hey gang!
i've been thinking, and i think it's about time i take a tiny, teeny lil hiatus. just wanted to let you know i'll be gone for a lil while (hopefully a week+ depending on how it goes). this is NOT because of any of you - in fact i am going to miss you all dearly. just think i need a bit of a mental health reset luvs.
i will have my queue running - i've upped the time and number of posts as well so it will run throughout my normal hours here - and i have content (incorrect tweets, some video edits, gifsets, etc.) lined up until. like may so don't worry about that snkjfk (i won't be gone for that long prommy i just do a lot of content prep). i'll also be watching smosh every day as per usual, and still working on stuff while im gone!! i think this'll be a really great opportunity to get some work done - i have so many fics and passion projects lined up that im really excited about, so hopefully i'll get to finish those in the meantime and i may be back to post them <3 at the very least i'll be back by valentines day for the smoshblr exchange!!
i won't be checking my notifs, the smosh tag, or anything like that. if you want me to see smth in the meantime, hit me with a tag or a dm and i promise i'll see it when i get back. my askbox is still open but i'm afraid i probably won't be answering anything for the time being. if you're an anon who sends me asks - please please please keep sending them to me. truly you have no idea how much i enjoy our silly lil daily chats, they mean the world to me. i will be back to answer them as soon as i feel like im ready <3 and as for dms, i will answer them once i come back, but if you wanna talk to me urgently, i have discord/snapchat/whatsapp/etc where you can find me if you want to hmu for those <3 even if we've never spoken before!! i don't bite and i love friends prommy. i'll def be around for the rest of the day if you want to get my info!
like i said, i'll be around if anyone has any burning questions or wants to chat. i love you all, keep going strong, and be good while i'm gone. in my honor, please follow my golden rules: be kind to one another, make lots of silly goofy content, and, most importantly, do whatever you want forever. love ya! :)

Simblr Gratitude Day! Another one of my favorite blogs on Simblr. I enjoy your blog so much. Thanks to you I found a lot of worlds I didn't know were out there. Your screenshots are inspiring and stunning. Your builds are amazing and I absolutely love the aesthetic. Keep up the good work and take care! 🙏🏼😊
This was such a sweet message, thank you very much! <3 I also saw that you sent lots of sweet messages to other folks on my dash, so you are super-sweet! <3 <3
And with that said…. *sigh* I kind of missed out on Simblr Gratitude Day. I had planned to do something a bit more elaborate, but the decision to escape my cage and go to the zoo for the day yesterday for my mental health (and yes, it helped) kind of messed that up because I'm just completely worn out today. LOL So, I'm left with offering a generic thank you to everyone, including, but not limited to:
All of my mutuals, who are so fun to talk to if they're the type to yak. (And it's OK if you aren't, too; I totally get it.)
All of the folks out there who make CC and mods and worlds and everything, whether you do it a lot or a little, whether you make stuff that I've downloaded or not, you're all awesome. Without y'all, I don't think Sims 3 would have much of a community anymore, given that it's the least-popular game out of the franchise. (Well, OK, maybe that's the original The Sims, now, but you know what I mean. LOL ) People's creations keep the red-haired stepchild of the franchise alive.
All of the storytellers whose posts I so enjoy, whether you're one that I follow who gets lots of notes on every post or just a few. Even if I don't always say anything and/or when I'm forced to take a hiatus and I fall behind on everything such that I don't know that I'll ever catch up, I love you all, and I appreciate the effort you go to to create and share your stories. Truly, y'all give me reason to keep checking Ye Olde Hellsite, just because I want to see what happens. And, of late, that means that you all give me a reason to get my ass out of bed/off the couch, and give me something to focus on instead of gnawing claustrophobic anxiety. I can't thank you enough for that.
All of you lovely folks who've decided to follow me and/or who've left a like on or reblogged any of my posts. We all say we "do this for ourselves," and that should ideally be true, but we all also know that validation and appreciation is a wonderful feeling. So thank you to all of you who've made me feel valid. I appreciate it.
Really, we have a great little community. Here's hoping we keep being awesome and excellent to each other. <3

I'm having a writer-feels-like-crap moment and just needed to put this out there somehow. It's personal and it doesn't make sense, it's just a head fart. If I had a comment for each message I receive about updates I might actually write more. 🥲
I have no problem being asked about updates. I know some folks don't like that type of ask, and I totally respect that, but it's never been the case with me, I appreciate the interest. Please don't think that this is a rant against people who ask for updates, because it's not. There's nothing wrong with that, at least not for me. However.
I get so many asks about updates. Some anonymous, some not. Some I reply to, some I don't. And that's all fine, it's (mostly) good-natured, there's no harm in it. But I have to wonder where do people go after I post the updates? How come I only get comments/messages about the next update, but never a comment about how they read and if they enjoyed the chapter? How is it that people think it's really helpful to only ever ask for updates but not to leave a tiny simple comment to let the person writing know they've read the actual update when it comes into being?
This is about exchange, right? If you want writers to feed you, then you should feed the writers back. If the writing sucks, if it's not worth anybody's time to read and comment, then that's fine, you don't have to comment on things you hate, in fact you SHOULDN'T. But if you do like it and you still won't comment, that's how it translates to me. I just think everyone hated it. Because I get so many asks about updates, and then when I do post updates, people either don't read, or read and then never say anything about it. To me, that says they hated it, and the sense of excitement I had upon posting dies almost instantly.
I've written three different things this month to see if any of them would stick and make me want to write some more, and even though I had some really nice, really sweet responses to some of those that I cherish so much and have gone back to read again, nothing worked. That's not to say that I won't write anymore, but it's been really hard to push through my writer's block. Every time I sit down to write, I gravitate towards the things that I'm writing for myself and that are probably never going to see the light of day, because those are the ones that I don't care about the feedback, it's just for me. But then I keep getting the asks about updates on my WIPs and I honestly don't even know if the people asking for updates have read the latest chapter. Did you enjoy it? Was it good? Is there anything you're looking forward to? I don't know.
