Here’s my jam sessions I did yesterday! 🕺🏻 These were actually two separate synth jam sessions I did yesterday and I decided to combine them randomly to see how they sounded together and even though it doesn’t match up completely with the tempo, I think it sounds pretty cool! ✌️ It’s inspired me to try and sync them up with each other for my next session and try actually playing them together. I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m fairly new to these types of analog synths so everything takes longer for me when I’m tweaking it and trying to find sounds I like. It’s been a process which I’m sure anyone who has experience with analog synths understand this. Haha. I have much more experience with polyphonic workstation synths. So I’m still learning how to patch, etc. But this one was super fun and I finally feel like I’m truly starting to get the hang of it. Haha. I’m honestly in love with the way they both sound and wanted to share!✨🎛🎚✨

Weekend plans = Spending time with these two beautiful machines 🤖 I only started my semi-modular/ modular synth journey a few months ago. I’ve always been a workstation type synth person with the fuller keyboards and polyphonic pad synth features. Lol. But I’m so happy I invested in getting these synths. It’s opened me up to whole new experiences. They bring me so much joy. And it’s really turned into something so relaxing to me to just sit down a tinker away at finding cool new sounds and beats - even if I’m not the greatest at it yet. Lol. It’s really the best and super fun! What are you weekend plans? Tell me what you have going on 💜

⚡️New lighting⚡️

I finally got a chance to put some of my lights back up in my studio this weekend! And I added way more panels than last time too! Lol. I’m loving the way it looks so far! Lighting has always been super important to me especially when I work. And with the darker months fast approaching, I knew I needed some more light in this studio corner of mine to feel good about my space. It’s a great way to start off the Monday! ✌️✨

So yesterday I decided to make a more permanent home for my music studio area. I took back my original studio space room since it was pretty much completely empty anyways for potentially selling my house. I did a similar vid about a month ago. But that was more of a temporary space than anything because of house showings. The studio has to remain a little more white washed then I’d personally prefer. Nothing “niche” or “weird” to random cookie-cutter people coming thru here 😭😂 But I’m incredibly grateful to have everything even more accessible & ready to create now! I love this room a lot so I’m happy to be back in it for now. I can easily work on my new album now that I have a bigger, quieter space & hopefully this helps the process speed along a bit 💿✌️

In a kind of mental fog today. I keep setting out to do something and then forgetting what I’m doing 🫠 I guess that’s just the way Monday’s go. Lol. After struggling with Hay Fever for months, I finally went to the doctor yesterday. My hay fever got so bad that I it developed into a sinus infection & a upper respiratory infection🤧 I’m currently taking lots of meds, staying hydrated & on the road to recovery. My doc is optimistic that I can get my symptoms under control in a week or 2. So I’m trying to rest as much as possible🤞 But that doesn’t mean I’m doing nothing. Lol. I’m definitely still making music & messing around with my new @korgofficial ARP 2600 🎛 even if I am in bed 😆 I hardly ever talk about health stuff because I don’t want it to come across like I’m complaining or bad off. I’ll be okay☺️But I did want to bring this up to say… that sadly, I’m not going to be able to release my new album Epica on the date I had initially set out to release it on; tomorrow on 7•7. Since I’ve been so sick off & on I haven’t been able to work on it as consistently as I need to to finish it. It’s around 75% done but still needs some work. It’s still coming though! But the release date will have to be moved. I’ll keep everyone updated on the new release date. But it won’t be too much longer. I’m so sorry to have to make an announcement like this 😢 One of my major strengths as a person is staying really consistent & scheduled. Lol. But this sickness has obviously been kicking my butt… so I’m really sorry to disappoint the people who have been looking forward to my new album. I still stand behind the fact that I think it’ll be my best album yet & I promise it’ll be worth the wait! Thank you all for your support & understanding through this all. Last night, I got my Korg ARP2600 out & had so much fun playing around with it for hours! I seriously love this synth so much. I definitely feel like it’s on my top 3 of favorite synths. I love the fact that you never know what you’re going to get. The result is different every time 🎛️

✨Welcome to a mini Midnight Synth Session✨ Featuring the Moog DFAM + Korg ARP 2600! This is a short clip of this synth session. But had to share some of it since this was my first time I’ve had a chance to sync up the DFAM and ARP 2600 properly. I’ve been wanting to do it for a while and I finally did it! Lol. I still have to play around with tweaking the sounds and everything. But it was so cool to play them together like this. Learning modular/ semi-modular synths is like learning a brand new instrument. There’s so much to learn and so much that goes into it. I still consider myself a newbie at it. But I always have so much fun! 🕺🏻 ALSO, this session features these new LED patch cables I just got. Midnight synth session ✨🎹🎛✨

For this synth jam session I used the Korg ARP 2600 with the Roland Fantom X8 with the Jupiter X patch. It was so much fun to play these two together and jammed for quite a while actually. This is just a short little clip of my session.

There are a few difficulties playing a poly workstation with something like the ARP 2600 I’ve found in this sesh. And I definitely think the ARP 2600 would be easier to play together with a drum machine like my Moog DFAM - which will probably be my next synth jam.

I feel like one of the hard things is that when you tweak the ARP 2600, it sometimes changes keys on you because of the bending on the notes, etc. So you end up having to transpose the other synth in your head to the correct key if that makes sense. For example, even though I’m playing a C note on the Korg keyboard visually, it’s actually an E. Lol. So on my Roland, I’m actually playing in the key of E minor. It can get confusing especially when you’re playing them together. Haha. I don’t think there’s really a way around this if you’re messing around a lot with the intonations of the ARP synth, etc. I think it’s just something you have to workaround or get used to. But overall, it’s so cool to play and hear them together! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this little session clip!✌️
