Part 3

Summary: Negan welcomes Raven to the Sancturary were things between them become complicated

Raven curiously watched as they drove up to an old factory, which she took to be the home of the Saviors, therefore the home of Negan.

"Nice place ya got here..." Raven remarks staring at the fence littered with Walkers chained to it.

"It keeps the other dead fuckers away" Negan comments proudly.

Raven raises a brow at him.

"Why do a few of the corpses look fresh?"

Negan flashes her a toothy grin in response.

"Do I even wanna know?"

"Nope..." Negan continues innocently grinning at her.

"Never mind then" Raven shakes her head in defeat.

"C'mon, let me show you the layout" Negan navigates her into the building then.

After Negan had given Raven the full tour of the building and its surroundings, they ended up in a massive bedroom.

"I take it this is your bedroom?" Raven remarks scanning the room.

"Yup" Negan replies, throwing himself on to one of the couches.

"First door leads to the bathroom, second leads to my office..." Negan explains pointing to the two doors on his right.

"And my room?" Raven enquires.

"That way..." Negan smirks pointing to the door behind him.

Raven arches a brow.

"Adjoining rooms?"

"Gotta keep my girl close by" Negan shrugs.

"Your girl?" Raven scoffs.

"Lucille always referred to you as my work wife, so..."

"People are going to think we're together if you keep calling me that" Raven points out to him.

"Would it really be such a bad thing...?" Negan stares up from under his lashes at her.

"What...?" Raven stares open-mouthed like a fish gasping for air.

"Is the thought of us being together really such a bad thing?"

Raven stood dumbstruck for a few seconds at his question.

Disappointed at her lack of response, Negan shakes his head.

"Never mind."

"Negan..." Raven takes a step closer when realizing she had hurt him in some manner.

Getting up with a heavy sigh, Negan does his best to hide his hurt.

"Dinners in an hour, you should get acquainted with your room and rest a bit."

Wanting to say something to relieve the hurt she had caused but seeing that Negan had emotionally shutdown, Raven silently nods in response and heads toward the door leading into her bedroom instead.

Raven sat on the bed in the room that Negan had assigned her, thoughts of conversation with him running through her mind.

Was Negan serious when he had asked the question referring to the two of them being a couple?

All this made her think back to the conversation she once had with Lucille years back.

"I need to ask you a favor..." Lucille remarked to her out of the blue while they were watching Negan prepare dinner.

"Sure, what is it?" Raven turns her full attention to her.

"I'm not sure if Negan's told you, but I haven't been well lately."

"He's mentioned it, yes..." Raven nods with furrowed brows.

"I'm going for tests next week" Lucille informs her.

"I'm sure everything will come up clean" Raven tries to reassure her.

"I'm not quite that sure" Lucille comments.

"I just have this nagging feeling that it's going to come back bad."

"Don't think like that" Raven grabs Lucille's hand when seeing tears in her eyes.

"Everything's going to be ok, you're going to be ok..."

"Even so, I want you to promise me something" Lucille requests.

"Promise me, that you'll be there for Negan if anything should happen to me."

"Lucille don't talk like that" Raven scolds her.

"Negan will be fine, because you're going to be fine."

Lucille grips her hands tightly around Raven's then, pulling her closer.

"Promise me, Raven..."

"Fine..." Raven gives in with a heavy sigh.

"I promise."

"Thank you..." Lucille faintly smiles at her in response.

Unfortunately, that would be the last time that Raven would ever see Lucille again. Not only was she wrong about Lucille being ok, but Raven also couldn't keep her promise.

"Oh-my-God... I fuckin' missed your cooking..." Raven moaned over a mouth filled with food.

"How'd ya know I was the one that cooked it?" Negan smirks at her from across the table.

"I've eaten enough of your cooking to know your style" Raven responds twirling the spaghetti around her fork.

"This was also the last meal you cooked for Lucille and I..."

"I remember yeah..." Negan murmurs thinking back to that one last evening of happiness he had with the two most important women in his life.

Flashback.

"Best fuckin' spaghetti ever..." Raven exclaims placing her fork down.

"You've been around this idiot too long..." Lucille points toward Negan with a chuckle.

"Hey...!" Negan stares at her offended.

"He outdoes himself every time he cooks, but his spaghetti is my all-time favorite dish of his" Raven remarks in Negan's defense.

"I love his cooking even more than I love him."

"Hey...!" Negan looks to her, even more offended.

"So, you're saying, you only love me for my cooking?"

"Guess the cat's out the bag..." Raven looks to Lucille sheepishly.

Negan scowls at the two women as they stare at each other, tears running down their cheeks with how hard they were laughing.

"Alright... alright..." Raven wheezes as she tries to control her laughter.

Getting up she makes her way over to him.

"I love you more than I love you're cooking" she ruffles his hair, placing a soft kiss into it.

"Better now?" Lucille snickers, shaking her head at him.

"Much..." Negan smirks happily at her.

"I'll get the dessert, you ladies put on some music."

I'm waiting up, saving all my precious time

Losing light, I'm missing my same old us

Before we learned our truth too late

Resigned to fate, fading away

"I love this song!" Raven exclaimed excitedly at the table.

"Negan, dance with her" Lucille orders him.

"No, you don't have to..." Raven waves her hands around, embarrassed at her childlike behavior.

"Madame..." Negan bows down dramatically, one hand behind his back as he reaches the other out for her to take hold of.

Raven lets out an embarrassed giggle as she looks to Lucille then.

"It's your birthday..." Lucille nudges her head with an encouraging smile.

"Enjoy it."

So, tell me, can you turn around?

Negan and Raven slowly danced to the music; his arms wrapped tightly around her waist as she rested her head onto his chest.

Lucille silently smiled as she watched the two; knowing that Raven was the right choice for Negan if her fears were correct.

Even if they themselves couldn't see, there was a strong love between the two, and Lucille wouldn't want anyone else except Raven to take her place.

Tell me more, tell me something I don't know

Did we come close to having it all?

"You ok?" Raven touches Negan's hand, snapping him from his daze.

"Yeah" Negan flashes her a sad smile.

"Just thinking of that last night."

"I miss her too..." Raven comments, squeezing his hand.

"It's in the past" Negan brushes her remark off.

Getting up from his chair, Negan point to Raven's empty plate.

"You done?"

Raven gets up from her chair, gently cupping Negan's face.

"She'll never be forgotten; her memory lives inside you and I..."

Negan silently turns his face deeper into the palm of her hand, eyes shut tightly as he nuzzled into it.

"Negan...?" Raven murmurs out, breathless at the surge of lightning between them due to the action.

Eyes fluttering open, Negan silently stares down at her.

The two stares at one another, silently asking an unspoken question.

Negan's eyes drop to Raven's lips, and in an almost trance like manner; his face edges closer to hers.

With their lips mere inches away from each other's, they were abruptly interrupted by a knock at the door then.

"Boss, you're needed downstairs" someone calls out from outside the door.

Realizing what had almost happened, Raven drops her hands from Negan's face.

"You should go..." Raven nervously takes a step back from him.

"Raven..." Negan steps forward.

"Go..." Raven takes another step back, turning then to head to her room.

"Fuck..." Negan mutters out softly as he watched her retreat from him.

new layout was so long overdue i was so bored with the old colour palette. i wanted something simple this time. almost decided not to have photos but then i discovered this pic of niall and i had to use it .

and on the browser this looks so cute too. and yes i still do like blind channel and lewis capaldi, just wanted to simplify this somehow. hope everyone has a great day byeeeee
