ATEEZ Wooyoung MBTI Analysis

- ESFP -

An in-depth analysis of an idol's MBTI type. Based on my opinion and observations, may change later. Not an expert.

ESFP (Se - Fi - Te - Ni)

Dom: Se (Extroverted Sensing)

A perceiving function that uses our 5 senses to process the external world.

Wooyoung is always aware of the present moment, quick to react and to take action. He also pays attention to physical things such as aesthetics, the visuals of the performance, the way he looks, etc physical appearances matter a lot to him.

He enjoys photography and videography, which are pretty good activities for Se - it allows him to use his senses to make visually stimulating images and videos. Physically engaging activities seem like the best way to energize him e.g cooking and riding a bike. Cooking is great for his Se as it engages with all his senses - all the movement in cooking, tasting the foods, the aromas, watching the food cook, plating, maybe he enjoys hearing the sounds of food cooking as well and/or the way kitchen tools slightly hit each other (e.g knife on a cutting board).

This moment especially was an incredibly Se dom moment. Comparing it to Si user Jongho (Si has to step back and assess first), being the Se dom he is, Woo just went for it.

Aux: Fi (Introverted Feeling)

A judging function that uses one's own values and belief to compare and make choices

As Fi wants to be authentic, that is what Wooyoung always strives for - he always wants to express himself well, to be real. He wants people to like him for him. He returns the same gesture with others - he wants to know the real version of others. Wooyoung tries not to make assumptions at first meet since he knows he will not learn everything just from one encounter. He seems very empathetic.

Tert: Te (Extroverted Thinking)

A judging function that uses established facts and systems to make objective, working decisions.

He's quite goal oriented and takes time to plan to achieve these goals, even if it's not the most detailed. Either way, he knows how to get what he wants and works hard to reach his achievements.

Wooyoung lays down the rules as well - Te can be by the book, which Wooyoung can be sometimes. E.g when he was explaining how he found it rude when juniors would not put in the effort to correctly bow down to him and other senior artists. Wooyoung has a strong belief in being humble and kind (Fi) and wants to implement this in everyone.

Inf: Ni (Introverted Intuition)

A perceiving function that uses one's own personal insights and ideas

In his episode of "Fill in the Blank" series, Wooyoung said he wanted to use dance to convey deeper messages and emotions for others. He wants to be a sense of comfort, the light in other's darkness. He has always wanted to make an impact on others from a young age, especially considering how much he values relationships.

Why is he not an xSFJ or ISTJ

Both types use Si - Ne, which I do not see in Wooyoung at all...xSFJ's Fe is understandable, but Wooyoung is sometimes a bit too straightforward and honest to be using Fe in his main stack though lol.

And ISTJ just does not make sense in general for him.

an interesting moment i see in kpop x mbti spaces is how people tend to conflate "shy/anxious around unfamiliar people" with being introverted. a sentence i've seen way too many times: "they're really just an extraverted introvert" referring to some member who's the mood-maker in the group but once they have some individual public activities they get all serious and silent.

how did mental disorders (particularly something like social anxiety) end up being equal to being introverted? you do know extraverts can also experience anxiety? what do you call an extravert who has social anxiety then? "the most introverted extravert" perhaps?

everyone's constantly looking in the wrong places when it comes to extraversion/introversion. and it's just the tip of the iceberg, only 2 of the many terms, when it comes to typology. imagine how far off everyone is when speculating someone's full type.

Kim Hong Joong (Ateez) - K-Files

Hello and welcome to K-Files.

While I lack the focus to do some readings, I have decided to share one more project I do regarding idols. K-Files (the K is derived from Kleo, not Korean because I also did non-Korean celebrity profiles) is a summary of information you could find through multiple sources but I have put them together into one nice package.There facts about Hongjoong and there is a ton of information based on his astrology signs, blood type, numerology profile, etc. Feel free to tell me whether you would like this thing or not. It’s pretty long and while most of it is copy / paste, I still have to spend time on it. So if you think it’s too long and unnecessary, just tell me, don’t be shy.

ATEEZ San MBTI Analysis

- ISFP -

An in-depth analysis of an idol's MBTI type. Based on my opinion and observations, may change later. Not an expert.

ISFP (Fi - Se - Ni - Te)

Dom: Fi (Introverted Feeling)

A judging function that uses one's own values and belief to compare and make choices

San is incredibly Fi valued - he has a strong belief of being genuine and wants others to do the same. Fi focuses on authenticity and realness - being a highly moralistic function, it would not feel right for an Fi user to put up a front or particular image just to suit other's tastes/expecations.

His very Fi answers from Singles 2021 interview:

How I look at people

I definitely look at people based on their morality. No matter how nice of a suit they show off, It's hard for me to like them if they are rude to others. There may be achievements that can be achieved by working hard in a short period of time, but because morality cannot be made overnight, I think much more effort is needed.

Impact on the fans:

...Our fans may have received a lot of influence from us, but I hope they can all form their own values nonetheless. As much as possible, I tend to refrain from saying things that are likely to be judged as good or bad because I am worried that fans might get the wrong idea due to what I say.

Aux: Se (Extroverted Sensing)

A perceiving function that uses our 5 senses to process the external world.

San is in tune with his environment, always paying attention to others and events in the moment.

“For San, it’s movies and dramas [that inspire his performances], he takes those characters on,” explains Wooyoung. San, widely lauded for having an explosive stage presence, makes his creative choices the day of". Very Se of him to make decisions without prior planning. I've also noticed Se dom/aux type performers often have "explosive stage presence" as they're usually focused on the image and presentation of their performance.

Tert: Ni (Introverted Intuition)

A perceiving function that uses one's own personal insights and ideas.

San always had a dream of becoming a singer since he was young. Having Fi - Ni, he chose his heart and pursued his dreams. Passion drives Fi and Ni towards their visions.

Inf: Te (Extroverted Thinking)

A judging function that uses established facts and systems to make objective, working decisions.

San uses his Te to plan and pursue his goals. He always gives it his all in his career, constantly improving in his singing and performance. He loves what he does and takes the effort and steps to achieve his goals.

Why he's not an INFP:

Although both types are Fi dominant, their aux and tertiary functions are different. INFP has Ne-Si (Extroverted Intuition - Introverted Sensing), while ISFP uses Se-Ni. From what I've observed, San doesn't really seem to use Ne.
