but re: your response to my last ask: sorry I worded it kind of confusingly!! and omg I can totally see him as a hozier fan lol and him being into classic music is so on-point! also I frickin love violet orlandi! bc of my auditory ~sensory issues~ I have difficulty listening to a lot of metal music (which is unfortunate bc a number of my friends really like metal), but I've found that her music is a great way to still experience those songs without having an anxiety attack from all the auditory input lmao

but onto the brainrot!! I know aemond mentions having studied philosophy and history, but do we think he's a lit kid too? I can see this man absolutely loving lit crit. he would be such a "well, actually, according to this quote on pg. 265..." guy I feel like. I could also totally see him memorizing whole passages just bc he can

also this is just random as hell but do you have any headcanons on what his favorite food is? I feel like he has a huge sweet tooth but hates to admit it but I have no proof at all for why I think that lol

okay and finally do you have any thoughts on why he chooses to keep his hair so long/styles it the way he does? I'm so entranced by some of those gifs that show his luscious locks just billowing like he's in a hair product commercial 😍 (admittedly I still have not found time to watch the show because of the horrors (writing my masters thesis) so if they explain it there then sorry for asking! 😅)

Bestie, I am always down for Aemond brainrot, it seems my brain has been rotting away since I saw the show! 😅 and EEEK I'm so excited for the Violet Orlandi love! yeah what you say is sooo on point, she's kind of an access to that kind of music if you don't enjoy metal! Re: lit crit. Oh absolutely! I think he'd have a very deep passion for the arts and humanities as a whole. And he's a huge nerd so he'd definitely have all his references memorized and he's able to absorb and analyze very dense writing. May I interest you in hcs of his favorite books? those hcs are of modern!Aemond though.

Re: his favorite food .OH, omg. I hadn't been asked this before! this is a tough one! For one, I think he'd definitely have a taste for very refined things and this extends to food Canon!Aemond would enjoy meals rich in protein because of how hard he trains, and he likes his meats very buttery and juicy, with his bread soft and well seasoned, crispy on the edges. He'd be a lover of good wine. Vegetables rich in flavor. And I'm loving the image of him taking to pastries (in secret!). Maybe we can base it on Mr. Ewan - I take my coffee with 7 sugars - Mitchell lol!

Modern!Aemond would be the type to go to very high-end, expensive restaurants and tries all the food trends that all the famous cheffs are experimenting with. In terms of his favorite cuisine, his favorite might be french food? For comfort food, he's giving me the type to enjoy a really nice tomato soup with cheesy, fluffy bread on the side. Or a very indulgent, super creamy and flavorful plate of pasta. Something he can eat on the couch while watching his favorite films. For comfort, other type of cuisine that I feel he might love is Greek. Give him a plate of Spanakopita's with all the freaking cheese, and Gyros that are just super fillled, and he'll be happy. Guhhhhhh I'm salivating just thinking about food. And also, I just HAVE to bring this up, but @dumpsterfirecee and I aren't from the U.S. so we have this running hc of introducing Aemond to our traditional foods that are naturally spicy. And because he wants to be a good boyfriend, he tries it all, but in the end he's a white boy who can't deal with spice and is suffering inside 🤣 (please look at the hilarious art Cee made). In the end though, I think he'd develop a taste for it lol!

re: his long hair. I think the consensus is because he's proud of his Targaryen heritage. Don't quote me on this but I think Tom Glynn-Carney (who plays his brother, Aegon) said that they kept Aegon's hair shorter than Aemond's because of his reluctance to rule and him wanting to separate himself from what his family has imposed on him. Unlike Aemond, who desperately wants it, who is proud of his lineage and wears the emblems of his house with pride.

Heyyy! I just wanted to hop on the post you made about the vegan things (absolutely no hate btw it’s just really interesting!)

I think despite the fact that a lot of products might not have animal products in them, things like cleaner/makeup and such can still be tested on animals so it’s not all to do with the meat side of things… I mean apparently some toilet rolls have gelatine in them, which is kinda crazy 😅

I eat/drink a lot of plant based things due to allergies but I’m not vegan because I literally wouldn’t be able to eat anything if I was lol 🤣But I do think it’s a really good thing, especially for the environment! And it’s great to see more and more plant based products that are not just food related hit the shelves for sure… I do draw the line at the whole “if you’re not vegan this�� or “if you don’t eat meat that” kinda thing though… we’re entitled to our own opinions after all and some folk physically/financially just can’t sustain it or it’s just a case of personal preference on both sides <3

No hate from my end either!! That was a throwaway post with throwaway tags and I wasn't expecting anyone to read it😂 that's true, but generally speaking most products which don't test on animals are marketed as "cruelty free" or "not tested on animals", at least here in the UK they are. I can't speak for other countries but here typically they've always been marketed as not vegan specifically, but "animal friendly". For me, it goes a bit too far when these labels are removed and it's just "plant based X"... So is it made of plant materials AND tested on animals? Is it cruelty free? There's a definite trend of removing these specifications and marketing toilet paper as plant based seems a bit ridiculous to me because of course? Paper? Is plant based?🙃 I didn't know gelatine could be used in toilet paper!!! Can't say I'm surprised though.😬

