Nomi J. Connors - Writeblr Intro
Hello everyone, I'm Nomi (all pronouns apply) and I am a romance and fantasy author. I have an interest in both clean and erotic romance novels and short stories. I have been known to dabble in horror short stories and in poetry.
My purpose for being on Writeblr is to share my work in a low pressure environment, and to read and support the work of others. I always respond to friendly DMs and I try to reply to asks in a timely manner.
My other interests include art (specifically printmaking and paper making, though I'm getting into digital art), Stardew Valley, Skyrim, MXTX's works, and writing and playing music (I play a lot of instruments and sing). Sometimes these intersect with my writing, and I will post about them from time to time.
Some boundaries: I will block minors on sight. My work is not for those under eighteen, please don't interact until you are of age. I also do not take unsolicited constructive criticism, especially on matters of taste.
Here are a couple of my WIPs and completed projects:
Lunar Lagoon: An erotic romance set in the modern Mediterranean. Lyria, a mermaid, and Amelia, the transfem captain of an antique sailing vessel, must navigate a budding relationship formed from mutual pleasure as it blossoms into something meaningful and deep, while avoiding the ire of Lyria’s overprotective father. Love should be smooth sailing… right?
Crossroads: An erotic romance set in the US. Hazel Abernathy is a struggling witch fighting a losing battle against her local HOA and the crumbling infrastructure of the house her mother left to her when she passed. She’s ready to get back out there and on Valentines Day, meets the sweet and charming Aleksander, and the bombastic and enigmatic Lillian. The two of them, powerful demons in their own right, have their own struggles with mysterious spiritual attacks on the nightclub they own.
I hope to have the second draft completed by the end of March.
Wear a Coat: A horror short story set in the Appalachian mountains, where I come from. What happens when you don’t follow your mama’s advice and go looking for berries without a coat? Maybe you’ll just get cold or maybe you’ll attract unwanted attention from something dwelling deep within the forest…

Speaking of eclipses would the hidden moon festival mentioned in lost lagoon be a lunar eclipse or a solar eclipse?
I'd have to reread it, but my impulse says lunar eclipse, because the moon isn't being hidden during a solar eclipse, it's doing the hiding.

A Total Lunar Eclipse Over Tajikistan Video Credit & Copyright: Jean-Luc Dauvergne (Ciel et Espace); Music: Valère Leroy & Sophie Huet (Space-Music)
Explanation: If the full Moon suddenly faded, what would you see? The answer was recorded in a dramatic time lapse video taken during the total lunar eclipse in 2011 from Tajikistan. During a total lunar eclipse, the Earth moves between the Moon and the Sun, causing the moon to fade dramatically. The Moon never gets completely dark, though, since the Earth's atmosphere refracts some light. As the featured video begins, the scene may appear to be daytime and sunlit, but actually it is a nighttime and lit by the glow of the full Moon. As the Moon becomes eclipsed and fades, background stars become visible and here can be seen reflected in a lake. Most spectacularly, the sky surrounding the eclipsed moon suddenly appears to be full of stars and highlighted by the busy plane of our Milky Way Galaxy. The sequence repeats with a closer view, and the final image shows the placement of the eclipsed Moon near the Eagle, Swan, Trifid, and Lagoon nebulas. Nearly two hours after the eclipse started, the moon emerged from the Earth's shadow and its bright full glare again dominated the sky. Later today or tomorrow, depending on your location relative to the International Date Line, a new total lunar eclipse will take place -- with totality being primarily visible over northeastern Asia and northwestern North America.

