I'm 93% sure I made a post about this before, but Taylor using other people's powers better than they do is such a fun part of her character, especially since she seems to constantly be thinking "damn if only I got that actually useful power." Like, Lisa thinks Taylor would do better than her with her insight power, Taylor coordinates Cuff and Theo to make a lightning rod during Behemoth fight when neither of them had thought of that, Clockblocker with the string, ordering around like 10 people including fucking Eidolon to hold Behemoth still for Phir Se, she's always scheming and using people as chess pieces in such a way that they're not even mad because it's a learning experience. I think a large part of it is a want to be anyone but herself, which leads to her looking at other powers and considering their uses more than most people do because she just finds every reason to be jealous and justify her passive belief that she's inferior and weak. Also she's just so used to high stress fucked up situations that she performs well under pressure. She kinda acknowledges that in the chapter where she's like "what the hell why is Amy so stupid she should be using microbes to form defenses" because she realizes Amy has no experience in fighting, so she's never had a need to think about this. But Taylor is always fighting, even when she's finally safe she doesn't let herself relax, so she's used to this.
And as for wanting to escape her body and be someone else who's cooler and has a better power and isn't lame and worthless, if I recall correctly she comments more than once on how powerful Genesis is and how she would love her power, which honestly fits so well. She wants to have other people's powers because she doesn't like herself, and Genesis's power lets her create and customize new bodies that aren't her and can do whatever she wants. It's the perfect way for her escape being herself.
And then Khepri is thematically significant as always. She finally can use other people's powers, and damn she's good with them! She magnifies Sundancer's sun with Vista, she combines Ballistic and Foil, she uses every combination and interaction possible for an advantage. She can use other people's powers like she always wanted, and she stops being herself, just like she always wanted.

MONKEY D. LUFFY HC: BEETLE
Since he's closely associated with the sun and of course, Nika, I think linking Luffy's love for beetles and the sun would be an interesting next step
As many may have already know, the beetle specifically the scarab beetle is closely linked to the ancient Egyptian god Khepri who is a sun god
Knowing this, I like to headcanon that Luffy's favourite beetle is the dung beetle. The scarab especially
Kids his age would usually pick the rhinoceros beetle, Hercules beetle or stag beetle as their favourite which is common for beetle lovers
Luffy on the other hand, has always loved dung beetles most of all. He likes the humble insect as it rolls its ball of dung, finds them silly and fun. Luffy especially likes how scarabs 'dance' on their ball of dung, even dancing along to the beetle's rhythm
Because of his adventures, fighting against boredom and responsibility as a captain, Luffy rarely ever gets to slow down and talk about beetles. On occasion that he does remember, he sometimes talk about it with Chopper and Usopp. Most of the time though, the conversation tends to focus on beetle fights and having fun
Then, he meets Torao
Torao who prefers the quiet and reading books as well as sora comics. For whom that Luffy wants to learn to slow down and appreciate the quiet and thoughtful patience. The person that Luffy always wants to tuck himself by Torao's side and rambles quietly about anything and everything about his beetles and knows that the older captain is listening
Luffy knows this because whenever he gets talking, Torao would have an arm around Luffy's waist. But whenever he gets to his beetles, Torao would always tighten his hold and rubs a thumb against Luffy's hip
As time goes on, Torao would slowly lower whatever book he's reading and would actually ask questions. The 1st time that happened, Luffy couldn't stop rambling and answering each and every question Torao has for hours
Luffy didn't even notice that it'd been way past lunch too
And in that time, those gold eyes (different from the bright rays of the sun though. If anything, Torao's gold eyes are cool and luminous like the moon of the autumn equinox), would never stray from him
It never fails to make Luffy sway closer to the older captain, telling him about the little things too. About his favourite, the scarab and how warm his chest feels when Torao doesn't laugh and gives him that faint smile and asks to tell him why the dung beetle is his favourite
So he does
He tells Torao everything that comes to mind about his favourite scarab. Its quirks and facts. Like why they roll dung or how good of a navigator the little creatures are. And Torao?
He listens and asks questions. Sometimes simple. Sometimes complicated. But always curious and clever
It makes Luffy grin, smiles so wide that he rambles even more. Makes him crawl and settle onto Torao's lap in his excitement that he barely noticed when Torao supports him instead of pushing him off. Makes him wants to stare into those golden autumn moon eyes for hours on end because he never, ever wants Torao to look away from him
It makes him drag Torao by the hand to dance the scarab beetle's silly little dance that earns him a laugh that's far better than any gold or riches
Which is why when he finds a really old amber fossil with a beautiful scarab immortalised inside that had somehow hidden itself within the band of his hat, Luffy knows who's it from
It tooks hours for either crew to pry him away from cuddling Torao like there's no tomorrow because of that

SOSOSO I WAS TEARING THROUGH YOUR BLOG (bc I love your fanfics they are so CRUNCHY) and I found an ask about what projects you would like to write and stuff and you said something about a comic with Umbran hair rituals but it was lost bc you couldn't draw I CAN DRAW AND I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THEM PLEASE PLEASE INFODUMP (I can't make comics but I can make concept art please madam just one chance I need that brainrot 🤲🤲🤲)
Tumblr media
SCREAMING !?!?!?!!? HELLO !!!!!!!!!!
