Lord Shen x Reader, first meeting headcanons?

Ooh 👀 this is definitely something I've never gotten before, excited to give this a shot!

I do want to warn you ahead of time i SUCK at writing anything romantic. I don't know how to write/describe it well without making it cringe and/or cliche but of course that's just me lol.

Because of his royal status, he was definitely pretty spoiled and had that "I am greater than thou" type attitude so he was that kid that everyone hated lol

Because of how loving his parents were, I feel like they wouldn't want him to be cooped up behind castle walls all his life, they would want him to familiarize himself with the village so when he inherited the throne, he would be a good ruler, so he was not homeschooled.

He was kind of a brat ngl, especially with the fact that it was his family that invented fireworks so he was also a bragger xD

Your parents were servants at the place Shen lived at, so you knew about this kid. But never really got a chance to talk to him because of his higher status.

He seemed pretty fun to be around, sure he was kinda loud and you were more quiet but you liked how energetic he was.

But most importantly, you were really interested about this entire firework stuff! He talks about it very often, and it sounds really cool, he seems like he has access to the fireworks very easily...

You would most likely "officially" meet if you will, at school, he's always off at his own little corner in the palace so there's no chance you'd be able to talk to him there.

It would be during some free period, more likely than not lunch. He's seen you around a few times at the palace and assumed that you were probably the child of some servants or whatever that worked there and he's been a bit curious about you for a while now

Usually the people that served at the palace didn't have children and if they did they'd probably send them off, so you were a pretty rare case.

Y'all talk some during lunch, just about normal stuff, nothing too out of the ordinary, you could Shen is just like "I can't believe I'm talking to this kid" because you were at a lower status than him and therefore "inferior"

But y'all do hit it off and become a sort of casual friends :D! Shen does explicitly pretend he hates you tho lol but in reality he does enjoy you around! It's nice to have someone to play with, royalty life can get a bit lonely at times

It won't be until the two of you are a bit older do you ask him about the firework stuff. At that point he's gotten into it a lot and he's grown a lot more chaotic/mischievous than when he was younger, despite the fact he's supposed to act like a sophisticated prince or smth lol

🌸a few observations🌸 - I’ve never watched a single second of Sinbad but Eris gets to be here bc she pretty - I’ve also never seen madagascar 3 but my bestie said the police lady is cool so she’s also here - The villains from Wallace and Gromit and Flushed Away are gems but there wasnt any space left for them sorry my dudes - The fact that I drew a fricking biblical villain on the same page as an evil simp with a crappy hero costume says a lot about Dreamworks and that’s why I love them (also shoutout to Schaffrillas Productions on YouTube his videos on Dreamworks are amazing and made me fall in love with this studio again)

I'm not sure if this has been asked before? You got any Lord Shen and Kai HCs?

I do not believe I've gotten a request like this before. So yes, indeed I do I have those headcanons!

Lord Shen:

Hehe loud noises and explosions go brrr

"Shen stop setting things on fire because you're curious about what will happen. What will happen is fire" "But what if something different happens just this one time."

He's the guy that will come about and destroy your LEGO set moments after you finish building it

Because he was born into a royal family, he was kind of spoiled as a kid- not like, overly spoiled, but definitely treated better than should

Because his parents loved him so much, and they wanted him to be treated the best way, so he was essentially treated like a little prince (even though he literally was but I'm just trying to emphasize something here)

So he's used to things being "my way" which is why he stopped at nothing to get what he wanted

This man went ballistic okay, like bro go touch grass

I really like his tactic when he pretended to admit defeat to Po, thats a great way to catch your enemy off guard

Aside from the gunpowder shet when he was younger, he also studied battle tactics when he little as well, basically the nasty war stuff

Who the funk let this kid near those things- I mean this dude literally did just wander around the palace and go here and there

I love how it's canon that he has low pain tolerance because he'd get a paper cut or something really small. Right? But he'd be screaming and be like "aaaAAAaaahhHhh iM gOnNa diEEEE!!!"

Overdramatic, but at the right times 👀

Kai:

He's quite literally the perfect example showing that power corrupts

Back when he was still friends with Oogway and a good man, if anyone said something bad about Oogway, Kai would be like "what the F/CK did you just say"

Very headstrong and arrogant, and battle hardened

His thought process is pretty much "how can I make this MORE useful MORE powerful" which ultimately led to his downfall as he used chi for a dark purpose

He's a very proud warrior and pretty clever with his fighting tactics

Openly mocks enemies and calls name kind of like how Po does, but on a much higher scale

He won't hesitate to call you a dumb@$$ if you trip on a rock

Hes pretty much a jerk lol but if he seems you worth respecting then he's actually not that bad

Typically that comes with proving your fighting skills or just be plain impressive

I bet he's used the "you can't kill me I'm a bad b/tch I'm already dead" to mock his opponents, if he did that in KFP 3 lol whoops but if not then he def said that off screen /hj
