one wonders how gertrude managed to keep herself so much more detached despite being the archivist for so long. she could sacrifice her assistants to her cause; she read statements but didn't get sucked into nearly to the extent that jon does (evident even just from her first appearance in a recording in mag 44).

something about how she must have actively chosen not to care strikes me as a bit more monstrous that jon ever was, because at least he still chose to care all the way to the end.

Its really hard to set on just one…

I absolutly love mag 74 fatuige ( this one is for some reason very comforting to someone who struggles with periodical insomnia/fatuige) and i just love the strangeness of it

And then there is Mag 85 upon the stair, witch in my opinion is an absolute master pice,, the way its build is amazing

Or mag 44 tightrope wich i absolutly love aswell

( my autistic ass could name a lott more but im gona stop my self here)

for example: mag152, mag 172, mag 175) but im not gonna go into detail on those, bc if I did this would be way to long of a post.

As for epesodes that scare me the most

As some one who’s had a terrible fear off the dark till their early teens, dark aligned statements just hit way to close to home,, so I gotta say mag 86 tucked in scared the ever living shit out of me, I made the mistake to listen to this one at night

i just loved this statement! properly creepy. everything being well and off putting. like the circus persons accent, if you can call it that. god i loved that tiger hihi.

i really appreciate the way the statement giver so directly based his career on this experience. like, from the outside it might just seem like a decent job. but for his, his childhood lead to this. idk i really like it for some reason.

I really wanna know what the conversation was like that led to Jonny's mum to play Gertrude xD

I like that Gertrude tells us the date of the recording. I'm a sucker for timelines.

"I didn’t always understand the jokes they told, but there was something intoxicating about sitting there, surrounded by people all laughing and cheering." - Yes, while children do this, imitating the reaction of others, it's also a phenomena on its own that things are funnier in a group. I laugh a lot more at movies when in the cinema than alone at home on the couch.

"I never liked the acrobats, though. I would watch them swinging from the top of the tents, leaping between the trapeze or walking their tightropes, and my chest would tighten, and all I could see in my mind would be the image of them falling to the sand-covered floor." - bit Vast-y here.

"I felt a large hand on my shoulder, and looked up to see two huge men in overalls. They lifted me easily, so my feet hung almost two feet from the ground. They talked fast, crude Russian, and their words seemed to shift back and forth between them" - my two favorite delivery men!

"I entered to see two clowns fighting. Not the slapstick routines of the clowns I’d been used to, rife with wordplay and satire, but a crunching violence I had never seen before. One of them, huge and scowling in white and purple polka-dots, pinned down its smaller companion, whose bright yellow shirt was now streaked with red." - a bit Slaughter-y there.

Gertrude sound so cheery when she's done with the statement and recites her final comments

"I wouldn’t have had to find this tape player tucked away in the storage room, covered in dust and cobwebs." - Dust and cobwebs. Without context this sounds just like a description to let the recorder appear old like it haven't been used in years. But with what we know about the Web? Very sus.

Just like MAG 24 I had problems following this statement. It had so many distinct focal points, the introduction with that bit about the acrobats, then the tiger, the ringmaster, the Freak Show, the balancing act of Ivan… Anyone get what's the bigger meaning with the hessian sack and then Ivan dreaming that he was trapped in said sack?

Hmmm lots of vague thoughts and contemplations regarding this episode... Thoughts?
