Prompt 251
Danny is tired and annoyed. On one hand, his parents took the whole ‘so I might be slightly dead’ pretty well! Which is good! On the other, they decided to send him and his sisters to their uncle while they take care of the Guys in White and refurbish the house to be, well, him safe. Which meant a ridiculously long flight all the way to New Jersey.
A flight he was pretty sure happened to be illegal what with the fact that neither of them were asked for their IDs or anything despite having them with them. Hm. Y’know he’s not going to question it, he’s getting a nap the moment they get to Uncle Harvey’s.

Since we are *officially* in the lead up to 1989 (Taylor’s Version) I’m going to need someone to ask her to explain what the hell that Colbert interview back in 2021 was all about.

if any of you are still feeling weird about that infamous interview, here is what alex said about it (and why that ashley girl doesn't like him). i really want to point out that what alex says here is the exact same thing us, miles fans have been saying since forever. so, if you are a fan of alex, but throw shit at miles, just remember that your favourite also supports him. and maybe think twice before starting arguments with miles fans and keep in mind that alex has the same opinion about it all.
Alongside Arctic Monkeys, Turner has a long-term side-project called The Last Shadow Puppets with his best friend, the Birkenhead singer-songwriter Miles Kane. During the promotion for their last album, the two did an interview with a female journalist from the music webzine Spin. Turner was being his usual unforthcoming self, so Kane attempted to break the ice with some groan-inducing banter. This included inviting the journalist up to his hotel room when she asked what he was doing after the interview, which, in hindsight, was pretty stupid (he realised as much the next day and emailed her to say sorry). The result, though, was a lengthy op-ed calling out Kane’s unprofessionalism and the misogyny of the music industry at large. Personally, I found some of her complaints against him a tad flimsy — holding eye contact for too long, high-fiving her, “yanking” her in “for a not entirely consensual kiss on the cheek” as she said goodbye, and not least the idea that interviewing a rock star is ever supposed to be an exercise in professionalism.
What did Turner make of it all?
He sighs. “I think he made a joke he shouldn’t have made and realised he had misjudged the situation.”
I thought it was a bit OTT, I tell him.
“Yeah, I’m not sure it was deserving of that response honestly, but you just can’t make a joke like that.”
(from 2018, this interview)

One thing that was weird to me in an interview Rick made after the Medusa episode was when, in regards to the changes from the books and how Annabeth instantly figured out where they were, he says around the lines of "Oh she's a daughter of Athena, goddess of wisdom, so why didn't figure this out sooner in the books" or something like that (correct me, politely, if I am wrong). And, to that, while I understand wanting things to be different from the books it's also important to note that isn't it implicitly stated that, in the books, both Percy and Annabeth were under some sort of magical spell that basically had them throwing out basic thinking out the window? And also weren't they literally starving after having little to nothing to eat for hours? And also, again, they were kids! They probably aren't going to figure things out right away no matter how smart, especially when hungry!

I think the easiest way to remember Louis is a selfish morally grey character- besides vampirism in itself- is how he contextualizes his relationship with his own sister Grace.
While talking of the traumatic experiences he has gone through, he adds to the list the ‘abandonment of his sister’ unclear if he is recalling it as him having to abandon Grace or his hurt that she abandoned him.
As if Grace, who had one brother commit suicide on her wedding day, then didn’t have the other just disappear day of funeral.
As if she hadn’t defended him and tried reaching out to Louis as he settled into married life with Lestat.
As if Louis did not nearly eat his infant nephew, never visited to see his nieces, and left Grace knowing with all the instinct a human and mother can possess- that he isn’t safe for her kids to be around. Louis literally was at his packed club every night.
Louis breaks down their door, he avoids them for decades just to come to their mother’s funeral, he dangles financial security in his sister and her husband’s faces as if it isn’t a serious worry for them while he doesn’t actually need wealth to live.
Grace puts to rest the memory of the brother she loved, an older woman now, while his ghost tries to convince her hes still there. She is going up North, while being born to an elite Creole family, to do work that isn’t much but its survival for the Great Depression. Louis that isn’t your trauma to have that is hers, you abandoned her

Thoughts now that I've finished Six of Crows
- I have definitely aged out of YA
- "I didn't watch very many heist films in prep for this actually" yes ma'am, we could tell.
- still pretty fun. I will be reading the second one.
- "I love you but I respect myself too much to settle for what you're currently offering" is an absolutely insane thing for a YA girl to say to a brooding bad boy love interest I loved it so so much 10/10 epic iconic good for her.
- scary Nina 👍
