Alright well I’m on a train on the way back to my parents place after a successful day in the city (though health wise I kinda feel like shit right now so that’s fun) but yeah I’m dead so consider this a basic review plus some feelings on the shows because I have lots of them. So, woke up at 8:30, got ready and left at 9. Got to the station and got Dunkin’ Donuts, then bought tickets and got on the train. Once we arrived we walked down to Times Square and decided to go to juniors for lunch which was pretty good. We had a little time so we went into the forever 21 in Times Square and got gloves because our hands were cold. Our first show, American Son, was in the booth theatre so like 20 feet from juniors basically lol. We basically decided to go because Jeremy Jordan, but he was a fairly small part of the four person show, which was framed around Kerry Washington and Stephen Pasquale’s characters as parents of a mixed race 18 year old son who has not returned home at 4 am and they’re now at the police station because there was some sort of incident but they can’t find out what and now they have to wait for info.
Jeremy Jordan was the rookie somewhat racist asshole cop that’s blowing off the mom then when the dad arrives (and has a badge because he’s an FBI agent) he takes the dad for the other officer he’s waiting for and says some not great things about the mom, then has to deal with that blowback. I don’t want to say too much of what happens but I’ll just say holy fucking shit, I was not ready, when the curtain went down I had tears pouring down my face and was actively trying to prevent myself from starting to sob (fitting that this is in the booth theatre where 8 years ago I cried through the entirety of next to normal). So I mean if you get the chance I highly recommend but it will fucking break you. We stage-doored and got to see Jeremy which was cool, neither Kerry nor Stephen ended up coming out but that’s ok. We were still fairly upset when we dispersed so we went to go get ice cream from the Ben and Jerry’s on 44th but we then realized they had no seating area and we didn’t want to eat ice cream in the cold, so we walked and ended up getting churros and drinks from a pop up stand in Times Square instead. After that we went in the Disney store and then back in forever 21 quickly before walking over to Rockefeller center which sadly ended up being underwhelming because they hadn’t lit the tree yet so it was just a really big tree.
Welp. We walked back towards where we were headed and ended up at a restaurant in between, then walked the rest of the way up to 65th because our second show was my fair lady at Lincoln center. I didn’t realize it was LCT at first and was like why is this random theatre so far north??? But then I realized and was like OH. That’s why lol. Lincoln center is always so classy I felt underdressed in my jeans and a T-shirt but oh well. My fair lady of course had the amazing Laura Benati in the lead (otherwise known as Astra/Alura in season 1 of Supergirl, before Alura was recast in season 3) and oh my lord she was amazing. I’d never actually seen a production of the show but I was attached to the score because I’d done many a song from it in voice lessons and used I could’ve danced all night for various auditions before, so I already loved the music. It was a very well done production (no surprise there) and everyone was splendid. Laura Benati is actually insanely talented and was just a pleasure to watch the entire time. I liked how they just had her leave at the end 😂 they really had Higgins playing up the asshole here.
After the show we took a taxi to penn station to try to make the train but didn’t make it in time so ended up on our current one where it’s almost 1:30 am and we’re just now arriving, thankfully at least the station is closer to home but we’re apparently having to Uber back which I have less than full confidence in but my brother’s being an asshole so we don’t have a choice. So yay for all that, I’m gonna go now because we should thankfully be getting off shortly. Goodnight babes. Sleep tight.

wildestdreamsrps replied to your post: some words on the supergirl stuff - which i’m...
I saw a post trying to put Mechad in the “cancelled” category with Mel, JJ, Face of MonHell and Floral and I was like “not in my gotdamn house”. I’m meh on Mel, but I’ve been meh on her for a while. Sigh, I wanted to come back to the show but nah I guess.
IN THIS HOUSE WE LOVE AND RESPECT MEHCAD BROOKS!
He seriously was like not a part of it so like wtf back off of him
I hate to ruin My Brand™ but even before all of this happened I was getting a bit “:/” on her to a degree. Just from being like overwhelmed on my dash...and, admittedly, over the relationship stuff I normally don’t care about but like god it was still getting to me. Then again, I tend to get tired of people whenever they take over my dash, the one exception always being Chris for whatever reason. It probably helps his stuff comes in waves so I don’t have to see him constantly? idk
So I’m definitely taking a break from the reblogging of her, or at least the degree of reblogging, for a little bit. As I said, my queue is full of her/karolsen so like....lmfao.
Honestly, at this point, I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to the show. I had hoped they’d get me during s3 but like....james has a new love interest, manhell is coming back, lena’s a regular (katie seems great and i actually really love her atm but like i just don’t really care about lena?), they recasted laura benati, and they’re still using a white woman (who’s also dating casey affleck???) to portray a woc in their one actually canon f/f ship
so like........i don’t think anything’s going to bring me back at this point

lmao fuck it, do me.
Send me a url and I’ll answer the following;;@inze fuck it, I do you!! :D
Opinion on;Character in general: Still not over what happened in season 1…. Especially season 2 could use Astra to knock some senses in to Kara!!! Also so many opportunities with Astra that they just threw away and just in general not enough Laura Benati. I could go on. I need Astra back somehow, please!!!!! She is/was such a great addition to the story and I would have loved to see her work with the DEO or something like that. How they play them: Not sure if I got it right that you had not even watched Supergirl when you first started writing Astra? Anyway, you write her perfectly!!! Like close to the show/canon, but with so much more too! You expand the character beautifully - the Astra we all deserve!!The Mun: you’re so smart, why you so smart?!? We don’t talk enough though. You’re still the best though - with all the best muses!! Good taste!! A++++++
Do I:RP with them: Unfortunately not :(Want to RP with them: HELL YEAH!
What is my;Overall Opinion: Quality blog written by stellar mun!! Seriously I’m in love with your Astra and your writing! It’s just top shelf quality!!!
**Note: Mun’s answer are all to be completely honest. Don’t send url if you don’t want brutal honesty

The Vintage Project inaugura a Scalo Milano
