Dr. Robert Moog unveils the "minimoog" synthesizer, one of the first portable synth keyboards, at a price of $2,000. The American Federation of Musicians at first opposes the instrument, fearing its "realistic" settings will put horn and string sections out of work. The minimoog becomes the first synth to go on tour with rock bands.
Here’s my jam sessions I did yesterday! 🕺🏻 These were actually two separate synth jam sessions I did yesterday and I decided to combine them randomly to see how they sounded together and even though it doesn’t match up completely with the tempo, I think it sounds pretty cool! ✌️ It’s inspired me to try and sync them up with each other for my next session and try actually playing them together. I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m fairly new to these types of analog synths so everything takes longer for me when I’m tweaking it and trying to find sounds I like. It’s been a process which I’m sure anyone who has experience with analog synths understand this. Haha. I have much more experience with polyphonic workstation synths. So I’m still learning how to patch, etc. But this one was super fun and I finally feel like I’m truly starting to get the hang of it. Haha. I’m honestly in love with the way they both sound and wanted to share!✨🎛🎚✨
Today 89 years ago was born Robert A. Moog .A day like today was born in New York Robert A. Moog, co creator of the practical version of the synthesizer, electronic musical instrument designed to produce artificially generated sounds. The synthesizer sounds created by direct manipulation of an electric current, the manipulation of an analog or digital waveform and / or by manipulating discrete values using software based synthesizers. In the March 1974 Popular Mechanics magazine asserts that it is possible to create more than seven million different sounds on a synthesizer and to play them all, a human would have to live 210 years.
In a kind of mental fog today. I keep setting out to do something and then forgetting what I’m doing 🫠 I guess that’s just the way Monday’s go. Lol. On the other hand, I’m happy and grateful to be working on some new music today as well! And I’m determined to get through and conquer this day 👏 Hope you are all having a great Monday! 💜