I haven't replied to a couple yet because I don't know what to say anymore. Sorry, no updates, I feel like the worst piece of shit writer there's ever existed and don't really feel like inflicting that upon the world anymore? Cause that's really where I'm at.
I've seen countless posts going around about how commenting/rebloging has been slowly dying because the newer generations have a thing where they think it's weird to comment/reblog days/weeks after stuff has been posted. Some lingering effects of tiktok and instagram culture and people thinking that it's somehow stalkerish or something. I promise you, it is not. You can leave comments on stories posted 20 years ago on livejournal. You can reblog posts from 2014. There's nothing wrong with that. There is NOTHING better for a writer to have someone suddenly going through their entire catalogue of fics and commenting on all of them, or reading through a long story and leaving their impressions as they go, even if it's a single line of comment to say 'hey, just found this, it's great'.
I have in the past left comments on stories that had been on hiatus for YEARS, with no expectations whatsoever, and suddenly the stories came back to life because my comments somehow made a difference. I have never been happier, both because I got to see something I loved being finished and because I may have given someone the tiny little push they needed in order to get back on their writing horse. There are days when I wish for nothing more than that, but I'm an old fandom person whose old fandom friends have almost all left fandom and I'm just here typing to myself, talking to myself and getting very little feedback. (Positive feedback, mind you. The people who hate my things are not shy about letting me know their feelings.)
I don't even know anymore. I've just been feeling very discouraged overall and I honestly don't know what else to do. Maybe this is an end of the year type of blues or whatever, but it is what it is. Updates will come when they come, I guess.
But anyway, to readers out there, doesn't matter if you read my fics or not: if there's anything you enjoy out there, any fics you're following, any stories you'd like some writer to see through to the end, or any writer you wish would post more of their stuff, just remember that the only way they'll ever know there's people out there expecting to see more from them is if you tell them, and the best way to do that is to comment on their stories. It fills writers with anticipation and confidence. Trust me, it works like magic.

hi hi! first of all I want to state how much I adore your IF so far, I haven't found many IF that are purely slice of life and I am loving it ❤️ 😍 💖 second! do you have any recommendations for IFs? I've just started moving away from the CoG forums and the content here on tumblr is just 🤌 but I'm not too sure where to start? tysm 😊
I mean, I have so many recommendations tbqh. It's a hell of a list and hopefully, I haven't forgotten anyone by the end. I would say that if you've been around for a hot minute you probably know most of these but I'm old and rarely see new stuff atm because I'm a busy bean so...
Recs under the cut;
@northern-passage is such an easy recommendation for me. I'm not super into your more 'classic' fantasy as a genre but Kit has really built up their characters to be something special. The concept of the hunter is a great one and the branching Kit does is insane. I'm so interested to see where it goes and also ready for it to destroy me emotionally.
I haven't played @speakergame in a little while but the cosy vibes I try to get into YLAF are also here. It's not slice of life but it's similar to that with a heap of supernatural stirred in. I'm also excited for @partiallystarsif, which promises to be a game that I've been wishing someone would write.
Project Hadea by @nyehilismwriting is one of the most top tier sci-fi I've read in a while. It has a great MC, a badass partner in Nash and also BUGS. Again, I'm super looking forward to seeing what happens in the next chapter after that cliffhanger. Shit is about to hit the fan and I am here for it.
@if-eventhorizon is written by actual love of my life Brigid. Event Horizon is your pretty typical crew in space doing stuff they shouldn't be kind of sci-fi and I adore it! Can't wait to find out what everyone has done in their past to be there and unravel the situation. Love it! Brigid is also an incredibly talented artist, also writes @if-closedloop and...
@if-lostbirds is again written by Brigid, and although they profess post-apocalyptic Western sci-fi to be niche, I whole heartedly disagree. I adore the writing in this one, they really did something there and I think everyone will get something out of this one. If you're looking for something a little different with fewer (but super meaningful) choices then this is for you! Also I did convince them to put the big worm back into it so... worm.
For someone who would say she doesn't like a western, @larkin-if is also a bit of me. It's got vampires and cool character dynamics between the Preacher (MC) and their father figure Wyatt. Not to mention the ROs are all really cool. I'm excited to meet Ace in the future but it's the whole plot of attempting to hide your true identity that really hooked me in.
@bodycountgame is currently on a little bit of a hiatus because Nell is super busy with real life 😷 but it's still a stand out fave for me, undoubtedly worth the wait. If you want something that's campy, written in proper British dialect and is basically love island with a hell of a twist then this is for you! I can't recommend body count enough, it's what got me moved way from CoG games and into this little community we have!
@thistooshallpass-if is an IF with some of my favourite characters (not hurt by the fact that thyme is also one of my fave people!) I can't wait to see where it goes as I've been promised angst and knowing them I have no doubt! I'm also mega excited for @writingnights because different takes on supernatural creatures is always fun to me.
When Twilight Strikes by @evertidings is popular for a reason. I'm a few chapters behind but just writing about it has made me want to sit down and catch up! Kristi's characters are fun and feel like people to me with their real quirks, which is always something I enjoy. I can't wait to solve the mystery with this one.
@attollogame is a pretty hard one to describe to me so I'd say just play it? The writing and lore surrounding it is so so solid. It's all pretty much just a vibe, and a good one at that. I am not up to date at all but everyone should be better than me and read it!
Golden by @milaswriting is amazing! It's a supernatural romance game and you can just tell that Mila cares so much about the characters she writes, it really comes through in her writing. She's also over at @milaswrittenworld and I'd encourage a follow all around because she is just a really lovely gem of a person.
I haven't read @ofna in a little while but I absolutely adored what I did read (god knows how many updates ago it was). The writing is amazing and, again, I can't wait to get to solve the mystery 👀
I've undoubtedly forgotten so many but these are ones that come to my covid addled mind 😅 I hope this is a good starting place for you, anon 💛

I have enjoyed this series SO much. It really shows how much work and love you've put into it and how much it means to you; I'll absolutely keep following it along through its completion. I look forward to its return in any form!
