Thank you for your thoughts about my question concerning why BTS fans seem obsessed with what EXO members are doing even to the point they're complaining about Jin having to go serve yet Kai and Sehun don't and it's so stupid: Jin born in 1992, Kai and Sehun born in 1994. Make it make sense. Those are the only two left to enlist and they're not even 30 yet (global age) Anyway they keep up with EXO stats and unprompted will bring up BTS paved the way and EXO fans are "crying" about it lmao I am so confused because most EXO fans who aren't BTS fans don't give a fuck about what BTS is doing. Most of us are just waiting for a full group comeback, the first in almost 5 yrs lol if Lay is involved, that's even longer since we had an OT9 comeback. I just don't get the obsession they have needing to be concerned with what the "flops" are doing if BTS are so much more than Kpop according to a lot of them. It's so annoying to see the nonsense because even though I used to be a big BTS fan, I can honestly say i truly do not care what they're doing, or winning or anything like that. I don't keep tabs on them. Their success has nothing to do with my favorite groups and the quality of music I have been enjoying from them. BTS can go on to win every award until the end of time, it changes nothing for me so I really don't understand why they feel awards and numbers makes a hill of beans to how music fans enjoy music and why they think it matters to everybody.

Why do army obsess over so-called flops? I think it's about validation. It makes them feel really good to make other groups of people ostensibly feel bad. They're not music fans (the ones you see behaving like this). They're people who are part of a cultish subculture that gains energy and attracts attention through different forms of bullying and manipulation. It will be interesting when someone makes a documentary about this.

Idk I'm a music fan. I listened to 1.2K different artists last year, which is actually low for me! I've been close to 1.5K before. Anyhow, I like to pay attention to different artists and enjoy what they have on offer. In fact I just caught up on Jackson Wang's Magic Man series and that shit is cray. Loving how balls-to-the-wall he went. I just don't think it's at all interesting to focus on streams or accolades. What I care about is how the music, and the performance since we're talking about Kpop here, hits me. In that sense I think it's good to keep up with different artists. What's not good is doing it just for a sense of superiority. That's not contributing to respectful environment in which art thrives. That's capitalistic nonsense that crushes creativity. Hmm, why is that familiar?

Roll on EXO reunion! I want to see what they got.

I annoyed you all with questions about my writing and now I wanted to let you know about the results (if anybody is interested).

18 people were nice enough to answer, and while that doesn't seem much as a number, I was really blown away by that. Imagine 18 people in a room with you, talking about your writing. That's crazy.

Thank you all so much for the help! It gave me a good perspective on what to do in the future. And to the people who worried about their answers - please don't. You all helped me a lot. Just the fact that you filled out the form was a lot of motivation for me. ❤🧡💜

Overall people enjoy both sfw and nsfw stuff, especially a combination of both. That's great, because I write that way anyhow.

Most people voted for me to write one shots (anything up to 10k words). Drabbles (100 words), ficlets (under 1k) and multi chapter long fics (10k+ words) got about the same amount of votes, but overall fewer than one shots.

I asked how often I should post and regular HCs/ficlets, occasional one shots and updates on longer fics all got pretty much the same amount of votes. Aside from that, most people just encouraged me to write when I feel like it and don't put pressure on myself. I thought that was really sweet. I can feel the creative freedom 😄

Most people prefer ship fics, and male and gn reader got a few more votes than female reader. I figure that's because I try my best to write more male reader stuff, so it makes sense that my readers would rather read that. There are also quite a few people who don't prefer either, and just read everything. More creative freedom right there 🥳

When I asked which characters I should write about, most people mentioned Arthur, followed by Charles and John, Javier, Sean, Lenny and Eagle Flies. Tilly and Mary Beth were mentioned a few times, but more often there was a wish for ALL the camp ladies. I'll try my best to work with that 🤗

When I asked for ships that I should write for, the top answer was charthur, followed by morston and reader fics with various characters. Also pairs like Arthur/Mary Beth, Arthur/Micah, Sean/Karen or basically just any rare pairs. You know me, that's music to my ears 😁

(Sidenote: Due to quite an amount of hate coming my way when I wrote Charles, I stayed far away from writing him in any combination, especially charthur. Seeing how much people are asking for it gave me a bit of a nudge, though, so I might give it another go.)

I asked people if they wanted to get tagged to see my fics and 50% said "no" while the other 50% split up in "yes" and "only for specific fics." That means I won't make an official "tag list," but if anybody wants me to tag/dm them when I post certain content, I'd be happy to do so. Just let me know!

I also asked if people wanted to see something written by me and got some nice ideas:

more wlw (I'll try my best.)

only one bed trope 😁

supernatural AUs, especially vampires (this one is creepy because I have a small draft for a vampire au already but never talked about it)

amnesia (I looove that trope, I just don't have a good idea for it)

fix-it fic, Arthur survives, has a nice life

rivals to FwB/lovers (I've never seen that before. I'm very much intrigued 😄)

Red Hot Copulation 2 (that one made me laugh 😁 it's sort of a wacky fic, can't imagine what part 2 would be like. but who knows... maybe the day will come when I feel like "hm … gang bang" 😅😆)

In the end, I asked people if there was anything else they wanted to tell me, and pretty much everybody used the chance to say something nice about my writing and that I should write what gives me joy. I was really touched by that 😭🥺 Thank you so much for being kind! Now whenever I feel stuck or bad about my writing, I can go back to that and find new motivation. That means a lot! 💜🧡❤

Today we discuss recommended books, reviews, and fanfiction. What do you think?

