LU headcanon
Wild is a sneaky klepto.
Like he won't take things from the rest of the chain, he has a kind of code or something, but when the chain reaches towns/villages and anything like that, Wild leaves with 10x more then he came with.
And the rest of the chain doesn't really notice. Like they question some stuff but don't put the dots together.
"how is it that Wild breaks so many weapons but seems to always have something to fight with?" Four, Sky, and Warriors question "he must have a lot of weapons on him"
"how does he make so much food when we only see him buy a few things and scavenge a little bit?" Wonder Legend, and Hyrule? "Must have a lot saved up from before we met him."
"how did he get those boots that I swear I saw on that guy over at the tavern?" Thinks Time "must have bought them off him."
Twilight is starting to piece things together but at the same time is like saying to himself "no he wouldn't do that"
The only one who kind of knows is Wind for obvious reasons but he doesn't say anything, because he ain't no snitch.
It's not until way later in the adventure that everyone starts to notice that Wild has some pretty sticky fingers and starts to think about things that happened that would only make sense if Wild was a kleptomaniac.
1. Guards asking people if they know anything about their missing weapons.
2. Ladles, Axe's, and other stuff being there one moment and gone the next.
3. Food stuff being left out with no one watching it disappearing mysteriously.
And a whole bunch of other stuff.
Once all the pieces fell together they had to confront Wild about his stealing problem.
Now whenever they go to towns/villages they have to keep wild on a rope or someone (not Wind ever) has to watch him like a toddler.

I’ve been wanting to redraw this scene from The Inner Warrior by @bokettochild b/c I wanted to try a more BotW/ToTK look for Warrior’s dragon form. Let me know what you think!
Excerpt from the fic:
“Legend lifts a hand, waving slightly at the others. They start at the sight of him, curled against the dragon, head resting against its chest, and Warriors can see their eyes flicker to him, to the vet, back and forth and wondering. It's Four who eases first, stepping in close and looking up at him, curiosity rather than fear in his eyes.
“Made a friend?”
“Found an old one more like,” Legend drawls, smile off kilter as it tends to be, buck teeth showing just barely.”

The Chain Sleeping Headcanons
i figured why the hell not haha
Time -this man snores like a goddamned horse -often the last to sleep, makes sure everyone else is doing alright first -would be the first to rise if not for Wild getting up to make breakfast -takes watch often. he’s been chewed out by Wars + the others for not waking whoever’s next many times -very rarely sleeps in
Legend -refuses to sleep on his back unless he absolutely has to (i.e. severely ill or injured) -prefers to sleep on his side, usually curled up, but will lie on his stomach if he feels safe enough -sleeps better with at least one other person with him, but is bad at asking for it -if he’s with Ravio there’s a chance he may sleep on his back, as he knows he’s safe with him -will drop off in a few minutes if his hair is played with -sleeps best curled against someone’s chest with his face tucked in their neck. it helps him feel safe
Twilight -either sleeps sprawled flat on his back or curled up like a wolf. no inbetween -has a habit of getting up and patrolling the camp/immediate area at random points during the night. does not matter if he’s in wolf or hylian form -also snores. usually in the ear of whoever’s closest to him
Sky -he’s never had the best relationship with sleep. this has been something he’s dealt with his entire life -it was bad enough as a kid but it’s only gotten worse the older he gets -some of it is prophetic dreams or other hero shit, the rest is good old sleep disorder -naps when he can get them -chronic sleep cuddler. once he has someone in his grasp he is not letting go. no one is sure if he’s even aware he does this. good for getting Legend to sleep
Warriors -can sleep anywhere, anytime, in any position thanks to his time in the army -quick to sleep, quick to rise -usually sleeps flat on his back or curled around the nearest small body (or Time) -always has a weapon nearby
Wind -this kid alternates between alarmingly accurate starfish + octopus imitations -forming a habit of snoring. the prime suspect is Twilight -keeps a knife under his pillow
Hyrule -he sleeps best hidden away, like in a tree or cave -always has his sword nearby -he’s slowly learning to sleep with others nearby/trust others with keeping him safe as he sleeps
Wild -can go without sleep for days. this does not mean it’s healthy -if he goes long enough without sleep he crashes hard as soon as it’s safe to do so -rests best at a campfire or wherever there’s a bed. this doesn’t mean he can’t or won’t pass out anywhere -ready to get up and go whenever -tends to get up early to make breakfast
Four -either sleeps completely silently or says the weirdest shit. often sounds like fractured conversations between multiple people -similar to Wind in that he’ll wrap himself around the nearest person or contort himself into the weirdest positions. his blankets are never where they started in the morning -has occasionally been found on the opposite side of camp from where he went to sleep