With that said, here's a proposal for you (and this is not me trying to sway what you decide; it's simply an idea I had after reading your post): since you DO enjoy the asking interactions, you could always continue doing that (obviously much less often so you're not burning yourself out) in the form of an OOC accompaniment to the fics! And by that, I mean, people could ask you or the characters about their thoughts on specific (non spoiler) things happening in the plot that wouldn't be actually happening in the fic itself. That would both let you continue to do some of the answering asks, AND it would mean you would need to do a lot less of it since you can progress the plot and provide answers to spoiler related asks at your leisure with writing, which wouldn't depend on the ask feature itself since it's already a planned part of the story.
P.S: I hope your winter break and next semester go great!
I'm glad you've liked it so much!! It's funny, this blog was originally meant to be a much smaller project that'd just give me something to do when I was bored, but now it's really grown into something I love working on just for the sake of creating! its such a weird mix of personal-to-me and just fucking around and its so so fun even if I have to change it up a lot!
that's a pretty cool idea, and I have seen others do it before, but sadly i don't really think it's very feasible at the moment :( ask culture itself has honestly been suffering a Ton on tumblr lately already, which was a big reason I stopped enjoying the ask blog format in the first place. But even besides that, there are. a LOT of things that happen in this story!!! And I know myself well enough to know that I would Not be satisfied by using character portraits that don't match the setting of whatever update they're commenting on. Meaning, I would likely end up putting in the work to draw a bunch of stuff anyway.
I'm trying to get this final event set up in time for me to get a large portion of it finished before I go back to school, because I know that once I get into the meat of the semester and living with roommates again I won't have nearly as much time or energy to put into answering asks in-character. It is very difficult to be constantly drawing the same character in 532 different outfits when your roommate is constantly sitting directly behind you !!!!! (and also i'll have homework and classes taking up my time too i guess)
So as sad as I am about it, once this event is wrapped up I really do think it'll be time I'll have to let the ask blog format go. I've been thinking on it for a really long time, honestly I think right after I posted that very last comic update, even before I went on hiatus, a part of me knew that I just couldn't keep doing this.
But I still love remembering it for what it was! That's the entire reason I'm setting up a send-off event in the first place, so we can have one last taste of that fun that comes with working on a story with other people! I'll admit I'm a little scared, but hopefully it'll be a blast!!!!

Honestly, byler to me has become a stressful 'thing' now i cannot even enjoy it due to the whole discourse and drama surrounding it lol. Also it feels like the shipping culture kinda died because people just stopped shipping things for fun but it became a match where you have to prove your ship's 'validity' 'morality' or how it actually exists in canon and it should exist in canon (for this and that reason), and you have to constantly prove yourself that you are a master analysist and you Get The Narrative and that's why you ship this ship and if it doesnt become canon then it means the writing is dumb/poor and im like..? You dont really have to do all that and i get that sometimes feeling so passionately about shipping is natural part of fandom and i have been there and done that too, but this whole narrative and mindset surronding it is just really tiring. if a ship makes you this stressed and traumatized and if it happens you say stuff like 'imma kms' maybe just kinda take a step back idk. I ship ron/nce and i adore their dynamic, but i am well aware that it is not going to happen even if i see a certain level of dynamic between nancy and robin. and i get that it is different for will since will is canonically into mike now but the overall point still stands. you can still like a ship even if it doesnt become canon you dont have to try so hard to prove its existence or validity since the shipping is usually supposed to be... fun.
Anon, I'm convinced I somehow sent this to myself because I'm exactly the same. I get being critical of the show's queer rep and plot if Byler isn't canon or being disappointed which we saw a lot of post volume 2, but yeah. Being a Byler shipper has become not fun™ and it's become a requirement that you think it's going to be endgame in order for you to ship it. And I also think the sense of superiority a lot of Byler shippers have about being great critical thinkers or having media literacy can make it feel scary to ever question anything anyone ever says, although most people were actually quite supportive when I spoke about this. All of that to say, letting go of Byler endgame before S4 has been great for me; I love analysing and theorising about Byler without the pressure of needing it to be canon.
And I know people will read this as "you shouldn't be bothered by the show using Will" but what I and I believe the anon is trying to say is that fandom should be built off of fun and wanting your ship to have content because you enjoy it, not because you're terrified it's not gonna be canon. Easier said than done, but I think you need to take care of yourself and your mental health too. I'm not famous or anything but I have quite a few followers now and I'm not going to lie or guarantee 100000% that it will be canon because I just do not know and I genuinely think people's mental health will be damaged because they've been hyping up an expectation of ST5 for years.
If shipping Byler has become too stressful for you, try take a break for a bit (I've been posting less over the last few months partially because of this too). Especially since we all have hiatus brain where expectations and theories become more and more wild because we have to keep digging deeper into the same content. I'm so scared that S5 will come out and it doesn't happen because I like a lot of people in this fan community and if Byler isn't canon, we'll get angry posts for a couple of months and maybe some theories about interference or deleted scenes (this happen post S4 a bit as well) but then it's gone ): the community revolves more about being 100% sure Byler will happen instead of enjoying the pairing of Mike and Will so without canon Byler, I don't know what will remain.
Thanks for the ask, anon. Also Ronance forever! <3

J & I for the fanfic asks
Thanks for the ask!
J:  What’s your favorite fanfic trope?  Have you written it?
This is one of those things that I'm terrible at remembering on the fly, so this is less of a favorite and more a trope that I just know I enjoy and can think of right now. I really enjoy any variation on the friends-with-benefits setup. I like when it ends well (whether they get together romantically or stop sleeping together or keep what they have going), and I like when it ends badly, and I just enjoy the whole spectrum of works in between.
