Guardian Angel - Spencer Reid
Tumblr media
TW: depression, post-partum depression, mentions of miscarriage, suicide attempt
A/N: So I don’t exactly know where this idea came from, but wherever it did, I’m glad it came. It’s a really long one, and really really sad. I spent almost 2 weeks on it, so I hope you guys enjoy!
He should have noticed. He shouldn’t have ignored the signs; the resentment that you held towards the small human bundled in his arms, the quietness, the reluctance to do anything that involved getting out of bed. He was a profiler for god’s sake. So how didn’t he see this coming?
“Dr. Reid, may I suggest you go home? She won’t be awake for another day at least, and you need rest.” The nurse pressured him as she checked your vitals, examining the machine that was pumping saline into your body.
“Statistically speaking, a normal person can remain awake for 24 hours before serious side effects are exhibited.” Reid mumbled back to the nurse, glancing down at the sleeping baby in his arms.
“I understand that you are a genius Dr. Reid. However, these are different circumstances, and if you were thinking logically, you would understand that your statistics are not reasonable.” Spencer sighed angrily, he knew she was right, there was nothing right about his statistics or reasoning.
“At least have someone come take care of the child. Maybe a close friend or family member? They could bring you some stuff too.” The nurse suggested, motioning towards the bundle who was slowly beginning to awaken. “I’ll be back in an hour to check on your wife, Doctor.” She exited the room swiftly, her footsteps barely audible in the quiet room. If he didn’t hear the door closing gently, he would have thought he imagined the whole thing.
The nurse was right, caring for both you and the baby was hard, and he wasn’t equipped to care for the baby in the small hospital room. Fumbling around in his jacket pocket, he withdrew his phone, that already had a picture of you and your daughter displayed. He smiled gently, almost forgetting everything that was happening around him at the expression on your face. It wasn’t always like this.
After pressing a few buttons, he held his phone to his ear, gently rocking the now fussy baby with his other arm. The dial tone seemed to last forever as he waited for the recipient to answer the phone.
“JJ,” Spencer breathed out as soon as she picked up the phone. “I need a favour,” the sound of shuffling and hushing in the background almost made him relieved.
“Spence, what is it?” JJ’s calming voice crackled over the phone; he could hear his teammates chatting in the background. The voices faded as she stepped away from the group that had gathered around, hoping to hear from Spencer.
“Can you come take Leah? Something is wrong with Y/N, and I just need someone to take care of Leah for me. You’re the person I trust most.” JJ audibly gasped. She knew it was serious, just not serious enough for Spencer to part with Leah. Glancing back at the group, she saw their worried expression, who watched carefully as she shoved stuff into her bag and left the bullpen.
“Okay, where are you?”
*****
“I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this,” Spencer breathed a sigh of relief as he handed the bundle of blankets to JJ. Somewhere in which, his daughter was sleeping peacefully.
“Of course, it’s not worries Spencer. It’s serious isn’t it? I mean, Y/N is here, and you didn’t even tell Hotch you weren’t coming into work.” Spencer looked back at the door warily before nodding at JJ, who was gently rocking the baby.
“Post-partum depression. I found her yesterday after work, called the ambulance. I’ve been here since.” She sighed sadly, looking down at the baby before back at Spencer, grabbing his hand in hers.
“Don’t blame yourself for this, you did nothing wrong.” She reassured, rubbing his hand with her thumb. He nodded knowingly, he knew he did nothing wrong, but deep down he couldn’t stop blaming himself for not noticing sooner. “I’ll call Hotch for you, try to get some rest okay?” JJ smiled gently, “call me if you need anything.”
Spencer watched as JJ loaded his daughter into the baby seat in her car, thanking his previous self for remembering to grab the car seat in the rush. Minutes later, he was waving goodbye to JJ and walking back in the hospital doors, with his cardigan pulled tightly around his thin frame.
Upon returning to your room, he saw that you were still sleeping peacefully. Admittedly, this was the most peaceful he had seen you since Leah had been born, which created a painful ache in his chest.
How long had you been suffering on your own? Did you cry alone at night when he was gone on cases? What did you feel towards the small girl who grew in your stomach for 9 months? Did you love her? Hate her? Have no feelings about her?
He couldn’t blame you, how could he? He knew what post-partum depression was. It wasn’t your fault. But he also knew he didn’t help you.
Instead he was infatuated with his daughter, spending most of his hours at home with her. His excuse? He wanted to give you a break, let you rest from being a mother constantly. By doing so, he unintentionally ignored you, left you to your own mind.
It’s not anybody’s fault, the doctor’s mantra replayed in his mind. When you were first brought in, the doctor almost immediately diagnosed you, despite you being unconscious. All of the signs were there, and there was no denying it. Spencer had questioned a few things, he knew of post-partum depression, and what it was. But even he had to admit, he didn’t know everything.
Resting his head on his hand, he allowed himself to slowly drift off into a light doze.
*****
The steady beeping of a machine.
The lights that shined brightly even through your closed eyelids.
The offensive smell of sanitiser that invaded your nostrils.
