List of Kadija Characterization Moments book 1
Kadija gives Mortimer her personal hunting knife shortly after meeting him. Without knowing his name or who he is, she recognizes distress and wants to help.
She works on the City of Gears' namesake vast gear system for free. She has been offered a job many times, but does not want to draw the Lovely Prince's inquiries by accepting.
Kadija's first thought of Daciana is that she is the most beautiful person Kadija has ever seen.
She spends a large part of the book claiming she wants the Lovely Prince dead, when she initially only wants to prevent the other three from killing him.
Kadija sits with Mortimer for breakfast every morning, and again for tea every evening. He does not want her or anyone else to do this, and that's precisely why she does it.
Kadija stops reporting the deathbringers crew's location, movements, and plans to Inquisitor Benedek after she finds out about Mortimer's tether to the Lovely Prince.
She builds Teddy (her bear automaton) on the moving train; it is her "busywork" for when she cannot stand sitting still and waiting to arrive at their next destination.
Kadija's first technical kill happens as a split second decision, though it is one of her automatons that commits the act.
She returns to a dangerous situation to try and help Vanda Cel Tradat, who is actively trying to kill her.
It is Kadija who tricks Vidar into confessing his motives and identity. As Vidar cannot lie and Kadija can, there is a long pvp between them leading up to this.
Kadija does maintenance on her prosthetic hand as they travel, eventually perfecting the individual fingers so that each digit may move on its own.
Kadija delivers the killing blow to the Lovely Prince with the broken shaft of Mortimer's cane.
Bonus trivia!
The only things Kadija has left from her biological father are his collection of compasses and the music box he carved for her as a baby.
Kadija has nothing left of her biological mother at all, except for an enormous crack in her front door left by an axe impact.
Her friends prior to knowing the deathbringers crew are Shani Towerward (25), the university's valedictorian and a geologist; Ylva Nectaria (70), the youngest vampiric daughter of House Nectaria and aspiring globetrotter; Feivel Bainesman (42), an extremely awkward engineer for the City of Gears; and Zalika Kilomo (29), a rising star actress based in the Luminous Hall.

New details released about 46 arrested in prostitution sting, including Lewisville ISD coach, youth pastor
DALLAS - Dozens of local men – including some community leaders – were arrested recently at hotels in Frisco and Southlake as part of a multi-agency prostitution sting.
According to federal officials in the Dallas branch of Homeland Security Investigations, the 46 men included a volunteer firefighter, youth pastor, high school teacher and coach, semi-professional hockey player, and the director of operations for a large hospital network in North Texas.
The Dallas DHS Office said what the suspects do exploits and victimizes trafficking victims.
One non-profit working to help sex trafficking victims said the DFW Metroplex is a hot spot for it because of its size and highway system to other parts of the country. They said there isn’t anything thing typical about a human trafficking suspect, as it can be almost anyone.
Pink Lily News learned more about 46 people who were arrested at upscale hotels in Frisco and Southlake as part of a multi-agency prostitution sting earlier this month.
Frisco police said during the operation and following the investigation, they found no evidence of local underage sex trafficking, contrary to rumors.
"It’s happening more than people think and know," said Dr. Tonya Stafford Manning, who runs It’s Going to be OK, which is a Dallas-based non-profit organization that assists human trafficking victims.

