I think you will recognize this portion of the home invasion fic from your lovely bedtime story:

Roy pulled up to Jamie’s house at 3:59 am. Since Roy took the manager position, the four am training with Jamie has been few and far between. Roy was busy with match prep, training prep, having to actually read the scouting reports now, and dealing with everything he never realised his managers worked through. Jamie crawled across the finish line of the season last year, and Roy was not letting that happen again, so Jamie’s additional training was carefully rolled back to include less cardio, more active rest days. But every few weeks, Roy got to join his friend for training like old times. 

Roy felt tense as he exited his SUV, but he couldn’t pinpoint why. The air felt charged despite it being slightly warmer than it usually was in February. He shut his door and caught sight of Jamie’s cars. Both had their windshields smashed in. Roy had dropped Jamie off just last night after reviewing match tape. Even at his prickiest levels of prick, Jamie couldn’t have gotten himself into trouble in that short of time. 

 Fuck. He ran the short distance to the front door, banging on it with his fist. Four AM was the hour people were statistically least prepared to defend themselves, after all.

“Jamie! Jamie!”

He banged on the door louder and then throws his shoulder into the door. He stumbled into the foyer as the door hits something solid. In the darkness Roy can’t make out the form, but the noise it emitted as the door crashed into it will haunt Roy’s dreams. 

It’s not even a whimper, more like a whine. Not a noise humans are supposed to make. It’s so dark, and Roy’s brain can’t keep up. It had only been a minute or two since he arrived at Jamie’s, he struggled to comprehend how he got to where he was now. Another noise escaped the shape on the floor, shockingly even more pained than the previous sound. Roy switched on his headlamp.

“Fucking hell,” the blob finally whispered, voice quiet and pained.

WAHHHH I LOVE THIS 🥺🥺🥺 the pining and flirting and slowburn of it all… model!satoru and his favorite designer suguru geto, both of them undeniably skilled and born with an eye for fashion….. well-known and adored……..

designer!suguru who gets tasked with showing you the ropes, who’s always so patient and kind despite your inexperience. diligent with his teaching but also so laidback, so easy to talk to… he looks intimidating, but he’s so polite that you can’t help but swoon a little. and he admires your enthusiasm so much…… grows fond of you soooo quickly bc you’re just such a breath of fresh air compared to the divas he’s forced to work with all the time. he thinks you’ve got real potential and he wants to nurture it.

and ofc you end up running into model!satoru eventually…. bc he’s always hanging around suguru whenever he gets the chance. and he’s maybe a little jealous that you’re hogging so much of his personal designer’s attention, but… he also thinks you’re so cute . T_T like a little puppy following suguru around… so excited to be apart of something you’ve dreamed of for so many years……… he looks into your eyes and sees the same sparkle he had before he made it big, and it makes his heart race.

yeah . i’m just thinking abt the peaceful coffee breaks with suguru….. how he’d insist on paying for your drink, ”since he’s your senior” (he wants to be your favorite </3)…… and how he’d just be so protective over his little intern. don’t get me started on the close proximity with satoru when you’re taking his measurements, the glance and smile he sends your way during an impromptu shoot… the way he always calls for you with a sweet coo of ”how’s my favorite intern doing today?”

imagining azul as a type of cannibalistic octopus, on your first night together he’s spent so long hyping himself up and grueling over whether or not he’s content giving himself to you, eventually coming to terms with it and deciding to make the event as romantic & easy to clean as possible. when the deed is done, he’s so anxious and pathetic and practically withers away as he looks at you,,, he knows what comes now… but when your teeth don’t tear at his flesh, he looks at you with confusion, a bit disappointed by the lack of development, but far more relieved. He asks and you explain that humans don’t cannibalize their partners,,, and it clicks. so many others can come back and brag about their partners and he’s a bit embarrassed by the revelation, but SO relieved. it’s a cute thing, he’s so excited to continue living with you

AAAAAA YES YES. OTL Azul who is only familiar with mer courtship and sex customs, so he's fully prepared to give himself to you after he spends so much time mulling it over. Aaaaa he's so cute, preparing so many snacks to make sure you're well-fed and too distracted to think about eating him after the fact. Azul being too worried to do anything face to face, so he fucks you from behind instead. hey. if you're a live tapes enjoyer, do yourself a favor and go listen to the 03-01-2024 Grace Cathedral solo show tape. i listen to a lot of live tapes and this has hands down the most breathtakingly gorgeous acoustics I've ever heard. the way the church echoes is absolutely ethereal and the performance is haunting and beautiful. this tape is one for the books, for sure.

if you call himmel pathetic i'm throwing hands at you. himmel showed the purest form of love for frieren and you guys think that's pathetic? what's pathetic is not respect other people's feelings or boundaries and acting like people owe you anything just because you like them. himmel was happy to have a friendship with frieren within her own conditions just because he genuinely enjoyed her as part of his life. he was happy to wait for her for his entire life is he had to but he also never stopped living for himself. that's fucking beautiful. loving someone so much you are able to let them go, not wanting to change who they are or impose anything on them? unconditionally, nonetheless? that's the point of life.

#either platonically or romantically having people genuinely appreciate you and having genuine connections with people is what makes life #worth living #frieren is a beautiful show about loss grief and how people change you just by being present in your life how they add to your life how #your true friends inspire you and how we keep each other's memories alive how love is timeless despite the finality of our human condition #and you tell me himmel is pathetic? #what a joke #i'm biting himmel haters like an enraged chihuahua #infection you with the power of love so you understand that loving makes the world more beautiful #besides frieren not understanding her own feelings at the time she always cared for himmel and the others as well #she just took more time to learn how to reciprocate and demonstrate the importance they had for her #because she isn't humans which is normal #a big part of life for everyone is having regrets and wishing it wasn't too late #frieren explores that perfectly #the friendships in that story are so pure and well nurtured #it's a shame internet culture rotted your brains so much that you think there's something inherently wrong with having unrequited feelings #and being okay with it #it's a shame you reduce such a genuinely good character who proved his will was above anything mystical to a 'simp' #anyways. himmel stays winning. #he put a ring on it too like imagine thinking he's losing when frieren is having dead wife flashbacks of him the entire show

i love reading a bunch of fics from one author and noticing all those small nuances that make their writing so unique

vivid metaphors they like to use, the structure of their sentences and how lovingly they craft their stories, their kinks showing even if the fic isn't focused on them, their small ramblings in the author's notes, when they describe their favs with such painful accuracy and dedication it leaves no room for doubt how much they love their blorbo, speech patterns that make you wonder what their voice and their accent would sound like if you'd have a face to face talk...
