ALSO. yeah i’m still on this. it’s a bit insane to say lucy gray didn’t actually love him when she literally continued a relationship with him after the games. like she let him meet her family she took him to their secret place she was not faking that to survive…. HE thinks her love was fake because that’s how he conceptualize her “betrayal” rather than owning up to the fact it was HIS fault she left him…. i just don’t think it makes sense to say she was like. playing up a relationship with him when it so clearly WAS real enough to her that she entrusted him with all that…. again i’m normal about it it’s chill

4 - movie of the year

if I knew I would get this so much I wouldn't have listed so many movies the first time omg... instead I'm going to talk more about one that is simply speaking to me rn get over it.... literally love won <3 and kirsten dunst is there and she's so silly and charming and she accidentally shoots her crush with a crossbow and she writes little songs... and at the end the whole cast dances.to september by earth wind and fire while wearing cute outfits... the whole film builds up this musical version of midsummer night's dream with this insane ridiculous hardcore director and then at the end it's just another terrible high school production. and it's SO cute and ridiculous and asks questions like what if troy and lysander were boy band members <3 he was in love and he knew it was going to last forever.... boy was he a dumbass!!! it's literally high school musical but not good 😁🫶

7 - favourite actor of the year

HAVANA ROSE LIU.... so glad to see her get attention in bottoms so thrilled to discover she's interested in women I love her... and of course kirsten dunst I simply haven't shut up about kirsten dunst the number of times I've seen her in movies this year is honestly embarrassing. not my fault she's the queen of fun ridiculous movies!!! she's just so crazy charming and bright and all her roles are incredible...

14 - favourite book you read this year

godddd maybe deliverance that's so embarrassing. it's just so rich and multi-layered and the prose is really beautiful 😿 I was compelled... but young mungo was also really really good !

you know the big stuff our minds have been melded together horrors bonded us for life you're quite literally the only one who Gets It etc you know all this so I'll say something new <3 I deeply love and admire your approach to film and what it means to be a good movie you've genuinely really changed my perspective (this has been a long time in the making since early 2021 when I started riverdale but there's no doubt you've been a huge part of it 🖤) on how to judge a film and that well there is always some piece of passion and love imbued in work however potentially shabby that makes it all worthwhile. I've never derived so much joy from movies as I have since taking your approach and it's just. it's great :) I love whimsy and earnestness and passion! and watching a film and being like oh beth would love this (debs and honor society btw. not to be pushy 🫣)... and as a little thing ur url is the biggest slay of the century. actually all your urls are so good they make me jealous tbh. ON THE SUBJECT OF COMMUNITY. stop fucking complaining about pierce!! we know! the show knows! the show is about bad people! and like he's explicitly the fucking antagonist half the time (dnd episode, bequeathing ep, paintball s2 part one, etc) because a story NEEDS an antagonist to cause conflict and obstacles for our characters to overcome. 'community would be so much better without pierce' NO IT WOULDN'T BE! who would present the haunting mirror of who jeff could one day become if he stays selfish and cynical? who would be proof that even the worst of us have humanity and it's always about choosing to be good? who would deliver the line I don't know why gay is an insult these people are alright!!! like yes he sucks but stop acting like that's a flaw of the show and not deliberate for his character. I was madder about this than I thought I would be. it's literally so annoying though like sir this is the finding the humanity in terrible people show...
