EBA;
The EBA alcohol activated pallet is good on latex because once there is a base layer already put on the colours become very pigmented. If there isn't a based colour then it will not work as it is alcohol based it won't show up and will be too thin. Therefore when using this on latex there must be a base layer to work onto.
They can be very pigmented so can work for a blood effect.

Dipping latex;
I used the Neill’s Materials dipping latex, I filled the whole plaster mould up with the latex, left it to sit for around 1 to 2 hours. This was to make sure that the thickness of the mask was of a standard it wouldn't rip, so leaving it to set for longer then better because it left more to set around the mould.
After an hour or so I left it tipped on its side, this was to allow all of the residue to fall out. Once I left it to drain I sat it back up and left it to dry for about a day.
Once fully dry i then removed the mask with baby powder to give an easy removal and prevent any ripping. The only thing I was disappointed with was where the ears had drained too much and left a hole behind the ear.

Zombies and Humans
Zombie films and not only based on the zombies, they are also based on the humans, if the human character doesn't have the right way of reacting then the film will automatically fail.
In zombie films it is almost as if the humans soul is taken and replaced with a virus. So when a human is killed and transformed into a zombie it is almost like the whole past and memory has been absorbed by the virus that therefore passes through their blood.
Humans are always scared of zombies, the way humans will know that most commonly if they are scratched or bit by a zombie, the virus will almost kill them and absorb their body and soul.

The 5th Wave;
The 5th Wave is based on an alien attack. Due to the birth of these aliens it is causing earthquakes and disease. Being separated from her family she is forced to work along side someone which could be her last hope in surviving the assault from the invaders.
The special effects is mainly CGI based, died to a lot of flying objects, which brings the film together rather than the actual prosthetic special effects.

Religious end from an apocalyptic event?
People may fear that the whole idea of a zombie could be real and could turn into a religious group, like some kind of a cult. People alway imagine apocalyptic events as if they were real. Would it be possible that it turned into a religion that people therefore follow and try to become apart of, like there would be a God of the religion for them to worship, maybe even a king. Humans may fear that there could be a virus that has a zombified characteristic. Humans and zombies could eventually work together, maybe a reason why humans love zombie films so much, maybe people try to relate it to real life as though it may happen in the future.

Thomas Vincent Savini- Night Of The Living Dead;
In these images you can see how throughout the film the special effects change, because the first one you can see how simple it is. She just looks a bit messy and her eyes look dazed, which zombified her slightly. She has a small amount of fake blood on her face which may make it look more like a zombie, but it doesn't give a very dramatic look.
Where as the second zombie is much more dramatic, you can see how prosthetic pieces have been used, more times has been spent on it and the zombie is dribbling blood which gives a more hideous look which a deadly zombie needs. The eyes are completely fuzzy. The character overall looks more dated a deathly. This works so well because of the colours used on top of the prosthetics. The teeth look more mangled and he looks a lot rougher and dead.
I think that the prosthetics change throughout the film because it shows the transition of how the zombies slowly decaying more and more. It makes the decay more dramatic and noticeable change.

The Crazies production list;
For the production you need many people to complete the film, for the makeup there is always a lab technician, people specially for contact lenses, the application of the prosthetic pieces, the person to add colour and paint, special effects applicator, hair stylists, makeup artists, a sculptor and prop designer etc. To create the film there are usually around 60 different people for the production of the special effect. Including having managers of each different section such as hair, make up and special effect parts.
Having someone to do the contact lenses is a key part as this can't be done unprofessionally, as it can extremely damage eyes.

World War Z;
A lethal virus, spread through a single bite, is turning healthy people into something vicious, unthinking and feral. As the pandemic threatens to consume humanity, Gerry leads a worldwide search to find the source of the infection and a way to stop it from spreading.
Relying on the CGI rather than proper stunts they stage incidents that couldn’t be done practically as pilots are shot or burned at the controls. So therefore most of what is done in this film is CGI edited.

Resident Evil;
Resident Evil is an animated movie. Soldiers battle zombies, trying to prevent a madman from unleashing a deadly virus in the New York.
Resident evil is also based on a game, where you try to survive a zombie apocalypse. Running and killing likewise with the film.
Resident evil is created online so the unneeded bits can simply just be cut out or just remover the whole slide entirely.

Omega Man;
Omega is based on the novel I Am Legend. It is set in a post-apocalyptic future in 1971 the film attempts to show a world populated by a single solitary man.
Humanity is destroyed by a bacterial plague which turns the population into vampire-like creatures, whereas in this film version, biological warfare is the cause of the plague which kills most of the population and turns most of the rest into nocturnal albino-mutants.
As this is a very old film the vampires are very dated so the prosthetics are very average and nothing special, but was still a hit due to the actors which won a lot of people over.

I am Legend;
As you see in the second image, you can see how they worked the CGI using a green screen, getting someone to dress in a flubbed green suit holding the crazy dog to make it look as though it is attacking.
I think this is smart because it looks very effective and a very cheap way of doing it. The crazy dog is a mask so the person in green is holding it and moving the mask with his hand to make it look realistic. Then just cropping out the green suit.

Rick Lazzariri’s Character shop;
Rick created many things for films for example he created these dragons for Game of Thrones. It is mainly animatronic characters, making puppets and creatures for films.
Not only is the character shop for films but a restaurant chain in Chicago, making animatronic donkeys for show in there.
The character shop create human animatronics for MRI medical robots.

Rage 28 Days Later;
Its a post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Danny Boyle. Its a bloodborne virus that sends its hosts into a state of extreme, uncontrollable rage.
Its made using animatronics, I like the way they have used the pure red eyes which makes it look like it has defended from the devil, which is what the virus means because it makes them ruthless and makes them want to kill.

Dawn of the Dead- how does the characters help the prosthetics;
They are well know for their prosthetics, this is because they were not great but the film still thrived. The reason the film still thrived was because of the actors. The actors and they script help the way the film works. The movement of the characters and the way it has been filmed improve the aesthetics. The prosthetics have very vibrant colours and I think its too out there.
The film is well known for its prosthetics because they are not the best but the film still worked, this made the film more well know because of the reasons it thrived such as the script and actors.

Dawn of the Dead;
As you see in the first image the prosthetics were pretty bad. The knife looks like one of the kids plastic halloween ones. Where as in the second one it looks more realistic as the character is very pale, I tried to make one of my masks slightly paler to make it look more decayed.
The red eyes make him look more dead like he's trying to fight for his life but the zombie is killing him. His hair looks almost green, the colours that are used in the second one are more realistic where as in the first the are very bright and luminous which makes it look faker.

The undead in comparison to zombies;
The undead are more like humans that have died and then rotten away then come back to life just alone as their skeleton. Where as a zombie looks rotten and hasn't yet passed it it slowly decaying and turning into a skeleton as it peels its skin off. Where as the undead have already died once and then come back to life and the rotten self.
Zombies still have the human skin only that it has become rotten where as the undead are purely bone as it is a skeleton.

Black Panther;
There are so many make up artists for films, some for hair, some for makeup and also for prosthetics. For example Black Panther has different types or artists.
There were around 25 people just for the hair dressers/stylists. Around 56 makeup/ special effects artists.
For the films you need to have a professional at putting contact lenses in to make sure the eyes can not be damaged. This just shows how many people you would need for the prosthetics and characters appearance.
