Julius: Ah, Hanna. Is it dinner time already? Have I been working that long?

Johanna: No, you haven’t missed dinner…

Julius: Did you survive your walk? It’s so gottverdammt hot here, I’ve got a hundred fans going all the time. I couldn’t imagine walking outdoors in this.

Johanna: I did come to talk to you about my walk, yes.

Julius: Oh yes? How’d it go?

Johanna: Well enough, for a while. He didn’t seem very interested in me…

(Julius stands)

Julius: Was he rude?

Johanna: No! No, he’s always perfectly polite. Sometimes I wish he would just be a bit more than polite, really show that he wants to spend time with me. 

Julius: You’ll get there, my little turteltaube, give it time. Love doesn’t blossom overnight.

Johanna: I fear it never will, Julius…

Julius: Why? What happened?

Johanna: As we were walking, His Majesty saw Princess Phoebe walking on her way to the beach, and he abandoned me to walk with her instead.

Julius: He did what?

Johanna: He very politely excused himself, but he did just leave me in the garden to spend time with her, instead.

Julius: Hmm… Interesting…

Johanna: I just thought… you might want to know…

Julius: Don’t you worry about a thing, Hanna. Let your big brother take care of this. I will handle it.

Johanna: Thank you, Jules.

Julius: Go cool down and take a rest. I’ll see you at dinner.