I'm not sure I've written friends-with-benefits exactly, but I think I have written stories where sex happens between people who aren't romantically interested in each other (or aren't romantically interested yet, in some cases). (The non-angsty version, I mean--I've definitely written the angsty or dysfunctional version of that, but I'm pretty sure I've written the non-angsty version at some point.)
I: How many fandoms have you written in? Do you have a favorite?
I'm gonna say ~25, give or take a fandom or two (not all posted and not all fandoms I participated in/read fic for, just fandoms I've written for). I've been writing for, like, twenty years, and I've been writing fanfic for most of that time. I'd say I've written significant amounts of fic for maybe 7 of those (if I'm counting shared universes as 1 fandom).
I have a soft spot for MCU because it got me back into writing after a hiatus, and you could just, like… write anything there. Basically limitless, in terms of creative potential, and you really didn't have to explain much or give much set-up unless you wanted to (though sometimes the set-up was part of the fun). You could really hit the ground running. So it was a great way to write just balls-to-the-wall bizarre porn and crack treated seriously, but just the sheer variety of ideas was a lot of fun. Also, I just really love Steve Rogers a lot. (I chronically fall in love with the characters commonly described as boring.)
But I'm really getting a chance to explore some stuff that I've wanted to for a while, here in the ST fandom (like the complex family dynamics that I really sink my teeth into and slightly more grounded sci-fi, silly as that sounds). And I've talked to way, way more people here than I have in any other fandom, so it's definitely been interesting so far.

Thanks for answering my ask......If you don't mind me asking (again), what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
lol hello again, ty for asking me this! I promise I'll give you more than 7 answers this time lol
Tian Guan Ci Fu/tgcf (book series, donghua) - I stumbled upon this randomly back in 2021 through its brand new donghua and I've loved it ever since. I adore the characters and the plot is both extremely complex and absolutely wild. it's roughly 750,000 words but I was able to read it in a week despite having school because I was so invested in it!
Moriarty the Patriot/mtp (manga, anime)- I think this is funny bc I tried watching bbc sherlock once and did NOT like it, so I just thought I wasn't into the sherlock holmes stuff. WRONG! I just had to discover this. I call this the "best sherlock holmes adaptation" for a reason (check my current pinned post, you'll find many reasons why I love mtp; I don't want to sound like a broken record so I don't plan to repeat them). I can't wait for when (or if) the manga comes out of its break/hiatus
Good Omens (book, show) - both the book and the miniseries/show are so near and dear to my heart. I always have a soft spot for watching supernatural entities fall in love (with each other and) the world around them. also, it's funny as hell
Promare (movie) - goooood I love Promare it's so neat; love the colors and the shapes and the plot is fun despite its simplicity. I could rewatch this movie every day for a month straight and not get tired of it
Arc of a Scythe trilogy (book series) - this is not something I've talked about a love, but this is one of my favorite book series! found it back around the same time I did tgcf; it's fucking insane I loooove the worldbuilding and the main cast, and by the second book every other page was like a plot twist gutting me in the best way possible; it's made me ponder about life and death on more than one occasion too
Matched trilogy (book series) - I started reading this in either 5th/6th grade but didn't really get it so I kinda forgot about it until around 2021-2022 (what? I actually had time to READ that year!) and managed to reread it and it was like a third eye opened. I really enjoyed the mystery unfolding in the trilogy! it's pretty cool imo, even tho I think (?) it was meant for teenagers to read
Not So Shoujo Love Story (webcomic) - this webcomic is so fucking funny AND it's wlw! I've been a fan for years it's so good
Bee and Puppycat/Bee and Puppycat: Lazy in Space (show) - a comfort show of mine (one of many); I'm in love with the atmosphere of the show and how awkwardly real the dialogue tends to be (plus I've been slowly rewatching it with my gf with is always a plus <3); I love both the og and its "reboot" equally, and would recommend people watch both
Snow White with the Red Hair (anime) - I haven't read the manga for this one, but I've seen the anime and it's another comfort show of mine. It's so sweet and cozy and the entire cast is lovable; even the "bad guy" in the first season is someone you grow to root for by the end of the second season. it's great!
Supernatural (show) - even tho I haven't finished the show and idk when/if I ever will, I still consider it a favorite media of mine. not bc I think it's great (it's good in most places, lacking in other), but bc I pretty much grew up with it. I have a core memory of watching the first handful of episodes when I was younger with my dad on the couch with the first time and being hooked on this strange show about supernatural creatures (I was that kid that enjoyed the supernatural! I read ghost story books, I binged every Goosebumps book I could get my hands on in fourth grade, I had a creepypasta phase, etc); even now in 2024 I've been sitting down with my dad to rewatch it with him before I go back to my college dorm and start back up classes. it's less so one of my favorite medias because I think it's good but because I associate it with my family <3

Writing Questions Tag Game:
Thanks for tagging me @residentdormouse ♥
Tumblr media
What is your absolute all-time favorite idea you’ve ever had?
Um, so the two favourite ideas of mine are not things I can link you to because the first one, which is a faerie story about (among other characters) the fae prince of Winter, is a story I'm writing (I guess it's on hiatus) with my irl bff and it's not finished or available to the public. I don't know how much I should share tbh, but I love all the characters and the world we've built so much.
The other is just my special daydream OC character whose story I will never actually write because it's a mashup of various fandom lores and very complicated and while fun to daydream doesn't sound fun to write. She's a priestess who gets murdered on the altar of her world's gods by her bff and they revive her to kill him (he was a priest who took the power of the gods and then proceeded to basically demolish the world around him). She does so, but is essentially left alone in her world and becomes a guardian of sorts. Her role is to link herself to one person (anchor) in every one of the worlds/dimensions/realities that the collection of souls her gods watch over reincarnate into. She can call on power from the other realities to protect them from outside threats (basically, if the gods were creator beings, there are destroyer beings who want to devour the souls/realities). She ends up being kind of a tragic character though, since she's stuck between a bunch of "lives" so to speak and beholden to different people in different worlds but never able to settle down and be done. She keeps getting revived by the gods when she dies (with all her memories, instead of reincarnating), and she struggles with grief. Why is this my favourite idea? IDK but I keep thinking about it.
