Updated Reference! Meet Four, the European Bee-Eater!
Facts about Four:
He likes insects as snacks, but Wild’s the only other one who will crunch on them plain. Wild tends to hide them if he doesn't want to share.
Social birb! He hangs out with the group and he's good at working with others!
He tends to switch from avian to avian for company, but Sky is his favorite to sleep under his wings. He'll sometimes go cuddle with Wild if he's feeling lonely.
He’s really good at long distance flights, being a migrating bird.
Four doesn’t mind a little dirt and sometimes digs around in it; he likes a dust bath.
Chatters a lot, but it’s not always useful. Most of the group's pretty good at tuning him out; not to be mean, but because he'll comment on ANYTHING all the time. The scenery, blacksmithing techniques, new hobbies, a topic he overhead, a question about someone's adventure...and on and on. He's getting better at controlling it, but he likes to talk to new people.
When he splits, the orange on his wings changes to match each Color (Red, Blue, Green, Violet). The rest stays the same.
Shadow is a Rosy Bee-Eater. His wings are all black except the coverts on the underwing, which are red.

“Don’t freak out, please.”
Charlie feels a little hysterical at how calm Baghera is right now with all— this. “Don’t freak out? I’m not freaking out I am so completely and utterly calm right now.”
“Good!” She cheers, “It isn’t a big deal, right? We’ll be okay.” Baghera says happily as she’s actively melting into the ground, limbs turning a translucent yellow as her bones start poking out of what was always solid skin. Charlie whimpers a little at the sight, unable to acknowledge the new appendages at his back or along the side of his face. He can’t even talk about the fact that his bones are firmly in place. What he would give to pull a rib or three out in stress right now.
“Is slime like come. Or the feeling of breast milk? What if it was?”
“Baghera.” Charlie doesn’t even know how to continue that or even begin to reply, “You’re a piss-yellow more than anything. Go that direction, at least.”
The pile of goop bubbles and gurgles happily and holy fuck this is weird, knowing she’s laughing, amused and silly silly silly, but not being about to understand anything else than surface-level emotions. Something bubbles up in his own throat and he has to swallow it, panicked. The pile of lemon jello ripples happily and Charlie desperately needs someone more adult than them here. Phil. Where is Philza Minecraft. He can fix this switch-a-roo they’re stuck in.
“Were you going to chirp? You swallowed like you were going to chirp, Charlie.”
“Stop watching me swallow, you’re weird.”
Baghera sounds too delighted when she talks back, “Not until you chirp. Oh! Maybe you can fly! You are not a duck, but you still have w-“
Charlie groans loudly, “Don’t say it. Don’t.”
The pile of Baghera stays quiet and Charlie worries she lost her voice box in the mess of bones and organs, but he’s not that lucky. The mound bubbles.
“Your wings look like they belong to a little bird, like a hummingbird or a green bee-eater-”
“Baghera Jones what did I just-”
It’s fine. This is all fine. The wings at his back flutter anxiously and the ones at his temple keep trying to block his face like they want to protect him. Charlie wants to throw himself off of cliff to see if he can fly or just to die in general, but he has no idea how avian hybrids work. There’s no time for tests when his best friend is becoming one with the ground, also.
“Okay, enough goofing, it’s bucket time, Jones.”
“Oh, I have never had bucket time, I’m so excited! How many will it take? Can we bring my bones, please?”
Despite the situation they’ve found themselves in, Charlie smiles hard enough for it to hurt. He’s happy Baghera is here with him.
“At least five buckets. And of course, we can bring your bones.”
Her happy chittering doesn’t stop the entire trip it takes to find another islander to help them. And if Charlie lets out a few accidental chirps and trills too, there’s only one other person around to hear, and he’ll never mind that it’s Baghera.

I'm trying to troubleshoot getting my family's beardie to eat his greens, since he's almost three and usually doesn't even touch them. Recently when I had the house to myself for a few days I noticed that if I gave him his food and left the room for a little I would find him eating when I came back, but as soon as he noticed me he would stop and ignore it for the rest of the day.
Is it possible he just doesn't like to be watched while eating his veg? He doesn't seem to mind it at all when we give him bugs since I usually stick around to make sure he eats them all and none end up living in his enclosure.