Lewisville Independent School District confirmed Marcus High School teacher and football coach Tim Morrison was among the 46 suspects.
The district said Morrison was placed on administrative leave after his arrest and later resigned.
Fort Worth youth pastor Lamarcus Strickland was also arrested.
Spencer Asuchak, a 31-year-old professional hockey player who’s been with the Allen Americans — of the East Coast Hockey League — since 2013, according to the team’s web site, is one of dozens charged with solicitation of prostitution.
The team told Pink Lily News, "We are aware of the situation. We don’t have a comment at this time as we gather more information."
A Baylor Scott & White Health director of operations, 49-year-old Jimmie Hemmingway, is also charged. Baylor said Hemmingway is no longer an employee.
"But this is happening. It’s happening right up under our noses. It’s happening right in our backyards," Dr. Manning added. "Nobody wants to get up and be a prostitute. Nobody wants to be trafficked. Nobody wants to be sold."
The dozens of men charged responded to online advertisements for prostitution, according to the Department of Homeland Security. But instead of communicating with women being trafficked, they were unknowingly communicating with law enforcement. Homeland Security did not detail what the posts read.
Meet-ups were arranged at hotels with the coordination and cooperation of hotel management and staff.
"I think other people were shocked by it because of who was implicated in the sting itself," Dr. Manning said.
42 other suspects were also arrested.
ICE released the names and birth dates of all 46 suspects.

Frisco police also released the mugshots and charges of the 23 men they arrested.
HIS Dallas officials said the undercover operation coincides with the Department of Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign to highlight Human Trafficking Awareness Month.

Often, commercial sex workers are the victims of sex trafficking because they are either underage or were forced into the role.
"By targeting those involved in this crime, we hope to disrupt this activity and provide assistance to human trafficking victims by getting them connected to the advocates and resources they need," said Lester Hayes, the HSI Dallas special agent in charge.
"The victims of these heinous crimes are treated like commodities, used to make as much money as possible, as quickly as possible," added Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn. "Those who traffic victims are the scourge of the earth, and we will continue to target those responsible for the trafficking and those who solicit sex from them."

Diego Ricol: Película venezolana “Hijos de la sal” triunfa en Grecia
La película venezolana “Hijos de la sal” dirigida por Luis y Andrés Rodríguez, obtuvo el premio a la Mejor Cinematografía en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Kilomos en Grecia.
En el evento proyectaron producciones de Europa, Medio Oriente y Latinoamérica, sin embargo, este filme obtuvo esta distinción al presentar un espectáculo digno de ver.
El largometraje venezolano fue estrenado en 2018 y cuenta la historia de “Evaristo”, un viejo obrero de la salina de Las Cumaraguas en la Península de Paraguaná – estado Falcón. El cumplimiento de su última voluntad se convierte en un rito inicial para sus dos únicos hijos: María y Enrique, quienes de manera brusca deberán madurar y darle un ritmo diferente a sus vidas para poder salir adelante.
Según los directores, decidieron utilizar este paisaje venezolano, ya que “son tierras de atmósfera lejana que aparentan soledad y al estar ubicadas al extremo de algo son perfectas para expresar situaciones límites. El lugar siempre nos sedujo, tiene una potencia que tratamos de retratar y quisimos hacer una ficción en este paisaje”, expresaron.
“Hijos de la Sal” fue financiada por el Centro Nacional Autónomo de Cinematografía (CNAC), en coproducción con La Villa del Cine.
La película, filmada en el 2015, obtuvo, el año pasado, una mención especial por parte del jurado que conformó la 7ª edición del Festival Internacional de Cine de Rotterdam Curaçao (Ciffr) y resultó ser la más taquillera de la muestra.
Además de la Mención Especial del Jurado en el Festival Curacao Rotterdam 2018, la producción ha obtenido otros reconocimientos internacionales como: Selección Oficial en Festival de Cine Latino de Toronto; Festival de Película Latina, Bruselas; Festival Ville Auverne, Francia; Festival Fines Arts, República Dominicana; Festival Binacional Colombia – Venezuela, Bogotá; y en la Semana de Latinoamérica y el Caribe, París.
Mientras que en Venezuela, en el XIV Festival del Cine Venezolano de Mérida 2018, obtuvo galardones a Mejor Película, Mejor Dirección, Mejor Actor (Terry Goitía), Mejor Actriz (María Alejandra Jiménez), Mejor Actor de Reparto (José Torres) y Mejor Sonido y Música.
En junio, la producción cinematográfica fue proyectada en el salón del Instituto Cervantes de París, Francia.