Is there a question you’ve been asked in the past that really stands out to you and you still think about sometimes?
Well one time someone on anon complained that I wrote a self-indulgent mary sue oc into my fanfic and asked "who asked for [that]". To which I replied that I did. Because, you know, I write shit for myself first. As a fun hobby. I'm in no way saying that I write anything great, and if you think my writing is cringe, like, okay, you're right? Die mad about it, I guess? Get a life? Idk. I'm just having fun playing pretend with these fictional worlds.
What is your favorite part of being a writer?
Re-reading finished things because I write the type of stories I like to read, so it's really satisfying to get to reread them later. Close second is when someone else likes what I've written, that's pretty cool. ♥
What parts could you take or leave?
The agony of the time between posting something online and that first bit of feedback on it. Now that I actually have people looking at my stuff there's a little bit of like "well I hope at least one person does end up reading and enjoying this" and like... if not then it feels like why bother posting it online? (Honestly I started posting my BWOC fic in 2013 just so my irl bff could read it. I started posting my newer fics on tumblr in 2021 just so I'd move on and finish the missing parts of the story I had been writing... which hasn't worked, in case anyone wondered haha.)
What is your greatest motivation to write/create?
I am constantly coming up with stories in my head. There's something about writing them down and crafting them into something I can read again later that lets me put them down, if that makes sense. Like a brain dump. I don't need to remember just how that scene went or why that was happening in this plot, because it's written down now. I can revisit it later if I like. Or never.
Second-biggest motivation is when I'm writing a fic with someone else in mind, like a request or gift, or for an event, or just something I know that one person in particular will like. In the hopes I contribute something good to their day. (Even if it's smut.)
What do you wish you knew when you were first starting out writing?
I've honestly been writing since I was a child, so I wish I could tell you. XD
What I would say to someone new to writing is this: You get better at every skill by doing it. So, if you want to write, you're better off writing a ton of stories, badly at first and reworking, refining, revising, etc. than to wait until you're "good enough" to write the story you want to write. You can always write a version two or twenty-five, months or years later. Done is better than perfect, and shitty-first-drafts are better than forgotten ideas.
What is your favorite story you’ve written TO COMPLETION? Link it if you’d like and can!
Probably Homecoming, a smut-fic for Bofur in the Durin's Garage AU. Mostly because I haven't written most of my stories to completion, but also I love that fic.
What is your favorite out-of-the-box quote?
"If anyone can do it, so can you."
Which of your characters would you say has the most controversial mindset? Why do you say so and how do you personally feel about their ideals?
In one of my original fiction stories, one of the characters is an emperor who is basically taking over the world bit by bit, and has zero remorse about it. He believes that nobody can love him (for good reason unrelated to his status/warring) and has decided not to love anyone or anything either. At one point, frustrated with how passive his stolen fiancee is, he orders his brother to strangle her to death in front of him and then gets mad at her when she doesn't fight back (he orders the brother to stop, it was just like... a test?). He's very aggressive and believes that everyone only looks out for themselves, etc. so he does the same. (So her passivity sort of challenges him in a way. It's complicated.) It think it's a very toxic but easy-to-fall into worldview when someone thinks that the world is cruel to them, to decide to be cruel back. That's probably the most controversial mindset of my OCs, but that's sort of the point. Obviously I think he's wrong, and eventually things happen to change him.
If you, when you first started writing, met you now, what would younger you think?
She'd probably be confused why we stopped doing forum-RPing and be completely amazed that a single stranger anywhere in the world had read and enjoyed something we wrote all on our own. Honestly I think little me would think I was pretty cool and living the dream. Maybe I should remind myself that more often.
I really value the community in fandom spaces, which I think is why fanfiction is so appealing. We all get to play with the same dolls in different ways and go "ah yes, that's a cool way you played" and learn from each other and grow, and it's all around a shared love of stories. Storytelling is how humans make sense of the world, and community is what makes life feel like it has meaning to me. So this is a pretty cool place to be.

If you were given the opportunity to reboot FOP from the ground up, what would you change, shake up, or put your own spin on?
I'll have to give this a short answer, I no joke spent over 2 hours replying to this, then added a Read More and Tumblr told me that my post was too out of this world and it broke the editor. It kicked me out in a split second without any opportunity to save. Sorry to everyone who has to scroll past my stuff in the future, but I'm not living through this again. Read Mores have no place on my blog.
I'm furious because 1) I tried to copy-paste out of this editor like I always do and save in an external place, but the new editor is busted and only copies one paragraph when you do CTRL-A so I gave up, and 2) literally the last sentence I wrote before typing that was "Before my hiatus, Read Mores broke stuff, but I'm willing to give this another try." It's not even the same error it used to be. I can't. I can't.
At least we're friends and I think you know a lot of my thoughts anyway. Sorry it took so long to write an answer to this message, but I've already let it sit for so long that I HAVE to get it out of my inbox now or I'll never go back to it after losing everything :/ I can't believe that just happened. How ironic that one of the main reasons I went on hiatus was because stuff kept breaking and then it's worse when I return. Bleh.
So... Here's the short version of things I can remember talking about:
Update world lore, especially regarding Anti-Fairies. Anti-Fairies debuted in Season 2 and didn't reappear until Season 5; Anti-Fairy World itself made its first appearance in Season 6 because the Anti-Fairies were only seen in jail before that. Anti-Fairy World is kind of barren and stereotypical, and the general vibe of Anti-Fairies is that they are all evil because their magic revolves around bad luck. I'd prefer some gray area. I also feel like the characterizations for Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda were rushed and we should say it.
Logically I know that Anti-Wanda can be said to parallel Wanda's high-class mafia upbringing, but I doubt that was planned since Wanda's family only showed up in Season 5. In another universe, we could have had a classy evil queen. I love the grubby gal, but there are so many cool aesthetics she could have had instead. The Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda vibe doesn't bring anything to the table that Cosmo and Wanda didn't already have unless you take creative liberties.