So fucking HONORED you enjoy my fics. Crunchy is SUCH a good description. Crönchy™
This Barbie is me always thinking about Bayo to be clear
OH MY GODDDDDDD HAIR THOUGHTS. YES. OKAY. LET'S DIVE IN. BELOW DA CUT CAUSE I AS PER USUAL AM GONNA RAMBLE.
I just have a collection of various headcanons and such so I will put them in no particular order o7
Hair is DEEPLY personal to witches, because it is used as the medium for summoning. So caring for your hair is considered one of the most important things you can do (I have had this hc forever but CATLD made it canon, so I feel justified. HA.)
In Bayo 1, we see all the witches in flashbacks have their hair covered in some way (only Jeanne's hair is really visible, but it is still restrained in those little gold nets, and in CATLD Morgana's hair is kept up in elaborate horns) so I hc that witches tend to keep their hair up or covered or protected once they reach adulthood - they only let it down/uncover it when they are alone or around people they trust!!
To touch another witches hair is a HUGE deal - I wrote about this briefly in this fic, but essentially to be allowed to touch/brush/style another witch's hair is the ultimate sign of trust!! Even witches who train together constantly or are directly related don't necessarily ever touch each other's hair. It is like. The biggest of deals type thing. To be invited to touch someone's hair is basically laying your heart bare to say "I trust you completely" and to take that invitation is like saying "I will care for you forever."
So Cereza using her hair to repair Cheshire in CATLD??? HUGEEEEEEEEEE
Witches tend to keep their hair long. If they cut it short, it usually is out of grief (Jeanne's hair is short in Bayo 1 because of this) or to symbolize a new era of their lives (Bayo's hair is short in Bayo 2 because of this).
Their is also a ritual cutting of hair which I mention in this fic, which symbolizes the swearing in of a new leader of the Umbra. Witches cut a small lock of their hair and burn it together to show their trust in and loyalty to a new leader.
Another ritual is when a witch makes her first pact with an Infernal - generally whoever is the leader of the clan will grant said witch something to put in their hair/cover their hair with as a sign of respect and welcoming to the clan proper as a "full witch" (Jeanne's little golden nets were her gift from the Elder. Bayo's headcovering in flashbacks she made herself, but Jeanne stitched it and her whole outfit with gold <3)
So Madama Khepri is the 'Protector of Time' and her description says that she can determine a person's fate by gazing at their shadow. But I think it would be neat if she COMMUNICATES said fate by wrapping a witch in their own hair (just like we see with Bayo and Jeanne in Bayo 1/Bayo 2 respectively).
Speaking of, that hair wrapping we see Jeanne do for Bayo and then Bayo do for Jeanne when they are both almost dead/down for the count? It is actually the death ritual for witches. If their bodies are left behind when their souls are taken to Inferno, whatever witches were closest to them will wrap them up with their own hair and bury them. All the witches in those Lumen sealed caskets in the first game are entombed like this. Oof.
In CATLD we see Morgana's hair in horns, and Jeanne and Bayo's with little cat ears adorning their heads. I am going to say that such styles are usually youthful fads, and a way to teach witches how to control their hair with magic on a small scale before they start to use it for summoning. Once witches get older they tend not to do such styles anymore - Morgana is one of the rare exceptions, and keeps her hair in huge horns because she loved the style (in her youth, small horns were the fad. Other witches found her odd for never letting the style go.)
Most witches don't dye their hair or alter it majorly, outside of the rare haircut. The fact that Viola's hair is dyed would cause the witches of old to keel over and die LOL. (I hc that Viola's natural color is actually a light brown, so if she properly summoned a battle suit or an Infernal that would be the color of her hair despite the dye)
Okay. These are the main ones I can think of right now? I am currently working on a Morgana POV fic with her growing closer with others and letting go of grief through hair and trust actually, but it is pretty short and experimental and non canon compliant after a certain point, so.
You mentioned drawing!! AUGHHHHHHHH. Listen, listen - if you do feel any artistic inspiration from this, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DRAW WHATEVER. JUST SEND IT TO ME. AUGHHHHH.
I just love witches and their hair. Thank you for giving me the chance to ramble on like a madman about it. #normalmode

📓 also hi <3
Hello dear!
Tumblr media
#6 on my little list is "Pelor, sunrise, sunset and noon, rituals" which is to say thoughts about the use of sunlight and the sun's position in the sky for people of the Pelorian faith!
I've explored this a little already in my Delia AU with regards to baptisms - do you celebrate it at the dawn of a new day to mark the dawn of a new life, or do you do it at sunset, to protect the new member of the faith going into the dark? Similarly, marriage - dawn to indicate the start of a new stage of life, noon when the sun is at it's peak in the sky to indicate the peak of joy, or sunset, to carry sunlight into the darkness?
