Revised version of a size chart I threw together super quick like as an ask for @phlurrii Now featuring an accurately sized Mega Meau, the full Ancient Mew family, and one fluffy llama dad :> All art belongs to Phlurrii! (with exception of the Creation Trio)

I am a firm believer that the creator Gods of all Pokemon should probably be larger than life, and not just the height of a 2-story building?? but- as far as game canon is concerned, that's where we are.

Bleh I detest backgrounds

This form of his was huge and used to defend his kiblings (kitten mew siblings) viciously from any threat. Nowadays he won't enter this form due to the immense physical strain on his body because growing mchuge really mchurts! And because his original kiblings are no longer around for him to protect

A feral/unleashed/origin forme for my old world mew Vismay, he was made after the trio of Space Time and Antimatter so he can have an alt forme as a treat. Credit to phlurrii (check them out their art is so SO good) as their mega Meau inspired me to give Vismay an alt forme. Not outright tagging cause dont wanna put irrelevant stuff in their notifs lmao

He did have flowy whisker parts to represent his usual whiskers like Chinese dragons in the sketch but I removed them as his face felt cluttered and I didn't think I could make it look nice. He's a beast and I love him

I cannot sleep and I am curious about your take on this random conundrum I am faced with that I was wondering your take on because I love how you are able to depict dynamic movement and action in your art and animations.

So, I absolutely LOVE it when the typically cutesy being that is Mew is depicted as a feral godly beast and I am so utterly in love with Meau’s truly powerful design. An absolute apex predator. However, my brain is hung up on a frustrating detail. If they weren’t floating everywhere all the time how would they like… prowl? Or chase down something. They’ve got these nubby little arms and these looooong legs.

Like. I’m trying SO hard to imagine something that could anatomically work because as eery as floating can be there’s something satisfying about feeling in the weight of a creature through its gait. But all I can picture with their body shape is…hopping. Just a murderous psychic kangaroo cat god bounding towards something but like…It’s kind of silly? I’m sure irl that would probably be absolutely terrifying to see a kangaroo bouncing at you with malicious intent but… it’s hard to picture it as an intimidating movement.

The slow predatory prowl or the fast thumps of heavy clawed paws of something huge and large sharp teeth that quadrupeds have is so a satisfying in a heart racing way. I WANT a Mew or Mew-ish creature to be able to have that vibe while connected to the earth that but then I look at those LONG footers and nub paws and I…I’m left feeling like it’s not possible.

Even for Meau like…their arm to leg ratio…I don’t think it’s possible to run on all 4s. Naruto-run sure. Absolutely. All the mews and twos can Naruto run and kangaroo-hop with them leggies…but none of them move with the “tiger on the hunt in the forest” vibes. I want to make something close to that but I keep making something too permanently quadrupedal in anatomy.

Sorry for the tired brain rambling I just my brain won’t let me sleep because of it’s “How would Meau run down their prey on foot” thoughts sending me in a spiral.

You see- you see, I have the same. Exact, brain worms. Constantly.

When I made the Ancient mew, I wanted something feral, a physical threat. That happens to be psychically able to obliterate you as a side treat. In my earliest comics, I tried so hard to demonstrate she was a power house, so much so her mega evolution is entirely just… that. A massive, wall of steel. Meau tore those scientists limb from limb, literally, with her jaw. Even in mew form, she bitch slapped a nidoking with her tail and kangaroo kicked a persian. She could’ve just shadowballed them, sure, but I want that weight. That feral energy, that sense of an unstoppable force, meeting an immovable object, except it’s just one cat and they are about to flatten you.

As her design has clearly evolved, I’ve tried to make alterations that fit this feeling, that vibe of apex predator no matter the size. She’s larger then average because she’s a threat, she’s more muscular because she’s a threat, her tail is thicker, packed with said muscle because she’s a threat, her front paws are meaty and girthy because She’s. A. Threat. Her entire mega evolution is just amping up that primal energy of raw, unadulterated strength. That’s why I made it, it was my first freaking thought after I designed her XD

I was actually caught between animating a younger Meau acting like a mew or an current Meau acting like a threat. I went with younger Meau cuz we don’t see a lot of her and she’s about to come up with Noe’s arc. So if you sent me this lovely and viciously relatable brain dump 3 days ago, I probably would’ve swayed to animate feral meau XD

But, to answer your question, yes. She can absolutely hunt you down on all fours and disembowel you with her jaw, she is that untamed, wild concentration that kills with a sleek efficiency fellow gods fear. And! At the end of our current arc we’ll finally get that secondary typing reveal I’ve had planned since April XD

Maybe Meau did a Mega Rayquaza and ate the Mega stone(Rayquaza ate a meteorite and it was their mega stone or something)? Because apparently Legendaries can do that

Somehow I don’t think she’d eat a rock, unless Noe gave her said rock and through a variety of shenanigans she accidentally swallowed it.

