I think in his mid teenaged years Eddie gets caught at school with drugs and it's a big deal. The police and his uncle are called, and people talk about it for months before it finally calms down (and Eddie had a whole new list of buyers, but he keeps that information to himself)
Wayne watches as his nephew smooth talks his way out of a bad situation - Hopper letting the boy off with a stern warning and telling him not to do this kinds of favors for people anymore, because next time he can't turn a blind eye to it - and seeing Eddie's father in ever word that day. He's surprised he managed not to lose it in the middle of the town in front of everyone.
I think their conversation once they got home would go something like this.
***********************
Eddie tried to slam his bedroom door shut but Wayne was a fraction of a second faster. His knuckles cracked against the frame from the force of it before he threw the door back open, following his nephew into the cramped space. “Are you kidding me right now?! You lied to a cop. I don’t ever want to find out you’re lying to the police again. Especially Chief Hopper. Do you hear me?! You might be able to convince him but you can’t-”
Eddie spun to face him, brown eyes wide and bright with unshed tears. His lip trembled as he took a shaking breath but he stood up straight, not looking away. “Wayne, please, it was a mistake and a misunderstanding. I am begging you, please believe me.”
“No. I don’t want to hear it, Eddie. I am sick and tired of the excuses. You’re grounded, you got that?”
“But Uncle Wayne, I-”
“No. Absolutely not.” He fought to keep himself from shaking but he couldn’t keep it out of his voice. “You’re grounded, Eddie. No staying out late, no wandering off with your friends for hours on end, none of it. You can still have your Hellfire meetings here on Fridays but only here and I am going to be in the trailer the whole time to make sure you aren’t getting yourself into any more trouble. You can use the phone to call your friends and tell them to cover your parts or cancel all your shows for the foreseeable future because there are no more shows at The Hideout.”
“W-wait-”
“No.” Wayne shouted to cut him off. “I already told you I don’t want to hear it. The only words I want to hear out of your mouth are ‘Yes sir.’”
Eddie blinked in surprise, unable to stop the tears that finally spilled over. “Y-yes sir.”
“Good. I’ll call you when it’s time for dinner. Calm yourself down before you try to call your friends.” Wayne grabbed the door knob, swinging the door shut harder than he would ordinarily allow. The fight with Tommy Hagan a few years ago started a chain reaction of people looking sideways at them in town, this was sure to make things a lot worse.
*************************
This is a big deal too. Wayne doesn't really get angry with the kid. Frustrated at time, for sure. but never outwardly angry. Eddie doesn't know how to react, he's never been in this much trouble and he doesn't know what to do.
That's just one of my many takes, anyway. :)

I’m not sure if you do anons but if you do and If it’s available could I be- 🐙?
(I’m 19 years old)
hi anon, of course you can be 🐙
(also thank you for specifying your age, that's very sweet of you but not necessary. i'm going to trust my anons that they're over 18)
gosh lets see what i can pull up as a follow up for this post. i'll have to dig into my murky memories to see if i can remember where it was going (or maybe to drag up some inspiration).
TW: unspecified intoxication, nausea mention (but no vomit), dubcon touching (johnny doesn't ask before touching the reader character, and the reader character can't consent anyway).
pairing: john mactavish x female reader

you're sat on the kitchen floor, cool tiles bleeding the slightly feverish heat from your body, propping yourself up against the cabinet behind you. you stomach roils and you take a careful breath through your nose.
"y'alright there, hen?"
you blink open your eyes hazily, not entirely sure when they dropped closed, to look up at one of the men from the living room. did he follow you? where's your friend? you swallow and shake your head carefully. the kitchen blurs and spins around you so you close your eyes again.
"easy, easy. don't want ye makin' yerself sick now."
you feel two calloused palms cradle your face, a thumb strokes your cheekbone lightly sending a burst of heat and static up into your temple.
"m'gonna be sick." you manage to slur out through numb lips but the hands don't pull away.
"naw, yer no'. just need a drink of water is all, hen." one of the hands moves away from your hot face and you feel something cool and smooth nudge your lower lip. you blink your rolling eyes open so you can focus on the glass of water - is it water? - under your nose.
the man tilts your head back slightly and you sip carefully. the water washes away the slightly sour taste in your mouth and you hum to let this helpful stranger know you're done for now.
"good girl, well done." your helpful stranger practically purrs at you as he removes the glass from your lips. you feel his thumb swipe at a bead of water in the corner of your mouth and your world tilts slightly on its axis again. maybe you should ask him to stop touching you now, but you feel like you'll shatter into pieces without the anchor of his palm on your cheek and the thumb that's now resting on your bottom lip.