And... maybe it's the archaeologist in me, but I think it's perfectly possible that all are used, with the symbolism very important in that! How many children in Whitestone during the occupation might have been named and blessed at sunset, so they could carry that protective sunlight blessing into the dark, to keep them safe from the vampire spawn that roamed? How many married at sunset, to avoid the eye of the Briarwoods?
Similarly, while I think most funerals, especially burials, would be at sunset - to mark the closing of a life - I could also see cremations being done at noon - the body being burned up and so freeing the soul to fly up not just to the sun in the sky but up through the planes to Pelor in Elysium. (I wonder too if some fallen timber from the Sun Tree was burned, to guide the dead home.)
I imagine too, after the occupation, burial fell out of favour despite how prevalent it had historically been - the de Rolos buried their dead, but all the dead rose at the command of Delilah Briarwood. I think there'd be many years in which cremation - the cleansing, burning fire of the sun, rendering a body down to ash - was preferred even after Whitestone was freed.
I think if you wanted you could take cues from Ancient Egyptian worship of Ra, Khepri and even Aten and that'd certainly make for some fun worldbuilding but for me at least, I like to think specifically about the symbolism in the rituals more than the rituals necessarily themselves. Sunlight is such a powerful, encompassing concept, but sunlight casts a shadow and I think the options that presents are fun to explore!
send in “📓” and I’ll roll a d10 and ramble some worldbuilding thoughts

Still have those Nerevarine Taylor Hebert brainworms. The more I think about it and trawl through UESP, the more the coincidences and thematic parallels jump out at me. Sleep-deprived ramblings and massive spoilers below the cut.
Starting off, y'know how Gold Morning wraps up on June 24th? Let's see if that date has any significance on Nirn:
Tumblr media
Oh, okay. So, she suddenly appears in the dungeons beneath the Imperial City on Tiber's Day. Y'know, the day celebrating the Dragon Emperor. That might be relevant for the prophecy stating that the Nerevarine is "Dragon-born and far-star-marked." It also casts some iiiinteresting parallels between her and old Talos Stormcrown.
How about being born under a certain sign? Well, Taylor's birthday is canonically in June/Mid Year, which corresponds to the Steed constellation. Nothing too special there, right?
Tumblr media
Ah. Hm. The Dwemer, who are kind of a big deal when it comes to the plot of Morrowind, represented the Steed as a scarab. As you may recall, Taylor once rode a giant scarab beetle (best boy Atlas) as a steed. And, y'know, Khepri is a scarab-headed god in Egyptian mythology. The scarab imagery also appears repeatedly in the metaphysics of The Elder Scrolls, in things like the Thirty-Six Lessons of Vivec and the Mythic Dawn Commentaries. It also appears in Kirkbride's Notes on the Psijic Endeavor and Loveletter from the Fifth Era. This bears further inquiry.
The Psijic Endeavor is "a process by which mortals are charged with transcending the gods that created them," which sounds awfully familiar to those familiar with the ending of Worm. It formed the basis of the teachings of the Prophet Veloth, who led the ancient Chimer to the land of Morrowind. Its rules were taught to him by the daedra Boethiah, Mephala, and Azura. These are the "Three Good Daedra" revered by the Dunmer of Morrowind. In the Tribunal faith, they are seen as the Anticipations of the living gods Almalexia, Vivec, and Sotha Sil. But they also can be viewed as parallels of another.
Boethiah is the Daedric Prince "whose sphere is deceit and conspiracy, and the secret plots of murder, assassination, treason, and unlawful overthrow of authority." It is not a stretch to call him the Anticipation of Skitter, the thief-turned-warlord.
Mephala is known as The Webspinner, who taught the Dunmer "meticulous plotting and how to lie, ways to lure and trap our foes, how to manage complexity and predict outcomes." They are the Anticipation of Weaver, the scheming hero.
Azura is the Prince of Dusk and Dawn, and is "associated with mystery and magic, fate and prophecy." She is the Anticipation of Khepri, champion of the prophesied Gold Morning.
At this point, it's probably worth mentioning that the Tribunal, living god-hero-kings of Morrowind, first became such and usurped the Good Daedra in Dunmeri culture by siphoning power from the heart of a god. Meanwhile, the Triumvirate, the greatest heroes of Earth Bet, got their powers from the flesh of a dead Entity. And both trios concealed the nature of their power in order to present an image of unassailable strength, even as they grew fractured and weak. What a fun parallel!
Still, we're not here to talk about the Tribunal and the Triumvirate. Who cares about them? We're here to talk about Taylor Hebert, Lorkhan, and why Taylor is OBVIOUSLY a Shezarrine.
