You have left your house, you have left those people behind, but what are you going to do about the memories which have taken root in you? You can run but not without them. You want someone to sit with you on this cool marble floor while the sun burns everything. You want them to cut your rotten heart and theirs too. 🔥 | Batfamily?

Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.

I love fanon batfamily, so so much. But canon batfam? They’re toxic as hell. They all abuse each other, and there’s no ‘well actually...’ no. No. Sure, they have their great moments, they have their moments which makes us believe they are wholesome and loving and it’s a lie. Bruce abuses them all, especially in recent comics (especially Jason). Dick is an ass, Damian needs therapy, Tim gets the short end of the stick, and Jason is both singled out repeatedly and repeatedly takes out his anger on his family. They’re all so bad for each other, in canon, and it’s such a shame. 

It does show the horrifying reality that people say ‘it’s family’ and remain in abusive situation’s because they think they should/it’s all the deserve/ect.

But yeah, I think it’s part of the reason people make fanon so fluffy and wholesome. People want happy and healthy batfamily, and even if they’ll never admit that canon Batfamily - all of them, not just Bruce - are so toxic for each other they still make the corrections in fanon.