Important note: I haven’t changed or edited any of the answers. I’ve only formatted the book titles so they were clearer, but nothing else. Because I’m incapable of shutting up, my comments are between brackets and in italics, so you can distinguish them clearly.

1. What is a book you've recommended enough times that now everybody associates it with you?

Heist Society, by Ally Carter. It's such a great YA heist story, and I feel like it's kind of underrated, so I recommend it any chance I get. 😉

2. Last book you loved?

The last book I loved and gave a 5 out of 5 star rating to is A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson. It's a mystery that kept me guessing and has fantastic characters!

3. Do you read reviews or do you go in blind?

I will read reviews and watch review videos before picking up a book or adding it to my tbr. (At the very least I check out the star rating on Goodreads.) However, I do try to stay clear of major spoilers.

4. Are you also a writer or just a reader?

I'm also a writer! I really enjoy writing and it's a dream of mine to become a published author. (I have also participated in and failed many a Nanowrimo. 😄)

5. Thoughts on fanfiction?

I don't read a lot of fanfiction, and I've never written any. However, I do love imagining different scenarios for my favorite characters, so maybe one day? 😄

Favourite Animal(s): fruit bats and silkworm moths (just because they look super cute), corvids (like magpies and crows because they are very intelligent and fun to watch!, not covid, guys.), also (deep-)sea creatures are crazy and better than any science fiction. Wild cats are majestic.

Favourite Fictional Character: phew, that’s difficult (to be honest, I was also tagged in a game where to name 10 favorite characters out of different media types each….and I just…can’t choose. What draws me in in fiction mostly is a set of great characters and most of the time, the story and setting needs to be good too to really make them shine and develop a depth and strongness of personality that develops a live of its own in my mind. I can really enjoy a lot of characters for several reasons (bc their demeanor/humor/appearance makes me laugh, their design is especially creative/gorgeous and/or well-thought out (for their role in the story), also the role they have in the story in general, their relatable traits, an inspiring or intriguing mindset or backstory…) but I think it takes a lot for one single character to strike all of those chords in me at a time. So, no, you won’t get one here– but maybe I’ll try in that other tag game!)

LOL I guess she isn’t as pURe and fluff as I thought :,) I also thought YN wouldn’t smash the mirror and instead would have her soul

~haunt~ the king, Snow, and JK for the rest of their lives but I think your choice was better,, the shattered mirror kinda parallels YN’s sHaTtEReD hEaRt 😃 but your characterization of Snow at the wedding uGHSHDJSHD SO GOOD I TELL YOU, it really made me want to go *pow* and punch Snow and her manicured fingers into her death :) YN’s entire story was so sad 😭 she tried to save JK and Snow but they end up betraying her instead :,( LET ME TELL YOU THOUGH THE FLASHBACK FLUFFY SCENES OF JK WERE

BUT LOLOL TO WRITE THIS FIC I HAD TO DO SM RESEARCH OF THE ORIGINAL SNOW WHITE TALE 😭it was actually very very interesting. i grew up with the version of snow white where the ‘evil’ queen tries to kill snow THREE times (poisoned comb, belts, the infamous apple) and snow punishes her with the hot-iron shoes. i didn’t wanna drag the fic on for too long (and i didn’t think yn’s that desperate to try to make snow fall THREE TIMES.) so i ended up cutting out the two other attempts and kept the apple. (especially bc the apple holds some significance to yn’s past with jungkook!) and yes, yes. snow is qUite the ambiguous character. she may seem innocent and ditzy and pure but you never know what’s going on in her head. maybe she was jealous of her stepmother’s beauty. maybe she hated the fact that yn never truly loved her. there are a lot of reasons snow could’ve turned on her stepmother. but one thing’s certain 😩 trust nO ONE!! (characterizing snow was also very fun! she grew up in an environment with zero threats. everybody automatically loved her. so when she saw yn being all ‘ehhh i dOn’T kNoW aBoUt hEr,’ she probably got pretty pissed. she’s nothing but a spoiled young child who got really lucky in life. and even in a disney sense, snow was always my LEAST fav disney princess LMAO. did that show too much in the fic? 😩)

omgg i don’t think yn has that much inherent ‘bad’ inside her to use her soul to haunt those who wronged her 😩😩 she’s such a poor soul who was abused and neglected throughout her life :(( i do rlly feel bad for her. bestie could never win 😭 AND YES. THE SHATTERED SOUL=HER SHATTERED HEART 😩😩 THANK YOU FOR CATCHING THAT!! SHE SACRIFICED EVERYTHING FOR EVERYONE AND NO ONE ENDED UP GIVING TWO SHITS 💔