A LU x Reader premise but it's a soulmates kinda thing. Like you meet them in your dreams. But there's a twist.
You're both from different worlds.
He's had these dreams of you since childhood. Dreams of you and your strange clothes and magical laughter and gentle smile. Every night he'd see you, run through the land of dreams with your hand in his, your hearts beating in a beautiful symphony. And every morning he wakes up, to just the faded after images of you.
He doesn't know your name, or where you're from. Only vague images of your face and whispers of your voice are all that he can recall each morning. It drives him mad as he grows, to have you so close to him and yet so far. He has no clue if you'll ever cross paths or if you're even real but he does know this.
That he loves you, and that he'll love you till the end of time.

I have this headcanon that Wild is just incredibly flexible, and the chain only finds out when they’ve bent themselves into a pretzel one morning.
Wild: literally bent in half
The Entire Chain: What the f u c k.
And Twilight knows and is just sitting somewhere, going ‘oh,this is normal.’
My reasoning for this you ask? Well, Wild can do entire BACKFLIPS fresh out of the shrine, which indicated at some point they must have done some sort of flexibility exercises pre-calamity. Now they can just… bend? And yes, they use this far too often to scare the everloving shit out of anyone they can find.

What If The Chain Was A Band?
What role/instrument would the Chain play if they were apart of a modern band?
Tumblr media
Time, the manager of the band! He has previous experience from being in a band but will NEVER tell the boys who it was. Time can play the ocarina and the electric keyboard guitar!
Twilight, the assistant manager! While Time does most of the business/tour work, Twilight helps out with advertising and social media (as well as other things.) But it isn’t uncommon to hear Twilight as a back up singer!
Warriors, the main vocalist/singer! Most of the Chain’s albums have him as the lead singer due to his wide range. Warriors is also known as the “face” of the group!
Sky, our acoustic guitar! He always brings chill vibes to the melody, no matter the genre. Sky actually prefers to play the harp as well as the violin but doesn’t mind the guitar.
Wild, the electric guitar player! This boy is never in the same spot for too long, always bouncing around the stage while playing!
Legend, the bassist! His bass is COVERED in stickers, which lead to fans giving him stickers/decal to add during concerts. Playful rivalry between him and Warriors, which the fans love.
Four, our drummer! He hand made his own drum-set with the help of his uncle. Four also has four sets of different coloured drums sticks and like to miss match them whenever he plays.
Hyrule, the keyboarder! Good with traditional and more electronic songs/music. Is normally closer to the front of the stage so you can often see him interacting/talking with fans!
Wind, the lyricist! While Wind is “too young” to join the band that doesn’t stop him from composing and writing the majority of the songs! But like Twilight, you can also hear him as a back up singer!