Sublunary
This action also takes place on Turn 12. Corobel has 2 points remaining.
Command Avatar to Create Race (-1): The Two Stars create the Eight-Eyed, a subrace of arachnid-cicada Tiktik, to guard the tunnels of the Moon. The souls of the Refusers (those who refused Haeberik’s gift of vampirism and were secreted away in the heart of the moon) are alloyed with those of Tiktik and sharpened on the whetstones of those sharpest demigods, the Two Stars. They haunt the lava-tubes and chambered caverns, dwelling in honeycombs carved of pale basalt and gleaming in the ghostly light of moonstones.
Command Avatar to Found City (-1): Coryphaeus draws lunar settlers along the coast to the ancient crater-lagoon whose centre is the Court of the Two Skies. Here, they find great vaults on a superhuman scale, riddled with neatly-curving caverns, fluted and ribbed with gentle veins of silvery rock. Spires and pinnacles tower above. Through these, the lunar winds and the voices of the Coryphaeus sing the Moon’s part in the Music of the Spheres. They build the city of Periapt.
0 points remain.
There follow some facts about the Moon.
The greatest vault is the Court, which is chambered like a heart; it contains the Firefly Embassy, where emissaries of the stars keep their strange council with the Faces of the Moon. In the Chamber of Visions, arsenal of the Sky, the celestial portents clamor silently: comets await their appointed times; meteorites, kin of the Great Serpent, crouch, eager to blaze and die.
The stone is slightly living, for it is the flesh of a god. (This is true everywhere on the moon, but especially here.) Like all living things, it feels a gentle tendency towards light, which draws it upward, spinning it into pearlescent spires and beehive kopjes. And the moon (everywhere, but especially here) seems to generate a kind of small stone, somewhat like a pearl; the colonists say that, whenever someone takes a secret with them to the grave, it lodges within the moon, and these are the pearls that grow around them, wept out like tears.
The gravity of the moon is just low enough that it’s a noticeable change from World standard. The Secret within weights heavy on the heart of the world and draws things to it as a tragedy is drawn to its conclusion.
The Conquest and its bloody culmination struck every plant on the watching moon white with grief and fear. (This only applies to parts of plants which are normally green, and some are still transparent, red, luminous blue, or various other exotic shades; this is because the Moon “has a sense of aesthetics, you know, it’s important to introduce some contrasts here and there. Plus, I like cornflowers.”)

In a lagoon upon the moon lives a very strange baboon.
From lunar rock a cocoon was hewn, and soon emerged the stone baboon named Boone.
He soon festooned the lunar dunes in his mighty moon pontoon,
but one afternoon in June, he was left marooned by a moon monsoon, left to languish in his lunar lagoon.
So in the lagoon he built a saloon, where he one day communed with a raccoon platoon.
They were the baboon Boone’s boon, and soon got him free from his lunar lagoon