No, seriously, bear with me. Okay, so, Lorkhan (whose severed heart is at the root of the whole plot of of Morrowind) is said to walk the world of Nirn in mortal form. This mortal incarnation, the Shezarrine, appears in times of great need, "gathering armies, conquering lands, ruling, then abandoning his kingdoms to wander again." Famous appearances of the Shezarrine include Pelinal Whitestrake, Ysmir Wulfharth, and Tiber Septim. Yes, that Tiber Septim. The one upon whose day Taylor defeated Scion with a jury-rigged jailbroken superpower. The one who jury-rigged the soul of a Shezarrine into a power source for a weapon meant only to be powered by the physical heart of Lorkhan and used it to conquer the world.
Now, it might be a bit of a stretch to say that Taylor Hebert, parahuman teenager from Earth Bet, is the mortal incarnation of the Missing God. And yeah, she probably wasn't during the events of Worm. But in the metaphysics of The Elder Scrolls, there's this thing called mantling, wherein one can assume the role of another by "walk[ing] like them until they must walk like you." Essentially, one so closely emulates another being until the two are indistinguishable to the world at large. This is arguably what the protagonist of Morrowind does during the course of the game; by deliberately setting out to satisfy the conditions of the Nerevarine prophecies, they walk like the Nerevarine until they ARE the Nerevarine. And Taylor? Well, she's already done a LOT of walking like a Shezarrine.
Remember that bit about the scarab imagery earlier? Yeah, well, Lorkhan is explicitly called "the Scarab" in The Thirty-Six Lessons of Vivec, Sermon Ten. The Psijic Endeavor? Though spread by the Daedra, its originates from Lorkhan. He saw the whole of creation from a sideways angle, and sought to teach others so that they might one day do the same and "transcend mortal boundaries set in place by immortal rulers."
Scarab-headed Khepri transcended the limits imposed on her power, saw the whole of existence by way of the Clairvoyant, and raised an army of mortal parahumans to overthrough the "god" that made them. Her work done, she abandoned her kingdom to go wander again.
Anyways, I hope this was at least somewhat coherent for something written after an all-nighter of playing a twenty-year-old video game and diving deep into the UESP wiki and The Imperial Library. There are a fair few more things I wanna talk about, like how the daedra of the Four Corners of the House of Troubles tie into Taylor's journey in Worm, or the parallels between Scion during Gold Morning and the Numidium during C0DA, but I reeeeaaally should go sleep now.
To close things out, here's a pic of Taylor learning about all this mythic prophecy bullshit from Nibani Maesa, Wise Woman of the Urshilaku Ashlanders:

RP PET PEEVES/DEAL-BREAKERS: look, i don’t mind one-liners as long as i can take something in that one line and write with it. but if you’re just writing about your character? nothing that my muse can pick up or continue the thread with? doesn’t matter how many paragraphs you write, i can’t do anything with them.
MUSE PREFERENCES (FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT): angst all the fuckin way. I also like fluff but more as an aftercare or apology sort of thing.
PLOTS OR MEMES: m e m e s. I’m so awkward plotting, i much prefer spur-of-the-moment shit. though if you have something specific in mind, then, uh, specify please– but im fine with editing posts.
LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: long! there’s a lot of things to be said, and i like saying them all! lemme ramble on for a paragraph about the exact movements of my muse’s body, then let me take three other paragraphs for my muse to say something that could have been said in one line. all of my muses are very talkative.
BEST TIME TO WRITE: either bright and early as soon as i wake up, right before noon, or middle of the afternoon.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): uhm, kind of? Nikki in particular started off as a self-insert (cringe I know) but i managed to develop him past that. we’re both very socially awkward, oblivious, and overly trusting. me ‘n Papyrus are both very insecure and pretty philosophical. me and zephyr both like pushing people’s buttons lol–

you're mostly right about that whole girlboss thing, girlboss has sort of become a meaningless word because of all the potential conflicting meanings, but I really think you're wrong that one can't abuse/manipulate themself. That's very possible, I think, and I'd say that Taylor did it on basically every level throughout most of worm. It's like her major character flaw.
At the beginning it manifests as the abuse thing, most obviously how she's internalized all the abuse that Winslow gave her. Taylor's a freak, she's not normal, she's unlovable, she's toxic and disgusting. This is like her whole thing at first! It's not just like "oh she's got no self esteem" she's suicidal! and then especially as things get worse and taylor gets more violent and khepri-esque, she uses taylor hebert as a tool, just like she uses everyone else as a tool. Her control freak tendencies extend to her body and very sense of self. Like, look at those times she "centers herself" by reducing her human body that she lives in as just one more pip in her unfathomably massive swarm. I'm not an expert in abuse, not even a little, but what I'm trying to say is that taylor stops thinking of herself as, like, a human being, and more as a large bug in her expendable swarm.
I mean, really look at Khepri. Taylor has so few things left, and becoming Khepri deprives her of even these dregs. She can't read anymore, she can't speak anymore, she's destroyed the only friendships she had remaining, her last bits of morality she hadn't already strangled are finally murdered.