Those were the first things you noticed as you began to drift towards consciousness. Everything was fuzzy, unfamiliar, your mind clouded as you began to panic from the confusion. Where are you?
You didn’t notice the beeping increase slowly, or the shadow cast from the nurse standing beside you. All you could notice was the dense fog that clouded your mind.
“Mrs. Reid,” a voice coaxed, guiding you through the fog with a bright lamp. The person holding the lamp was a little girl, that looked almost exactly like Spencer, just younger, and with longer hair. “Mrs. Reid, are you there?” You chased after the girl, slowly becoming aware of your surroundings in the dark forest. This makes no sense, you thought to yourself as you spun in a slow circle.
“Slowly becoming aware…coming out of consciousness…dreaming…Dr. Hamid.” You only caught fragments of the conversation, still confused about your location. The little girl was now gone, plunged back into darkness you noticed how cold the ground underneath your feet was, how damp the packed dirt felt.
And then the ground fell out beneath you, as you tumbled through the darkness.
*****
“Dr. Reid,” the nurse jogged up to a very exhausted Reid, who was nursing a badly-made coffee between his hands. “We have good news, Y/N has been drifting in and out of consciousness for a few hours now. She is still very drowsy, but we have managed to get some motor functions out of her, mostly eye flickering and little hand movements. But this is good, really good.” Spencer smiled widely, you were making progress, coming back to him, to Leah.
The white walls of the hospital corridor seemed a bit brighter as he followed the nurse down the hallway. If he didn’t know better, he’d call it a hopeful white – compared to the dull colour that he saw before hearing the good news. But he was a profiler, he knew better, the psychology. He was a profiler, but he missed the signs that led to this. Not a very good profiler, apparently.
Your body still laid relaxed in the bed, your dark hair and blue gown contrasting brightly against the clean white sheets. Spencer revelled in how peaceful you look, it reminded him of the first time he realised he loved you. You had spent the night at his place after a rough case, he had spent half of the night trying to sleep, but instead watching how peaceful you were when you slept. That night, before he fell asleep, he gently mumbled that he loved you, and watched as your lips called into a small smile.
“I love you,” he mumbled, hopeful to get a reaction from you. For a second, he could have sworn that he saw your lips twitch upwards, which ignited a fire in his heart. A fire of hope.
“Y/N, I know you’re there somewhere. I’m so sorry I didn’t notice anything. But I need you to pull through. Leah needs you to pull through.” He begged, holding your cold hand tightly in his own. “Please,” he whimpered.
This time when the light appeared again, you were now faced with a very dimly lit hallway, with no apparent end. The young girl stood beside you, her brown curly hair contrasting distinctly against her pale skin and white dress. She held the same lamp, which shone light onto the walls – which had small etchings for as far as you could see.
Curious, you stepped closer to the wall, trying to see what the etchings meant. But all you could see were tiny letters, which you couldn’t read.
“Come on, we need to go.” The girl grabbed your hand, her palm cold against yours. She turned, and walked down the hallway, pulling you along until you fell into step with her.
“These words… what do they mean?” You asked as you walked down the hallway, which gradually lightened in front of you with each step.
“They’re a story, your story more specifically. Don’t you recognise this place?” You shook your head, confused as to what she meant. “It’s your head, the deepest, darkest part of your mind.” She explained, pointing to all of the words on the wall. “This is your story, your memories, everything you’ve ever seen or done, whether or not you remember it. It’s you, Y/N.” Reaching out, you let your hands run over the small bumps as you walked.
“Wait, so if this is everything in my life, who are you?” You questioned, glancing down at the young girl, who looked eerily familiar.
“I’m Annalise,” your jaw dropped to the floor as your face fell. “I suppose you wouldn’t recognise me, you never got to meet me, mum.” Painful memories flooded your mind, your daughter, the one you never met, never held. The one who slipped away too quickly.
“Wha-? How?” The words tumbled out of your mouth; your lips numb as your stared at her.
“I’m your guardian angel. When I died, I became your guardian angel.” Her lips tugged upwards slightly, pulling into a small smile.
“I-I’m so sorry,” you sobbed, the tears immediately streaming from your eyes. Sobs wracked your chest painfully as you doubled over, falling to your knees.
“Don’t apologise mum,” her hand touched your cheek, igniting your skin. “It wasn’t your fault,” she reassured. “I just wasn’t meant to be,” her hand brushed back the locks that had fallen in front of your face.
“Did it hurt?” You asked, relieved as she shook her head gently.
“Not even a little bit.” You smiled through the tears; she didn’t suffer. “Come on, let’s keep going. I want to tell you some stuff.”
You pulled her into a hug, sniffling as you smelled Spencer’s shampoo on her. Grabbing her hand, you pulled yourself into a standing position, smoothing out your nightgown before following her further down the hallway once again.
“All of your family and friends wanted to say hello when they heard where you are. Especially your dad, he was once your guardian, until I came along of course. He said he is so proud of you, for everthing you have accomplished and overcome.” Tears welled in your eyes again at the thought of your father, the man who had taught you everything there was to know about life. “Grandpa trained me, he raised me to be the best guardian angel to you.”
