I’m Okuda Iroha! 🦙
Recent events,
I thought I might talk about them a bit, so this is a relaxed and casual blog
What I'm obsessed with these days is,
Well, rock bathing. It's lower in temperature than a sauna, and you lie down on stone slabs. But before you know it, you're sweating buckets
It feels so good, you know~ But lately, I'm starting to get into saunas too. I might have even experienced this thing called 'sei-u'!
After about 5 minutes in the sauna and 30 seconds in the water bath, it slowly cooled down and felt great. I had never been able to take a water bath before, but now I could soak my toes in the water bath! I was able to soak up to my shoulders for 2 to 3 minutes. I want to get in shape again!
Im also into cooking!
I make my own lunch today, and when I have to travel long distances, I make my own breakfast.
Also, I love naan, and recently I made it myself! Kubo-san recommended this self-made naan from Muji. It was delicious!
These are some of the dishes I've made in the past year and served them in a nice way. ⬇️
I usually cook quite often, but I have a fatal flaw;
I'm terrible at presentation.
I have no sense for it, so I don't have many pictures to share.
The taste is delicious, but I can't take good-looking photos of it 🥺.
I can't post it on my blog, but maybe I'll share it during a chat, haha
I'm also into taking walks!
I walk for more than 3 kilometers, slowly listening to music or enjoying the scenery, and sometimes searching for new Indian curry restaurants.
I always forget to charge my camera battery, so I feel a little disappointed that I can't capture the beautiful scenery.
Walking allows me to think about many things, or even not to think about anything at all, so I enjoy it
Well, that's about it these days.
Recommended songs.
I was asked for recommendations during an online meet & greet, but there were too many to think of right away... so I wanted to talk about it again 😌
But I'm the kind of person who, once I get into something, I listen to the same thing over and over again, so my playlist doesn't change much
What I've been listening to a lot lately is:
・New Jeans / Ditto
・MOKA SATO & DENIMS / Lukewarm
・Anna / Nemuru toki ni anata no koe wo
・CreepHyp / Boys End Girls
・Haruomi Hosono / Jusho Futei Mushoku Teishunyu
・Haruomi Hosono / Koiwa Momoiro
・GOING UNDER GROUND / Tokyo
・J_ust / will be happy
・10cm / Phonecert
I recommend all of them!

This is the banana cake I brought in for you that we talked about on SHOWROOM. It looks delicious, doesn't it?
Oh, I had a particular thing about it. It's not a cake, but I wrote various emojis to avoid overlapping them with the handwritten message beside them.
I hope that the person who receives it will be a little excited! I'm glad that my co-stars and staff were happy with it 🔆
The work was created on such a wonderful set, so I would be happy if you could watch it! Oh, please watch it with warm eyes.
Alright then, bye👋🏼

Do you think you've improved enough, or are you planning to improve more in the future? (Nothing bad, just curious in your art journey)
I'd say the best part about art is that there's never really a limit to improvement.
Currently, I'm pretty satisfied in this general style / aesthetic & skill level. I don't feel limited by anything, I can draw whatever I want. It's a nice position to be in, and I've worked very hard for it. I don't have any new or different direction in mind. So I don't know what's next in that sense, and that'll be fun to figure out.
That wraps up 8 Days 8 Asks.
I'll be going through asks that didn't make it in the next few days. So feel free to continue submitting to my ask box.
Thanks 👋

Anatomy tips? I love your art style sm and I cANNOT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DRAW MUSCLES I’M SOBBING
Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it. There's a lot to cover when talking about anatomy overall, so i might make another couple posts out of this to give everything better coverage. But we'll start here.
First, I wanna back up from "muscle talk" for a second.
Generally, I think anatomy in the context of muscles or definition isn't super important when you're just starting out. Muscles are nice sure, part of my art style is that I draw them very often lol, but putting a bunch of muscles on a poor framework of a human body can be a bit counterproductive. Lipstick on a pig yk.
I think learning proportions first is the best step for long term anatomy learning.
It's easier to apply things like muscles, contours, definition, etc. to a human body when you have the correct proportions down i.e. it's easier to bring muscle to a body that can hold already hold a pair of ribs lol.
Proportions of the body is such a wide topic. There's so many tips and tricks that go through my head when I draw, it bakes itself into your brain after a bit. But you have to be careful to not fall into super strict notions of how the human body holds those proportions. My body is different from your body is different from an example body right.
The body types you see on my account mostly fall under the Mesomorph range. Mesomorphic bodies tend to have wider shoulders relative to the hips and waist making a sort of rough "inverted triangle" shape [I exaggerate this].
| Credit to boneytobeastly.com for this example.
For drawing Mesomorphic men [in general], the shoulders are around 3x the width of the head from ear to ear. The pecs are slightly bigger than the head. The shoulders and back hold a lot of mass and funnel pretty sharply into the hips, making our "triangle."
I think getting a good grasp of these proportions and principles is vital to starting out anatomy study. If you want to draw these big, muscly men, Mesomorphic proportions are a good place to start. [But understand the other body types listed can support muscle and build as well. You shouldn't discredit those body types and exclude them. Mesomorphs are just the most "cliche" idea of a muscular body, and it's a safe enough beginning point].
Study references, ideally real world bodies, to understand what the general principles are. And if you start getting comfortable there [applying these proportions, forming these bodies comfortably, etc] and want to move on from fundamentals to aesthetics, you can start looking to your fellow artists and see how they break down these concepts in their own unique way. See how that inspires your own creative direction. Add that muscle lol.
Hope this helps.
