But hero duties are more important than anything" you took another swig "damn this shit is strong!"

He sat there trying to take in everything she had just said. To be fair it was a lot to handle. " Y/n your drunk why are you drinking?"

"Because why the hell not?" She said and laughed

"You want to apologize I want to apologize to face to face."

"Come over them Birdy I need some company I can't finish this big bottle all by myself." At this point you really couldn't think straight. This was 100% a bad idea but did you care? Absolutely not.

You quickly hung up and went to wait for him on the balcony. You sat with your legs crossed and kept drinking. You got up and looked over the ledge. Damn that was a farrr drop. You stumbled a little leaning a little to far, and almost fell until you felt a warm pair of hands wrap around your waist. "Are you fucking crazy kid? Do you have a death wish?"

You started laughing "oh my god I almost fell good thing I have wings. You saved me! Your like my knight in shining armor" you smiled and went to take another swig only to have him take it away from you.

He looked at the bottle. "You drank almost half of this already! Are you crazy? Oh my god come on" he lead you inside trying to figure the layout of your house. He went into your kitchen and got you a water bottle from your fridge.

"Here drink this your gonna need it. Let's go sit down ok?" He lead you to the couch, you almost fell a couple times but with his help you made it.

"Hawksssss"

"Yes angel" he looked over to you, you were both now sitting on the couch, and he was trying to make sure you did nothing stupid.

"Thank you for coming I was sooo lonely. And I'm sorry for this morning I was being a big poopy head" you said and at the end you stuck your bottom lip out and gave him puppy eyes.

"It's no problem angel. I would always help a friend in need more matter what. And you don't have to apologize it was mostly my fault I was being a dumb bird and messed it up." He said looking at you with guilt. You felt bad honestly. But what stuck the most was when he said he would always help a friend..

"I wish we were more then friends I really liek you.." you slurred and went on "your really cute to. And your wings are so pretty I just wanna touch them. Can I touch them?" You asked already reaching out to them

"Of course baby bird just be careful you have wings to so you'll know how it feels." He pulled his wings further out so that you could reach them easily. He was a little scared only a few other people had touched his wings. And they had never been drunk before. His wings were quite sensitive, he was touch starved and that made it feel amazing when someone touched his wings.

You leaned in and touched the middle of his wings first, slowly running your hand over them. You face lit up like a kid opening his presents on Christmas. You raked your hands through his feathers.

"Your feathers are so soft! How do you get them so soft!?" You asked excitedly. Your feathers weren't as soft as his, they'd been through a lot and due to some harsh training were trying to recover still.

"There just n-naturally soft I guess are yours not t-this soft?" He asked as he was trying to keep back his groans. Your fingers felt so good rubbing against his feathers.

"They were but after bad training there not as soft anymore. Want to feel?" She asked excitedly, taking her hands away. He tried to hide his disappointment, and shook his head yes.

she pulled her wings out, giving off a soft glow as her quirk made her. He reached out to his hands. He softly touched the tip of her wings. She sat back and relaxed feeling calm at the touches he was giving her. It was way better then the little kids that tugged on her wings when she had them out.

"What kind of training did this? There still soft just seem like they've been through a lot.."

"Well it was a really rainy day. And they were working me so hard. We were in a empty field and I was paired with one of the higher ranks, so I had to try my hardest. They thought I was weak so they pushed me a little to far, until my wings were covered with mud and all the nasty shit on the ground."

He had a apologetic look on his face as he continued to stroke your wings. "Who's they?"

"I-oh I don't really tell many people but when my parents had found out I had wings, they had to report it to the government, who wanted to put me in intense training from when I was just 4. I knew how to kill someone before I knew how to write my own name correctly. I've heard you went through the same if I'm correct?" Y/n was almost surprisingly sober now.

"Yeah it's not something I like to talk about. I'm sorry they put you through that. Me and you are more alike then we seem arnt we?" He asked while taking his hand away from your wings.

you internally sighed in disappointment when he took his hand away. "I guess we might be. C-can we watch a movie or something?" She asked hoping he would stay just a little longer.

"Only if I can still take you to get ice cream soon?" He asked testing the waters to see if she was still mad.

"Of course you bird brain." She grabbed the remote and turned on {favourite movie}.

"Oh I love this movie!" He said with excitement as he got comfortable next to you.

You smiled looking at him. You were no longer mad but thought if this went on would that happen again? Would he handle it differently? As the thoughts were running through your mind, you felt the heaviness of sleep washing over you. You closed your eyes and let it involve you.

