And yet, instead of asking a question, or even just seeing a shitpost and scrolling on, you want to lecture me and accuse me of abuse, of putting my child in solitary confinement? Found one of those autism moms websites and I saw a lot of people commenting things like "I love my child, but hate autism!" And also the "autism took my child from me!". Also just a general feeling of wanting to cure autism as if it's a disease that ruined their children.

While I can understand the caretakers of autistic people need to be heard and also need support, I don't think these moms are coming at it from the right POV.

I'm wondering if I'm being too sensitive in getting upset reading things like that since I'm autistic or if I am being reasonable in having a negative response towards such comments. What's your take?

I’ve seen similar things online. I’m not sure why they say or feel these things. It makes me kinda angry and upset. My guess is that they’re confused about autism and how it can affect their child. I wish more parents out there would do some research on it. I’m sure that would explain their child’s behavior. But that’s just a guess. I’ll tag @autistic-af and @krisrisk so they can share their thoughts on this. I think Krisrisk has a child, so they might have some more insight than I do, since I don’t have any kids. And autistic-af has some more experience with this, so they might share some thought about this too. I’m interested in what they have to say about this.

Wine time. Winding down with a nice South African red. This week, Calzone ended up in the hospital struggling with her ODD, ADHD and depression. They were kicked out of their residential program and are now home with us.

Several of my mutuals have children with behavior, mood, and genetic issues as well. I wish all of you a peaceful, lovely weekend.

@krisrisk this is the Frankenstein post of you.

I won't post the trailer, because it looks so much worse than what I remembered watching, that it has to be what tanked it. That, and being produced by Hallmark with a bit too low special effects budget.

So, there's both parts seemingly available for watching. I wonder what the catch is, besides the obvious: only automatically generated subtitles that have troubles catching exactly the same words that were too muted for human ear.

Now, with all the downsides aside, this version also gives you:

Donald Sutherland as the only voice of reason;

seriously the cast is so good it almost takes the attention away from bad special effects;

a triangle with an actual triangle potential (I mean it literally: between Victor, Henry, and Elizabeth every configuration would make sense);

Victor being annoying little shit and the film not even pretending he's not;

The Creature that deserves a whole new post. I mean, he does look like he's just crawled from his own grave, but seeing those cheekbones I completely understand why Victor wouldn't look for a fresher corpse anymore.

Have you maybe watched Hellboy II?

It's the same actor, only in black wig this time.

And he's exactly this viciously dramatic all times he plays monsters trying to kill their fathers (something he also does in: Blade 2, and technically also in my favorite action thriller of all times named Interview with a Hitman - also strongly recommending this one), which to me was perfect.