Greece has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, drawing millions of tourists each year with its golden sands and glistening crystal seas. Beach enthusiasts may discover a wide variety of coastal paradises in Greece, from the pink sands of Crete to the turquoise coastline of Zakynthos. Greece's top beaches are well-known for their stunning natural surroundings, serene ambiance, and peaceful environment. Greece has something for everyone, whether you're looking for a quiet cove to unwind in or an action-packed water sports location. Every beach in Greece, from the breathtaking cliffs of Milos to the verdant beaches of Lefkada, has its own distinct charm and attractiveness. In addition to lounging on the silky dunes and swimming in the crystal-clear seas, visitors may explore underwater caves and reefs. Greece's many miles of shoreline provide beachgoers with countless chances to find hidden treasures and make lifelong memories. The greatest beaches in Greece guarantee an absolutely spectacular time by the sea, whether you're planning a family holiday, a romantic retreat, or a solitary excursion.
These are a few of Greece's greatest beaches.
1. Shipwreck Beach, or Navagio Beach, in Zakynthos: One of the most recognizable beaches in Greece is Navagio Beach, also referred to as Shipwreck Beach. It is well known for its immaculate white dunes, glistening turquoise seas, and the sunken wreckage of a smuggler that washes up on the shore. Boat access is available to the beach, where guests may take in breath-taking views of the surrounding magnificent limestone cliffs.
2. Crete's Elafonissi Beach: The shallow, pristine waters and distinctive pink sand at Elafonissi Beach are well known. This beach, which is located on Crete's southwest coast, is great for swimming, tanning, and visiting the neighboring cedar trees and dunes. In the protected nature reserve, unique kinds of plants and animals may also be seen by visitors.
 3. Kefalonia's Myrtos Beach: Many people consider Myrtos Beach to be among the most stunning beaches on the planet. On the island of Kefalonia, it is tucked away between towering cliffs and has brilliant blue seas and snow-white dunes. Swim in the crystal-clear waters, unwind on the beach, or take in the breathtaking views from the neighboring vantage spots.
4. Milos's Sarakiniko Beach: Sarakiniko Beach is renowned for its unusual lunar environment, composed of white volcanic rocks that have been shaped over millions of years by wind and waves. This beach, which lies on the island of Milos, has pristine waters that are perfect for snorkeling and discovering underwater caverns. In addition, guests may enjoy the strange view or sunbathe on the slick rocks.
5. Lefkada's Porto Katsiki: Situated on the island of Lefkada, Porto Katsiki is a charming beach that may be reached via a steep stairway built into the cliffside. Swimming, water sports, and sunbathing are all made more beautiful by Porto Katsiki's dramatic blue seas and high cliffs. Additionally, visitors may take in expansive vistas from neighboring locations.
6. Crete's Balos Beach: Situated on Crete's northwest coast, Balos Beach is a haven of silky white beaches and turquoise seas. This beach, which is reachable by boat or a lovely stroll, has shallow, clear waters that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. In addition, visitors may observe uncommon bird species in the adjacent wetlands and explore the adjacent lagoon.
7. Peloponnese beach at Voidokilia: Situated in a sheltered harbour on the Peloponnese peninsula, Voidokilia Beach is an undiscovered treasure. It is ideal for families and environment enthusiasts with its golden beaches, shallow waves, and crescent-shaped shore. For expansive views of the bay, visitors may trek up to the neighboring Palaiokastro fortification or go swimming or snorkeling.
8. Beach Falassarna in Crete: The peaceful beach of Falassarna is situated on Crete's northwest coast. It is a popular location for swimmers and sunbathers because to its pristine seas and beautiful golden dunes. In addition, visitors may stroll around the neighboring historic ruins or enjoy the breathtaking beachside sunset.
9. Beach at Agios Prokopios, Naxos: On the island of Naxos, Agios Prokopios Beach is a well-liked location because of its lengthy stretch of golden sands and shallow, blue waves. Swim in the tranquil seas, unwind on the beach, or engage in water sports like windsurfing and kiteboarding are all available to visitors. Greek food is superb and the local tavernas serve cool beverages.
10. Lefkada's Kathisma Beach: On Lefkada's western shore lies the breathtaking expanse of golden sand known as Kathisma Beach. Encircled by craggy cliffs and verdant foliage, it provides a peaceful haven for swimmers and sun worshippers. In addition to dining on the beach, visitors may rent sun loungers and umbrellas and explore the neighboring hiking trails for sweeping views of the coastline.
 Conclusion
In conclusion, anyone looking for sun, sand, and sea may find a perfect getaway on Greece's top beaches. Every beach, from the well-known Zakynthos coastlines to the undiscovered treasures of Milos, has its own distinct beauty and appeal. Getting a Greece visa from India is the first step for Indian tourists who want to visit these breathtaking locations and take in Greece's seaside splendours. Possessing a Greece visa enables travelers to enjoy the crystal-clear seas of Crete, unwind on the golden beaches of Lefkada, and take in the jaw-dropping cliffs of Santorini. Nomi J. - writeblr intro
Hello everyone! My name is Nomi J. (any pronouns) and I am an adult fiction and 18+ erotica writer. My narratives center around queer characters and experiences and are typically magical realism or high fantasy. I'm always happy to chat with people about writing, so don't be shy about messaging me or sending asks if the mood strikes you. I'm a Tumblr veteran of at least eight years (so I've seen it all, no really.) I've been writing for many years, but have only recently had the courage to put my work out into the world. Romance is my whole jam, and it will be the primary focus of my blog.
A note: Please steer clear if you are under the age of 18. My work is for adults only. I will block minors. You have been warned.
A bit about me...
I am in my mid twenties and definitively queer/genderqueer. I have ADHD and I will occasionally post ADHD content that relates to writing. I do not engage in discourse of any kind, as I prefer to respectfully listen to the experiences of others.
My favorite book (of all time): The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
I'm currently enjoying: Mo Dao Zu Shi (The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu
Other interests/skills of mine include art, guitar, harp, video games (particularly The Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age), and anything that involves mermaids.
Current WIPs (as posted on my blog)
Lunar Lagoon (I update when I have time for writing.)
Lunar Lagoon is a series of lesbian vignettes that started as erotica and has moved towards long form erotic romance. The main characters are Lyria and Amelia, who are drawn to each other through the sparks of both pleasure and genuine romance. This is a fast paced, supernatural romance with mermaids, lgbt themes, and an ambiguous modern setting in the Mediterranean. The narrative deals with trust, control and freedom, and autonomy in love and relationships.
Lunar Lagoon Masterpost
Crossroads (Stays in my google docs until I publish it.)
Hazel Abernathy, a witch with financial struggles, gets stood up on Valentine's Day at the swankiest club in her city. She meets two demons, Lillian and Aleksander, who give her a night to remember and a promise to continue the fun. Days later, Hazel strikes gold with an anonymous client who is willing to pay mountains of cash for a secretive issue. When she meets the client for the first time, she finds that she knows the client far more intimately than she could have anticipated. This is a spicy supernatural romance set in modern America. The relationship is a m/f/f throuple and the narrative deals with themes of grief, loss, and unconditional love.
Short Stories
Wear a Coat (link here)
A horror short story set in the Appalachian mountains, where I come from. What happens when you don’t follow your mama’s advice and go looking for berries without a coat? Maybe you’ll just get cold or maybe you’ll attract unwanted attention from something dwelling deep within the forest…
Additionally…
I write because I am passionate about it. At the end of the day, my writing is for myself, and any enjoyment that others derive from it is a lovely bonus. I do not take unsolicited constructive criticism, especially on matters of taste. All original posts on this blog are my intellectual property, and I do not give permission to repupload or cross post on any other sites.