Hawks POV

I turned to check on y/n, and as I turned she was just falling asleep. Her head slowly made its way into my shoulder. I blushed slightly. Y/n was beautiful. Even with her hair a mess she was still pretty to him.

As he was admiring her, she moved in her sleep, grabbing his arm and hugging it as she slept.

Second Time (but not the last)

Hey all! Im on mobile so I can't attach the first one but I've only ever posted like five things on this account so just look back on my posts

I'm so glad ppl liked my last one! Message me if you like this and want more or if you have any suggestions (or if there are any grammatical errors)

Warnings: mild swearing, crying, panic attack sort of

Edward Nygma had never considered himself especially nosey.

Sure, he more often than not found himself on the outside of a conversation than in one, but he didn't consider himself nosey. Antisocially perceptive, an incredibly apt listener, but never nosey. He didn't mind though, sticking his nose into your business.

"So....you and Ed."

She proposed, leaning coyly on the side of your desk- carefully encroaching onto your workload.

"Hm. Wai- what?"

You asked, torn from your diligent trance, your pen still hovering above the paper. Ms.Ham peered at you knowingly, her bright lipstick folding into a perfectly symmetrical smile. Your expression didn't change, and she sighed in impatience.

"Cmon! Arnt you two like....screwing?" She quizzed, lowering her voice in invasive delight as she wiggled her sharp eyebrows. You resisted the urge to laugh, humor overcome with the bizarre nature of that question. Why on earth would she think that? Sure you lingered anxiously behind him, trailed his movements with doe eyes and subdued admiration- but there was nothing beyond your quiet attention that would elude to anything more than that.

"No- we're not screwing. Why would you think that?" You answered, chuckling dismissively as you turned back to your paper, thoughtlessly checking boxes.

"Oh come on! I see you in the restroom after your 'meetings'- fixing your makeup

/catching your breath/ ." She countered, squeezing out her allegations quietly, giddy with the raunchiness of her accusation. You paused, pen halted above the paper. The familiar prick of humiliation kneaded your stomach, a wave of discomfort overcoming you. You usually were able to make certain no one was in the restroom, but when much of the bureaucratic staff had left the precinct you assumed the back restrooms were clear. Collectively you must have spent hours bent over those sinks, sobbing into your elbow, rubbing snot and tears from your face, pressing cold pieces of wet paper towel under your eyes to stop the swelling. How lucky you were that she had only seen the aftermath of a cry in your office, wiping your wet red face, mascara smeared above and below your foggy eyes, shaking with labored breath. You felt your knee jerk beneath your desk, begging to bounce anxiously on the floor. You felt your face become very hot, you didn't want to think about it.

"Ha! No, I uh, I just have terrible allergies in winter. Chills, tears, the whole nine yards!" You answered, crossing your legs hoping to quell your shaking limbs. You looked up from your paper, dropping the pen carefully- feeling your palms sweat with embarrassment. You smiled gingery, searching her face for any sign your facade was working.

"Oh- huh. Yeah Eds kind of a weirdo, I was just gonna say if the two of you were messing around that you should be careful." She cautioned, chuckling dryly to herself. "Odd one like that- there's no telling what he's in to. I bet he likes kicking around his girlfriend befo-"

"Trish- I really have to finish up this work." You interrupted, the need to escape this conversation becoming radically urgent. She smiled, rolling her eyes and nudging your shoulder lovingly. She mumbled something patronizing about work ethic and waltzed out of the room.

Shame coiled in your gut, drowned in the unshakable embarrassment of nearly being caught. For having to almost explain that you were such an incompetent worker that you needed constant reprimand, reprimand that left you in hot ugly fits of sobbing humiliation in the staff bathroom.

For how confusing it was, how tender and persuasive his fingers felt on the small of your back as he passed you in a narrow hall. For his hungry lingering, the predatory silence of his presence behind you when you worked- the fear only a hunter could inflict upon its prey.

You inhaled deeply, aware now that you had been holding your breath. You blinked, a hot tear landing on the back of your hand. You wiped your face quickly, god what a fucking idiot. You really deserved everything he said, you weren't fit to work here. You rolled your eyes, feeling the familiar sting of oncoming tears tickle your eyes. Damn.

Edward was on a deadly power trip. An ego wave he would inevitably crumble beneath, soon to drown in his own festering God complex. James Gordon was in jail, and the heavy paranoia that strained his anxious mind had blossomed into manic euphoria. He could do anything, he could get away with anything. He wasn't worried about Ms.Hams speculation, if anything it exacerbated his obsession.

