just listened to mag 60
thinking about the observer effect
someone reminded me that Amy maybe stopped the Not!Them from getting Graham by watching him
and maybe Jon's paranoia has actually been the thing stopping Not!Sasha from doing some creepy stuff...
but now the others have calmed him down so he might stop watching... 0.0

Round One Part Two - Match 16 (REPOST)
I messed up the poll length! Surprised it's only happened once so far. Anyway, here's the full week-long poll.
Even my perfect, immutable, and utterly unquestionable seeding formula puts some bad bitches against each other. Would you rather eat your notebooks, or cover your apartment in meat?

Third part of the notebook project
Tumblr media
Part 1 Part 2
Apologies for the not so great quality of the photo, the lighting is bad and my pen is almost dead. Hopefully I can figure out how to fix it.
There's a poll up for the name of the series, please go vote on it if you haven't already!
Transcription below the cut
Third day, third delivery. This time when I got home from my shift at the café instead of in the morning. I'm not sure why, but listening to it really helped get my mind away from the hell that was today's shift.
The statement involves Amy Patel and a classmate in her criminology course, Graham Folger, who does weird things with his notebooks. One night they end up on the same bus and it turns out that they live really close to eachother. As they walk home in silence something pushes Amy into the road, giving her a concussion so she can't be left alone. The two of them go back to Graham's flat as Amy doesn't want to show him where she lives. There is a table in Graham's flat that is given a disproportionate amount of screentime for the lack of significance it plays. Eventually she leaves his flat and picks up a habit of watching him through her window.
Overall, Graham's behaviour is… odd. Especially with his numerous notebooks. He spends most of his days staring at the table and smoking. On April 7th 2006 she notices something outside his window. Initially she thinks its a pipe. It's not. It 'shifts' inside and the lights go out. Amy calls the police but when they arrive, someone who is Not Graham is there and Graham's passport matches him. After that Graham is nowhere to be seen, all record and memory of him wiped and replaced in everyone but her. She ends up moving after Not Graham says something creepy to her directly.
In the post-statement Jon mentions how all photos of Graham Folger matches the Not Graham description, except from some polaroids from the 80s. They (the archive staff) managed to find one of his notebooks, it was completely filled with "keep watching". An obvious ploy from the makers of the project, but I won't lie and say it hasn't worked.
Key words for future reference: Not People, table
(so many victims who smoke, could it be an elaborate anti-smoking campaign?)

MAG 003
I think of the episodes that I've heard so many times that I don't like listening to them (which isn't to say I think they're bad, just that I know them very well), this one suffers the most. It's already (at least in my opinion) the weakest of the three episodes, still not bad but definitely a slight step down from the first two. That being said, the pipe that turns out to be a really long arm is definitely the first moment in the series that sends a chill up my spine. The statement from that point on is pretty good, maybe better than episode 1's statement, and it introduces the NotThem pretty well (and the table a little earlier).
I will say that I have no clue what Graham's deal is? Why is he eating notebooks what's up with that?
Anyway I don't really have that much to say on this one. It's a good episode and it sets up some mysteries for later down the line.
Thanks for reading my ramble, have a delightful day!

@a-mag-a-day for MAG 003:
So I remember kinda blowing past this one when I got started on the series. I’ve always struggled with detail retention when it comes to purely audio format dramas, particularly if I binge them in short order. TMA, by episode 3 was definitely a show I was binging by that point, as I had gotten through the first two episodes and fallen head over heels for the snooty British man voice telling me about the horrors and then trying to call them bullshit.
So, getting to this episode, I had completely forgotten about all of Graham Folger’s weird quirks. I mean, I had generally forgotten about this episode, but fanfiction likes to reference it so I at least remembered the broad strokes in relation to the Not-Them. But may I say that listening to this one in detail definitely gives me early-2010/late-2000′s horror vibes? Like kinda a bit of Slenderman sure, but also some of those videos of dark stringy monsters climbing over apartment buildings at night, watching in terror as something skitters on buildings across the street that you know mean harm. Not just that though, the constant writing in notebooks, the jumpiness, the hyper-vigilance gives off Tribe Twelve and Marble Hornets vibes.
Obviously there was something deeply wrong with Graham before he was eaten by the Not-Them. The fact he collected a Web-Table and had it refurbished for exorbitant amounts of money mixed with his paranoia related to Watching would imply that he was potentially in a similar bind as Micheal Crew was but with a different entity. Although unlike Mike, he was eaten before he could either make a choice or find a solid way of getting whatever was hunting him off his tail.
