As an artist I think its so interesting how (at least in my era of learning art) we were pushed so much to learn the "right" and "wrong" way of doing art. Which pushed such a negative way of thinking and view towards our own creations, because if it didn't look like this, or that, it was bad and you were bad at art. You can't copy art styles, but you have to take things about art styles from your faves to make your own, but you also have to be unique enough. That is quite frankly a lot to ask anyone, let alone a child, you know what I mean??

And things like focusing so much of our time trying to find a style and videos explaining how to get there (which how to find your style videos in it of themselves aren't bad, but added in with everything else did not help, at least for me) when we should have been care free because it didn't matter! We were children we shouldn't have been worried about things like that yet. The hyper focusing on finding a style or else I'm not good at art was so prevalent in my art journey even now and its so interesting to me.

Back then I never heard anything about versatility, younger me would have had no idea that it was even a possibility to have more then one style because no one had ever shown me. And I think that is soo incredibly important, specially if you grow up wanting to make it a career or even just take it more seriously. Versatility is a GREAT thing and should be pushed more I think, or at least explained its not a bad thing. I feel like as artists we were so stunted in a sense?

I know I'm not the only one who's seen younger artists who are miles ahead in their art journey and feel some amount of jealousy, but jealousy is okay! I mean as long as u aren't harassing the poor kid, jealousy is a normal human emotion. But understanding that they weren't taught like me, they have SO MUCH more information and resources then I did so of course they're going to be able to improve faster and honestly that's great.

Art blocks are another thing, and I feel like get them more often then I think others do mostly because I never see anyone talk about art blocks that much. My experiences with art block have been about being able to do one thing and liking it, then no longer being able to do it and when I try again it doesn't look good. Then I end up getting frustrated with myself because i should be able to right? That is what Ive been taught, you know? The whole idea of having to have just one style that is unique to you, that tells the world this art is yours is still pretty ingrained in my head.

I think if we're just nicer to ourselves and have this sense of understanding that is okay to change, and do the art you once loved differently. Because you're still improving, just not in the same way anymore. And that versatility shouldn't be shunned away but to be accepted with open and loving arms. I truly think we'd improve "faster" that way instead of being so critical to ourselves and our art. The sort of cookie cutter, this way or the highway thinking of art has to change.

I'm sorry but I absolutely lose my mind over them ( I have literally no one who I could ramble about this to and I need to get it out). I want to analyse stuff, so let me just:

It's visible that they are good friends and have been since the time when Doc deviated, research partners doing... research? Or whatever researchers do *shrugs*.

But there's one thing to it, X created Doc and most of other androids. He understands what is deviation because Doc explained it to him but his friend is still an android after all. We also know that X always calls Doc "Docm" but in previous comic he calls him "Doc" and it is stated that it's the first time he ever called him that. In which moment he calls him that? In the moment when he realises that Doc is more human than android now, I may be delusional about this all but I just feel like: the moment when he sees Etho overpower Doc, shove him and break him and stuff, Xisuma sees that Doc isn't a fearless machine but a someone, a human, he got overpowered by Etho and suffered consequences, he felt fear like a human not a machine. Also he lost his arm because he was trying to stop Etho from hurting X as we see in the second part of the comic, which only adds to that. So, this is the moment where X fully realises that he means something to Doc, not as a creator, but as a friend, and that's why for the rest of the comic he constantly makes sure if his partner is alright by talking to him, glancing at him. You know stuff. He grew closer and closer to Doc as time passed and I think this was the climax - the moment he called Docm77 "Doc".

While Doc is doing the most stoic stuff ever and trying not to self destruct and stuff, he cares about X too, very much even, he's protective towards him and shows it by jumping into danger he could have avoided [ Etho attacked X because he's an admin and probably knows where's Grian - Etho wants to hunt down this pesky bird for killing Bdubs] just so his partner won't get hurt how sweet <3 RIP arm you will be remembered...

Anyways I feel like they should talk about stuff and maybe cuddle and maybe I don't know LIVE?? NOT DIE??

Originally Akira was willing to take Makotos place, but there were concerns that someone would recognize him through the makeup. “Shido KNOWS your face; we cant risk that.”

Futaba doesnt go for very obv reasons (agoraphobic), but also, she needs to have a live feed of everything being said incase they need to leave the event early. And Haru cant go bc shes the daughter of Okumura; she would be recognized immediately. Makoto is simply the best choice given the (unfortunate) circumstances.

Normally, they would joke about Ann’s acting; but shes a model and she knows how to act appropriately in these kinds of situations. Its not an act, its her Job, and its kind of wild for Makoto to see her effortlessly mingle w so many important and intimidating people without a care in the world. Makoto finds herself less stressed about the event because of it, and perhaps even a little emboldened 😳

Ok fuck it you know something I've never really quite understood about part of the Leftist vs Liberals debate on voting.

So so so many people act like its either-or. Like you're either dedicating your entire life to voting and promoting politicians and phone banking or whatever, or you're a True Rebel waiting for The Uprising to Come and Solve Everything.

But like. In my experience. Me voting is just me kinda go 'which person seems kinda good? Which one at least sucks the least? ok lemme go vote.' and then its anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour tops of my life. And I still have plenty of time to do Stuff and participate in Conversations about Other Important Things. And also you can admit and acknowledge and understand that the system As Is kinda sorta really sucks ass, but also still admit and acknowledge and understand that at this current point in time we are still living in the suckass system and do something to alleviate the suckass At Least A Little while also working to bolster/create/advocate for Other Systems.

I guess just like. it's not a black or white thing. Between 'top 500 volunteers for a specific politician/voting office/etc' and 'absolutely positively not voting at all' there is a gray area called 'vote and then just do other stuff'.

Thinking about all the women artists and writers who have been forgotten for all of their groundbreaking work, pieces that were widely consumed even during their time only to be discredited and disallowed into the wider canon of great artists because stories by or for women aren't taken seriously.

Thinking about it in specific relation to Nancy Wheeler, whose first foray into storytelling was in making sure a young girl wasn't remembered wrong. Barb wasn't a runaway, wasn't a reckless kid uncaring about the worried friends and family she left behind, and Nancy wasn't going to let her be.

Thinking about novels written and published, sold to be adapted into what will one day be deemed classic horror cinema without anyone doing more than glossing over the spot in the credits which lists based on the book by...

Thinking about Nancy's name not making it into that canon of great artists despite inspiring decades of a burgeoning genre yet to come, but also thinking about a descendant by the name of Buckley going to grad school nearly a century later and recognizing the same name that shows up in old, old journal entries from a great great aunt that they've felt connected to for reasons they're only just starting to understand about their own way of loving.

Nancy is successful in her life, sure, for the constant and forever ruminations on grief, on violence, on the intersect between the two, the way women love each other, but she's forgotten.

There's a descendant by the name of Buckley who remembers her name, though.

And it's only right that she's the one who listens to the stories Nancy needed to tell the world all these years later.

no one tells you this but once you start cooking a lot you quickly realize the hardest part about cooking has nothing to do with the actual act of cooking. it's when you're cooking more than one thing at a time and you have to time it so it all finishes roughly around the same time. the asparagus will never be done baking at the same time that you have to drain the ravioli that's just a fact of life.
