Shigeo Kageyama x Gn! Reader (whose also an esper because yes always)

You’re literally the most popular person in school, well aside from tsubomi

Plus, you and mob were also childhood friends, only difference is that you and takane stayed friends

I mean how could u not be friends with tsubomi? You both understood each other and you two being aware of mobs crush on you

Well takane was worried about someone who you both still considered a distant friend misunderstanding you

If you understand tsubomi then yk what I’m yapping about

It’s difficult being popular, basically everyone has a crush on you, either for your looks or intellect

I mean it gets exhausting

Mob had liked you ever since.. well basically forever

I mean ritsu and reigen were well aware and to be honest… they really doubted you liked him back 😭

It really be your own people

Yk they still encouraged him to confess even tho it’d probably cause mob to reach “???” -

But surprisingly you were the one to bring it up, I mean mob was waiting with an umbrella just to see if the rain would let up at school

This was the perfect opportunity

I mean, others who were on cleaning duty were on the other floors and those who were here for after school clubs weren’t anywhere near

Do you decided to approach mob

You tapped his shoulder right and when he looked into see who it was you quickly went the other way to surprise him

He was, of course without a doubt,was shocked

He wasn’t the only one because he had two little stalkers

Ritsu and dimple 😭😭

When you confessed, dimple thought it was cool you approached mob

And ristu? He always liked you, you were nice but he was about to lose his mind if you were just playing with his older brother because he was quiet and impressionable

But no

You smiled at mob and asked if he liked you- which if mobs, dimples and ritsus jaws weren’t already all the way down to hell, well they were already

Mob felt himself losing a grip on his powers and the blush on his face wasn’t helping

Before he could turn away you gripped onto his hand and demanded he answered

Meanwhile dimple was biting his imaginary finger nails on what could happen and ritsu was also concerned on his brothers possible reaction

Before anyone could think another thing you blurted it out before anyone could process

“I asked because I like you mob”

I’m surprised mob didn’t explosion till this day

The urge to draw dimple and ritsu in this scenario

Anyway

After the two of you start dating and many risky situations you begin letting everyone know

I mean the first day mob was so nervous on letting everyone know and walking in holding hands but once you convinced him he did it

And people… they weren’t happy 😭😭

I mean their definition of royalty was walking around with some rando and as time went on they tried their best to tolerate it

Honestly ritsu and dimple probably had to pull some stunts to not have mob being brutally bullied every waking hour-

Anyway, when mob lets reigen know he openly congratulates him but secretly wonders how 😭

And when he tells the body improvement club they congratulate so much it’s honestly nice

Of course the telepathy club also congratulates him but they question him a bit-

It was tome 😭

She even asked mob to ask u if you’d be interested in in joining and sweet sweet mob mentioned it in passing

He also mentioned to you how he joined the body improvement club as motivation to confess to you first 😭😭

It’s so sweet and his red face gets even redder when you smile and hug him

(This is not at all a well thought out idea, but more of a basic outline for an idea I’d like to expand on in the future)

Slight canon divergence where Teru decides to stay and watch Ritsu fight the delinquents instead of leaving to find Mob.

Teru knows that Mob isn’t one for violence and never actually intended to become Salt Middle School's “shadow leader” because, obviously, he was there. He knew it wasn’t a fight over territory or power or to assert his dominance. Shigeo just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and got dragged into Onigawara’s delinquent bullshit by force and then had to defend himself when Teru tried to instigate a fight. He wouldn’t really care that someone else was using his “shadow leader” name to fight people. The only reason he’d care is because “innocent” (re; non esper) people were getting hurt by someone using the name associated with him.

So, Teru decides to stay and watch and then set the record straight; that Ritsu wasn’t White T Poison and was just another delinquent trying to ride off the fame that name carried.

So, Ritsu beats the crap out of the delinquents, goes on his whole monologue to Dimple about how tough he is, and then, just when Teru is about ready to reveal himself and gently put Ritsu in his place, Koyama shows up.

Now, Teru is a smart kid and as much as he realizes that this is a super unfair fight for Ritsu, he hangs back for a bit longer. He’s super aware of Claw and what they’re capable of and, if he’s right (and he’s pretty sure he is), this guy is probably a member of Claw coming to try and kidnap Ritsu.