“What is it like up there?” You questioned, pointing towards the ceiling. She smiled apologetically at you.
You hardly believed in heaven, but this, you hoped was a sign. Since childhood, you had prayed to whatever higher being, whether a person or the stars, that there was something after death. This was your sign, of a home, a place to belong after death. And not just the dark abyss of simply not existing anymore.
“It’s the most beautiful place, one big family…. But you don’t belong there, not yet.” She said, sensing your excitement, your relief.
“What do you mean?” You questioned; looking around, you noticed the words had finished, now just plain walls on either side. “Where are the words?” She pointed towards the darkness with the lamp, a door was standing at the end of the hallway.
“The story isn’t finished yet. They don’t exist, because they haven’t been written yet.” She explained, her voice thick as she spoke. “I never got to meet you mum, not properly. It was always my biggest dream to meet you, to get to know you. But this isn’t the way, nor the time.” Tears started falling from your eyes in big drops, running down your cheeks. “You need to go home, to daddy, to Leah.” Glancing at the door, you looked back at your daughter, she was a picture copy of Spencer.
“Will I get to see you again?” She nodded with a smile.
“I’m always here, whenever you need, I’ll guide you. And when it’s time, we will meet again.”
Turning to the door, you placed your hand on the cool knob, turning it before stepping into the light.
*****
Bright lights blinded you as you stared up at the white ceiling. Warmth surrounded you, sinking deep into your bones, to your heart. You closed your eyes blissfully, relishing in the warmth. The air smelled clean, almost too clean. Quiet chatter could be heard in the background. But you still relished in the warmth that surrounded you.
“Y/N?” Spencer’s voice broke the silence, forcing you to open your eyes. “Y/N?” He jumped up, crowding over you as he stared into your eyes. “Oh my god, you’re okay.” Pulling you into a tight hug, he shook as he cried, his tears staining your gown.
You’re okay.

»»————- <<prev | next >> ————-««
The road fell away in front of you as you scrolled mindlessly on your phone. After a round of brusque insistence on his behalf, you'd finally given in and let Seokjin convince you into relinquishing the driver's seat after a couple of hours on the road. You made sure to grumble in protest before plonking yourself down on the passenger side, him brushing you off easily.
You’d put the memory of the thoughtless kiss to the back of your mind, hoping that he’d forgotten just as swiftly. You were here to enjoy your trip, not to overthink about what had happened in the past. Thinking back on the past 24 hours, you sighed in defeat.
Let’s hope we don’t crash.
*hours earlier*
You both arrived at the meeting place after countless attempts of stuttering out the most confusing directions to the driver. At this point, you almost wanted to pass out and it was still relatively early.
Managing to greet all your aunties, uncles, and cousins as a couple of lovebirds came effortlessly enough. It was nothing but a way of life for you and Seokjin these days.
“(Y/n) you’ve grown so much. Oh, I’m going to cry!”
You tried to calm one of your more eccentric aunties while your husband stood awkwardly to the side, looking around at the gathered group of people in contemplation. Dressed casually again, he hadn’t been prepared for the sheer number of everyday individuals preparing to depart. All beside a line of large black and white motorhomes which were currently fuelling up under the shade of nearby woodland.
Once the two of you finally managed to break away from the introductions and reunions, you let out a sigh of relief. You were finally alone, sinking into the refurbished leather seats of the vehicle to regain your composure. Dealing with a horde of chipper relatives can deplete one’s energy like a starved leech if it continues for too long.
“Sorry, they’re just excited.” You laughed airily, leaning forward to switch on the air conditioner. The temperature outside was already heating up from the unforgiving sun, and you were going to positively drown in sweat if you didn’t get some cold air blasting on you lickety-split.
“They’re…lively. But it’s okay, I signed up for it anyway,” the tall man replied with a smirk of his own. He seemed amused at how quickly you'd been swamped, but he also seemed to notice how happy you were at receiving all the attention.
“The first one will probably leave soon. I’ll start driving and then if you want you can switch with me later. We won’t make it to the first stop today, but it’ll most likely end up being late tomorrow morning,” you explained while readying yourself at the wheel of the vehicle. Seokjin hummed in acknowledgement and craned his long neck backwards to ensure your bags were all safe a secure.
You admired how comfortable he looked in his simple travelling clothes. How he could pull off such a simple but effective appearance that highlighted his handsome features, such as his dusky brown eyes and midnight coloured locks of hair - hair that had grown out and gotten nicely longer, you might add - was a complete and utter mystery to you.
“By the way, we don’t have to put on as much of an act here with these people,” you began on a weirdly sombre note, trying not to look over at him for a reaction. “The whole relationship thing doesn’t matter to them as much. They won’t get suspicious or question us, so don’t stress too much about going all out, alright?”
“Okay,” came his simple reply, void of much emotion.
You didn’t know why you expected anything else, but a small part of you longed to continue pretending. You wanted to be with him, wanted to feel his hands on your skin again. It was almost too much for you to handle. You couldn’t imagine anyone else ever feeling so conflicted about their own lover, not to mention having hands on your arms of all places.
Absurd. Right?