"is that right?" he asks sounding amused. oh, you must've mumbled some of that out loud. you blink at your stranger, wondering if his eyes really are that blue. who is he anyway? did he follow you? where's your friend?
"'m johnny. i saw you go out into the kitchen. your friend..." he pauses briefly and you're fascinated by the way his lips twitch as he contemplates the words he wants to say. you want to touch the stubble on his jaw. "is a wee bit busy at the moment. so i thought i'd better check on you."
you hum, you know what busy means. and oh, you must've asked him your questions out loud again. you don't know if that's a good thing so you close your heavy eyelids again. maybe that will help you keep your thoughts inside your head.
"hey, c'mon hen. you cannae fall asleep here." johnny taps your lip to get your attention. "let's get you somewhere more comfortable."
you mumble something half formed and garbled about not wanting to see whatever it is your friend is doing with the other men in the living room and johnny huffs a quiet laugh.
"naw, naw. c'mon i'll put you up in my room, how does that sound?"
that sounds pretty good. so you let johnny manoeuvre your uncooperative body upwards and trust him to guide you out of the kitchen in your haze.
you miss whatever he says to the hulking figure in the doorway as you focus on keeping your feet in contact with the floor but you're very aware of the way his hand on your waist burns like a brand.
somewhere in the back of your mind a tiny shrill voice warns you about something before it gets washed away. maybe you'll remember after having a lie down.

|| Matthew & Duncan ||
Even though he now had an actual employee in the store, Duncan still did all of the errands personally. Mostly because some errands were quite difficult to explain and give instructions for. Aside from restoring old furniture pieces, procuring misplaced or homeless art, retouching damaged paintings or completing rare sets of collector’s items, Duncan was quite good at finding and acquiring other things as well. As long as it was rare, in one way or another mystical and difficult to obtain, Duncan found it to be enough of a challenge to have him drawn out of his store in attempts to track it down. This may also sometimes include things that were somewhat beyond Duncan’s specialty, but not out of his reach as far as he could help it.
So, after a brief research on the infamous belladonna, or more commonly known as the deadly nightshade, which was the main ingredient of the item he now had in an inconspicuous paper bag like it were nothing more than some random groceries from a grocery store, Duncan made his way out of the night market, efficient and brief with his errand as always. The jar of the Sleeping Death, a type of poison whose recipe was almost lost and forgotten to most herbalists and poison makers, would soon find a buyer, already pre-ordered for purposes Duncan didn’t inquire about. After all, means to cause death were of little concern to one who’d already experienced his own.
However, on his way back he got sidetracked, which was quite rare since nothing could drag Duncan’s attention away unless he allowed it to. A face he knew had just stepped out of a shop further down the street Duncan had stepped on, a face he fancied he could see some features on that he could also recognize in himself. This wasn’t the first time Duncan had seen Matthew Baudelaire, a young man coming from a long line of an intricately branching family tree Duncan was intimately familiar with. There was once a very brief week in the past when Duncan had passed through Greywood, lingering only temporarily, when he’d stalked the Baudelaire family home without ever being detected and noticed a few children playing in the backyard, rambunctious and loud, which was typical of most little ones. The mop of unruly curls was as memorable then as it was now. The next time he’d found Matthew when he moved back to Greywood more permanently, Duncan had no problem matching that child’s face to its adult version. Now, it was well committed to memory.
However, what piqued Duncan’s interest even more was the man who'd followed after Matthew, coming out of the store behind him to continue whatever deceptively friendly chatter they’d engaged in before their transaction was done. Well, at least the man was trying to be friendly with Matthew, the guy a real schmoozer, one of those hustling street peddlers who’d talk to you like they were selling you fog even when all you’ve asked them was how they’ve been lately. Duncan knew that face too. He never forgot a face. It was a face that once saw Duncan’s crisp suit and eye-catching silver pocket watch chain and perceived a chance to lighten Duncan’s wallet for a few dollar bills. Needless to say, nothing the man had tried to sell him had managed to catch Duncan’s interest. After all, he had no need of a dealer of any kind, unless what they dealt with was a potential Rembrandt, a piece by Sheraton or a collection of an old volume set. But apparently, Matthew’s search did involve a dealer of exactly this sort, much to Duncan’s mild surprise. However, it wasn’t a smart choice to put this sort of trust onto this specific fellow and that Duncan was very well aware of. It took the old vampire only one conversation with the man to know that he was decidedly not the right person to do any ‘business’ with.

