Emperor Xian was the final emperor of the Eastern Han dynasty in China—if you can call that empering. He was shoved onto the throne in 189 CE (at the age of eight) when the warlord Dong Zhuo seized control of the government and figured he needed a new style of figurehead, and spent the rest of his quote-unquote reign in a game of Keep-the-MacGuffin that kept him political puppet, hostage, and why-not-both. At the end of the kerfuffle three kingdoms came out on top—the territories headed by Cao Cao, Sun Quan, and Liu Bei—and in 220 CE the Cao Pi, Cao Cao's heir, finally cut the middleman and made Emperor Xian abdicate in his favor (establishing the new state of Cao Wei).

As for Ex-Emperor Xian, he was named a Duke and apparently spent the rest of his life in relative comfort. Prolly wouldn't have complained too loudly, anyway.

but like listen. i know its most likely that after they got set up by the generals they disappeared off to heptastar to chill like that but.. listen theyře a schemer, you cant double cross your war strategist and then get out scot-free so I think Wu Ce should snap and spitefully cook something up as a revenge before dipping out. ykno as a treat

(if anyones curious and read this far and wants context, all that is known from the first entry is that Jiang Ximing (white hair, heptastar) taught them when they were younger and gifted them the star moon folding fan. Wu Ce then grew up to be very talented in astronomy and scheming. they then become a war strategist and are very successful which causes their superiors to grow jealous of them and the superiors set Wu Ce up. Wu Ce disappears after that and its implied that that's when they joined heptastar pavilion)

so yea they very cool 💜💜 but my brain is so so so small 💔💔 i cant even figure out how to play as normal heptastars nevermind their absolutely convoluted 40 steps schemey cards hsajkdh

Just finished reading Jade Dynasty and oh god, I can't with how the novel ended, like wtf

First of all, I'd like to point out the beautiful writing the author has; he has a cool way of describing and decorating the paragraphs and making them fluent at the same time. Fan of his writing and I'm going to read his next shared universe novel, for sure.

Poor zxf, his life was full of sorrows, but the novel made it quite clear that mortal life is that, the peril, the existence of many tones of grey and grivances (it's not entirely that but, anyway), and I'm glad he lived up to what the novel set.

And then, I loved how by the end he was so ethereal. As if he had transcended matters of heaven and earth. Calming to a certain extent.

Now, lxq loves him so much it hurts (she was with him and let him know he wasn't alone 😭😭). The author played with us a lot because each time she was in danger and someone saved her, it was never zxf.

I'm glad they didn't officiate anything, not even in the epilogue (tho deep down that was what I wanted the most), cause zxf needed to let go of the last shadow of Bi Yao embracing him, not forget her (in fact, I liked that detail of the green robe waving near him), but rather idk, his love for her and xq changing.

I like how they both (zxf and lxq) could live well without each other and were at ease with their reunion.

It was (literally) like the last chapter of a book and the end of the story, but with a new beginning full of possibilities and a new book ready to be written.