Suddenly, the motorhome in front of you began rolling forward and you pressed down slowly on the gas pedal to follow suit. Seokjin twisted his broad shoulders back around to face the front, blinking harshly as the sunlight shone through the windscreen and hit him forcefully in the face.
Your lips quirked up in an amused smirk. What a goof.
*present*
Your eyes drooped with a heavy sleepiness as Seokjin finally pulled the truck into the site where everyone would be camping. The drive had been quite lengthy, but you’d been swapping every few hours or so until you’d become too tired to go on. Being the husband-material he was, Seokjin gladly took the burden of getting you both through the rest of the way.
“Hey wake up, everyone’s getting out for some reason.”
You blinked the sleep out of your eyes and groaned, feeling slightly more energised from your nap but still groggy. You slowly made your way down the steps and outside into the humid air, nostalgic memories finally flowing into your mind as you watched the members of your family collecting around several bright vans.
“Oh, this is the food truck stop,” you rasped out in a matter-of-factly tone, causing Seokjin to eye you in confusion. It was luckily still light enough to catch his dumbfounded expression.
“There are food trucks in this parkland area, so we can go and buy some hot-dogs or something if we want. It’s always the first dinner stop,” you tried to explain mid-yawn. The sky was blending into darkness as the sun began to set below the horizon.
“You’re so sleepy.” Seokjin snorted lowly, almost chuckling when you looked up at him through glaring watery eyes from the yawn, as if it weren’t obvious enough. He looked fairly relaxed, and you gently smiled at the sight of his beautiful eyes lighting up with wonder at the view of the campsite around him.
It was enthralling, how fascinated he was with absolutely everything. Even though the red cap sitting atop his black mop of hair cast a shadow over his face, it was still easy to spot just how eager he was to just enjoy life normally for once. To be a commoner and forget about all the pressed suits he had hanging up at home, the bucket loads of cash sitting in his bank account, the disapproving parents.
Now was the time he could finally taste the sweetness of freedom.
All of a sudden, the tall man left a tap on your shoulder and leaned in close once you faced him curiously. The stuffy fog of sleep was immediately chased away from your whirring mind, and you widened your eyes in shock when one of his hands pulled you closer, indicating what he wanted you to do with a simple touch.
Is he initiating a kiss, for once?
You reacted almost instantly to his subtle body language, everything coming naturally as you stepped in closer and raised your lips to peck his plump ones sweetly. Your whole body was buzzing with eruptions of joy, heat and surprise at the impulse; hands curling into his shirt so that you could feel the warmth of his body even more…for just a little bit longer. It was so rare for him to be bold like this.
For a single second, you forgot what your relationship truly was and felt - for the first time - what it was like to pour your heart into loving another person.
An older man cackled with his friend as they shared a beer together. “My, you young ones are just so passionate, aren’t you?” You swept some hair back behind your ear and ducked your head to hide the embarrassed flush. Or maybe you were trying to hide the stupid smile sitting on your face.
“I’ll get some food for us,” Seokjin said after another few moments of observing the place. You inwardly gaped at him as he moved towards one of the colourful food trucks, wondering if he was going to actually cover you for food.
What's gotten into him? Maybe it’s just because he’s used to putting on a performance, and that it’s such a different setting on top of that.
You shook your head to rid yourself of the fluffy feelings and jogged up to where your dark-haired partner was lining up for hot dogs.
“Do you want me to give you some cash for mine?” you asked hesitantly, gaze imploring for his attention again.
“No, go find a table to sit at,” he murmured, flicking his head upwards to point out a group of empty wooden tables nearby. You were pleasantly surprised at his motive and couldn’t help the way your jaw went slightly slack, simply stunned. Eventually, you complied and headed over towards the seats.
He'd looked so refreshed and so pleased with himself. Even with the weariness brought on by the long and tiresome journey.
The whole area was illuminated by a few atmospheric park lamps, but everyone knew that it would soon grow too dark to stay outside for much longer. Plus, you’d all need a good night’s sleep if you were going to make it to your stop tomorrow. You almost groaned again at the thought of driving so early.
“Here, I forgot to ask what drink you wanted, but you usually like bubbly stuff so I got a soft drink.”
Bit different from champagne, you surmised, but it was cute that he thought like that.
Seokjin placed a can next to where your arm was resting on the tabletop. Then, he held out a delicious looking hot dog sprinkled with fried onion rings, and you couldn’t stop the way your stomach grumbled and growled at the sight.
“I’m a starved woman, thank you.’’
He sat down and glanced around at the groups of people chatting, the strange but somehow never misplaced glimmer of interest never faltering in his eyes. On the other hand, you essentially inhaled the meal in front of you despite how weird it felt to ingest such cheap and fattening food. After months of high-class dining, it was more peculiar than one would think. Even something as unfamiliar as eating such a messy meal didn’t bother either one of you after the day you'd had.
“So, you don’t go around and talk to them much?” Seokjin questioned in a light tone of voice, picking his long and slightly curved fingers clean of any crumbs. The man was picturesque in how calm and concentrated he was. You decided that you liked that look of determination on him, even if it was for something so insignificant.