I don’t think I’ve ever really uploaded the very specific version of Yakou I had in my mind since like July, so, here it goes. ✨
✨ Yakou Furio Headcannons Two ; Electric Boogaloo !! ✨
( This is going to include both the Rain Code era of Yakou, and my little spinoff AUs / Devil’s Deal and Project Ninjin 💕 )
( CW ; Drug Usage !! Mental Health !! Trauma !! )
✨ Rain Code Era !! ✨
✨ Yakou does actually have an apartment in Kanai Ward, but he doesn’t really go back there too often. He and his wife both lived there, so being in a place that has practically been untouched since her death really stirs up a lot of sad feelings, so he avoids it as best as he can. He promises that one day he’ll clean it up and move back, but it never ends well when he’s there by himself for too long.
✨ He’s the youngest of three siblings ( and also the tallest ) !! He’s also the only one that lives in Kanai Ward. His mom moved across the world to her hometown, and his siblings live in various places around the world. He’s always wanted to visit his mom, but given the travel restrictions in Kanai Ward, it’s near to impossible to get out of there.
✨ He owned rabbits growing up !! He has a keepsake of rabbit feet in his desk somewhere, from all the previous rabbits he owned. He would gladly have another pet, but it doesn’t feel right to have a larger animal that needs to go outside on the submarine, and he barely has enough money to take care of himself, much less another living thing.
✨ Literally the worst smoker’s cough, also really bad sleep apnea. No, he’s not going to a doctor for it. Lots of waking up in the middle of the night to cough and clear his throat. Yakou doesn’t really get restful sleep, but he’s kind of used to it at this point. It’s part of the reason why he sleeps in so late.
✨ Has always loved the rain, he’s one of the few people that doesn’t get tired of it raining in Kanai Ward, still jumps in rain puddles when he passes by them. :))
✨ Has super bad eating habits, and rarely ever eats unless he feels like he’s starving.
✨ He’s pretty lanky, tends to trip over his own limbs. His body is soft, and he’s not very toned, especially in his hips and stomach. He definitely has muscle in his arms, chest, and shoulders, but he tends to get sore easily, and doesn’t really want to do lots of heavy lifting. He hasn’t really needs to for years.
✨ He’s probably good enough to protect himself at self defense, he can walk away from a fight, but he does get pretty banged and bruised up.
✨ He does actually need glasses, but the ones he’s wearing aren’t prescription, they’re just his late wife!s regular old sunglasses, so he tends to squint. Don’t call him out on it though, he’ll deny he needs them until the day he dies.
✨ Does not take care of himself medically speaking either, he will avoid going to the doctor at all costs, even if he’s sick. Fortunately for him, he has a rather good immune system, so it’s rare for him to get sick, but he does have unmanaged and overlooked medical conditions.
✨ Has four tattoo pieces, two half sleeves on his upper arms of flowers, his signature chest and stomach tattoo, and one on the back to match the front !!
✨ Main choice in pajamas is his suit pants, he hasn’t gone back to his apartment for any, and doesn’t really set aside money to buy more.
✨ I’ve personally always seen Yakou as cisgender ( though I definitely experiment with Trans! Yakou and love the idea of that ), and he is closeted biromantic / bisexual, disaster bi energy. He definitely tries to be as supportive of queer people as he can, but admittedly, being an older queer person, he’s a bit out of the loop on some things.
✨ I headcannon Yakou being forty - one at the time of Rain Code !! Has grey hairs for sure, though he doesn’t feel like he’s aged much since his late thirties. Doesn’t really have any sort of wrinkles yet.
( Now We’ve Reached Lop AU Territory !! )
✨ Devil’s Deal Era !! ✨
✨ Yakou is so mentally ill and unwell. Much more hardened than Rain Code! Yakou for sure.
✨ The OG! Yakou, human Yakou, non - homunculus Yakou !!
✨ Definitely gotten much better at self defense, though due to untreated trauma among other things, his fuse is much shorter. He’s bordering on paranoid at this point, and knows that people are out to get him, so he’s quick to react when he’s anxious or cornered.
✨ Unfortunately took up a lot of drugs during this era, it really adds to his paranoia and temperament, as well as his overall health. Also does a lot of chain smoking, it’s more of a coping mechanism at this point.
