate feelings and the "can't take my eyes and hands off of you" type of vibe.
BUT. POTENTIALLY that can also bring trouble.
Matty has a day chart, which means his out-of-sect malefic, the planet that will bring him more trouble, is Mars. She's putting her Mars on his angle and on top of that, it's the 7th house, which is the house of other people and open enemies. She triggered the hate coming from the outside towards him.
We also have Taylor's Jupiter making an opposition to his Saturn (which, she has that aspect natally so it highlights its effect) - this can bring roadblocks to happiness or even blame and judgment that comes from the public's scrutinity (which apparently did happen).
Sun opposite Mars can also bring out some longevity troubles. It's two strong planets butting heads, each trying to have its final say and each trying to be independent as both are kind of "look at me" type of scenario. Now, it doesn't have to mean there were some disputes but both could eventually pull in their own directions and break the tie out of exhaustion. It's because both Sun and Mars are very vibrant and energetic and with an opposition, the energy might've drop very fast. Magnetism is surely there with an aspect like this, but there's a high possibility that the romance battery can die quickly.
Unfortunately - and I was hoping this wouldn't affect them but it did - they allegedly started dating when Mercury was retrograde, co-present with Uranus and during an eclipse season - all in Taylor's 7th house and Matty's 1st house. So, it affected the area of her relationships and him overall, on a personal level. The 1st-7th axis work similarly in that manner as a new relationship often directly affects the person. Now, it doesn't have to be Venus retrograde to have a failed attempt at a relationship - you can as well have any other planet (mainly personal) retrograde in your 7th house and you get the same effect. So, as Mercury went direct, the lovey-dovey haze has evaporated, someone sobered up and the pair went their separate ways (or at least that's what they're making us believe).

NEPTUNE-PLUTO UNDERWATER HELLSCAPE: TITANIC, THE TITAN SUB, JAMES CAMERON AND HOW THEY'RE ALL CONNECTED
If you're somehow not up to date, during this past week, all media was flooded with news coverage about the missing submarine (or, rather, a submersible... or rather, a big feeble can that didn't really quite get any certification to officially function) that was supposed to take a trip 3700 meters down the ocean to see the Titanic's wreck.
Well, four days later and it was stated the sub imploded.
Also, everything Titanic-related is back on everyone's lips. And so is James Cameron. It shouldn't be a surprise, yet it's still pretty eerie, all these things are connected astrologically-speaking.
But let's take it back to the beginning.
Titanic's sinking
Titanic sank during the night from April 14th to 15th 1912 just two days before a solar eclipse at 27° Aries that was square Neptune in Cancer. It was also almost Mercury cazimi during its retrograde phase. So not only we had a moment of big things that bring a darkening of some sorts or a purge (eclipse), it was also tightly paired with a retrograde Mercury, which usually warns of travel issues and a square from Neptune - which can mean things unseen and fogginess. Neptune was also in Cancer, which is obviously a water sign - and we're met with an iceberg that pops up out of nowhere in the fog, while we're charging Aries-style full speed ahead - all that despite receiving multiple warnings of sea ice ahead of the ship - warnings that somehow never reached the ship's bridge.
Tumblr media
The cherry on top is Moon in Pisces (again, in a water sign) squaring Pluto in Gemini at 27°. Now remember those degrees cause they are going to pop up again later on.
We can also point to an exiled Venus in Aries applying to a square with a fallen Mars in Cancer - and keep in mind that watery Mars was the dispositor of the eclipse. I also sometimes like to look at quincunxes cause they often bring an unpleasant and uncomfortable situations that sneak up on you out of nowhere. So let's also point out the Mars-Uranus quincunx that was happening at that time. A bizzare case of severing that is.
James Cameron and his fascination with the Titanic
Tumblr media
I'm sad to say James' chart is untimed so we can't really dissect it but let's just take a quick glance.
He is a Leo Sun conjunct Mercury and Pluto in sextile with Neptune, which talks about his love for grandiose and cinematography but also about how detailed in his work he is. That love for detail has more of an element of deep exploration - figuratively, through world-building but also literally through scientific expeditions. Pluto's influence makes him really put things under the microscope and treating it surgical precision.
But what I really like in his chart is his Moon-Jupiter mutual reception that actually forms a trine (unfortunately we don't know the exact orb). That is just a VERY good aspect to have and one that not only can bring popularity but one that makes the person dream BIG. Now, his Moon is somewhere in the 3rd decan of Pisces - remember it's the exact same Moon position as Titanic's catastrophy (deep connection with Titanic's story). His Jupiter, on the other hand, is just 3° away from where Neptune was in April of 1912 (learning about and exploring the underwater mystery of Titanic).
On top of that his curious Sagittarius Mars is opposite Titanic's Pluto at, surprise, surprise, 27°.
New Moon summoning Pluto's ghost
Tumblr media
(Time set for the supposed submergence at 8am, Titanic wreck's coordinates)
So let's get to that poor Titan.
Titan started its dive the Sunday morning of June 18th. If you track transits or, at least, the Moon cycle, you may recall a New Moon took place that exact Sunday morning. New Moon that squared Pisces Neptune at 27°. It also made a 3° quincunx to Pluto, which just barely moved back into Capricorn.
Now remember the degrees from Titanic's sinking? Pluto was at 27° of Gemini - the New Moon happened at 26° of Gemini. The Titanic's Moon was at roughly 25° Pisces - current degree of Neptune is 27 Pisces. Interestingly, Neptune would oscillate around that degree for a couple of years now - exactly since OceanGate started their expeditions - they tried to get to the heart (Moon) of Titanic's wreck but were doing it in an unsafe way, teetering somewhere on the edge of it being illegal (Neptune).
You'd think some of the malefics (or both!) should be present when it comes to tragedies like these, but instead we get Pluto and Neptune, which makes sense. Pluto is obviously death and destruction but is also the underworld, the depth (not just metaphorical) - mix it with the literal element of the Neptunian waters - the ocean - and the unknown, the mystery, the overlooked weak details and faults - and we get a bizzare accident in the deep seas.
Saturn in Pisces and death in the water
I also quickly glanced at the chart of one of the passengers, Hamish Harding, and coudn't help but notice he was just going through his Saturn return in watery Pisces. Not only that but that Saturn was natally squared by Gemini Mars with just around a 0°05’ orb.
Saturn is death, restrain, depression, rigid environment and again, Pisces is a water sign. Mars brings suddenness, violence, cutting, explosions (paired with the pressure of Saturn - an implosion, actually). It being in Gemini, it's travel and exploration. A very violent and gruesome aspect, he probably would hurt himself somehow sooner or later (IF he didn't already in the past).
(Of course, remember that just because you have a tense Mars-Saturn aspect doesn't mean you'll die a violent death or anything. But DO be careful. Nevertheless this is great empirical study).
He did seem to have a heart of an adventurer and an explorer, with Moon in the last decan of Sagittarius* as well as Venus and Mercury* late in Gemini (not exactly 27° but very close to that). Unfortunately the New Moon that happened on these points in his chart, paired with it happening on the Pluto degree from Titanic's sinking, has resulted in a tragedy.
*there's a tiny chance his Moon could as well be at 0° Capricorn and Mercury at 0° Cancer, just to be clear. But I do think they were probably at the Sag-Gemini axis. If his Moon was around the 27°, it'd be almost creepy
