KiloWatts & Vanek - Perennials Remixes (Harmonious Discord)
8DPromo · KiloWatts and Vanek - Perennials Remixes (Harmonious Discord)
Spring begins to bloom as seedlings lay down their roots, a sturdy foundation for their generational journey. The masters of the journey, those perennial species that brave the cycles of the earth, continue to endure. Rewind nearly 20 years to a festival in Augsburg, Germany, called Lab30, which featured a bouquet of forward-thinking musical pioneers. In that collective were the cross-genre band KiloWatts and Vanek, who had played their first show in 2004 as part of a gathering of like-minded music producers and artists worldwide, focusing heavily on experimental electronic music and art. Fast forward to the present, KiloWatts and Vanek have reunited in a boundlessly special album called Perennials. The album is a truly impressive blend of their classic signature sound and multiple nods to musical innovations that have sparked in between their albums. In celebration of Perennials, the duo decided to reach out to some of those artists for a reunion, as well as collaborate with new friends made along the way. The collection spans a network of producers from near and far, old and new, with eyes looking to the future. The remix collection offers a bountiful selection for all musical minds, from the intelligently precise ethereal offerings by Orphax, The Village Orchestra, Megaheadphoneboy, and Lackluster to the upbeat midtempo music from Erothyme, Gift Culture, Polygon Rainbow, and PointBender. Heavier techno placements from PointBender and Andrew Sega ultimately crescendo into the edit-heavy, dub offering from PHAENOS. Rediscover the Perennials listening experience with this dynamic selection of remixed offerings and rediscover the collective experience.
*Klaus Benedek (Fortunea Records) – “The Gift Culture Remix of One Day is a Beauty!” LUROB (Still Bumpin) – “Nice variety on this release. PointBenders Warehouse Dub of Nankurunasia is my go to.” P.M.F.M. (Deep Dive Corp.) – “Excellent release!” Danny Ward (Moodymanc) – “All nice … Fermenwah (TVO Tool) in particular got me here.” Sandro Bianchi (Ibiza Sonica) – “This is amazing!” Redstickman** (The Ambient Mafia) – “Great album! Please Hold (Polygon Rainbow Remix) is amazing. Super lush and chill. Love it!”

I love how Hayward's writing is strong enough to seep into common rhetoric.
"Show them fear"
"Kill your gods"
Things people say without even needing to know where it comes from.
How much change will be spurred by giving people a rallying cry, giving them spite as another path?

No lyrics because it's a cover. More info below the cut.
HARSH VOCALS ANON I FUCKING LIED TO YOU 😭😭😭 Ves does his baby screams in this song too (which, what a stylistic choice to do piano + harsh vocals) and I fully spaced it out. I had a feeling I was forgetting one or two songs, and when I was casually listening to the lost media I have I heard this and literally panicked. Like, where did that come from?! Plus the date on this one kinda matches what I was thinking in my answer to your ask. Lmao, anyway:

Press X to doubt. Ves is a liar and this did not take him one hour, I don't believe him. /j

The real win for women in Arc-V is Yoko Sakaki.
She's really into pinterest recipes. She has six houspets. She makes fried pork pancake sandwiches. She has a fireman pole in her living room. She took in a mysterious ten year old because he looked too much like a stray dog. She married a circus performer.

Polygon Rainbow - Approaching Eternity Remixes (Harmonious Discord)
8DPromo · Polygon Rainbow - Approaching Eternity Remixes (Harmonious Discord)
Harmonious Discord continues to celebrate the music of Oregon multi-modal artist Polygon Rainbow with this exquisite revisit to his Approaching Eternity EP released earlier this year. The remix consortium delivers a cadre of melodic mysteries, stretching the original contents to new stratospheres. Joining the release are artists KiloWatts, Erothyme, A Path Untold, Encounters, RFRKT, and A Concept Being — a collection of artists who explore the well of infectious inspiration. A Path Untold washes the title track into a shaded melodic journey with the collision of massive walls of sound playfully dancing with plucked synthetics. Accented with staggered drums, precise bass accents, and penetrating sub-bass. Infinite levels of deepness ascend with expert precision in this opening selection. KiloWatts saddles the stars with his Interstellar Transmission Mix, gently riding comets of cacophony. A tide pool of swirling melodies ultimately produces a dub groove that attracts and synchronizes the melodies like delicate strands of time. Out of the snowy capped tundra comes the next revisit by sonic inventor Erothyme. Showcasing his masterful manipulation of tone and tremolo, Erothyme layers intelligent drum programming with bigger-than-life harmonics. The programming enjoys moments of insanity while always docking safely into a well-tempered workout. Harmonious Discord label chief dons a new moniker aimed at exploring the trails outside the dancefloor with the next remix. The Concept Being teases out the subtle evolutions of “Inner Workings of External Processes,” adding a swung groove to bounce the track onward. A quick diversion finds us at sharp synthetic basslines and a further floating of the many arpeggiated sequences into delicious disorientation. Polygon gets his own hands dirty on the project, this time showing the emerging sounds of his alter moniker RFRKT. RFRKT ups the tempo and drops the bass floor with a dynamic reinterpretation, with phase for days. The final remix comes from Encounters, who constructs around the beautiful dulcet tones and guitar accents in “Reconstructing Corrupt Memories.” There is no end to the levels of euphoria that descend on this epic finale to the Polygon project.
Klaus Benedek (Fortunea Records) – “KiloWatts & The Concept Being made interesting versions of these tunes.” Psycho-Jones (Kater Blau) – “It’s like floating in space.” Andreas Kinzl (Aromabar) – “As always, outstanding mixes.” DJ Morpheus (Lysergic Factory Radio Show) – “Excellent remixes. All of them, top notch!” Jon Fugler (XLNT radio show) – “Some standout moments here - Approaching Eternity hitting the spot - Encounters Remix sounding rather lovely too.” Simon Kirk (Proton Radio) – “Magical Electronica. Conversations with the Void in particular is just beautiful.”
