Why Mephisto should not be dead (from a creative standpoint) SPOILERS

So, I finished season 2 today and I love it, I am posting this in the future so don't come at me I loved the twins and I saw so many redeeming qualities between the two which would make for an amazing backstory and 3rd season. I noticed mainly that Mephisto near the end of the season became disatisfied with his situation serving under gramorr, less in a power hungry way, but more of a regretful way. We see this multiple times in the show, when he hands carissa the 2nd medallian, or helps iris defeat the monster to save his sister. I speculate that the twins may be in a position of life or death under gramorr, hence their obsession with trying to save one another from death under him by carrying out his orders. In episode 24 we see mephisto assume the princesses had taken praxina hostage, and did everything kin his power to save her. It seems that the crown he was holding held some kind of energy which "corrupts" people, same with gramorrs mask. This is speculative, but I know for a fact that they both had instances where they showed compassion (less so praxina, but its there) and could make an ultra compelling season 3 showing how the twins ended up in their lives so hurt by the world. I mean poor praxina obviously had never had friends before meeting the princesses, and its very likely mephisto never had any either.

Anyway, here are 4 reasons why mephisto SHOULD be in the next season and not actually dead.

Floppy hair villains make lots of money Its obvious. Floppy haired evil boy with floppy haired evil sister? Its a perfect mix of being able to get fans to love gothic/alt style characters. Many people seem (as I have joined tumblr and tik tok) to have liked these characters A LOT. If you break apart the floppy haired twins you break apart the fabric of the universe

He's a fan favourite I will admit, I think hes a great character that without saying much, displays more complexity than shown before in many cartoons aimed at kids with big bad villains. It shows an interesting side to the good bad dynamic, and really could be expanded more on to show viewers the complexities of these things. People love mephisto because he's intelligent but also absolutley silly, but also cares for his sister a lot.

He brings a lot to the seasons I think his addition was great, and having a 3rd season where we see more of him and prax's sibling dynamic would be amazing. Me and my sister remind me of prax and mephisto, and its really nice seeing the siblings be best friends on screen.

I think he will suit a redemption arc

Not that he really needed to move that hard when she's got a saber to his throat and lifting his head up with it. He's just making it a little bit easier for her to do that.

He blinks his gaze up at her, red eyes watching her every movement. There wasn't a single bit of fear in him, and there rarely was anymore. Things still got to him, but having a weapon pointed at him wasn't one of them. He's stared the end of Ganondorf's sword down when it was directed at him and he held his own sword to the throats of innocent people.

Still, he isn't entirely sure what he did to bring this Nabooru on. "If you're looking for a spar, I'm not entirely convinced we're supposed to do that in the Sacred Realm. You know, with it being a holy place and all?"
