Star Wars Games Japanese Dub

I just watched a clip of a Japanese VTuber playing that moment in Fallen Order. You know, that moment where Darth Spoiler shows up to make Cal question his entire life.

Since I completed Ziost again, I’ve been thinking about its writing. I know KotXX gets grief, but at the same time Ziost leaves us with an incorporeal, planet-gobbling emperor. How the hell do you fight that? Lana and Theron both have their failings on Ziost but there really nothing they can do to stop the enemy. Everything is in vain, which does give Ziost its sorrow and desperation….….

but it also offers no way out. There is no other solution beyond a deus ex machina such as the Eternal Empire. Yes, Lana screws up by letting an agent of Saresh climb to her side. Yes, Theron gambles on a black op that totally wouldn’t have been greenlit. But… they fail because the enemy is undefeatable. It does not matter how competent or incompetent Lana or Theron are. Ziost was dead the second the Emperor left Yavin, and the storyline failed to give any solution other than Revan’s idea to make the guy manifest. No breadcrumbs no theories, no tech, nothing. We just get left with Lana and Theron trying to stick it out (or being pressured to resign by the player).

How could anyone predict or combat an entirely mind controlled planet? The people who resist are highly trained, disciplined, or damn lucky; there’s no way to predict who the Emperor could or could not control. Does this make Ziost’s feelings that much more Intense and powerful?

Yes, but now the Emperor is as OP as the player is with the Eternal Fleet. It’s the same dead end, just on the end boss, not the player. The one positive thing I would say about Ziost and the planet eating emperor is that it made us feel something. Unless you were into Theron, Nathema probably didn’t hit the same buttons for you (and I say this as a Theron fangirl). Still, a dead end is a dead end, regardless of the feels. I wish the SWTOR writers hadn’t written themselves in a corner -- multiple times.

25 ATC/3628 BBY: Alliance Commander Captain Eva Corolastor in evening wear and her husband Theron Shan in his formal Republic SIS uniform for her coronation (sorry, Lana) the two-year anniversary celebration of the liberation of the galaxy from the Eternal Empire.

Ever since @commanderlurker gave me the “why are you blushing” prompt, the idea that SIS has a dress uniform (and Theron kept his) has taken up residence. This is eventually going to be a short chaptered fic, and I have a couple of bits written, but when the opportunity came up to commission @caffeinatedrogue.... I got impatient. :D Couldn’t pass it up.

Based on the ‘tumblr users are burned out gifted students’ trope, Bastila is CLEARLY the tumblr user on the Ebon Hawk, but only after she got fed up arguing with (wrong) people on Twitter. (She still argues with people on Twitter, but on a new handle.)

Mission is on Tiktok and Youtube, doing urban exploration and makeover videos. Somehow, Zaalbar stars in both.

Juhani is on Instagram. She likes the filters and captioning system. She makes it a point to tag the Jedi Council on everything, with lots of emojis. That said, she has a secret tumblr where she obsesses over Bastila’s posts and vents her angst and frustration about her gender identity, sexuality, status as an alien minority, and injustices in the Republic.

Canderous is on Tindr, Grindr, Fetlife, Ashley Madison, Hinge... the list goes on. He has the general attitude of ~unzips~ “There’s your content!” .

Jolee Bindo is on Facebook, and every person he’s ever met is his friend.He reposts low-quality memes that make him laugh. He semi-regularly writes massive storytime posts that seem to be one very elaborate run-on sentence. He has no idea how to tag anyone or how to make anything “friends only”. He also has a MySpace account from ‘back in the day.’

Carth is on LinkedIn. He checks it once every six months, if that. He seriously doesn’t get any of this. He changed his profile picture for the first time since Dustil was born and was utterly bewildered by the excessive amount of likes and comments.

HK-47 and T3 are clearly on Reddit.

Ok, for those not clued into US politics or not watching the news right now, Trump got raided by the FBI. You’re gonna love why.

It is a felony to take historical documentation and paperwork from the White House. There are specific rules/guidelines, but most of the stuff from each administration goes to the National Archive, including and especially classified docs.

So, it’s not January 6. It’s not the tax evasion. It’s not the money laundering.