If you took the things that taylor does to herself and move it over so that she's, like, doing it to someone else, there would be no question over whether it was abuse. Like, if for some reason she made Lisa go to panacea and do the khepri thing, that would be without question the most monstrous thing she'd done and it would not even be close.
The definition of abuse is to treat a person or animal with cruelty or violence, especially regularly, and I think that perfectly describes how taylor treats herself throughout worm.
sorry for the rambling inarticulate monologue but I felt this was important
the phrase you are looking for is "self-destructive behaviors"--the google blurb that pops up if you search "definition of abuse" not specifying "can only be done to other people who aren't you" does not mean that the term "abuse" does not most commonly refer to a phenomena of intense power imbalance in a relationship wherein one person repeatedly harms the other person. when i say that someone cannot abuse themselves, i do not mean that the less common usage of the term wherein it refers to general harm cannot ever be applied to someone's treatment of themselves, i mean that one cannot be in an abusive relationship with themselves, which is how the person i was responding to was using the term. you cannot abuse or manipulate yourself because, in their most common usages, these words refer to a dynamic between separate people--saying that an abuse victim is abusing or manipulating themselves by engaging in unhealthy traumatized behaviors is extremely unclear phrasing w/ no use for accurately describing what's actually happening, and in many scenarios it's liable to be misread as an attempt to place blame on the victim for being the primary cause of harm to themselves. you're viewing the definition of a word through one very specific lens here and misunderstanding how it's actually most commonly used in reality

Very old art. These are Egyptian mythology based fan-characters I made for Egyxos.
Khepri and Amon (he's blue, because he's an Astral god and lives in space. That's how I explained it, the real reason is because the actual Amon from Egyptian myths is blue and I desided to keep him that skin colour otherwise he looked boring). Wanna redraw them and use as illustrations for my fanfic.
Tumblr media
Made a small progress. I almost digitalised him, but I'm thinking if I want his tunic to be yellow or black.
Tumblr media
I use my @mythology-geeks-blog for my Egyxos rambling so you wouldn't be confused, but it's my main ^^
OH I LOVE THIS! I WANT MORE PLEASE, MORE PLEASE!!!!!
Sorry if I look innative, I had a bad day, but is nothing to worry about.
Lol in my AU/fic Amon and Khepri are Exaton and Kefer's uncles 🤣 Amon is Ra's brother while Khepri is a really good family friend.

I will never fucking be over Speck. We all watched the girl we spent 1.6 million words with, that we saw grow and fight and bleed and never give up, slowly and noticeably degrade and become a paranoid hollow shell of her former self. She slowly lost her ability to speak, read, write, comprehend words, or read body language, and everything she lost made her break down more with the realization. So many themes reached their peak, from Taylor's desire to throw herself away and burn up for a good cause, to her willingness to commit truly horrifying acts for the greater good, to her desire for everyone to just fucking band together and put aside their differences against a common foe. There's so many amazing moments like Lisa verbally eviscerating her, to the breakdown when she thinks she killed Dragon, to her handing Dinah the "I'm sorry" note before taking control of her. And I haven't even gotten into the ever increasing connection between her and her passenger and how damn well that was done, or the way her thoughts become shaky and unhinged, or the conversation at the end with Contessa, or the way Rachel steps into her radius because she trusts her, or Aisha singing the entire time and comforting Taylor as she unravels. I swear to god I barely covered half of what I love about Speck in this post, it has so much and it's the perfect ending to the such an interesting character and story. It's genuinely my favorite piece of writing ever, I have not once managed to read it without crying. She tries so fucking hard and in her infinite determination and disregard for herself she kills god. God it's so good.

❀ || THANKS TO @bxstiae‘s meta (Go read it, it’s long but a goodie), I wanted to lay down some Hero’s Shade personal headcanons stuff here !!
Some of this is directly taken from my Hero’s Shade verse, ‘Guardian of Time’, but I wanted to elaborate more on it with some thoughts and general ramblings
Prelude: After Link fell in battle, his spirit clung to the very earth he swore to protect, refusing to move on until he fulfilled his duty. This lead to the hero’s soul fragmenting, leaving behind bits and pieces on special parts of the land for one worthy of finding them.
It was the hero of Twilight that happened upon them, the missing pieces of his soul calling out to him. For each soul fragment found, the hero of time passed down a skill to his successor, and one by one the hero’s soul was completed. Finally, Time could rest easy and enjoy peace along with the heroes of past.
What he hadn’t expected was to be met with a very conscious existence, in a place that was indescribable but peaceful, a gentle whiteness with ever shifting scenery. It was there that he met his ancestors, heroes of the past, and his past incarnations. It is there that they relax, converse, and watch over the newest hero on their journey, and it is there that they wait to greet the next hero who joins their ranks with open arms and words of comfort.
Of course, one could say it was fate or destiny for it to be the Hero of Twilight to find these lingering fragments of the hero’s soul. I think that only the person bearing the hero’s soul would be able to, in fact, find these. It’s important and imperative that they do. Khepri brought up some excellent points that made me want to expand a bit on Shade’s/Time’s behavior, particularly his impatience and no nonsense attitude.