She must be so embarrassed, and knowing Ham the whole precinct must think she's sleeping around. Can you imagine the rancid things those policemen will say about her?

Goosebumps rose on his scalp, mouth curving into a perfect grin. He could definitely imagine. He nudged his glasses up the bridge of his narrow nose, pushing the handle down to enter your office.

Your knees buckled, sending you upright in a matter of seconds, the familiar sound of the brass handle slamming against a cabinet ripping you from your pitiful slouch.

"Mr.Nygma! Hello- can I help you with something?" You blinked quickly, taking a deep breath through your nose before turning around, smile docile and calm. Your lip twitched, teeth aching to chatter against your clenched jaw- you smiled tighter. He grinned back, taking three careful strides towards you- your legs tensing in the desire to flee.

"Yes actually, two things." He mused, pulling from behind his back a stack of papers, littered with red ink and flagged bits of paper. He looked down at it, shaking his head slowly.

"I can't understand how you thought this was an appropriate final draft for Commissioner Barnes to send out for the Christmas letter, it's littered with grammatical errors and poor phrasing." He scolded, disbelieving amusement soaking his flat tone. His flicked the paper, not seeing you flinch behind the white pages. You held your breath, pleading with your body not to give way to your embarrassment- blinking only when you were absolutely sure you wouldn't cry.

"Thank god I picked it up out of his inbox before he got his hands on it. Barnes may posses even less of a linguistic gene than you...I can imagine without my intervention the entire staff would share my misfortune of reading such a massacre of a Christmas letter." He scoffed, stifling the urge to smile, the hot feeling of sadistic delight boiling in his stomach.

"Secondly-" He began, flipping the papers down to deliver the most anticipated part of his ridicule. He looked over your face, anticipating the coming expressions. Your eyelashes clung together with moisture, exaggerating their dark sheen- pushing forward the vibrant colors of your reddening eyes. He was without speech for a moment- confused as to how he had already elicited such a response. Unless-

"Ms.L/N have you been crying?" He quizzed, the careless monotone he had struggled to sustain lost in his confusion. You felt the hot tentacles of shame wrap around your stomach, pushing out the anxious breath you had held so tightly. You shook your head quickly, hands loosening from fists into frantic shapes in front of your chest- pulling on your fingers in a nervous panic.

"No- No I just-"

"Who made you cry?" He barked, discarding the papers onto the desk behind you, the adrenaline of his expecting pleasure twisting into rage. Who on earth had made you cry? It couldn't have been Ms.Ham..or perhaps what she had said to you about how you worked too much? Maybe one of the policemen? He was infuriated, some strange deformation of jealousy straining his mind to decipher who had stolen from him the joy of being the only person to cause you such damage. You struggled to breathe, afraid any allowance of air would turn into a sob the moment it left your lips.

"No one, no one made me cry. I just-" you began, fingers twisting and grabbing at the front of your shirt thoughtlessly. You felt your stomach heave in protest, body aching to curl up and die. You wanted more than anything to run out of the room and under your covers to never return to the outside world.

"I'm just concerned that I'm not- not doing a very good job. I like this job v-very- I like this job very much and I would really like to get a good reference. And I feel like you're very dis-dissatisfied with my work. I want to be a good employee and I feel I'm not living up to your standards." You spat, vision twisting and blurring in wet heavy embarrassment. This was a nightmare. You couldn't keep yourself together, words tripping over the next, chest rising and falling so rapidly you thought for sure your heart was stopping and restarting. You couldn't bring yourself to look at him, your teeth began to chatter and your palms began to sweat.

"I'm sorry it just all got the best of me- I promise not to let it-" But Edward was no longer listening. It would be a disservice to himself to distract from the display- eyes darting anxiously away from him, the muscles in your arms and legs tensing and releasing in tantalizing tremors. He was engulfed in the sight- how had he survived so long without witnessing it? Your hand shot up, shaking terribly as it wiped a tear from your red cheek- bringing his gaze back to your face. Instinctually, like a lunging animal, his hand was around your wrist. He reached out, desperate to feel the sticky heat of your tear laden cheek as he leaned in further. The narrow end of his nose brushed yours, your lamenting words seeming immediately less important than the feeling of his slow breath on your Cupid's bow. It was silent as your lips met, your weeping hiccups quelling into a blissful lack of. Your stammering heart stopped, and the desire to curl up and fall away turned to the irresistible urge to curl up into the shallows of his welcoming chest and fall away there. Your reciprocation was timid, lips trembling against his strong guiding mouth as you placed a fearful hand on his chest. His thumb lay gently on your jaw, the tips of his fingers lost in the fine hairs of your neck, the pressure just strong enough to communicate a strange urgency. He parted slowly, leaving room for you to realize you had not yet caught your breath.