The room we keep him in is normally constantly occupied but could covering his cage front for a while after we give him food work?
We usually give him turnip greens if thats any help. As well as the occasional carrots or blueberries. Tricks like sprinkling his food with cilantro or bee pollen hasn't seemed to work though we often give him cilantro anyway.
He's a good weight so its not a super pressing issue but I want to do what I can to make sure he gets the proper diet.
Ooh, sounds like you've got a difficult little guy.
It might really just be that he wants some privacy. Covering the front of his enclosure could definitely help there, I do that all the time with shy eaters and it tends to work really well.
One thing that might help is getting a bunch of safe greens and seeing if he takes to any well. Turnip greens aren't always the most palatable - maybe give mustard greens, collard greens, and endive a try and see if he likes any of them better, those all tend to be popular beardie favorites. Try some new fruits as well to help keep him interested - a lot of beardies really like apples.
A few other tricks I've had success with to get picky beardies interested:
Misting the greens with water
Flavored calcium powder - my old beardie wouldn't touch his greens unless he had his strawberry-banana flavored calcium
Offer his favorite insects along with the greens - an occasional fatty, tasty treat (like hornworms) can help him associate veggie time with fun treats
Squashing blueberries a little so they flavor the rest of the greens
Cut the food into smaller pieces to make it more interesting and less intimidating - some beardies are a little stressed out by big pieces!

Cannibal town was always a hoot, it’s been a great home to Alastor for many a year and found it in a strange way comforting. Though it was not where he resided on purpose, when those days hit where he had too much gossip in his bones he would go out of his way to find Rosie and spill anything he had. Within reason. After all, everyone had their secrets, and his most unkempt secret was Aelia, a rather sweet tart of a demon who’d been floating like a bee around the radio demon for some time now. No one could fathom why, but no one would question it since the red demon himself had a rather large cast of unseemly characters these days. Her on the other hand he kept at arms distance rather than a good five meters away.
Rosie especially kept an eye on this, after all even an ace in the hole like Al still deserved to find companionship in all its shapes and sizes. Not that he made it very clear what she was to him. One moment it could be a silly friendship, the next possibly romantic and just at the tail end she could be a victim for the taking. Every so often Rosie swore she could see a chain on her neck but just as she saw it it faded. Like a red string of fate that southerners would speak of.
It seemed now that the red string had brought them arm in arm to the town square for a feast. A celebration of new friends, from Charlie to yourself it was all to be celebrated. Alastor hadn’t come with Charlie this time, instead the demon was arm in arm with the swan demon, their horns gleaming in the glow of the lights swinging just above. “Alastor! My sweet swan!” Rosie called cupping Aelia’s cheek and gingerly reaching for Alastor’s hand, “A pleasure to see you two arrive! Charlie and Vaggie have been setting up for a bit but I’ve been waiting for the two of you for the music!” She grinned, sharp teeth gleaming.
Aelia smiled softly at the woman leaning into Alastor gently, the limit of proximity boundaries not often tested and gingerly accepted on the demon's part this once. He didn’t go rigid but a hum escaped him, dusted with radio static. “A pleasure Rosie! I will gladly get it set up as long as you don’t mind my music!” He explained with a slight boy, releasing Aelia from his arm he pat her atop the head, “Why don’t you go find my radios dear and I’ll set us up a table!” His ever present static dissipated and he swept off with Rosie to get the final preparations done for their table.
The young avian demon let out a small sigh, she had been hoping for a little more time but as the older radios and gramophones showed up in green smoke, beautiful magic as always. Flapping her wings once in preparation she flowed gracefully to them, prepping them to the same station or moving the needle to the right starting point. Wings causing a pleasant breeze to mix the blood of the food and sweets that were brought by others. Copper and sweet confectioners sugar. When the final one was set correctly the music began. Upbeat jazz music began to coax the crowd from their bloody feasts, bringing them closer to the gazebo as they began to pair up.
