imo kevrenee as a dynamic is very very underexplored. hear me out: kevin, the absolute asshole that no one in the team can bear to be around, aka "its rotten work", x renee, who believes that everyone can be forgiven, or "not to me, not if it's you" ofc thats only at the surface level. but,

also in the first jeanee scene at the banquet, when renee introduced herself to jean, right after the ravens cornered kevin, neil and andrew. renee just looped her arm in kevin's out of literally nowhere??? and kevin had no reaction, despite being hyper vigilant because the ravens were around??? you cant tell me that we arent missing something there.

THERE IS SOMETHING MAGICAL IN THE AIR. kevjeanee........... the seed has been planted. i do really think renee would let kevin have an outlet i think she'd let him talk about history even if she's not actually listening :) it's not her fault she's not listening he has a lot to say and she has a very short attention span. in return kevin listens to her talk about whatever silly little thing she's interested in and then also religion and he LISTENS bc its interesting to him both as a historian and as a Catholic ? let's discuss

WHEHE well obviously its kevseth to me im too invested in the lore i made up in my head with @rabidfoxt to ever actually answer anything else when it comes to absolute favorite, i think hardly any other interactions in the book beat "i'm sick of him getting everything he wants because he's kevin day". like the jealousy! the tension! the hatred! the resentment! you have everything i want and i dont know what id do with myself if i wanted you too. you couldnt believe in me if you tried so i will make you hate me before you can get to that conclusion yourself. tfc, neil says that the only person kevin didnt piss off on court was renee. i like to interpret that as kevin trying to push people away with his arrogance but renee sees through it :)

THEN at the banquet, kevin, who we know is riddled with anxiety from the nest, ever so hypervigilant and aware of his surroundings, that kevin LET RENEE HOOK HER ARM IN HIS??? not to mention he was extremely vulnerable at this time, given the fact that he was facing his ex-teammates after so long, and then that happened????

finally, when renee kidnapped jean, neil asked kevin to ask jean to stay, but kev was like no, but THEN renee asked him and he's like ofc :)

in reference to your kevrenee post first thank you for those thoughts i have never considered them as a ship but also please have you ever thought about kevin/renee/allison…bc personally i think renee could fix kevin while allison could make him worse and all together??? who knows..

OH YEAH REAL allison and kevin would absolutely be the i miss screaming and fighting and kissing in the rain ship of aftg !! i think people forget that allison (not unlike andrew) has a billion bad habits that go from gambling to disordered eating to overdrinking to retail therapy and more, and that she WOULD drive kevin up the wall with all the situations she puts herself in because of those habits. so really she would just be kevins third I Can Fix Her project

he will eventually find that he cant fix her. but i think by then he will already have started caring about her too much to actually leave it as it is, and i can see a lot of tender loving care (agh!) forming at that acceptance that allison is a person worth looking out for + someone he actually wants to see sane and happy and healthy.

im reminded of nora sakavic (?!) saying kevin doesnt like it when allison wears heels that are too high because hes afraid of her hurting her ankle. i think perhaps kevin cares a lot about allisons wellbeing. i think he would believe in her as wholeheartedly as he believes in andrew and neil and jean, and he would be the first person to do so

kevin and renee don’t have many big moments in the books i don’t think but there are some painfully domestic or sweet parts like during andrew’s stay in easthaven when kevin and renee (and nicky) slept together on the floor (which i’ve deluded myself into thinking is kevrenee content). also when she meets jean for the first time she has her arm locked with kevin’s :) and she’s the only fox kevin allows to hug him (or at least the first who tries) :) and her begging for his help when she was going to take jean… this is just off the top of my head but i believe they would be good because renee is very reliable and strong and i think when she lets more edge shine through kevin would be really enamored by her :)!

i know you have a catholic jean streak but i also love for kevin and renee a bonding moment because i believe kayleigh was catholic 🤏 my reasoning for this is that during the kathy interview neil notes kevin audibly praying under his breath (adorable to me). so i think she could also get him to reconnect with faith and the idea of a religious community as a whole…. renee is like if andrew was a better influence and a lot more charming

i am all for catholic Everyone. sits next to you :) the thing about kevjeanee housekeeping/accounting is that while kevin is not dyslexic like jeanee i fear that he is not good at math either..... i think he's probably Better at it than jean and renee but he's not of much help i don't think........ last year i overpaid my credit card at least four times because im bad at math so i think kevin would be like that. they trust him and he's basically giving their money for free to the bank. jean (grew up poor in my mind) would be furious. but if they put their three thinking heads together they can surely come up with something!

i like chronic migraines for jean i think he's very bruised bird shot from the sky etc no matter what nothing really works for him........ and he can do something dramatic like drop to the floor like an unwound doll and put his head on kevins or renees lap..... and its ok because puppies do these things....!! in a way i think the most fun of kevjeanee is the potential for hovering + doting for jean it presents because its like two of his biggest supporters.
