I started this sketch back for kuspuk week, the design here was inspired by kuspuk worn in dance and singing performances, the stance from tai chi. I'm quite patrial to the idea that southern waterbending was partly traditional dance in nature.

I saw this fanart on Instagram that kind of reminded me of yours, but it didn't have your watermark or anything...

I remember seeing an illustration of yours of atla kuspuk week that looked similar to this so I just wanted to check

TRANS JEONG JEONG! a couple looks for her once she comes out of the closet. i like to think she'd keep her jagged deserter hair as a bit of a rebellion, and ever since @mostly-mundane-atla 's kuspuk week i've been imagining her adopting the style. it's loose-fitting, from the water tribes (in-universe), and is totally fine for people outside the culture to wear - she'd love it. her earrings are referenced from here.

Kuspuk week: play and values

In the AtLA universe we know that all the men left the village short after the raid that took Katara and Sokka's mom away. It certainly caused additional pain to the siblings, but it surely affected the other children of the village.

In the first two episodes of Avatar we saw many kids within the women, boys and girls from the age of 6 to 9 years old, I assume. The youngest ones wouldn't have a chance to met their fathers probably. Fathers wouldn't have a chance to create dolls for their daughters.

I think Sokka, deeply caring for their community, would take upon himself to engrave dolls for these girls that never met them. He at least had his father for sometime during his childhood, they didn't. And Katara would absolutely help him bringing a little joy in their lives.

Kuspuk Week Day 4 - Values

The value I chose was siġñataiññiq - sharing. Kya and Sokka are sharing some food with this raven in the snow! But I also see Iḷammiuġniq - creating friends. Ravens are good to have as friends after all, better than having a raven as a enemy ;)

Hello loafs 🍞🍞🍞 how are you?

So this is the (2 day late) late submission for day 1 of Kuspuk Week, Obviously Aang is my favorite. I've surprisingly never posted any art of him

I couldn't come up with a background that made sense, but pretend I put any effort into that part.

@mostly-mundane-atla is truly someone to look up to in the community taking the time of their day to educate us <3 ily.

I definitely would've added more details, but I am a slow person and I've got school. Plus I wanna do at least one more from the challenges because I actually put some research into this.

I'm not doing kuspuk week this year. If you wanna draw atla characters in kuspuks for its own sake, please do. Kuspuks are fun to draw and are incredibly practical garments with a lot of customizability making them as fancy or plain as one would want. I just don't have the energy to make it an event with unique prompts this year