I understand on the allergy front🫂😭 gluten free and vegetarian and vegan are often looped together which actually isn't all that good for people like me with coeliacs disease because we're at risk of developing other food allergies like dairy if we don't maintain upkeep (if we're not already allergic, coeliacs disease comes with so many comorbid conditions and allergies that it's a total nightmare unless you watch yourself like a hawk for the rest of your life). So when I have to buy gluten free foods, it's almost always and annoyingly (for me) vegan. It's annoying not because I'm anti vegan (though that is also true) but because I then have to buy animal products - meat and dairy - to put on those foods to compensate. It's almost impossible to find a gluten free pizza with animal products on the top of it, as an example. And it makes my already expensive food even MORE expensive. This is where my irritation stems from because I'm then forced to buy vegan products and that makes me feel like I support veganism, when I 10000% don't. No hate to people who do, but it's not for me and I have to sometimes go against my own preferences and then spend more money to make my expensive food as I want it - to contain plenty of meat and other animal products. All of my meals include animal products. ALL of them.💖

I'm very anti vegan, I won't lie, and I know it's an incredibly nuanced and detailed discussion which I'm not all that prepared for BUT I'm happy to discuss it further with you😭I agree, we're all entitled to opinions and preferences and I support people in what they wanna do with their own bodies, but I draw the same lines you do!!! It's fine if person A is a vegan but if person A then gets rude to person B about the fact they eat meat, THAT'S when I have a problem. I view religion in the same way. It's fine if you are, but please don't try to get me to live as you do.

SAY CHEEEEEESEEEE🧀📸 (me crying in the photo😭)

For 27 years cheese was the glue that held my life together 😅🧀❤️. I was also the biggest chocoholic, turning into an absolute gremlin at Easter time stocking up on months worth of the £1 dairy milk eggs🍫😍. Basically a skinny Bruce Bogtrotter (Disclosure I do eat healthy stuff too 🥦)

But then...😭

In summer 2022 after pigging out on a very delicious cheesy moussaka in a Turkish restaurant I suddenly felt quite ill and more than I would expect from a bongo bingo hangover; my whole face hurt, I had acid reflux (well I assumed it was as never had it before?!) and I also felt really spaced out. That was not a fun drive home. A few months later my doctor could see I had glue ear (no I'm not a toddler & no I didn't put pritstick in my ear!) and suspected I have a intolerance to dairy with milk causing blockages in my sinuses; hence causing the horredous full face migraine.

In a slight state of shock I ended up in the supermarket next to the doctors, crying at all the cheese and chocolate that I love so much and may never be able to eat again. Dramatic i know. I then cried again looking at the oh so boring, miserable and expensive 'free from' isle. A few uncomfortable looking customers definitely thought I was having some kind of breakdown....or break up as I was also on the phone my boyfriend whaling something like 'why meeee'; in reality I was having a sudden breakup with Gregg(s sausage rolls) and Tony(s salted caramel chocolate) 😭

In a state of denial over my new found diet I tried a few times to eat my beloved halloumi and smoked applewood cheddar...but nope; the pain returned, I felt like I was listening to my university tutors underwater (glue ear) and the acid reflux worsened. Ffs, worth a try. I also spent most of our holiday to Barcelona surviving off the hotel buffet Melon as my reflux and pain was so bad. In hindsight I probably shouldn't have had the dick waffle covered in melted white chocolate on our first day. This was also the start of the regular occurance of getting stopped by security for suspected drug smuggling -  Chill guys its just gaviscon, fexofenadine and imodium (all life savers with these ailments!) 

But alas, as the grief weaned (it did actually feel a little like grief with the loss of my foodie identity, passion for cooking and rating new restaurants) I have discovered some AMAZING dairy free alternatives (Hooray for Vegans for massively helping with this) and thought I'd create a space to keep track of my favourites (as I always forget) and to also share with others going through a similar thing or choose to be on a plant based diet.

Do-nut fear there is hope the foodie will return !!! (Dairy free Doughnuts gratefully available from my saviour Greggs😍🙏)

*Caveat - some things I may post on my blogs may not be vegan or vegetarian as I eat meat still and much of the food packaging says it 'may contain milk' so probably not great if you have a allergy rather than intolerance!

I want this, too. 😭 I hate that you're missing all the quality Echo content on my fb. 🥺 Last night, Echo borked in his sleep and it woke him up. He immediately jumped up and turned in a quick circle and then looked at me coz he was trying to find who borked at him. 😭💀 It was the funniest thing ever and all I could think was that I wished you were there to see it.

Every time I post Echo content, all I can think is that you're missing it and it's so sad coz there's been some quality stuff lately.

Also, BIG ACHIEVEMENT FOR OUR BOY...

He went into Petco when there were only two dogs in there and he was heeled at my side the whole time. He didn't make a sound and was the absolute best boy in the store and picked out his own christmas presents and did so well! He's usually not allowed in stores coz he's an asshole, as you know, but I scoped out the place before bringing him in and we just avoided the two other dogs the whole time and they avoided us and it was fantastic and he had SUCH a good time. You should have seen his little eyes get so big when he stuck his nose into the meat bone pile on the bottom shelf. They're about the same size as him and I believe those kinds of bones are dangerous for dogs (the splintering and stuff) so he can't have them, but he just about buried his little face in the pile of them. 😂 He did pick out some rather expensive freeze dried treats that he absolutely would not stop sniffing and licking at, just about ready to destroy the package (never seen him drool before but he got a lil slobbery from salivating at these freeze dried treats 💀 so I can't WAIT to do some fun stuff like hide the treats around the house and release him, etc).

But yeah. I was v proud of him. 🥲 He had a VERY good day in petco. And his christmas is gonna be so good.

I miss you. A lot. I can never stop thinking about you coz Echo moments remind me of you and this dumb dumb has a lot of moments. 😅