In his timeline, the one he was sent back to and grew up in, the Hero of Time didn’t slay Ganondorf. He was brought to justice legally by the royal family and was sent to the Twilight Realm. This is all stated in actual canon. I like to think of Time eventually joining the ranks of Knighthood, going through the motions of a false sense of security and peace, until the inevitable escape and rekindled rampage of Ganondorf, to which Time meets his eventual early death.
Time never slayed Ganondorf in this timeline.      Let me restate that.           Time never slayed Ganondorf in this timeline.
It was a mistake that cost him his life and the lives of many others on that day, plus, the eventual fall of darkness and twilight upon the land of Hyrule centuries later. He feels responsible for everything to happen, not only to the future Hyrule, but to the Hero of Twilight. Twi never needed to endure what he did, if only he’d done what he was supposed to do. It’s silly to think about, in hindsight, for destiny and fate act however they please, but it’s how he’s come to think of it. He feels guilty and responsible for this complete stranger who shares a soul with him, having to go through the same bullshit he had to when he was 10 years old, and it pisses him off so much and hurts him.
He’s impatient with Twi’s mess-up’s and time placed in learning the skills, because he NEEDS Twi to learn what he could not teach others in order to protect the people of Hyrule, yes, but mostly so Twi can protect HIMSELF.
Twi NEEDS to slay Ganondorf; For Hyrule, and for himself. He NEEDS to.
There’s so much expectancy and urgency riding on Twi’s shoulders that not even he knows, because it’s all on Time’s end.
A hero’s afterlife: The hero of time is constantly observing the lives of the newest hero alongside his past lives, watching over them and hoping the best for them. Having achieved this task before, Link is able to manifest himself to newer heroes in many different ways, through dreams, passing thoughts, or even physically. This all depends on the connection the current hero has with their spiritual self.
It is also possible for someone random to manifest the hero, again, so long as their spiritual connect and desire is strong enough. This task, however, is very draining since he must disconnect himself from the main hero– a fragment of the soul parting for this encounter to happen.
During meetings with the heroes, Time is the only one able to appear before them, the other’s voices being muffled, echoed messes in the distance, Time enacting as their emissary. Again, it is all very dependent on the hero’s spiritual connection as to how long these interactions go, or in what way the hero of time is able to communicate with them.
Although wise and undeniably mature, the hero of time still displays his childish ways. It’s to be expected from someone who is able to return to his childlike form, often using it to hide from unwanted attention or tasks from the others. The heroes are like a family of misfits, and Time would be lying if he said he didn’t enjoy every moment of this eternity with them.
Essentially I tried to find some sorta magical excuse to interact with other timeline muses, and while I actually never knew about linkeduniverse at the time of writing this verse up a whole-ass five years ago, it’s always been an appealing idea to me to have all the Links in the chain of the hero’s soul interact.
Time, being a rare case in the reincarnation cycle to have experienced a multitude of world-saving adventures in different stages of his life, feels a sort of disconnect with his aging process. He felt like a child in a teenager’s body; He felt like an adult in a child’s body; He felt like ageless soul in an adult’s body. It’s all fruity in the loops for him, and as such, his physical appearance can change ranging anywhere from his child form, to the day he died.
Also, it all depends on how connected and willing/stable his host is.
I sometimes describe his face ”flickering from a ghastly grin” and that’s not waxing poetic. His face is literally shifting from a normal flesh and blood looking one, to his Shade skeletal appearance. If the host is emotionally turbulent, or just can’t supply him with the connection/energy needed to stay, he will flicker or be a Stalfos/Skeleton entirely, and his voice may not be heard clearly.
Essentially, depending on how willing they are in letting him stay, then he’ll stay. I would like to think this would INCLUDE his host’s WILLINGNESS in letting him go.
Okay this got long so rambling OVER-- for now ♡

What do you think Meretseger would feel about modern archaeologists excavating tombs? I ask because I’m studying archaeology now, and I’m afraid of it conflicting with being kemetic. Do you think she understands that we’re not grave robbers, but rather we’re trying to save abd learn as much about her culture as possible?
Hello,
I studied Egyptology so I’ve given this a fair bit of thought. I cannot speak for Meretserger, of course, so for the most complete answer it is probably best to ask her directly.
So I will start my answer with the prince who would become Thutmose IV. He was walking along and discovered the Great Sphinx, covered in sand and damaged. Later he had a dream that told him to uncover it and he would become king. He did this, and become king. I bring him up, because he left the Dream Stele between the Sphinx paws recounting this and I have heard him referred to as the ‘first archaeologist’. And on the dream stele we see Thutmose IV making offerings to the Sphinx [and Horemakhet-Khepri-Ra-Atum].
☀️ so at least once in Egyptian history the gods have asked for the past to be uncovered.