Most of those in Cannibal town had come together not just because they are human eaters, like minded in that sense, but because they also died around the same time. Even Alastor could be counted amongst them. The only reason Vaggie fit in there was because Charlie was the princess of hell and they had to welcome her in with open arms now, Aelia on the other hand didn’t have a chance. Floating back to the cobblestone, a shadow appeared beside her, forming quickly into Alastor as he extended a hand to her, “Care for a dance?” He asked, his big grin pouring into the avian demon.
Surprise coated her expression before the small hearts began to form in her pupils. “I-I’m not really… versed in dancing.” She admitted almost avoiding his hand at first but as he didn’t remove it from the offer.
“I’ll teach you then!” Without missing a beat he snatched her wrist and pulled her between a few other couples. Though it was a ‘leave room for Jesus’ type dance it was still closer than they often were. Almost toe to toe, sometimes even bumping shoes as he sent her through the movements. Like a rag doll she followed until it was more like a puppeteer.
“My deer I-” He lit up for a second before she could get another word out, his eyes narrowing slightly in a teasing way, the previous hears in her eyes being accentuated by her blush. Oftentimes when she wasn’t thinking it might slip, her adoration for him was no secret and he’d take advantage of it whenever he saw the opportunity.
“Hush you’ll do fine,” He whispered, bringing his head down slightly so his mouth was near her ear, quoting the song in a slightly sing-song way.
‘I wanna be loved by you and you alone.’
His voice low, backed by a subtle amount of static so no one else could hear, causing the hearts to grow in her eyes as she tried to imagine he was just singing along. He was the type to tease and test, so who knew if he meant it just to her as he led her around the open dance floor whispering the lyrics in her ears. His heart thumped to the rhythm of the music while hers took up the tempo of jazz. Every so often Al would check in with her, dipping her down or gently twirling her to ask a question while Rosie giggled and pointed them out. An ever supportive friend.
Maybe he was taking notes from Angel to tease the blush out of her, watch what would make her squirm. Regardless of his angle, manipulation or not, it was polite and respectful at face value. Something Aelia couldn’t and didn’t want to see past, she wanted to look into those deep crimson eyes and see love reflected in them, not hunger or manipulation so that’s what she saw. Gently spinning her he brought her across the dance floor to their table.
Delicately decorated in reds and whites, strawberry cakes, tarts, and gently blood garnished dishes. Though Cannibal town had it’s downs ever since Alastor came back they’d had a newfound appreciation for aesthetics in their food and he’d made sure to make Aelia’s look extra appealing, jambalaya for the two of them no doubt but it was decorated in such a soft way you could be fooled into thinking Rosie did it herself. If it weren’t for the small garnish of fake radio static on each plate which Alastor put on each of his dishes then it would have been a lie.
A smile tugged at Aelia’s lips and Alastor brightened, there it was, the smile he’d fought for, the one he’d been after, a hard one chased. His static paused and he reached out pinching her cheek, “There it is. The little swans smile.” He teased almost proudly before pulling out her chair, gesturing for her to take a seat.
It took her a moment to process, first the pinch, her hand delicately touched where Al had pinched, a softer more embarrassed smile taking the smile of awe. “Little swan hm?” She finally managed as she sat on the lawn chair gently scooting in.
“I have to admit Rosie was right on the money when she called you that.” There was much more behind that but currently he was much too excited for food. Though he didn’t often express it, or even give into his cannibal tendencies this was one time he’d agreed to be human. For Charlie, for Rosie, for Aelia.
Her heart picked up a beat, the nickname sticking was a twist, especially if Alastor was going to hold on to it, “Thank you.” Her shell was slowly being cracked open, a sweet side coming through, fighting to show it to Alastor but also keep it hidden from the world they both lived in.
Taking a small bite of his food he chewed carefully before reaching a hand out to her, his claws skimming the skin to not hurt her. “Thank you for coming dear, I would have hated to come unaccompanied to such an event! You fill a void with a bright presence!” Was he just listening to himself talk? “You’ll have to keep accompanying me though now, I’m not one to jump from person to person!” No, that had to be him setting up something. Aelia giggled, lifting her own fingers and wrapping them in his. Her free hand lifted the bloody wine to her lips, letting the crimson stain the corners of her mouth as she paused. “Let’s make it a deal.” He offered as he rubbed the tip of his finger on her hand.