“I do, but I’m not really in the mood right now.” You sighed, resting your face into your palm so that you could ease the tension in your sore neck. You cast your gaze downwards and hoped that you wouldn’t regret your next words.
“Plus, I kind of want to spend most of my time on this trip with you.”
His eyes stared into yours from across the table, unblinking as he was thrown into one of his strange thoughtful silences.
You rushed to elaborate in a panic. “I-I … well I’ve done this trip many times and I thought it’d be nice to get to know each other a little bit more. We haven’t really asked many questions during the past few months, and I already feel so peaceful travelling together that I thought it’d be cool to just spend some time away from all the parties and shit to really relax and talk, you know?”
Cool? Did I really just say it'd be cool if we talked? Fuck you (Y/n).
You took a rickety breath and clasped both your hands together to try and hide your flustered appearance. With pursed lips and a slight cringe from the ranting accompanying your nerves, you searched his gaze with your own to try your best at reading him.
“Yeah, I know. It would make everything easier if we knew more about each other, so I don’t have to make up more lies,” he eventually spoke after clearing his throat quietly.
You thought he would’ve been more uncomfortable, or rather less than willing to take you up on the suggestion, but you were surprised yet again at his almost enthusiastic response. Was he finally letting you see past the high and sturdy walls he’d built up at the beginning of your relationship? If you didn’t know any better, you’d say he was coming out of his shell a little as well, but then again it wasn’t as if you knew enough to make that observation in any kind of confidence.
Maybe he's always been more open like this to people he was close with, and you were only just beginning to see this side. Even if that was the case, it made you happy to think that he was starting to trust you enough to change the way he acted. You were content enough to be considered as something close to a friend, at least.
“It’s late. We should head in,” his familiar voice snapped you out of your rampant thoughts, causing your feelings of bewilderment to skyrocket.
I need to keep my shit together!
“Yeah, sorry for spacing out.” You laughed, trying to shrug off the mortification at failing to keep your wits about you. Maybe if he stopped being so oddly charming with his perfect lips and enigmatic eyes, you’d be able to focus a little better.
You made your way to the last motorhome in the line. Seokjin had parked it a little ways from the others, almost as if he’d sensed your need for privacy and solitude. You were somewhat introverted at the best of times, so after a whole day of socialising you really wanted nothing more than to retreat back to your own little space to recuperate.
Had he figured that out, or was it just a lucky guess? Maybe he was just the same…
You followed him into the portable house and weaved yourself around the table and sofa lounges, eventually coming to stop by the comfy looking queen bed at the very back. This was where things would get weird again. You’d never shared a bed before tonight, and the couches weren’t large enough to allow anyone space to sleep either.
“Ah, I guess we don’t have a choice. You don’t mind, do you?” you remarked reluctantly, knowing that you were more than happy to have company in your bed, but he might not feel the same.
“Well what else can I do?” He shrugged with indifference. “I would’ve taken the couch if I could’ve already.”
“Right, sorry I didn’t tell you before we left.”
You sighed, more embarrassment clouding your vision as you hurriedly searched the inside of your suitcase for a flimsy shirt. It was way too hot during the summertime to wear a full set of pyjamas, so you hoped Seokjin wouldn’t feel even more uncomfortable by your choice of clothing.
Better than being naked.
You shuddered with heat at the thought but pushed it all away quickly. This was already bad enough as it was.
“It’s fine, I honestly don’t mind if you don’t,” he grunted while beginning to unbutton his shirt. You swallowed thickly at the sight of his broad chest and collarbone slowly getting revealed the lower he went. That, paired with the way his hair had become messy and rugged after driving and running his hands through it, was a dangerous combination you were enjoying way too much.
“Well, I don’t. Never did." You smiled nervously before moving to the bathroom to get changed.
You knew that sharing a bed with him after so many months was never going to be an easy feat. It was awkward at best, with you trying your best to ignore the thoughts of him being so close - thanks to your fear of doing something unpredictable - and him having no trouble forgetting you were there altogether. It was nothing for him. Somehow, he could just sleep the night away and not think about the presence of other people constantly.
The sound of soft breathing, the occasional movement of a foot or arm, the slight rise of the duvet with every deep inhale, or even the dreamy mumbling slipping past lips every now and again. You envied the peaceful way he drifted off, knowing that living with siblings most likely allowed him to factor these things right out.
For you, they were things that kept your eyes wide open, mind running a million miles a minute.
~
The next morning brought you to the first town on the itinerary. The sleepless night faded away as you parked the large vehicle next to the others, legs already bouncing with excitement at the thought of finally visiting some of your old childhood pastimes.
You all spent the day traipsing through the streets while some of the older family members greeted the shopkeepers and residents heartily. You could feel your heart bursting at the sight of Seokjin looking around the place with wide eyes, obvious amazement lighting up his face as he regarded the interactions of those around him. There was a growing fondness there you never thought you’d see.
One parkland picnic later, and the two of you found yourselves mingling with the crowd. You surprisingly found it easy to talk about your married life together. Even though he was quiet and unsure of how to act, everyone loved Seokjin and found great amusement in teasing and joking around with him. Many times you had to bite your tongue to hold back a snort of laughter. The old uncles and aunties never did hold back their rowdy banter.