It’s because he stole history from the nerds in the National Archives that the FBI raided his house.

Since we’re all loving on our favorite archaeologist/historian this week, an appropriate comparison: This is like Talos Drellik bringing down the Empire because someone on the Dark Council took some holocron off planet.

Theron and Lana Fake Engagement

So I made a joking post a while back that Lana and Theron would 100% get fake engaged just to piss off Theron’s parents, (which I still stand by) I imagine it going something like this:

- There’s a party held on a neutral planet for peace talks and everyone notable from The Alliance, The Empire, and The Republic are there. Nox is being a little shit but what else is new, Imperius is being the sweetest Sith Lord alive and is just trying to talk about artifacts. So overall the party is going better than anyone expected.

- Theron’s drinking with Lana when they spot Malcom. They see Malcom visibly uncomfortable with the relationships between Empire and Republic civilians and they get a horrible idea.

Theron: “Malcolm! wonderful party isn’t it?”

Malcolm: “Theron! Well this is certainly a surprise, and Lana is it? The one who got Theron tortured?”

Theron: “Dad I would appreciate if you would refrain from antagonizing my girlfriend too much.”

- With the silence that followed you could hear a pin drop. All eyes were on them in a mix of curiosity and disbelief, well all eyes except for the two cypher agents who one seemed to be giving the other credits for a bet. With a soft “I told you so...” (Nothing could probably phase them anymore.)

- Theron of course can absolutely not, not take the chance to be more extra so he gets down on one knee. Lana knows what he’s doing one second before the rest of the room does and almost bursts out laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of it all. However, the estranged son of the Grandmaster of the Jedi order doesn’t fake propose to you every day so when in Rome and all that.

Theron: “What do you say Beniko? It’s been 7 kriffing years wanna make this official?”

Lana: “Theron I-”

Theron: “I mean you don’t HAVE to if you don’t want to. I mean it’s really not a mandatory thing-”

Lana: “Will you shut up and let me accept your idiotic proposal Shan?”

- The two hugged and Lana whispered in his ear, “The ring is positively atrocious.” And that was the Lana he knew and loved. A little later they managed some time alone considering that they were “newly engaged”

Lana: “Out of curiosity do you carry a fake engagement ring with you everywhere?”

Theron: “Hey! I’ll have you know that I carry a REAL engagement ring everywhere for FAKE proposals.”

P.S: You know I didn’t expect this to be this long I’m so sorry! And on the off chance that anyone wants to make a fanfic go for it. (Yes I ship Theron and Lana if they aren’t paired with the outlander, but their friendship is just as cute so read it how you want, the world is your metaphorical oyster)

So a handful of the gold Imperial enemies on Corellia for the Trooper are HK droids. This helps me confirm the headcanon I have that they at have least a few HK droids in the Empire’s arsenal. Lana Beniko gets one, and I headcanon that my Cipher Nine, Brynn, ran exclusively with an HK model that was programmed never to turn on her. That crashed ship in Section X? It would be silly to think that was the only one that the Empire had coming to them with HK droids.

(OK, this makes me realize how many WIPs at various stages I have, since I’m not even mentioning my attempts at original stories.)

Writing:

Dance in the Shadow of Honor: This is my SWtOR fanfic of Ucevi, a Sith Warrior, and Malavai Quinn. It’s my version of the canon story with a lot of infilling to make the story work better, at least for her. Explores how someone could be (mostly) light side in the Empire and still loyal, some of the possibilities in Sith-blooded sub-cultures, and two different struggles to balance honor with the heart. Very slow burn and will take quite a while to finish.

A Taste for Danger: SWtOR fanfic of Lana Beniko and ‘Noka, a smuggler. Each chapter was originally a one-shot I wrote for prompts here on Tumblr that slowly developed into something that made sense when I strung them into a series. ‘Noka is cheerful, boisterous, and reckless, and above all is attracted to danger. A (mostly) light-hearted exploration of their developing relationship. These stories kind of started by accident, but have been a delight to write. I currently have three more prompts in progress (one promises to be hilarious) and there are a couple of stories that were finished but don’t fit into the timeline yet. There really isn’t a beginning or ending to this one; it’s a journey.