Maps. Maps would have been great.
Designs. Cosmo, Crocker, and Dad really don't need the same shirt. Wanda's outfit is pretty bland too, and it's honestly a shame that Anti-Cosmo got a unique outfit but Anti-Wanda's is just a recolor of Wanda's. See also, classy queen.
Also I've never liked Timmy's Channel Chasers adult design; I just don't think it's in character. I feel like his body type would be much closer to his parents, and the existing one is just too extreme for my preferences. Doesn't say "Timmy the average kid" to me.
"Fairly Odd Baby" - As much as I enjoy the idea of Fairies placing a ban on babies because they're destructive and Fairy World likes to push away its problems, I'd have introduced Poof as part of an announcement that Cosmo and Wanda had been expecting a baby for 100 to 1000 years. Their lifespans are so long, it wouldn't be out of the question. A reveal episode could have been fun.
I also don't think I would have chosen to leave Poof a baby who can't speak for that long; I think he has a fun personality (Sasses Foop, deliberately puts Foop in harm's way, but also he's super chill and nice and likes sports) and I would have liked to see more episodes where he talks. I don't love how he was shipped to boarding school as soon as he was able to talk and dialogue was needed.
Vicky takes Mark back onscreen. She canonically decided she wanted to start dating him again, after she found out he was an alien and she broke up with him. She made the choice to take back her alien boyfriend and she loves him and we should talk about it. I'm obsessed with them and will forever treasure the deleted "Foul Balled" scene of them holding hands at the senior home while Mark is in his squid form. I support Vicky becoming the shapeshifting queen of a violent planet and being extremely in love with her squid husband.
Chloe / A.J. friendship. A.J. ended world hunger in Season 2 and he built a time machine a few seasons later, I feel like those two would have really hit it off.
More episodes of Timmy playing soccer. I will not re-elaborate.
More of side characters I love, like Molly and Kevin. I love them. I love Kevin falling farther and farther behind his uncle when they walk together, I love Timmy introducing himself to Molly's fairy by shaking her hand... They might be side characters but I feel like they add a lot more to the world and character dynamics in their few scenes than many of the characters do.
Sharing fairies. Timmy sharing fairies with Chloe (or Kevin) as part of a temporary program (like she was just here for one school year before her parents moved again). I think one of the issues people have with Chloe is that it feels like she's here for the rest of Timmy's fairy-related life, and I think a few months of hanging out with her would have been plenty and then there would have been a reason for her to leave the canon afterwards.
Make Chloe Dinkleberg's niece. My favorite headcanon. Also a perfect explanation for why Chloe's family would move to Timmy's street. Also a hilarious parallel of Timmy seething with frustration at his "perfect" neighbor despite spending the entire series making fun of his dad for doing the same thing.
More Timmy/Chloe "step-sibling" interactions. I support Timmy "I will sit with you while you have an hour-long panic attack" Turner in "The Booby Trap" but I cannot emphasize enough that I equally support Timmy "Will take a call from Chloe, listen to her explain that she vaporized a juice box, then hang up and go to bed" Turner. They are step-siblings...
Timmy, Chloe, and Kevin. I support Timmy - Chloe - Kevin trio interactions in general. They're a comedic trio and I want them to support each other.
Gary and Betty. Unironically, we need to talk more about Gary and Betty canonically being aware of the magical world. Or at least they adjusted really fast to being teleported from California to Florida and back again. Also we should talk about that time Gary rang Sanderson on his cell phone, which gets funnier the longer you think about it. Also I love them and we should talk about the deleted "Totally Spaced Out" scene where they tried to flee to Mexico together.
Ending the series with a proper send-off. I'm not a fan of Timmy keeping his magical memories after losing Cosmo and Wanda. Being the protagonist doesn't make him immune. I feel like there are so many ways this could have been done in a sentimental way that people would have loved... I'm sad we didn't get a proper send-off.
On the list of things we don't need to change - Imaginary Gary, Norm, Mark, Molly, Jorgen, the Pixies, Flappy Bob, Foop, and Ed Leadly. They are flawless, 10 of 10. We also do not need to change Chloe casually swearing, but meanwhile Timmy will call you out for saying "Moron" on the radio, and we definitely don't need to change "This isn't a fancy French restaurant- this is a black hole!"
I love the Pixies. If they didn't exist, I would have come along and prepped some worldbuilding about characters who maintain magical paperwork. I love my snarky monotone wasp boys.
Also I just want to shout-out Chloe and Kevin and their personalities being hilarious. I think there are several Chloe-centric episodes that have flawed storytelling, but I do genuinely enjoy the character you're left with after brushing off some of her exaggerated perfectionism.
Kevin has some of the best dialogue in the entire series, and those two just seem to write themselves when you pit them together. I like the mental image of Chloe venting to Timmy about how unfair it is that Crocker shows him favoritism and then it slowly dawns on her that she also has a history of getting a lot of favoritism.
Thanks for the ask! I'm sad I lost the full responses, but I think I've learned my lesson and will draft in an external doc first. Please learn from my mistakes, I will not take back my venting >:(
Even if I lost it, it's nice to take some time and think about some answers to these things. I'm also pretty satisfied that I was able to make this post long enough to feel like a good answer. Yay.

This is just a personal ramble about some of the bands I've gotten kinda deeply into over the past few years.