“I remember when I was first married, son,” your eldest cousin said and clapped a hand firmly onto Seokjin’s shoulder, “It’s always magical at first, but soon you’ll want to chew your own ear off!”
You all laughed at his sardonic humour. Everyone, even the hopeless romantics, knew that marriage was never supposed to be perfect.
“It can’t be magical the whole time?” Seokjin asked thoughtfully, the tone of his voice light-hearted but the nature of the question way too innocent for your boisterous family to bypass.
Okay, maybe not everyone knew.
You almost choked on your sandwich when the people around you burst into loud laughter, feeling sorry for your husband. He just didn’t know the group of people he was dealing with yet.
The older men clinked their beers together. “Look at this guy, he wants a life-long honeymoon phase!”
“Nah, I think he’s looking for an early grave instead.”
You furrowed your brows and yelled through a smile, “Hey! What do you take me for, a monster?”
They exchanged wide-eyed looks and chuckled again before waving you off and tousling your hair affectionately.
“Be careful or I’ll tell Aunty what you said.” You giggled, trying to fix your messy tresses.
The loud and harmless jesting continued amongst the rest of the group while you turned to see how Seokjin was going with his food. A smile curved your lips again when you spotted the slight crinkle appearing at the corners of his eyes. He was amused, and the way the beaming sunlight streamed down through the tree branches to light up his grinning face was breathtakingly perfect.
His eyes shifted to meet yours suddenly, and you were glad it didn’t cause his expression to change. His gaze, irrevocably beautiful, was so warm and lively. If you could, you would want to see him this happy for the rest of his life.
“Son,” he mouthed quietly after shifting his gaze away from your awestruck scrutiny, “I’m still waiting for my own father to call me that.”
A ruthless stab to your chest. Not only from his words, but rather the lack of emotion he expressed while speaking them.
You didn’t know the kind of relationships he’d had, or how he’d lived his life so far, but trying to find out was like trying to connect with a brick wall. This simple statement about his father had you swallowing back sympathy, and it was upsetting to think that you’d never even once thought to ask him about it.
You wanted – no, you needed him to open up to you.
Quickly sifting through one of the cute picnic baskets led you to find a bundle of sweet packaged snacks. You would do anything to wipe that distantly forlorn look off his face, and universal law stated that candy was sure-fire way to lift anyone’s spirits. You personally loved them, but it was tough to determine if his tastes would match.
“Want a jelly?”
“Wait, you mean-” he started, but cut himself off when you finally fished out a specific packet and let out a small ‘ah!’ of triumph. His eyes shone with recognition, and you became confused at his unexpected reaction.
“I haven’t had these since I was young. They were my favourite, but my mother wanted us to stop eating too many sugary things…” Seokjin revealed, his lips pulling up into a smirk as he recalled his childhood memories.
“Well, you’re on your own now, and I’m not going to stop you. So here.” You chuckled and waited until he’d grabbed a handful of jellies before popping one into your own mouth.
Seokjin shook his head with a huff. He obviously found it stupid how he’d followed the strict rules of his parents for so long, not allowing himself to rebel in the slightest. It had never been an option before, but now here he was – living in a motorhome, eating hot dogs and jellies, basically hitchhiking through old weary towns rather than having his head down working for a big-time business firm.
You watched his eyes trail over you again, almost picking up his phantom of a voice saying, “So this is the life I could have lived.”
It brought a smile to your face as you thought about the way his gaze had lit up and drank everything in with such fervour. His cold and masquerade-like world was changing, he was seeing life from a different perspective, and knowing that you’d played a part in that brought you immense joy.
It was a warm glow of happiness you’d never felt or known before.
Night fell once more. Everyone filtered away to their beds, eyes drooping and bellies full of the various baked goods of the town. It had been an amazing day, and you knew you couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to help Seokjin emerge from his shell.
He seemed to be enjoying the trip for the exact same reasons you always had. Except now, you had another.

Bakugou one shot-reader gets attacked by a villin with a quirk that makes y/n just insanely sad, make them want to give up, that there’s no point, feeling worthless. And although the hero’s capture the villain y/n’s attitude stays the same. Super angsty but ending in fluff please? 💛
WARNING: Negative Thoughts, Struggles With Self Worth and Confidence, Suicide Mention.
Tumblr media
You looked with a blank expression as your classmates laughed, the sound mocking you. How could they be happy? Happiness was a joke or at least that’s what you thought. You let out a sigh as your hands run through your hair, fingers scratching your scalp before taking hold and violently pulling. The dull ache that came was only a cruel reminder that you were alive, that your heart was still beating even though at the moment, it felt hollow in your chest. No one seemed to care about your dilemma or so you believed.
Bakugou watched you from his position on top of the desk, much to Iida’s dislike. Though much like you, he had emotions stirring up inside him. He was there when the villain attacked you, he blamed himself for not being able to move fast enough and he witnessed that strange mist hit you. Effectively making you collapse, Bakugou was the one that carried you to the hospital and your teachers decided to take a cautious approach. Not fully knowing what the effects of the quirk that hit you would be.
