Wheres the post where you introduce your OCs? :O

They were actually introduced in a fic I wrote before the askblog existed, Hidari Shoutaro’s Home for Technically Non-Existent People. From their last names, you can probably guess who they are.

Technically, there is one character who actually exists in canon- Tomari Eiji, who was introduced in Surprise Future, Drive’s summer movie. However, I had to rework his character because the version we see was actually rendered defunct by the movie’s events itself, and his subsequent appearances are of his current child self.

I also made some bios with images of the kids* I made using picrew (links for the creators I used in the original posts). I’ll repost the pics here, just so you can have an idea of how they’re supposed to look like. They’re supposed be around their mid to late 20s in these images btw.

*Eiji isn’t included here, because hey, the guy who played him, Arata Mackenyu, is a total cutie anyway...

the rider kids(sora, haruna, eiji, and your ocs) have a playdate

Hmmm. Haruna and Eiji are a bit older than most of my ocs (the Kiryuu sibs + Hidari Kentaro), so I think they’d play more with Sora, though even that is a bit up in the air.

For a little context, here’s some added info about the kids, extrapolated from canon materials (and my own hcs for the Kiryuu kids):

Tomari Eiji would’ve been born around December 2016, making him 4 years old at the moment. (Thanks to @sailor-cresselia for figuring this out for me via this chart)

Terui Haruna is a bit older than that, since she was born before her father’s cameo in Chase’s V Cinema, which took place before Drive ended in 2015. We don’t know when exactly she was born, but that means she’s at least 5 years old now.

I don’t think Sora has a canon age stated, but I’d hazard a guess and say he’s around 6-7 years old. (Correct me if I’m wrong on this.)

For the OCs: The eldest of the Kiryuu sibs, Fuyumi and Fuyuki, were born in December 2020, which means they’re currently only a few months old. Kentaro is 3 years their junior, born in 2023. The youngest of the Kiryuu siblings, Ryuhei, is born another 4 years later, in 2027.

Therefore, due to the age gap, Haruna, Eiji and Sora probably don’t have many playdates with the OCs. It’s more likely that they end up babysitting them, though Haruna is the only one who actually would since she’s the one who lives in Fuuto.

Riders family day with their kids (official and your oc's)

The Hidari family (Shoutaro, Philip and their son Kentaro)

Good luck dragging these mystery otakus anywhere outside of Fuuto. Usually their family days are just trips to Fuuto Tower and the park, watching movies at the cinema, and going to the beach when the weather is warm enough. Otherwise, they’re pretty content just hanging around the Agency waiting for the next case to solve.

The Kiryuu family (Sento, Ryuuga and their kids Fuyumi, Fuyuki, Akane, Chiho, Haruki and Ryuhei)

Each member has a turn choosing a thing that they like every weekend. Between the six kids and the two fathers, there’s enough variety that the family never gets bored from their excursions. Also, they’ve since learned the names of the local firefighters and paramedics in Fuuto due to the number of family days that ended in failed experiments i.e. explosions.

The Hino family (Eiji, Ankh and Akane)

Eiji and Ankh are rarely in Japan so Akane, Eiji’s sister, spends time with them whenever they are. They hang out at the Cous Coussier and have long chats talking about whatever they’re up to in the time they were separated. Eiji also treats them to ice cream every single day, and never fails to be surprised at how they never get tired by it.

The Tomari family (Shinnosuke, Kiriko, Eiji and currently-unnamed daughter)

On the rare days off the couple has, they take their kids out to eat at a family restaurant for brunch, then they go see a movie or go to an amusement park or something. If Gou happens to be in Japan, they visit him and Chase in Fuuto where they now live and have dinner with them too. (They call ahead to make sure they aren’t... busy.)

The Terui family (Ryu, Akiko and Haruna)

Like with the Hidari family, they’re usually reluctant to leave Fuuto. So usually family days are limited to day trips to nearby places. But they do occasionally use family day to visit Akiko’s mom in Osaka, or the cabin Sokichi owned in the mountains, and in that case they make it an overnight trip to make best use of their time.