Her heart leapt and she almost choked on the wine. “Alright I’ll make a deal on it, I’ll attend with you, just as long as we can have a good time.” She offered, her words almost fumbling over each other.
Small sparks of green magic left his fingers but there was no chain, no offering of souls, instead the smile he had met his eyes for the first time in a long time, “Then my little swan, it’s a deal~.”

Unusual Dionysus devotionals:
Basket weaving - baskets are sacred to Dionysus, hence the epithet ‘cittophorus’ meaning basket-bearer.
Do drag/cross dressing - one of his epithets was ‘pseudanor’ meaning ‘false man’, which you could interpret as being related to cross dressing.
Eat meat - another of Dionysus’ epithets was ‘omadios’ or flesh eater, alluding to human sacrifice. I wouldn’t try cannibalism though. If you’re vegan or vegetarian, try a meat substitute like a beyond burger or tofu.
Make a thyrsus with foraged objects - find a pinecone, a large stick (or fennel stalk if possible) and some ribbon. Carve the bark off the stick and sand it back. Glue the pinecone to the top and wind colourful ribbon around it in Dionysus’ colours (purple, gold red, green etc).
Go deer hunting - make sure you or whoever is shooting is a brilliant shot, as you don’t want the animal to suffer. Go through the process of butchering the animal, eating the meat and tanning the hide to get close and comfortable with the cycle of life and death, which Dionysus is a big part of. Wear the deerskin when you go into altered states. I’ve never gone hunting, but my neighbour is a brilliant shot and shoots wallabies when the local population becomes to big, because otherwise the wallabies starve to death with not enough food in the winter. A quick, painless death is kinder and the meat isn’t wasted (yes, you can eat wallaby), and we don’t end up with overpopulation. PLEASE DO NOT HUNT BIG GAME. Seriously. Safari hunting is unnecessary and targets endangered species for the purpose of having a trophy. I know Dionysus wore a leopard skin, but stick to fake leopard fur. If you’re vegan or vegetarian, there are lots of faux furs you can use instead.
Save the bees: honey is a favourite offering to Dionysus and it was said to drip down his thyrsus. By planting bee attracting flowers and not using potentially harmful pesticides, you can help your local bee population. You can also set up a ‘bee hotel’. Purchase local honey if you can! My dad is a beekeeper and he takes so much pride in keeping his bees safe and healthy, but lately everyone’s bees have been dying. It’s really distressing in the beekeeping community, and likely due to a mix of pesticides and climate change, where flowers aren’t blooming due to the weather.
Attend a pride parade - dress as a satyr or maenad and attend pride to celebrate the queer aspect of Dionysus. People will love your costume - I promise. For a satyr, little horns and deer makeup are cool. For a maenad, wear ivy in your hair and loose white clothing. People go to pride in all sorts of clothes so you won’t stick out.
Visit the graveyard where your relatives are buried, or a local graveyard if you don’t have relatives buried near where you live - Dionysus is associated a lot with the dead, and one part of Anthestria was pouring libations on the graves of the deceased. DO NOT TOUCH RANDOM GRAVES. A lot of the time it’s disrespectful, especially in certain cultures. As I don’t have relatives buried in my state, I visit the local graveyard and just sit there, listening to the sea and feeling at peace. I also read about the people buried there and pray that they are at peace.
Go thrift shopping for things he might like - take Dionysus thrift shopping with you and buy things you are drawn to for his altar. I got these at the thrift store:

Flynn grew up living between shore and sea so her diet consists of a lot of seafood, but I think she gets a hankering for steak which is a rare delicacy for a pirate. She's definitely lactose intolerant but the kind that eats dairy anyway XD least favourite food is probably anything green and leafy like lettuce or cabbage
17. how did they spend their summers/free time as a child?
While on land during the summer months she befriended a minor noble woman and they'd explore the city and coast together, they'd later become engaged. Flynn's family owned successful antique business that dealt in artefacts from ranging their homeland to across the sea. While at sea during summer she'd hangout with her cousins who'd catch her up on gossip she'd missed XD
And for Husk:
21. their favorite place to be?