☀️☀️☀️
Meretseger is a local deity who protected the Theben Necropolis, and was worshipped in Deir el-Medina (the workers village). It is from the workers village that we have most evidence of her worship. She was there to protect the tombs from grave robbers, but also had strong relationships with the workers. For example in the case of Neferabu, he transgressed against the goddess and was blinded for it. But, he asks for forgiveness and is given his site back.
☀️ I don’t believe the Meretseger is irrational or cruel. She is known for her forgiving nature. If she believed that archaeology was the same as grave robbing, I think you could ask her forgiveness.
☀️☀️☀️
Then I think about what the purpose of Ancient Egyptian tombs was? To protect the body, provide the body with offerings and create a place where the descendants could remember their names. Since, their descendants no longer use the Akhu shrines and temples… unfortunately being uncovered and transferred to a museum is probably the best shot at being remembered in the 21st century. It isn’t ideal … but we work with what we have.
So if you find yourself in a tomb:
☀️ be respectful☀️ learn the voice offering in Egyptian and recite it when you enter ☀️ say the dead’s name aloud - Their ‘ren’ has survived and it should be spoken. If nothing else, I think Meretseger would want that for the people she protects.
☀️☀️☀️
I don’t consider archaeology to be the same as grave robbing, but there are things you can do to make archaeology more Ma’at:
Work respectfully, this is luckily becoming a bit things in archaeology and museums. Holders of collections are becoming more aware of how they were acquired and how they should be treated culturally.
Remember that even Flindes Petrie, the ‘’father of modern egyptology’’ threw back imperfect ancient pots which damaged countless objects that had survived mostly complete for thousands of years.
The ‘rule’ I gave myself is that - you are working for yourself, and must work to the best of your ability. You are working for the past, and so you must restore more than you take. You are working for the future, do nothing that in 200 years will be seen as smash and grab techniques, if you cannot do something perfectly wait for the technology to get better.
☀️☀️☀️
I’m not 100% sure if I answered your question, but I hope my ramblings were helpful. These are my views on the subject, as I cannot speak for Meretseger. I think you could make offerings to her and ask for her help.
I’ve written this quite quickly, so do let me know if anything doesn’t make sense!

Magick without tears liveblog
Letter A, Letter B
Onwards to Letter C!
I am arranging to send you the official papers connected with the O.T.O., but the idea that you should meet other members first is quite impossible. Even after affiliation, you would not meet anyone unless it were necessary for you to work in cooperation with them. I am afraid you have still got the idea that the Great Work is a tea-party. Contact with other students only means that you criticise their hats, and then their morals; and I am not going to encourage this.
But what if they can explain it better than you? What if progress moves faster with multiple people working toward the same goal? What if a free exchange of ideas with other like-minded people sparks an insight? What if she could use the help?
Also, who gives a shit about their hats?
Your work is not anybody else's; and undirected chatter is the worst poisonous element in human society.
So direct it, you idiot! Have classes & meetings focusing on particular topics! Ya know, like school!
The Great Work is the uniting of opposites. It may mean the uniting of the soul with God, of the microcosm with the macrocosm, of the female with the male, of the ego with the non-ego—or what not.
Ok, good. This is actual solid theory! I’m going to side-eye his female vs male thing in regards to trans/non-binary/genderfluid folk, but he hasn’t necessarily said anything hugely insulting yet, so letting it go, but...
Tumblr media
By "love under will" one refers to the fact that the method in every case is love, by which is meant the uniting of opposites as above stated, such as hydrogen and chlorine, sodium and oxygen, and so on. Any reaction whatever, any phenomenon, is a phenomenon of "love", as you will understand when I come to explain to you the meaning of the word "Point-Event". But love has to be "under will," if it is to be properly directed. You must find your True Will, and make all your actions subservient to the one great purpose.
Oh Good! He does actually explain! ...kinda. Some of that is just science. I’m hesitant about categorizing any time two things combine as “love.” But “Point-event” has promise in that regard. I do wish he’d explain better about the True Will and great purpose he’s always on about, but maybe give it time.
Ra-Hoor is the Sun God; Tahuti is the Egyptian Mercury; Kephra is the Sun at midnight.
HA! SEE! THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD’VE INCLUDED BEFORE!
But at least you got around to it eventually.
And he’s wrong, btw. Kephra/Khepri is Sun at morning & midday while Tum/Atum is the Sun at evening & night. Admittedly, Egyptology was still very very shitty at this point in time, so honest mistake. Still a mistake tho.
About your problems; what I have to do is to try to teach you to think clearly. You will be immensely stimulated by having all the useless trimmings stripped from your thinking apparatus. For instance, I don't think you know the first principles of logic.
So teach her, bruh! Don’t just make her feel bad about shit and then saunter on out! Also, not everyone gets taught the principles of logic (Howdy, it me!), so if you think it’s a horrible failing, go help!
You apparently take up a more or less Christian attitude, but at the same time you like very much the idea of Karma. You cannot have both.
