History tells us of kings who erected magnificent towers, castles and other monuments that display their glory. Even the not-so-powerful dream of having their stories live on long after they have passed away. As humans, it is in our nature to want to leave legacies of our own. This is why we aspire to be the best in our fields, hoping that we will leave an impression so great that even after our deaths we will still be remembered by many. Perhaps this desire is driven by our longing for eternity, something that our earthly bodies can never have.

In the words of Sheridan Voysey, "We can seek our own glory rather than God's, but by seeking to be known by future generations we can miss serving our own."

Our life on this world may be fleeting but this does not hinder us from serving God and advancing His kingdom. No amount of toil can ever result in glory that is higher than God's. Instead of wasting away our lives in pursuit of something superficial and ephemeral, let us focus our eyes on God and stand in His grace.

Serving our generation is a privilege that is granted to the followers of Christ. It can get overwhelming at times but we are assured that God is with us in every step of the way, equipping us with all that we would need to carry out the great commission.

📖Read Matthew 28📖

As Christians we are commanded to make disciples, to spread the truth about Christ and what He has done for us as sinners. It’s not a choice, it is a command. If you are a Christian and you don’t share your faith, I encourage you to do so because that’s one of the things that is required of us as being a Christian. If you don’t know how to share your faith, you can start a conversation by simply asking them how they are doing today? What do they value in their life? Do they believe in anything? And right there is where you can mention your faith and why you believe. Christianity is a way a living, it’s not a title you can just give yourself when your life isn’t showing that you are a Christian. If you haven’t believed that Jesus Christ died for the forgiveness of your sins, accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and are living a life pursuing righteousness then you aren’t a Christian. Being a Christian doesn’t mean you can live how you want to live, which honestly is walking in fleshy desires rather than the desire of the Spirit(you are given the Holy Spirit once you become saved). Being a Christian is looking different from the rest of the world. You shine differently when you have the light of Jesus in you. Being a Christian also doesn’t mean everything in your life is going to be problem-less. The difference between someone who is saved verses someone who is unsaved is that we who are saved have Jesus. We have hope in Him and that He is there each step by our side through it all; wether we are in a storm or in a sun-shining day, Jesus is right there with us. Jesus is the rock that we stand and when you don’t have Him to stand on, you are standing on sand; sand is a foundation that could not withstand a storm but a rock, The Rock can. If you take a look at the world we live in, you see brokenness, hate, selfishness, attention-seeking, worry, anxiety, depression, suicide, judgement, loneliness, and the list goes on. So many people carry the weight of these things when it wasn’t meant for them to carry. Jesus died taking all the broken things of this world with Him on the cross because He wants you to have peace, gentleness, love, hope, patience, kindness, joy, humbleness, but most importantly He wants you to let Him in your heart so that He can do a work in you.

It is a joy to run with this crew!! ✊ Love you Legacy may God continue to bless his church as we walk closely with Him. 💛▪️ We do not just raise up people in the church that we think are cool or fun to hang with. We only raise up people who meet the qualifications set in Gods word. This leaves the ultimate raising up to The Lord and not to us. He is the one who enables people to meet the qualification set in His word. The qualifications are found in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 ▪️ If a leader falls out of these qualifications they are then disqualified from the position of Elder/Pastor or Deacon. May God give the church wisdom as the lay hands on the next generation of leaders.