(untitled): I have got two or three other SWtOR fanfic ideas I’ve been playing with. One is a Theron x Mala (agent) story, but it’s still simmering. One is Tery’s (trooper) backstory before meeting Koth.

Saying Goodbye: My post-DAI fanfic about Arisha Surana, Timur the mabari, and Cullen. Honestly, I spent almost 18 months writing this and ran out of motivation even though I have almost half of the remaining story drafted. One of the problems was I decided I needed to change something and hit a brick wall. But I had more or less quit playing the game halfway through the story which made it harder and harder to keep going. So it’s indefinitely stalled. Maybe once they start talking about DA4, I’ll get my enthusiasm back.

(untitled): a DAO fanfic about Alistair, his queen Elethea Cousland, and Zevran that I’ve written a few pages. I’m not sure I’ll ever finish it, but even now, I’m more enthusiastic about DAO than DAI, so it may happen.

(untitled): A DA fanfic idea involving the Grey Warden Riordan and Taina (Grandma Taina) Cadash, mostly pre-DAO, with a few moments in DAI. I love dwarves, and I love older women characters, especially when they have an interesting past. However, I haven’t done anything with this except scribble ideas.

Rain Plays SWTOR: Aurora Cannon (Section X)

I've seen this mentioned as a difficult mission and for a long time I was too intimidated to try it. You need it for the Section X dailies, and while it originally required a group, it can be soloed now.

There are three ways to get through Aurora Cannon solo. 1. Stealth all the way through. This is the easiest way. Walking through takes about 90 seconds. The final boss does seem to detect stealth but as we'll see below, it won't matter because he is optional. If you are stealthing, just skip to the end.

2. Run through, get clobbered, and still finish the mission by throwing the bomb before you die. I've never been able to successfully do this. 3. Fight through. Here we go! We’re going of course with Viri (Vengeance Juggernaut) who has these stats but is scaled back to Level 52 in Section X. Her companion is Lana Beniko, who has influence level 50.

Viri also goes in with Premium Polybiotic Med Unit on her quickbar as well as Unity, Enraged Defense, Intercede and Endure Pain all quickbarred and easy to find. There's a medical droid near the tomb entrance. I always have Viri stop and check if she needs repairs whenever she finds a medical droid, and that doesn't change here.

Here’s your map. We will need to pass eight mobs to get to the end. There are three types of NPCs in the mobs: Dread Host Zealot: Troopers. Mostly an annoyance. Dread Guard Infiltrators: Female Imperial officers in uniform. Kill them as soon as you can because they can heal themselves and their fellow enemy NPCs. You will notice them back in the corners as you fight, healing everyone. Dread Guard Champions: Sith that cast Force Lightning and Force Storm. Interrupt these whenever you can. They are much easier to handle when the Infiltrators are gone, but they often end up stealing focus and getting in your face you so have to deal with them first.

Heroic Moment is your friend. When Viri was weaker she threw HM at every one of the mobs. Now she uses it for 1, 2, and 4. In the first section, you can also try to throw the NPCs off the bridge. For Viri Force Push works well if it's angled correctly.

Group four, just before the archways, is the hardest IMHO. There are a lot of NPCs. I throw HM, and this is where I sometimes end up using a medpac or Intercede to help Lana.

Keep following the map around the facility. Be careful not to wander off into the alcoves or you will be stuck fighting extra mobs.

Once you get to the second set of archways, you are almost done! You don’t need to fight the last boss. So we're going to ignore him. Hug the right side wall as much as you can. The boss can detect stealth, so don't wander around the room. Keep right and stay away from him until you are safely on the righthand platform.

The boss seems to detect stealth, so this goes for you too. :)

Mouse over the Aurora Cannon (circle in the middle, you’ll see the bomb floating) and click to throw your grenade. Make sure you get your mission complete notification and head to the transporter. You’re done.

If the boss sees you, it’s still not a big deal. Ignore him, even if he’s wailing on you, and calmly throw your grenade. You’re done. Now, how to get rid of the annoying boss? If you don't want the fight, jump into the chasm right next to you. You will respawn at the medical droid at the beginning of the tomb, which is exactly where you want to go anyway.