Ok, this I like. But not from him.
He’s already smashed together Egyptian, Buddhist, Judaic, Zoroastrian, Taoist, and Islamic thought! He is so not one to talk!
But he’s got a point that mixing your metaphors and systems of belief gets... complicated real fast. Picking a paradigm and sticking with it is probably a better way to go.
This old and very good rule (which I have always kept) was really pertinent to the time when there were actual secrets. But I have published openly all the secrets. All I can do is to train you in a perfectly exoteric way.
So what’s the difference between how you teach people when everyone can know things vs when only a few people can know things? Wouldn’t you have to teach in any case? I think he just misses the secrecy and spoopyness!

Tumblr media
Your questions about the Spirit of the Sun, and so on, are to be answered by experience. Intellectual satisfaction is worthless. I have to bring you to a state of mind completely superior to the mechanism of the normal mind.
Oh yeah, cuz understanding something with your brain never helped anyone actually accomplish something, right?!?! Some of us have to intellectually understand things first! And way to be unspecific about the superior state of mind nonsense!

A good deal of your letter is rather difficult to answer. You always seem to want to put the cart before the horse. Don't you see that, if I were trying to get you to do something or other, I should simply return you to the kind of answer which I thought would satisfy you, and make you happy? And this would be very easy to do because you have got no clear ideas about anything.

You, sir, are horrendously insulting! If your student has “no clear ideas about anything” whose responsibility is it to clarify? IT’S YOURS!!!!
Plus, you tell her to go with her instincts, forget about intellectual understanding, and not think about things. Then when she asks you what to do exactly, you berate her about having no clear ideas and that you don’t want to give her just whatever answer will satisfy her!
As you say above, you cannot have both.
For one thing, you keep on using terms about whose significance we are not yet in agreement. When you talk about the "Christian path," do you believe in vicarious atonement and eternal damnation—or don't you? A great deal of the confusion that arises in all these questions, and grows constantly worse as fellow-students talk them over—the blind leading the blind—is because they have no idea of the necessity of defining their terms.
Ok, this is actually a good point. Defining your terms is actually important. Which, hopefully, means he’s going to get around to defining how he’s using “love” and “will” and all that. Because, as he himself points out, confusion becomes worse when terms go undefined.
Then again, you ask me questions like "What is purity?" that can be answered in a dozen different ways; and you must understand what is meant by a "universe of discourse." If you asked me—"Is this sample of chloride of gold a pure sample?" I can answer you. You must understand the value of precision in speech. I could go on rambling about purity and selflessness for years, and no one would be a penny the better.
Tumblr media
She’s asking you what is purity because she wants to know how you’re defining the term, dumbass! She is, right there, doing the exact thing you warned her about in the paragraph before, and now you don’t want to actually get down to it and define your terms because “no one would be a penny the better.”
Bullshit.
This is some creepy gaslighting tactics right here! Breaking down her intelligence, telling her to define terms, then refusing to define terms! It’s despicable.
P.S.—or rather, I did not want to dictate this bit—Your ideas about the O.T.O. remind me of some women's idea of shopping. You want to maul about the stock and then walk out with a proud glad smile: NO. Do you really think that I should muster all the most distinguished people alive for your inspection and approval?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
YES!!!! AND MUSTER UP THE DEAD ONES TOO!!!!! THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING!!!! BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT TEACHING IS!!!!! TELL ME WHAT THEY SAID, TELL ME HOW THEY PROVED IT, AND FUCKING CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE IT’S ALL MADE-UP BULLSHIT!!!!
The affiliation clause in our Constitution is a privilege: a courtesy to a sympathetic body. Were you not a Mason, or Co-Mason, you would have to be proposed and seconded, and then examined by savage Inquisitors; and then—probably—thrown out on to the garbage heap. Well, no, it's not as bad as that; but we certainly don't want anybody who chooses to apply. Would you do it yourself, if you were on the Committee of a Club? The O.T.O. is a serious body, engaged on a work of Cosmic scope. You should question yourself: what can I contribute?
Heck yes, I would take people who chose to apply! It proves that they care and actually want to join the damn thing! Otherwise you fill the place with people who don’t really give a shit and who don’t have a stake in anything! People who care are more motivated to work, and work hard!
Tumblr media
Secrets. There is one exception to what I have said about publishing everything: that is, the ultimate secret of the O.T.O. This is really too dangerous to disclose; but the safeguard is that you could not use it if you knew it, unless you were an advanced Adept; and you would not be allowed to go so far unless we were satisfied that you were sincerely devoted to the Great Work. (See One Star in Sight). True, the Black Brothers could use it; but they would only destroy themselves.
Then why is it a secret, HMMMMMM?!?!?!?
Either: 1. couldn’t use it anyway (not advanced Adept) or 2. Black Brother (destroys themselves) or 3. ACTUALLY GODDAMN HELPFUL!!!!
So glad this is the end of the letter cuz I need a break from this guy for a bit!