Whenever you get to this -- it's not terribly important, but how would you describe each of the chain's personalities to be like?
You’ve found my writing weakness Ladye, I struggle immensely with looking at a character and writing out their personality XD
That’s an interesting question! One I think about a lot when I’m writing actually, because at their core? All the Links are made of the same stuff. It can be difficult to parse out what makes them individuals sometimes (especially writing it out 😂) but I did my best here!
Under a readmore because this is LONG
Time - stubborn, responsible, and serious, but not as much as you’d expect from his appearance. Most leader-y of the group, he’s stern yes, but mostly only when he’s trying to keep the other Links safe (the Like Like incident, when Twilight is injured and insists he’s well enough to fight, etc). His overall personality seems to me more lighthearted then you’d expect at first glance— after all, he enjoys teasing the other Links, and even pranks them now and then.
It seems like he’s largely moved past and healed from what happened during his adventures, (probably due to how it’s been longer since them unlike the other Links), and not much seems to bother him. He can even joke about them a little (“the moon”), though he stays mysterious about details. He seems a pretty private person as well, except around his wife and a few select others.
Twilight - protective and stubborn to a fault, he cares deeply for those he loves. Another leader of the group, but he doesn’t think of himself as the leader-type as much. He falls into the role though, since the others tend to look to him, and he manages it well.
He has a melancholic sense about him, one that he’s only partially-good at hiding. He’s still very much getting over his complicated feelings about Midna’s departure, and that sadness bleeds into his personality sometimes. Good with kids and animals, knows how to wrangle them both really well, but he can be a little overprotective on occasion, and forgets how age isn’t necessarily an indicator of how responsible and/or skilled you are, which the younger Links bristle at.
Warriors - polished, put together, and a bit prideful, but he’s well aware of what happens if he gets too cocky and keeps it in check. The other leader of the group, he seems to focus largely on making plans, and keeping up the overall morale of the Links. A charmer, good at saying what people want to hear, and also figuring out what makes people tick. His first impression of people is rarely incorrect.
Good at keeping the group organized, and one of the few Links good at working alongside others, he also seems to be the one to break up fights if they get to be less teasing and more serious. Has a strong sense of justice as well, he hates those who would betray their allies/beliefs.
Four - Calm and focused and very mature, so much that several of the others believe him to be much older than he is. He’s very good at keeping his emotions in check and staying collected, right up to the point where he... isn’t. Gets frustrated with himself if he gets to that point and lashes out, but this only happens rarely.
One of the quietest Links, he tends to keep to himself, but he’s one of the heroes most used to being in a group, and generally handles it very well. Very book-smart and eager to learn, but has a deep distrust of any sort of magic that’s even remotely dark. Also knows how to keep the peace, and generally smooth flaring tempers... unless he’s the one who’s upset.
Wind - the youngest but by no means the weakest Link, Wind is a skilled fighter for his age and the brightest personality among the group. Exuberant and cheerful, his happy attitude can sometimes be taken for frivolousness. But he’s able to take a situation just as seriously as the rest of them— he just tends to look on the bright side of it.
Tends to be underestimated due to his age, and he’s not afraid to call people out on it. He fights hard to be taken seriously, and greatly appreciates how Time treats him as just as capable as everyone else. He still has a childish side to him though, which can be both a strength and a weakness.
Wild - fond of exciting schemes, always willing to go along with what seems like a crazy idea, and deeply traumatized with an identity crisis on top. Tends to be very argumentative and quick to make jokes, but usually he knows when he’s going too far (...usually). Highly defensive of Zelda, and not afraid to argue against any conceived slight against her. She had enough bad things said about her when she couldn’t unlock her powers, and he takes his defense of her seriously.
Greatly insecure about how much of a hero he is due to how he failed— being around so many others who succeeded is difficult, especially when they rarely discuss how close they all came to failing sometimes. Has the greatest trouble working in a group, and it’s caused several issues in the time he’s been with the Links, especially with those that are used to it.
Legend - prickly exterior, soft all the way through. Quick to tease and throw jabs, but he doesn’t truly mean anything by it. It’s a defensive measure more then anything to keep people at arm’s length. Could be a leader, but he chooses not to be— he doesn’t like all that responsibility on his head, and will only step up if the others are truly out of commission.
Reliable and mature for his age due to all his adventures, he seems totally unbothered by what he went through (though Koholint especially weighs heavy on his heart). Seems aloof at times, but cares just as much as Twilight, even if he doesn’t outwardly show it. Is younger than he projects himself to be.
Hyrule - humble and kind, he’s also got a level of sass that sometimes rears it’s head and surprises people. Tends to downplay himself and his skills, doesn’t think he’s a true “hero” like the others, despite being skilled in almost anything he puts his mind to. Has incredible tenacity and refuses to give up no matter the odds against him— he’s made of stronger stuff then he thinks.
Very decisive, knows when to act, and would make a great leader someday if he ever managed to get past his poor view of himself. Has a mysterious side to him as well, similar to Time’s in a way. Not the best in a group, generally prefers to be in either a smaller group or by himself.
Sky - seemingly open with his emotions, kind and cheerful, Sky seems a bit airheaded at times. But he has a great strength of spirit, and is deadly on the battlefield— those who have underestimated him have not lived to tell the tale.
Has a mischievous side that isn’t immediately evident, but it’s there, and its quite a sight to behold when his sassiness comes up with it as well. Tends to keep his heavier thoughts and emotions close to his chest though, and prefers to push through and not dwell on them, which is bad news later when it gets to be too much for him.

