Love Languages - Primo Edition

Giotto's love language, both giving and receiving love, is above all quality time. Honestly, people think he must have found the secret of time and must be using it to have extra time in his days because, no matter what, no matter who it is, Giotto seems to make time for all those he holds dear. To him, his time, his attention, his care and his love is the best gift he can give to those he cares about and how he can best make their lives the best. To him, no matter how busy he is, the people he cares about are something he will always find time for because to him, they aren't things to be booked and what he's getting is the thing most precious to him - their companionship, attention, and precious memories he'll forever cherish with those he cares about.

G's love language, as a giver, is a mixture of quality time and acts of service. Much like his dear friend Giotto, G. has come to accept that the best gift in life that you can get or give is just yourself, your time and the act of making memories with those you care about and he makes an effort, as busy as he is, to make time for those he loves, though not quite as successful as Giotto, mostly because he does have need for alone time as well due to his nature and temperament. He kind of feels bad about that, especially with how effortless Giotto makes it seem and when he does have time with his loved ones, he likes to make it count and tends to make up his absences by helping those he cares about, with whatever it is they need help with, often without them ever needing to ask. Receiving love, G. responds best to quality time because it helps him feel accepted and because it echoes what he is used to but he's also a huge sucker for words of affirmation, as they are things that always were and always will be rare in his life and at the end of the day, everyone enjoys hearing that they are loved or that people are proud of them, right?

Ugetsu Asari...it's no surprise that he gives love through acts of service, right? I mean, there is absolutely nothing, NOTHING, this man wouldn't do for those he cares about. He gave up his love for music and took up the sword, despite it not being his wish for his life, just to help his loved ones. And he doesn't think twice about it or regret it because to him, to make the lives of his precious people better, there is no such thing as sacrifice. While he seems clueless at times, Asari is quite observant when it comes to the nature of people and as such, there's no wrong way to show love to him. He'll see it for what it is, no matter the form it takes.

Knuckle's love language is a mixture of gift-giving and acts of service. Even before the accident, Knuckle was an earnest man willing to help anyone who needed him, willing to go out of his way to take a burden off someone else and put it on his own shoulders. He was generous and more than willing to give what he had or could afford to others, never expecting it back but making them gifts freely given. After the accident, because of the simple life of a priest he lives, the gifts he became able to give fell more in line with acts of service, being the gift of a willing, attentive listener, the gift of unwavering loyalty to his loved ones, and the gift of acceptance and forgiveness to all those who sought it but especially so to his loved ones. Knuckle receives love best through quality time. His life is simple and he is out of the way at his little parish and so he does know that his loved ones have to make time and go out of their way to spend time with him and that he cannot treat them to anything especially fabulous when they do get there. Knowing that they come anyway, just to be with him and to spend time with him - how can that not make him feel loved and special to them?

Lampo, while a spoiled brat, is more than generous with those he truly cares about. Nothing is too good for his loved ones and he has no problem wiling away his money on gifts for them. It makes him feel good to give gifts, makes him feel important to be able to send treats or provide niceties and frivolities to those he cares about, making his love language gift-giving. Now, in a weird way, there is absolutely no wrong way to show love to Lampo. He doesn't care the form it comes in. He just wants to be admired, doted on, adored, treated well, and to be important to those he also cares about. However his loved ones show him that is just fine with him, as long as they show it.

Alaude is a busy man and one who generally hates people. The way you know you're important to him? He allows you his time and shows up to help you or be with you when you truly need him, no matter how busy he is or how important his other business is. It's no surprise his love language, giving, is quality time. To receive love, to Alaude, means that his loved ones give him the time to himself he needs, give him understanding and space and room to be who he is, without putting pressure on him to conform or to go along with the crowd and without crowding him, making the way he receives love a very specific type of acts of service.

Daemon Spade shows his love through both acts of service and words of affirmation. He can spew surprisingly sweet and romantic notions and can turn a phrase quite well and while it might sometimes come off as a bit contrived, almost all the time it is very heartfelt and deeply meant. On top of that, when he truly loves and treasures someone, he lives for them. Their will is his command and what he wants most is just for them to be happy and to make their lives better. Receiving, he receives love best through quality time. He wants those he truly cares about and trusts close to him as often as possible and his time with them will be what makes him truly happiest.
