Devonshire Finest Tuna as us Collins Boys call Mackerel.

Dad and Uncle Dave went Mackerel Fishing out of Brixham on our boat yesterday, gutted I could not go as I was working and not retired like those Ole scally wags.

They hit into some fine schools of Mackerel and caught bucket loads, the freezers are full for winter now, the boys dropped some off for me too.

Just look at these tiger striped beauties shallow fried with a seasoned flour coating, turns into a light batter ahhhhh man the aroma and flavor was out of this world, I was transported back to fishing abouts The Boy Richard with my Pappy (grand father) as a boy.

Thanx boys I enjoyed these immensely for brunch today.

Love getting fish from the counters when I’m shopping but I’m such a scarf cat buying things I don’t know about. Eg if there’s too many bones hubi won’t eat it 😂 I’m not a big fish lover anymore otherwise I used to experiment all the time . Today’s fish are #herring & #mackerel . The mackerel had one huge bone in the middle so I demolished half of that . The herring had tiny bones In not too many so was ok .