So You Want To Be A Hero
One would think, after all these years, he'd be more confident in his abilities.
Hyrule looked out over the tree-lined lake with a sigh and tossed a stone into the smooth water. Ripples spread outward as he watched.
After all, hadn't he saved not one, but two Zeldas? None of the others had done that! Of course, that came with its own problems, like how to deal with two princesses wanting you to hang around the castle all the time. He hadn't spent his entire life wandering around from place to place to be stuck in a drafty castle. Definitely not. So when the opportunity came to check out a strange portal, he had taken it.
And now he was with eight other people who had the same name as him and had done some impressive things. Like, really impressive. The captain led armies into battle! He was a real knight! So was the Champion, no matter what he said about forgetting and dying and all that. Real knights!  And don't even get started on the Hero of Time. Sure, maybe he wasn't a knight exactly, but almost everyone knew who he was. The real, honest to Goddesses Hero of Time. Wow.
What was Hyrule even doing here with all these heroes?
Another stone flew lazily into the lake.  He could fight, of course. They all knew it. And he could heal!  Even better! How had all these amazing heroes never even gotten a whiff of a healing spell to use between them? It just felt like bad planning. What had they been thinking?
Wait, that was a good question. What had they been thinking? Everyone always wondered what things were really like for heroes of the past and he had them right here and he could ask them.
Perfect!
Now to figure out how to do that.
(Read the rest on AO3!)
A fun little Hyrule-centric fic. Just a lot of "the chain talks to each other" sort of thing.

Really glad to see a lot of ppl liked my Draconified Links Au (yes that’s the official name of it now) so I’m gonna talk about some of my ideas surrounding lore and shit
Of the nine dragons, Wild is the ONLY one to have swallowed a secret stone in order to become a dragon. He encounters the other eight dragons during his totk journey (lu hasn’t happened) after they all appeared during the upheaval and is confused why they all seem to accept his presence. In this au, the dragons have some sense of a personality but it’s limited to Legend not liking people climbing on him and flying erratically or Twilight keeping watch of Wild if he walks around his flight path. Just little hints to how they used to be.
Sonia and Rauru were unable to restore Zelda’s human form, and in a desperate attempt to reunite with her Wild takes Mineru’s secret stone and eats it, becoming the Dragon of the Wild.
As for the others, I’m still not 100% sure but the idea I’m leaning more towards is that all of them died at some point in their adventures and to ensure their spirits live on/are remembered in some way Hylia resurrected them as dragons. They’re sort of in a purgatory where they’re neither dead nor alive and Wild joins them in this state but can sort of communicate with them more. Suddenly Hyrule’s sky becomes filled with dragons that barely anyone can see but those who can often see multiple flying around together at once. No conversations or anything, they’re just chilling
I’ll eventually draw out some designs, maybe as part of my October challenge, as well as go more in depth on their flight patterns, drops and nature but for now it’s all very loose ideas and nothing really makes sense at the moment. If anyone does have better ideas let me know!! I am sick rn so brain is not completely braining