✨ Avoids doctors and hospitals like the plague, he genuinely will do whatever it takes to not have to go to the hospital, and really gets into home remedies and such to try and clear up any sicknesses. Keeps a first aid kit in his car to take care of injuries, and has definitely made splints for his fingers and even his leg at one point.
✨ Gets a few scars, ranging from one across his nose, one on his jawline, a few on his torso, a couple on his arms and legs, and a rune scar on his neck ( due to making a deal with the devil ).
✨ His sunglasses end up getting broken, and he doesn’t stop wearing them. It’s a reminder to keep going in the situation that he’s in, even though the cracks in the lenses obscure his vision, and by the end of Devil’s Deal, he’s just wearing the frames, because the lenses get busted out. It’s a comfort item to him.
✨ One of the few survivors of the Blank Week Mystery, he ended up escaping with a few others, and they live in an apartment complex together for awhile, until he makes a deal with the devil. Admittedly, he wasn’t the most badass survivor, and partially thanks dumb luck for making it out alive. It wasn’t really lots of fighting on his way out, more so just keeping quiet and knowing when to time his movements.
✨ Was a bartender again for awhile, and genuinely enjoyed his job this time around, especially after surviving what he did and going through the things he went through.
✨ Definitely exhibits symptoms of PTSD, depression, anxiety, paranoia, and substance abuse disorder.
✨ He becomes much thinner and definitely more dehydrated after awhile, his skin sticks to his bones and muscle, making him seem a little more toned if you don’t look close enough. Though, upon further examination, you can definitely tell he’s extremely unhealthy, with his hands showing it the most, due to his fingernails being unhealthy and the inability to find the veins in his hands and arms, and his breathing problems being much worse.
✨ Honestly so much more grouchy than the Yakou we know, especially nearing the end of this arc, but he’s just having a tough time in general throughout this entire arc.
✨ Project Ninjin Era !! ✨
✨ He’s now reached the age of 42, yippee !!
✨ Still struggling with mental illness, but has built up a wall, so while he’s definitely still very aloof, he still manages to have somewhat genuine interactions with people, especially Yui, but you can definitely tell that he’s trying to keep himself emotionally distanced from many people.
✨ This is the first time in years he’s had a comfortable home to sleep in, though he finds it almost too comfortable, too girly, too soft. But yeah, the image of Yakou sleeping in Yui’s office / guest bedroom, surrounded by all these frilly throw pillows, heaps of blankets, and stuffed bunnies is hysterical.
✨ Finally gets actual glasses !! He keeps the same frame shape, but he now has glasses that fit his head better and actually feel comfortable to wear, rather than digging into his head and nose. He ends up getting the transitional lenses too, so they get darker in the sunlight, but lighter when not in the light.
✨ Actually gets a lighter wardrobe with more breathable fabrics and such, especially since Ninjin Meadows is much warmer than Kanai Ward, and now has actual pajamas that consists of either old thrifted band tees or regular baggy shirts with flannel pants or his boxers.
✨ Starts going to the doctor at the constant insistence of Yui, eventually gets referred to a therapist for his mental health, as well as a primary care doctor, where he learns that he actually does struggle with sleep apnea, COPD, and one of his knees had healed incorrectly, so now he is encouraged to wear a knee brace / wrap to help support it due to the muscle and bone damage.
✨ Still has a complicated relationship with food, because he didn’t really eat unless he had to before coming to Ninjin Meadows, so his cues on when he’s hungry isn’t something he really picks up on anymore, but Yui definitely makes sure he eats at least two meals a day.
✨ You can definitely tell that he gets healthier during this arc, he’s more capable with helping Yui out with heavy lifting and builds back his upper body muscle ( especially in his arms, shoulders, and chest ). He also mentions that it feels like he’s gaining weight back, and while he’s initially upset about it, he eventually embraces it, getting somewhat of a a dad bod.
✨ Really shows off his skills in taking care of rabbits during this arc !!
✨ Stops smoking cigarettes, but has definitely never given up on smoking weed.
✨ Eventually gets a CPAP machine so he can sleep better.
✨ If anything, living with Yui, he has a more comfortable place to stay and someone actively encouraging him to take better care of himself, and while he’s extremely reluctant to do so, vehemently rejecting any kindness for a little bit; slowly, but surely, Yakou starts to get better again, and learn how to cope with his trauma, as well as take care of himself. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s not still a grouch like in Devil’s Deal, since he still very much is much more grumpy than in Rain Code, but now he’s learning how to care for himself in ways he never did before. 💕