❝ imagine a world where you're happy. ❞ - Modern!Ben
{ 🫀 You broke and bought: Modern!Ben }
Oceans disappear here. City of magic, city of moons that burn as suns. The ocean behind Ben's shoulders whittles to a whale's spine arching over a parched landscape. The sea, all that teal and fizz, was a mirage, perhaps a dream.
Ben turns away and leans forward in his seat, losing all sense of object permanence. Now he sits at a patio table, on the brim of a wide martini of a restaurant, facing Miami Beach and its depression glass skyscrapers, rosy or green, crescenting a dark lagoon. Ben listens to the buzz of human chatter, the whisper of a distant sea, its hush, its faint scent, the dryness of bone, the sense that the moons are somehow burning. On his periphery, he spots a siren or an angel, her red hair singing, buoying his heart.
"Shiloh."
He smiles. Shiloh smiles in return.
"Ben."
They discuss sun-washed lakes, lunar tides, and Pegasus, the white steed that galloped forth from the thunderous sea, his feathered sprays beset by frothing foam.
All the while, Ben feels the dead whale's presence at his back. He looks over his shoulder again. There is no carcass, no whale spine, just diners in beach colors at tables like theirs, buzzing and fizzing.
Shiloh asks him a question. He turns around, once more, and once more, and she catches Ben's gaze, and he’s caught in Shiloh’s, where Ben has no body, no tightly-seated legs, broad shoulders, or aching core, and bodilessness is freedom in Shiloh's Cupid lips, her filaments. Nothing makes sense. Ben gazes at her openly nevertheless, and that's a dream of some sort, too, he knows, but he throws himself into dreams. Knowing, as he watches Shiloh's filaments of red or copper, sprawled above her head, billowing from an invisible current, one that doesn't move through him, knowing that he's separate in a way he can't place.
He asks her what he's missed. She says, imagine a world where you're happy.
Ben's flesh prickles. Somehow he senses the whale carcass at his back again—there! Ben zeroes in on its reflection, its position on his glass, and starts, his kneecaps upsetting the table, upsetting the glass, sending it tumbling. The whale carcass shines in it like a portent in a crystal ball as the glass plummets and remains in its shards upon shattering. And so the dream shatters, and Ben shatters, upon waking in specially loomed darkness, the smell of fresh, non-branded linen, , and inside the crushing recollection that Shiloh's gone.
Ben lifts his head, glances at his phone, the hour, and drops his pillowcase-imprinted cheek back down, feels stubble raking cloth, his chest burning. He takes a breath—one, two, three, and in, one, two, three, and out. Breathing as a waltz. Breathing and swimming in visions of Shiloh—the whale—the dark lagoon—the Miami Beach that wasn't Miami at all.
Shiloh would not be as he dreamt of her, wherever life took her, wherever dreams went. Ben's already beginning to forget her face and billowing hair as he lies idle in his wonderings. Until he can only recall what Shiloh looked like the last time he saw her, and the sun is at half-mast.

