Do you think that in svsss post canon, when bingqiu is in their marital bliss in their bamboo house, Binghe lays awake at night look at the ceiling and remembering all the nights he spend in his side room dreaming of marrying his shizun?
That silly teenage dream that seemed so far and unrealistic, utterly imposible, but he still held it close to his heart, in hope that one day, maybe one day Shizun would allow Binghe to court him. And then The Mess™ of the plot happened and he had no time to think too much about it. Maybe he still thought about it briefly, but not so much while dealing with the prospect of his affections laying death on his bed.
And after all that they just started a relationship, got engaged and had their wedding shortly after that.
And here they are, sharing their marital bed every night, living together, eating together, kissing, cuddling, having nasty loving sex and just existing as husbands. He became Sqq's husband.
I like to imgine Binghe looking at his husband sleeping peacefully next to him, then looking at the ceiling and getting all blushed while raising his fist to the sky while thinking "we did it, little me, we did it!!" And screaming internally like a giddy young girl in love.
Here’s one way I would’ve kickstarted Vlad’s character development:
Say it’s about halfway in the show, maybe still closer to the beginning, Vlad’s a villain but he’s not as evil as he is later on, anyways, he gets the great idea of just…wishing…he was married to Maddie after meeting Desiree
Great! Except, not great, because no matter how the wish pans out (she retroactively married Vlad instead of Jack, she suddenly divorces Jack in present time for Vlad, etc), Vlad realizes this isn’t actually what he wanted, none of the things he fought for are what he wanted, and he spent years chasing these goals
So he un-wishes the wish himself (maybe right after Danny failed to stop him, so Danny’s thinking everything’s lost), he gets everything back to normal, takes a look at his life, and decides to actually chase after things in reality, change his life completely around
(Whether that change is good or even more villainous is up to him)
academic bias is so funny because you’ll be reading about the same historical event and one person is like “Despite the troubles that befell his homeland and near constant criticism of the court King Blorbo remained strong in the face of adversity” and the other one is like “after letting his people carry the brunt of his cringefail decisions Blorbo the Shitface refused to listen to any reason and continued to be a warmongering piece of shit. Also he was ugly.”