I feel like my experience of becoming a fan of Big Country is right in-between my experience of becoming a Pearl Jam fan and becoming a Sleater-Kinney fan, which is weird, I know, but I can explain: when I first started listening to Pearl Jam, over the first few months I slowly listened to their first three albums, and then it took me at least a year (actually, I think it was practically exactly two years) after that to listen to anything else by them, but I listened to those first three albums (the songs I liked on them, anyway - which has generally not changed) consistently for that entire time and stubbornly did not feel the need to listen to anything else by them or become a bigger fan; when I started listening to Sleater-Kinney, I think it took me only a couple months or so to exhaust their discography (and then of course I got the chance to see them live just a little over a year later; BUT WITHOUT JANET, WHICH I AM STILL SAD AND SALTY ABOUT even though the show was still great), and since finally giving them a chance in 2018 I've continued to listen to them on a frequent basis (although this year, I think I've only listened to them about 6 times a month, whereas for 2018-2022 I listened to them on a weekly basis...now it's slightly less than that, but when I do go to listen to them again I go 'oh wait fuck, I gotta hear...' hence the less than weekly basis, but still more than only a few times a month); now, as I'm discovering Big Country (discography, history, band members), I think it's been like 7-8 months or so since I listened to their first album, and I've only listened up to their fifth album as of today, but I'm, once again, consistently listening to their first three albums anyway. Like, this is not a speedrun like with S-K, but it's not quite the slow acclimation I took to Pearl Jam with, either...I don't know what it is yet. But I'm still very, very content to just listen to Big Country's first three albums, so maybe I'll hold off on listening to any others for awhile, although I am also (differently from many other bands and artists I get into) really enjoying watching some of their '80s concerts* that are on Youtube, so...yeah, maybe I'll just be content with that for a bit. Or maybe I'll get into them even more soon! I don't know. I'm just posting this here for posterity, because it's interesting to me what happens when I become a fan of someone new to me.
One last add-on...I also just realized that my fandom trajectory might actually be explained by these simple ideas: as far as I've heard so far, in my mind, Pearl Jam and Big Country became 'worse' (less exciting/innovative) as time wore on, so maybe I did and am kind of dragging out my experience of listening to their music because I consciously already know that and want to stave off the disappointment longer, but Sleater-Kinney got progressively better as they released more albums (and No Cities to Love, their "comeback" album after breaking up/being on hiatus, is one of their best in their whole discography) up until The Center Won't Hold (although I love that album), so I had to keep listening to more of their albums to hear the best stuff.
Huh. Haha. What an interesting thing to realize/think about. Thank god almost no one is going to read that because I really don't want anon hate for saying PJ or BC got worse or how I effectively compared them to S-K and that I am overall suggesting that S-K is better than either of them. lol A conversation I'm sure no one is ready to have! So neither am I!

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let's spread the self-love 💞
so this has been in my inbox for quite awhile, I've been occupied so yeah, thanks for the ask stef, I love answering things, and I love you🥺
so this is written and not released right?? cause I've only released a few and written lots.
1. It's gotta be my Say Yes To Heaven, Say Yes To Me (yes it's based on a Lana song shh) it's the first fic of the my Of Paradise and Vicissitudes Series which, I'm very proud of actually. And overall, I think my writing was better here than in other fics and I remember writing this when I was very motivated and excited and happy to write, so it's just a little more special.
2. The Everything Is Different fic. It's my first fanfiction I uploaded on ao3 and it's a short one but I remember posting it for the first time before going to bed and was super duper happy the next day when I woke up with kudos and I saw the hits almost reaching the 100 already. And it's something I can read and reread without getting cringed unlike all my other fics that I've written.
3. So this one I haven't uploaded yet and is still on drafts, only a few words but it's a tennis group chat fic and I'm planning to upload this after I finish my other long fic, the Rabbits fic (it's also one of my favs) and I really like where this group chat fic is going, I think the characters are kind of OOC but like idc. I alr have the plot in mind. I think it's going to be great, and yeah I won't say much cause I don't want to spoil🙈
4. He Who Chases Two Rabbits, Catches None aka Rabbits fic (god the title is so long man I really suck at titles💀) so this is my first long fic and it's currently on hiatus. But I really enjoyed the first chapter, second not so much, and it's really long just like how I liked it, and I mean it needs a little bit of editing here and there but I also have the plot written down and I think it's a good story, I just have to actually start writing it once I'm done w exams and stuff. But ofc there are some thoughts in the back of my mind that I should drop this, but I myself want to see how the story goes so I just have to motivate myself😫
5. hmmMMM okay, so I have this one fanfiction that I haven't and will never upload ever. It's a Shadowhunters fic but Harry Potter AU. Main pairing is obviously Malec and once upon a time, I thought of uploading it on Wattpad but it just took so much time for me to continue on the next chapters after that, but the few first chapters I wrote I really enjoyed writing it, and I think I really nailed the characters personalities and they all have interesting backstories and character arcs, I love it and I think my English teacher would like my writing.

Honey Revenge - Retrovision
My favorite album of this year is the new Fall Out Boy album, So Much (For) Stardust, and there are many reasons why, but it's not just for the sole fact that Fall Out Boy is one of my all time favorite bands, if not my favorite. They've been my favorite for years now, and it's great to see them back, but their post-hiatus material has been spotty at best. I enjoy their post-hiatus material a lot, but it hasn't aged as well as some of their earlier material (I still defend M A N I A quite a bit, because as electronic and pop-heavy as it is, it's got some of their best hooks and some of their most interesting ideas to date), so when they announced their new album, a lot of people were curious about what it would sound like. The first couple singles, "Love From The Other Side," and "Heartbreak Feels So Good" ended up being old-school sounding pop-rock jams, and you know what? That's what the album sounds like, but in the best possible way. The band went back to their roots, so to speak, and they decided to cut the "experimental" electronic stuff they were doing to make an album that they were actually proud of and were able to have fun making. So Much (For) Stardust is that record, and part of its charm is just that -- it's not trying to be anything more than what it is.
Sometimes less is more, but that's not the insult that a lot of people might think it is. I used to really enjoy music that was unique, weird, off the wall, and different in some kind of way, and I still do to some degree, but at the end of the day, I want stuff I can go back to. I want stuff that's catchy, fun, and memorable, not necessarily weird and challenging. I just want to enjoy music, and listening to albums like that isn't always rewarding or enjoyable. They might be great albums, but there's a lot to unpack, or they aren't accessible or immediate. I love a lot of albums that wear their sound on their record sleeve; they know what they are, and they don't try to do anything else out of that ordinary, or that would be unexpected for an album in their lane. Pop-rock band Honey Revenge is that kind of band, and their debut LP, Retrovision, has the same kind of charm for me that So Much (For) Stardust does, because it's one of the most fun, catchy, and enjoyable albums I've heard all year (and within the last few years, really). This record just came out within the last couple of weeks, but I can't stop listening to it, because of how infectious it is.