February Picks
We’ve reached the end of February, darklings, and with the passing of another birthday I’m another step closer to the grave. Here’s what cropped up this month (besides that one snow-white pube…)
— FEBRUARY FUNERAL DOOM —

The album that whispered sweet nothings in my ear this month was Pleroma Mortem Est by Monovoth. I’ve covered this Argentinian drone doom project before, but Monovoth continues to set the bar higher with every release. If you’re looking for a soundtrack to our collective plod toward nothingness, then this is it.
Clamor Resonat is particularly introspective, with a distant howl drawing ever nearer. This funerary slog has the slowest of builds, but manages to avoid predictability at every turn. When the next note finally drops it’s low and slow enough to satisfy the most discerning doomheads.
Despite its brevity, Somnia stands out with its shimmering guitar tone in the sparse atmosphere. It’s unquestionably one of the most beautiful doom arrangements I’ve heard in a while.
If Somnia is all lunar radiance, then Denique Mors is the dark side of the moon. This one’s an agonized dirge with an experimental spirit. This gritty offering toys with texture and intensity. Brutal guest vocals by Lindsay O’ Connor help usher us through the gates of hell.
If you like Dylan Carlson’s sound, but wish it was more ponderous and grim, then this shit's for you. These tracks struggle with their own mortality in a sundowning world. Join the procession, and grab this on Bandcamp before your own lights go out.
— A SWEET DRONE RELEASE —

If dark ambient soundscapes are your thing, then you’ll wave your antennae with glee to know that drone master insectarium just dropped the necrophage emerges divine. Wriggle right into this sonic cocoon as we journey through the lowest moments in life and out the other side. Owlripper Recordings is always generous with their music, so scuttle down to the bottom of the Bandcamp page to find the link for a free download code.
— SAVORY SINGLES —

Long Beach doom cats O ZORN! have been serving up post-hardcore goodness lately with a string of singles. My favorite has got to be Slow Mood. Like the monster that lives in your bedroom, this brooding earworm skulks in the corner, but its hulking frame is impossible to ignore. I swear you’re going to be humming this shit all day.

February also brought us Bow Down by Detroit’s Temple Of The Fuzz Witch. It’s some properly fucking fuzzed-out blackened doom. It’s thick as tar and absolutely vicious. I want to climb into a vat of this and bathe in it until I turn into the creature from the black metal lagoon.

Until next time, doom fans.