"Edward-" you began, voice hoarse and ginger as his hand loosened from your wrist and returned to his side. He could feel your pulse in his fingertips against your neck, feeling his own slow rhythm in contrast to your erratic pulsation.

"Mr. Nygma." He corrected. "Ms.L/N-" He began, his voice rolling up from his chest in a low growl.

"Who made you cry?" He repeated, eyes dark and empty, fingers pressing tighter into the side of your face.

"You did, Mr. Nygma." You whispered, eyes drawn down towards his chest in returning embarrassment.

"Good answer."

Hi all, I was hoping that I could get some guidance as to how I should proceed with this. Thank you in advance. The accident occurred 7 days ago in CA. I was driving home from work in the 4th lane of a 4 lane highway. There was a gap of approximately 4~5 cars in the 3rd lane, so I switched into that lane. By the time I finished the lane change, there was approximately 3~4 cars distance between me and the car behind me. I then drove for approximately a 100 yards, at which point the traffic suddenly slowed and I decelerated. The guy behind me, however, seems to have been looking elsewhere and rear ended me. However, before he collided, he managed to swerve his car and hit the corner of my rear bumper with the corner of his front bumper. We pulled over to the side of the road and exchanged information. It turns out that he does not have a driver's license (or any California/U.S. ID; he showed me a Mexican ID). He begged me not to call the police, admitted fault and said that he would settle it through his insurance (he is insured with a VERY shady place called Access General). I took pity on him, especially since it was very likely that he is an illegal immigrant, so I just took his information down and moved along. Fast forward a few days, and I find out that he has told his insurance that I cut in front of him and that he is not at fault. Since there are no witnesses or a police report, his insurance takes his side. Meanwhile, since I only have liability with Geico, they are saying that they can't help me. The damage to my car is between $4~5k, and that is not even taking into account devaluation of the car's value. Willow Gone

A drabble from Willow’s best friend, Eryk’s, point of view. It’s long, I’m sorry. These are the texts pertaining to this.

“Errie, how about today?”

Eryk is lain across their bed, staring at the prune colored ceiling for the five-millionth morning in a row -- or so it feels. Little appears to be able to rouse them from their state.

Their mother, aquamarine with cavernous holes littering her face -- a Meldonian -- stands at the doorway. Her tight, bright green hair curls with the consistency of seaweed fall from the crown of her head. They are the same curls that pull at Eryk’s own blue head. Her mouth is nothing but a large slit in the center of her face, but Eryk can understand both her question and the implications deep beyond it.

They do not answer. Normally, Eryk’s love for their mother overrides all else, but now their love for someone else holds them, like chains, in their bed.

“We love you, Errie,” she says, for the five-millionth morning in a row, circular fins with holes reaching towards them. Her voice always sounds as if it comes from deep underwater. “Whenever you're ready, you know. Seconds will wait for you.” She touches them, once, on the leg, then retreats. The door clicks behind her gently.

Eryk closes their eyes and sees her. Not the mother they love -- their best friend. Dark curls, murky eyes, bright purple skin -- one of many things she was mocked for. Willow sky. She was their best friend, from the moment they met to the moment their mother told them she was gone.

In a flash, Eryk can see their entire friendship. The moment she, in a flurry of curls and laughs, sat down next to them during lunch, introducing herself though uninvited. Trekking the mountains of Amyr, them wheezing and her laughing. Her splashing purple water at them and sticking out her tongue when they protested. Her hanging upside down in their hiding place, the storage unit, singing out of tune and changing the lyrics to fit her mood. The last time they saw her -- late at night, under the velvet sky, with stars sprinkling above them, her winking playfully at their gaze.

Their eyes shut tightly at the images. Each memory is another chain that drags them down to their bed, leading with the terrifying crash of the moment Eryk woke up and saw their mother there. Their mother had never been allowed for extended stay upon planet -- Amyr rules -- and instantly, Eryk had felt sick.

Dad’s dead, was Eryk’s first thought. I did something wrong. I failed my tests for Seconds. Mother is dying.

But they had never expected the words that had come from their mother’s mouth, starting simply and gently.

“Errie… when was the last time you saw Willow?”

She was gone.

Eryk presses their hands against their eyelids. Why hadn’t they told anyone when they saw the bruises on Willow’s skin? Why hadn’t they reported their fear for her life? Why didn’t they try harder? What if she were dead, as dead as her mother must be? And the most terrifying thought of all: What if she went off to Travel?