Honey Revenge is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Devin Papadol and guitarist Donovan Lloyd, the two met in Los Angeles at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and for the last couple of years, they've been doing their thing on Tik Tok and getting some virality from that. I've only listened to them a bit, at least just from what I've seen on Tik Tok, but I saw that they just released their debut album on Thriller Records, so I thought I'd give it a listen. Well, I was not expecting that I'd fall head over heels for it. What's interesting about this record is that there's not much to it. It has a rather basic pop-rock / pop-punk-ish sound that I feel like would have perfectly fit into the "neon pop-punk" sound of the late 00s and early 2010s. Bands like All Time Low, Forever The Sickest Kids, and Every Avenue had a sound that wasn't quite pop-punk, but not quite pop-rock, and they were very bright, fun, cheery, and catchy as all hell. This fits into that vein, and if you're diabetic, you might want to watch out for this album, because its hooks are sugary sweet. It's just a classic case of one of those albums that does what it does very well, and that's all it needs to do.
Papadol does admittedly have a slight resemblance to Hayley Williams of Paramore, at least on certain moments throughout this record, but they don't sound alike whatsoever. I hate how any alternative band with a single that a femme-presenting singer is automatically labeled as a Paramore copycat, but that's not the case here at all. Her voice is absolutely fantastic, though, and that's a big part of what carries this album, although the songwriting is good, too. The album doesn't have much variety, but the hooks on their own stand their ground. Songs like "Airhead," which opens up the album, immediately slams you into the ground with its fantastic hook, but as the album goes on, songs like "Rerun," "Murphy's Law," and "Favorite Song" continue that. The only real issue I have with this record is that its lyrics are a little subpar in spots, and a couple of songs have a bit of an awkward sound to them, such as "Habitual" (mainly in terms of rhyming and phrasing, because the hook is great), but the record is just so damn strong. It's short, sweet, and to the point, but just when it ends, I'm already pressing play again. This is a perfect summer album, so if you're looking for something catchy, fun, and relatively carefree that you can get stuck in your head, this is the perfect album for that.

Hello everyone! As you can probably see from the title, this is my last post on this blog. Some of you might've noticed my absence long, long ago - i think just a bit before ane hiatus.
Despite losing interest, that got further killed by the announcement of the almost 1 year long hiatus - i unfortunately didn't manage to regain the love for ane. I still think the series is great - and i hope everyone that waited so long, gets to experience the joy of this manga.
I've never regretted creating this blog. It allowed me to meet so many people, make so many memories - some good, some bad, but in the end.. I'm happy. I started writing in 2017 - and i still do to this day, but i no longer force myself to do it. The quality of my writing improved so much through the years, that right now I'm embarrassed when i think about the beginning, lmao. I hate praising myself, but it allowed me to see how much better I've become at it, and how much i can still grow and make my writing even more enjoyable to the readers.
I loved this fandom, especially reading your theories (as my peanut brain couldn't put two things together) - but also, I'd like to give a big shout out to the amazing artists and writers that contributed to the series.
I won't delete this blog (unless I find a post that's cringe worthy), so people who enjoyed my writing can still go back and read it - but also for the new people, that might find this blog in the future.
That was 4 great years, that helped me find a new passion, made my English so much better and further pushed the love for it, but also - got me excited every month, until the very end.
It's possible i pop up here once in a while, but i can't really promise anything.
But you deserve the biggest thank you in the world - the people who read my stuff, that I've talked with, shared excitement with - thank you. I really, really do.
4 years of being in this fandom - thank you, once again. It was an unforgettable journey.
Sincerely, aonogifreactions.

For the artist asks post! #10, #19, and #23
What’s that one thing that inspired you to make drawing your consistent hobby?
Art's my job now and it's been a hard task getting back into enjoying it because I like doing it, instead of having to do it for money. Before that I always drew cause I liked to & was pretty good at it. I feel like this could spawn a huge huge huge discussion about art and worth and who you do art for & why that no one asked for but short answer: I like drawing! And I'm really glad I figured out how to enjoy it again after a few grueling years of steadily growing to hate it. I get to fantasize about stuff and daydream and then doodle it out and fixate on little bits that I really enjoy rendering out. It's fun!
Favourite character(s) to draw?
I really like drawing B and Fido from my on-hiatus work Dead Love. They're a t4t couple, B is I think a particular joy cause they're undead and have black hair (I love doing hair that I get to fill in all in flat black, idk why but it's so soothing visually) and long nails. And they got the eyepatch. Fido's fun cause he's a fucky little guy.
I also really enjoy drawing Mark Hardy, son of the devil. He's not on this blog much but I used to draw comics about him. He's got great horns and (again) long nails, but sharp black ones this time.
As for other ppl's characters... I don't do too much fan art so there's not one that really rises to the top. Character types tho are knights, vampires... random gay medieval men lmao.
Do you listen to music or watch shows while you work? If so, what’s your favourite?
Yeah I gotta listen to stuff while I work or I go crazy. Music wise, Junior Boys' Big Black Coat has been on repeat for the past week. Klaus Johann Grobe's Du bist so symmetrisch is I think my favorite album I've discovered this year, as well as Holy Fuck's Congrats.
I also like watching (listening to) people play video games. Mostly horror stuff--Silent Hill 1-3, Bloodborne (my deepest love), all of Gab Smolders' indie horror streams. And then also all the Nancy Drew games I grew up playing & could probably complete in my sleep. (Halfmoonjoe's stream of Warnings at Waverly I think is a must-watch if you're into that sort of thing.)