Husk loves places filled with nature and prefers being on the road to cities. But if they are forced to be in a city they want to be in a place they can cause the most mischief XD
When they were growing up in Iljak their favourite place was an abandoned house over a hidden entrance to the sewers that lead to where they and their friends lived, it had a beautiful view of the city and it felt safest to be themself there while in daylight :D

They've always been very quiet and come off a little cold at first (at least if you meet them as ‘Husk’ otherwise all of their personas are usually polite and unassuming). When they were younger they'd be described as reckless and hot headed, their temper was always on a short fuse but as they grew older they learned to be more fey about it (sudden thousand bees attack). Husk now is much more calculating, they don't like others knowing what they're thinking but to those they are allied or close with they are staunchly loyal and they are an “actions speak louder than words” kind of fey XD

Mistletoe Kisses
“Mistletoe! Kiss!”
Wind’s shout had the two avians in the hall away freezing, looking up. A bundle of mistletoe has been hung in the hallway and Wind is pressed to the upper railing, watching for victims.
Sky laughs and leans down, pressing a kiss to the top of Four’s head. The bee-eater giggles and ducks under Sky’s feathers, before popping up and tackling the Frigatebird from behind.
They continue, leaving Wind to his prank.
“Mistletoe! Kiss!”
Warriors flips off the tropicbird, but Twilight slings an arm around his shoulder and plants a loud smack on his cheek.
“It’s in the rules!” Then he bolts because the captain’s threat call doesn’t sound like a joke.
“Mistletoe! Kiss!”
Hyrule and Wild walk arm and arm and pause as they look up. The magpie slips his arm free and grabs Hyrule’s hand. With an exaggerated bow, he flares his wings and presses a kiss to the back of the traveler’s hand.
“Your Highness? Shall we continue?”
Hyrule sticks his nose in the air and swaggers down the hall in…an attempt at nobleness, maybe. “Come, squire, my bath awaits.”
“Squire? Hey, what gives! I should at least be a court jester!”
“I’ll pay you not to sing.”
“Mistletoe! Oh…it’s just you, Time.” Wind’s feathers droop as no one else follows him down the hall.
The kite smiles. “If you came down here I’d have someone to walk with.”
“Oh!”
Wind hops the railing, spreading his wings to soften the landing. Legend would have a fit, but he’s not here.
Time ruffles his hair and then pulls him into a hug, pressing a kiss to his forehead. “Come on, little gremlin.”
He hoists the sailor over his shoulder and is rewarded with screeching and flapping feathers.
Undettered, he continues down the hall.
“Someone put up mistletoe.” Ravio looks up at the bundle of greens, suspended from an empty upper hallway.
Legend would put good rupees on it being one of Chain, or Ravio has a ghost and hasn’t told him yet.
“Do you want…” Ravio trails off as he turns back to find Legend much closer.
The bowerbird reaches out and entwines their fingers on both hands, pulling him close.
“I want you to kiss me.”
The bowerbird trills sweetly back. “I can do that.”

Do yu know what other animals were in ancient egypt? I want my oc to have a unique animal and you seem to know a fair amount
I am a well of ridiculous, hyperspecific, only interesting to some trivia lmao.
I would encourage you not to limit yourself to an entirely unique beast- many deities share sacred animals and are still strong individuals. My mind immediately goes to the huge number of feline deities- lions and lionesses in particular- for an example. Additionally, it's nigh impossible for me (with no academic anthropology/egyptology/historic zoology knowledge) to say for certain that particular animals were present in Kemet when they have no documented deities, mummies, or written mentions. I've had to guess for some, deduce by their present day habitats and more or less "timeline" of their species.
It's also important to keep in mind Kemet had contact with other civilizations in other habitats, meaning they were aware of animals not necessarily native to the area. A perfect example is the Hamadryas baboon- they were Nubian animals, but were sacred to both Thoth and Babi, depicted in art, and many mummies of the species have been recovered. A more surprising example is the Syrian brown bear, which was a rare exotic spectacle for the royal elite. There's also the trouble of many species now being extant from the area, meaning they were there but the local population is now extinct- the African sacred ibis is the example my mind comes to first, the waterfowl no longer present along the Nile.
Coincidentally, I've been compiling a list of animals for my own reference to supply a beast or two for the deities that don't have one in tradition.