♡ Bunny Flops ♡
Legend flops when he’s happy.
Part one!
The first time it happens, they’re all gathered around the campfire, happy and content from a relaxed day of travel and a hearty meal. Conversation is soft; with no urgent matters vying for their immediate attention, chatter flows easily from one subject to another. Legend shifts from his place on a log to sit on the ground, resting his back against it. Bringing one leg up, he wraps his arms around it to rest his cheek on his knee.
He’s... content, he realizes. Here, with these heroes, talking and laughing about everything and nothing like close friends (like brothers)... A small smile lifts his lips as Wind lightly punches Warriors on the shoulder, only to shriek with laughter as the older boy grabs him in a headlock to ruffle his hair in retaliation. Yeah... content.
Without realizing it, he slowly tips over until he lands on his shoulder with a soft oomph! Hyrule, who’s next to him, lets out a squeak of surprise as Legend’s head lands on his thigh. The Vet gives a sigh, relaxing into the contact. His eyes flutter closed.
Hyrule, for his part, hovers his hands awkwardly, unsure what to do with the unexpectedly calm Veteran lying against his leg. He catches Sky’s eye across the fire and gestures helplessly. The Chosen Hero’s eyes widen before he lets out a soft coo, catching the attention of the others.
“Aawww, did he fall asleep?” Wind asks, his eyes bright. Warriors starts to grin, and Hyrule shoots him a glare. He doesn’t think Legend would appreciate being teased right now.
“...I don’t think I’ve ever seen ‘im so relaxed,” Twilight remarks. He shifts to better see the Veteran, who is indeed very relaxed. He doesn’t so much as stir when Hyrule finally lowers his hands, resting one on his head.
...Hold on. Gently, Hyrule threads his hand through Legend’s hair (marveling quietly at how soft it is). There’s no response.
Frowning now, because Legend always gets defensive when someone touches his hair, Hyrule removes his hand from his hair and shakes his shoulder. Legend doesn’t so much as twitch.
“Um, guys? I think-” Hyrule’s breath catches at the sudden swell of worry in his chest. “I think something might be wrong.”
The other heroes snap to attention at that, Warriors scrambling to his feet and hurrying over. He copies Hyrule, reaching out to shake their unconscious brother’s shoulder. The result is the same- that is to say, nothing. Wars’ brow creases in concern.
“Do you think it’s a curse?” Wind whispers loudly. There’s a bark of surprised laughter followed by a cough.
“I think we would’ve noticed if somebody got cursed, Sailor,” Warriors disagrees, checking Legend’s pulse worriedly. It’s steady and strong; whatever’s happening, it’s not affecting his heart, which rules out a number of other possible causes. If his heart was affected, it’s likely his organs and lungs and quite possibly his brain would be too, all of which would be bad. Luckily, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
“It can’t be poison, we all ate the same thing,” Four mutters, sounding deep in thought. “Legend isn’t the type to eat things he finds out in the woods, either, so I doubt it came from that.” Hyrule and Wild shift somewhat guiltily at that. It’s a hard-learned habit born of survival, but that doesn’t mean everything they put in their mouths is safe to eat. “Warriors, can you see if maybe there’s an injury we didn’t notice? I know he usually doesn’t hide things like that, but it’s possible he didn’t know either.”
The Captain nods and gently, with Hyrule’s help, shifts Legend to check his back and sides, then after a moment of thought, his legs. There’s nothing. He sits back on his heels and just... observes. For all appearances, Legend is simply fast asleep.
He relays as much to the rest of the Chain, whose expressions shift from worry to confusion and disbelief. Legend never sleeps deeply or well, even after several months of travel together. It’s something they’ve all become accustomed to, so seeing him so loose and unguarded is odd at best.
With nothing else to do, everyone slowly goes back to what they were doing before, leaving Hyrule, Warriors, and a still-sleeping Legend in a quiet huddle. After a moment Wars shifts so his back is against the log with Legend’s legs across his lap. Their brother sleeps on.
The odd peace lasts perhaps another half hour before Legend finally stirs. Violet eyes blink open to stare sleepily at the fire. Wind is the first to notice and his gasp alerts the rest of them, startling Legend out of his sleepy half-doze.
“He’s awake!!!” In one swift movement their youngest bounds across the fire towards them. He skids to a stop on his knees and Warriors winces. Wind doesn’t seem to notice or care about the surely-raw skin that resulted and stares at Legend with his signature wiggly frown. Legend, for his part, stares back with wide eyes that slowly shift to meet each of the Chain’s, who are staring back at him.
“...what?” he croaks.
Wars opens his mouth to answer when he’s cut off by a flood of concerned questions.
“Are you okay?”
“What happened? You just passed out and-”
“We couldn’t wake you but Wars said nothin’ was wrong-”
“You don’t look sick-!”
Legend’s shoulders begin to rise. Warriors chuckles, the sound a half-sigh as he drags his hand down his face, relieved. The Vet twitches at the sound and twists around to look at him, his face falling into a scowl.
“What?” Legend asks again. He’s starting to look distinctly annoyed now. Warriors only chuckles again.
And there’s our grumpy Veteran, he thinks fondly, giving his brother a smirk.
Legend puffs up like an angry cat and shoves himself to his feet. “Whatever,” he grumbles, stalking away to where they left their bags. The others’ voices follow him, high and worried. Legend snarks back a response, though his shoulders lose some of their tension. Warriors watches him go, his smirk falling into something softer as he exchanges a glance with Hyrule.
Yeah, he’s fine.

Linked Universe x Reader where they call you a cute pet name like princess.
At first when you hear it you're confused and a bit taken aback. After all princess is a very old kind of pet name that's rarely heard anymore. Especially since you're not royalty. They call you this for awhile and you take it in stride and even grow to somewhat enjoy the pet name. And then one day you find out why they call you that.
They call you princess because you're brave and kind. You're patient and compassionate and you put the world around you to shame with how bright and beautiful your soul and personality is. Much like their beloved princesses from their respective times, you'd become just as precious to them and thus the princess of their hearts.

[The chain meeting Hylia’s chosen hero]
First: A pleasure to meet thee. Wherefore art thou here? Thou’dst be warriors of mine kind, no? Speaketh, for thy account is high sort after.
The Chain: [looking expectantly at Sky]
Sky:
Sky: [finger guns] Incomprehensible. Have a nice day.
Rough translation (hopefully I did this kinda right):
Nice to meet you. Why are you here? You would be Hylian warriors, right? Do speak, because I really want to know about you all.