She would swear him to secrecy and never acknowledge the rock stuck in her XD

I really love how it came out, it’s so much closer to what I had initially imagined! Just wasn’t nearly as experienced with drawing cats at the time, nor comfortable straying too far form cannon stuff.

Wow, just... holy shit has your artstyle evolved.

I'm slowly scrolling through your story, watching how Meau starts out as a base mew with a head crest and second neck. Barely larger than a normal mew

and then she slowly grows larger and larger, with every post she seems to change just a little.

Missingno as well, starting out as a pallet swap, but growing pointier overtime. she now towers over the mew she used to be just slightly larger than

And it keeps going!

It’s been wild as I started this not knowing really how to draw cats or Pokémon, so it was a lot like starting all over again art wise! From backgrounds to webcomic formatting X3

I’m glad to see my own improvement and even more excited as the way my story is set up right now? I’ll get to redraw the first two updates in the proper style so I’m SUPER hyped for that ;3

Out of curiosity, since a normal mew is 600 BST, what would Meau and Mega Meau be?

Normal Meau was around 690 BST, around her brothers, with an extra push due to the whole “sustain and create life” job. Nowadays she closer to 680-685. While mega and origin form would boost her to 700 each. Arceus could still cream her, but she’s not one to be scoffed at ^^

Missingno. is a tad lower, at 650 BST, at his highest he was consistently 710, but momentarily achieved 800 for reasons we will see eventually. However it was NOT for long, only a few minutes, and for very a specific purpose that dropped him back down to the 650 he is now. Granted glitchy maneuvers are outside this as that causes a boat load of fuckery.

i was kinda wondering if error handling was going to come into play! with missingno's core job being a placeholder the game can use to prevent a crash- item duplication being a side effect that's just commonly exploited. oooh, what about all of missingno's different sprites and sounds? what about its bird typing? also is the mew glitch connected? since it's not technically related but it's how a lot of people catch missingno. aaaa i know you probably can't answer all of this but i have two genuine questions- are you pulling from only gen 1 missingno, or will other, later game missingno-like glitches factor in (like bad egg?) and/or other gen 1 glitch pokemon like 'M? . and what about ketsuban? since it has unique effects in japanese games?

sorry for the wall of questions- pokemon's many glitches (especially gen 1) are close to my heart. big fan of glitch city and ZZAZZ alongside missingno personally!

Akdjskdkgkg I’ve been dying to answer this for ages, but I refused until I actually fixed up this concept for it!

SO! Yes. Yes, all of missingno.‘s other sprites come into play as well as their “bird typing” as I’ve had this idea for a possible Mega Missingno bouncing around for ages, I work solely off the original Gen 1 sprites that would appear along cinnabar. Made even more special by the fact I encountered them all whilst trying to get him and Meau out of the game! The mew glitch is connected, but can’t say anything yeeet cuz of lore reveals later.

I won’t be dabbling in the other major glitches of the other gens yet, if I did, it would be because I decided to give Noe a child one way or another, and they would be considered the “next Gen Missingno”. Aka he’d get the Bad Egg and it becomes his kid lol

Also I am right there with you, been a MASSIVE fan of Gen 1 glitches and Missingno was always very dear to me due to lavender town and cubone being some of my all time favorites too. Glitch City has… actually already appeared in my story, but I haven’t yet made any connection back to it. It’ll become a lot clearer what it was when I get to Noe’s Arc in the story. So stay tuned fellow glitch obsessive ;3

Unrelated to the current topic of conversation but idea for the like mega Meau dilemma of like how she evolves and such is there rock did she eat it lmao, this is an idea I wanna use for a character I'm gonna design but I'm sharing with u cause like share concepts, maybe she has a mega evolution organ? So she just has this like organ which it's entire job is storing ambient energy and probably also transferring space radiation energy since the mega stone stuff came from a meteor I think?? Idk into usable energy for mega evolution bursts? Just a little battery organ storing and transferring energy as its needed but can then just release a flood of the energy it has stored like some stored power bulk up attack and flood Meaus system with that energy activating mega evolution? Free to ignore and if you came up with an actual solution I missed whoops but just an idea I had and wanted to share cause organ for evo go brrrr

Ooooo ;0c no no that’s a good thoughts, definitely gonna throw it in the blender and see if I can figure something out. Since she doesn’t have a stone, it could be an innate thing that was simply altered with the creation of mega stones. I have thoughts, but for now I’m gonna rework behind the scenes and maybe with her Mega glowup I’ll explain said thoughts X3