She wouldn’t be able to survive. Not for a minute. Willow would have no idea what she’s doing. Though all evidence leads to her being upon another planet -- the loss of her mother’s tokens -- Eryk has been stubbornly refusing to believe it.

Even with the possibility of her escaping with Tallow -- what her father currently believes -- Tallow can not care for Willow. What if he abandons her? What if he hurts her? What if she feels trapped?

These thoughts have been circling in Eryk’s head for the eons it feels she’s been gone, but they haven’t abated, yet. Every day, Eryk wakes up to hear them repeat in perfect clarity.

They’re sure they’re going insane.

Eryk’s communicator chirps next to them. They never get messages. Curiosity wins over depression for the moment. They reach up, grabbing it off of the ivory table, and flip out the keyboard, making the screen light up.

the will of the sky. (in range) 1 NEW MESSAGE.

Eryk cannot stop the tears that immediately pour through their eyes as they select the message, quickly, shakily. They have always had what Willow called bleeding eyes, but they were sure the Terran expression was bleeding heart. And now, they are choking on it.

It is a message from Willow.

The words are so uniquely Willow -- down to the very last mark (or lack thereof) that Eryk begins sobbing harder.

In a perfect world, they’d take time to control themselves. They’d wait until the feelings abated and let them breathe to reply. But they have not seen the words “in range” next to Willow’s name for a long time, so long they are afraid if they don’t reply immediately, she will disappear.

Fuck you

It’s all they can think to say.

The response is so fast.

Eryk is attempting to type a response, when another of Willow’s comes.

Willow never left spell check on. Most Amyra didn’t. It came with switching languages -- it was easier to just type without having to change languages each time they wished to.

Eryk closes their eyes, pushes their head towards the screen. Willow hardly types as… seriously… as her last message was.

Eryk stares at the small, purple picture of Willow next to each message -- heart-shaped sunglasses, smiling at someone off-camera. Eryk took that picture for her. Eryk can still taste the air from that day, can still feel the grass beneath them. Of course, she’d taken the picture of the smoke that Eryk had always used as their picture. How many times had Eryk seen a message from Willow? Thousands. Millions. Almost constantly. Willow almost never stopped texting. But this message... these words... had such a new weight to them.

They hardly think as they reply.

Where are you

Because, of course, Eryk has to come get them. They’re already thinking to ask if they can borrow their mother’s ship when Willow replies, lightning fast as ever.

Just like you didnt tell me you were leaving, Eryk’s hands answer for them. They almost put a question mark -- they normally don’t because they feel it leaves the statement too hard -- but they choose not to in the last instance.

Maybe I dont Willow, they reply. After hitting send, they add on in a new message, If you wanted to run away with someone you were dating, thats fine but you still could have told me first.

Eryk locks the screen, sits up in finality after the period. They brush their hands at their face when another message lights up.

It feels right, now, to be angry. Eryk hasn’t been angry this entire time. Only scared -- only sad. This feels right.

At least there is some relief. Willow is not dating Tallow. Hopefully, he is not treating her the way others have treated her here.

She means ‘rat me out’. Eryk feels more tears coming at just reading the words. They are trying to hold on to the good things: she’s alive. Tallow hasn’t abandoned her. She might be okay. They are trying not to think how far away she could still be -- trying not to wonder how close she may be to them for the first time in forever.

But when minutes pass and they get no response, they let out a breath of air and say, Are you happy

Her grammar improved. That means she had to think deeply about that reply. Eryk hesitates. Maybe she truly needs their help?

I guess that is what I mean, they try. They don’t know what to say -- she said it was better than on Amyr. Better than when she was with Eryk. Better than when they were close.

A long pause. Eryk doesn’t know what to say, but, as always, is saved by Willow.

They release a soft breath at the emotion -- runs their fingers over the image. If they had more Amyra in them, maybe they’d be blinking in and out from the intense feelings. They close their eyes and pray -- though praying was never something they did before Willow disappeared. Now, however, it seems to highlight their life. Almost every moment is spent in it. Willow believes so avidly in the sky -- it has to save her, doesn’t it?

Their phone chirps, calling them back.

They will promise anything, now. Tears rolling down their face -- choking on them -- the volume of their sobs rising so much they hear their mother swaying up the stairs, coming to check on them.

“Willow!” They’re screaming at their phone, shaking it. “Willow!”

Their fingers shake as the letters light up on the screen.

And then the dreaded three words light up next to Willow’s name -- out of range -- and Eryk collapses as their mother throws open the door and wraps her arms around them.