After a few days, some of your teachers began assuming it was nothing. Which was something that pissed Bakugou off, the teachers must have been blind not to see your change of behavior. Your smile was gone, your shoulders were slumped, there was a dull blank look in your eye and you began to walk with your head down. Then again, maybe he should be blaming himself. He assumed that once they had captured the villain, their quirk, or whatever connection they had to you would be broken. But, that didn’t seem to be the case.
In fact, this feeling you had. This depressing cloud that hung over your head only grew and you were beginning to get negative thoughts. At first, they were just simple doubts about your life, your dream of becoming a hero. But then, you began to question your self-worth. Were you good enough, would the world miss you if you were gone? Though you had tried to win the battle inside your head, you found yourself slowly succumbing to the darkness. You began to distance yourself from your friends and locking yourself away when school hours were over.
Though a few friends showed concern, you played it off as nothing. Just that you weren’t feeling well, if only they knew that you had begun to cry yourself to sleep. The tears never seemed to stop and the feeling of being utterly useless, worthless plagued your mind. This mindset stayed with you even during training, you normally gave it your all. Never letting yourself get hit, always finding a way to win the fight. Not lately, it was almost like you had willingly allowed yourself to get hit, battered, and beaten.
Bakugou always seemed to be the one to carry you to the nurse’s office and while you felt his suspicious glance practically burning a hole through you. It didn’t matter and you found that you could care less about it. After all, what could he do? What words or actions could possibly make you feel more worthless than you did now? Did anything really matter in the end? The answer was obvious, but that didn’t stop Bakugou from asking you, “What the hell is up with you lately!?” he placed you down onto the bed, if you weren’t so depressed you would almost be thankful that you were in the nurse’s office.
You pressed your lips together, not willing to answer him. What could you even tell him, your words weren’t important. You weren’t important, only someone to be forgotten at the end of each day. “Hey!” he snapped and though you didn’t want to, a wince came when he grabbed your jaw. Forcing your head up, you could feel his nails dig into your skin but you didn’t care. Pain was the only thing you had left and in that sense, you were almost happy. Sadness was the emotion you had come to rely on.
He clenched his jaw, though you didn’t care that he was angry. He lowered his head and you looked into his fiery red eyes. “Just what the hell happened to you, dumbass!? Ever since you got hit with that quirk, you haven't been the same. Don’t think I haven’t noticed this bullshit depression you’ve been going through.” he said, squeezing your jaw, and more than likely his nails would leave marks. “So either tell me or I’m going to fucking-” he let out a cry when he felt a fist collide with the back of his knee. “Now, now. That isn’t the way you talk to someone who's injured.” Recovery Girl said, looking at Bakugou who was now holding his aching knee.
He growled in response, glaring at the old woman. “B-Bitch …” he muttered under his breath, but Recovery Girl only hit him again. “That’s no way to talk, now if you’d please take your leave. I have work to do,” she said as she turned to you, though your injuries weren’t severe by any means. She still cared about the students and was willing to take care of small wounds and cuts as well. It was in her nature, but as Bakugou learned even someone that was made for healing could still inflict pain upon others. “Grumpy old woman …” he muttered as he wobbled onto his feet, hopping out of the nurse’s office with his one good leg.
“This isn’t over, y/n!” he warned you, but you were unmoved by his words. Your head hanging low, you almost wanted to tell Recovery Girl you didn’t want your injuries healed. But you knew that would just cause concern and your stomach twisted, what a disgusting thing to think about. Someone actually caring about you, no one cared. They could pretend, but it meant nothing. Just like you. Tingles coursed through your body as Recovery Girl used her quirk, but you only shook your head. Trying to hold back the tears that threatened to come.
After you were healed, Recovery Girl gave you instructions to get back to class, but you didn’t want to face anyone. Didn’t want to see their expressions when the failure of Class 1-A walked back into the room. So instead, you made your way back to the dorm building. An easy task when there were no teachers around, but much like always. Your head was hanging as you walked there, tears dripping down your cheeks and soaking into the ground below. Bakugou’s words seemed to ring in your head, what did he mean by this isn’t over?
You had already decided it was and once you reached the dorm building, you looked up to the roof. Over. Your heart was racing as you made your way to the roof, negative thoughts plaguing your mind. Screaming as you slowly stepped onto the railing, looking at the ground before you. ‘Jump ...do it. Just one last action and your pain is all over’ the voice echoed and you almost swore you recognized it. But once more, it didn’t matter. ‘Do it’ you took a deep breath and closed your eyes, spreading your arms. A moment of silence came before you stepped over the edge.
The ambulance arrived shortly after, the flashing lights illuminating the dorm building and students were gathered around. Chatter filled the air and most of the students were wondering what happened. Bakugou pushed through the crowd, the police were holding the students back. Informing them that they could proceed once the area was clear. Bakugou huffed and for a moment, he was worried if this had anything to do with you. He had been concerned when you didn’t return from the nurse’s office and had actively searched for you during his free period.