So Teru waits a moment and watches, getting a vague idea of Koyama’s power while he fights Ritsu. Obviously, without Mob's help, Ritsu would have gotten his ass kicked immediately and Koyama would have been on his way. Except, Teru is not just going to stand by while Claw kidnaps another esper kid, (even if that kid is kind of a jerk), so he intervenes.

He holds his own pretty well, except, even Mob had issues when he first fought Koyama and Teru isn’t nearly as strong or resilient as Mob is. So, Teru gets beaten.

Cue Dimple realizing that this shit has gotten seriously out of hand and he zips off to go find Mob for help.

And since Koyama isn’t all beaten up and freaked out by how powerful Teru is, like he was with Mob, he has the sense to grab Teru, as well. And makes his way back to the 7th Division.

Meanwhile, Mob is still on his “date” with Tome, looking for espers and is none the wiser that his little brother and Hanazawa just got kidnapped.

I feel like Dimple would probably have to find Mob the old fashioned way, (by looking), instead of tracking him down by sensing his psychic aura, since he wasn’t able to just track down Ritsu at the 7th Division by doing that; instead they all had to rely on Terada to bring them there. So, it takes him quite a while to find Mob.

By the time Mob gets home that night, his mom is a bit concerned.

“Have you seen Ritsu? He didn’t come home after school. It’s getting late.” Ya know, the regular worried parent questions. And Mob, of course, has no idea where he is. He heads up to his room to wait for Ritsu to get home when Dimple pops in through his window, all freaked out, telling him that Ritsu and Hanazawa had been kidnapped.

Mobs reaction is about the same in canon, to blame Dimple first, assuming that the evil spirit had something to do with Ritsu getting into trouble. Dimple promises it wasn’t anything he did and that he’d never even seen the guy who’d kidnapped the kids before.

Now, without Teru being there to share his info on Claw, Mob has almost nowhere to start. Until Dimple tells him about the Awakening Lab. So, Mob tells his mom he’s going out to look for Ritsu and heads off to hit up Mitsura on where his little brother went.

Mob and Dimple arrive at the Awakening Lab to find it in the same state they do in canon; Sakurai having knocked out all the workers and destroyed the facility. Mob questions Mitsura and all he can tell him is a little about “a guy with a sword” that came in, destroyed the lab and kidnapped the kids that were there. At this point, Dimple and Mitsura have both informed Mob that Ritsu has, in fact, awakened his psychic powers.

But, since Koyama didn’t screw up by getting his ass kicked and then forgetting to grab the kid who did it, Terada never comes to the Awakening Lab to hunt down Mob. And so, Mob's only link to finding out about Claw and the 7th Divisions location, is gone. Leaving him to search for his missing little brother with no leads.

Meanwhile, at the 7th Division, the Scars realize quickly that they should have separated Ritsu and Teru from the Awakening Lab kids and stuck them in Sakurai’s cursed room immediately.

When Ritsu was alone and stuck worrying about looking after the Awakening Lab kids alone, (since he was the only one with actually useful psychic powers), he kept his power to himself to surprise the lackeys; but with Teru there, there was no way Teru would have just sat quietly and bided his time. As soon as he woke up and Koyama and Sakurai pulled him out of the car he would have been fighting to get away. And Ritsu, seeing that Teru was actually pretty strong, would have probably attempted to help so they could escape.

But Sakurai is smart and quick thinking, and uses his cursed cologne on both of them, ordering Koyama to take the Awakening Lab kids to the basement while he puts Ritsu and Teru in the cursed room.

Afterwards, Sakurai immediately reports to Ishiguro, telling him about the crazy strong kids they just captured. Ishiguro is super intrigued and decides to go and talk to them and offer them spots in the upper echelon right then…..after they’ve gone to see Muto, of course. He can’t have such powerful members that would betray him, after all.

Shou asks if he can come meet Teru and Ritsu as well; curious about these, apparently, very powerful potential new recruits. If he can get them on his side and “take them back to HQ” with him, then he’ll have even more allies in his fight against his dad.

Cue, basically an entire series of events of Mob hunting down Ritsu with the help of Dimple and Mitsura, who offers funds and his workers to help with any research they can find on who Sakurai and Koyama are based on the vague descriptions they have. While Teru and Ritsu try to formulate a plan to escape Claw, while Shou attempts to recruit them to his cause and free them from the 7th Division without drawing any suspicion from his father or Ishiguro.