But you were nowhere to be found, until now. His eyes widened and he felt his heart sink, an odd numbness coursed through him as he saw your body on the stretcher. He could tell you were covered in blood and all at once his world went silent. “Y/n!” he shouted as he tried to push past the police officers who in turn grabbed him with force, warning him to calm down. “Y/n! No ...let go of me, dumbasses!” he pleaded and watched as your body was loaded onto the ambulance. A few tears rolled down his cheeks, just watching you get carried away.
You had tried to commit suicide. But you weren’t successful, which was a relief to some. You had slipped into a deep slumber for a few days before you woke up, when you opened your eyes you found yourself staring at the ceiling. You blinked, your mind slowly recalling what had happened. You quickly sat up, looking around the room. Flowers were everywhere, making the room colorful. “What happened …” you questioned, though you had recalled most of it. There were some parts that were fuzzy.
You jumped when a knock sounded and turned your attention to the door, despite your head aching. You watched Bakugou walk into the room, your eyes shifting to the yellow flowers he had in his hand. “I’m surprised to see you awake, after a dumbass move like that,” he said, but you only replied with silence as he walked over and held the flowers out to you. “Huh?” you stared at them before looking at Bakugou. His lips were turned up in a pout and his eyes were looking away from you. “Well …” he said, “Take the damned flowers!” he snapped, once more causing you to jump.
You quickly snatched them from his hand and cradled them to your chest, inhaling their sweet scent. Your mind felt less foggy, “What ...happened Bakugou?” you questioned, “I know I was …” you paused, hearing Bakugou huff and cross his arms. “Yeah ...well some villain hit you with their quirk in case you forgot that,” he said and you placed your flowers to the side before you tried to recall. “Oh ...that’s right, during that battle. They hit me with some kind of mist ...and then …” you pressed a hand to your chest. “All I felt, all I saw was darkness,” you said with a frown.
“Yeah yeah, that stupid mist was …” Bakugou growled before pulling up a seat, “The villain you faced off with had some type of stupid manipulation quirk, they can control and inflict negative emotions into a victim of their choosing. We don’t know all the details, but we think their main goal is to make heroes end their lives by not only controlling their emotions but plaguing their minds with thoughts that ...aren’t true,” he explained before looking at you. His arms still crossed and while his expression was still stern, it softened as he looked at you.
“Look, I was ...worried about you back there. When I learned you jumped ...I didn’t know what to think ..I just wanted you to be okay and ...when I realized how you were feeling. Well ...maybe I should have been nicer to you.” he said, growling as he rubbed the back of his head. “How are you feeling?” he questioned, a slight blush coming to his face. You blinked, looking at the flowers before you leaned back, resting your head against the pillows. “I ...my mind is less foggy, but ...it was almost like ...like I was being controlled or just watching my life play through a television screen. I couldn’t say or do anything, I just watched myself ...fall apart,” you explained, your voice in a hushed whisper.
Bakugou took a deep breath, trembling as various emotions filled him. “I ...I’m sorry you had to go through that ...damn it.” he hissed before scratching his neck, fighting what he wanted to do. He slowly rose from his chair, his arms stretched out and you looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “Are you okay?” you questioned, watching as his face contorted. “Uh …” you weren’t sure what to say as he walked over and wrapped his arms around you, he wasn’t used to giving or receiving hugs. So it was strange, feeling someone else’s warmth against him.
“Just ...please don’t do that again and if you’re ever feeling sad. Well come to me, I’ll make sure no shitty extras give you a hard time,” he said before quickly pulling back, his face red and you chuckled at the sight of it. “SHUT UP.” he snapped, “O-Or I won’t hug you again.” he said, “Would you want to hug me again?” you questioned with a smile and only received Bakugou’s angry glare in return. “Okay, okay,” you said, holding your hands up. “Thank you Bakugou.” you smiled at him, “Thank you for trying to care, but I promise. I’ll be stronger next time something like this happens.” he looked at you, his eyebrows knitting together.
Maybe he didn’t understand why you were saying that, but it didn’t matter. In the end, nothing but how you felt and how you reacted mattered. “Oh ...and I’ll make sure if I get too upset or sad. I’ll come to you, okay? I’m sorry for worrying you so much.” you said, rubbing your arm as you glanced down. “Yeah well ...I’m keeping you to that promise,” he said as he took a seat on the bed and you looked back at him. Almost feeling your heart stop when you saw that soft gentle smile on his face, one that could push the darkness back.

Reality (3) // Colin Ritman X Reader
A/N: Hey loves, I was busy with finals and everything is pain when I tried to edit the original for this and it fucking deleted itself on its own when I tried to edit it. I’m very upset and angry at tumblr for it but I guess I can’t do shit about it so I had to remake it entirely. Yay.
But this did give me a chance to remake this part into something better. It’s not as good as the original part, but it’s what I tried to make close to it. It was 1:00AM when it happened and I was too damn stressed, depressed and reading obsessed to even write it then so I’m writing it as finals are coming in soon. Anyone who loved the original, I am so sorry. You can blame tumblr for it.
REQUESTS ARE CLOSED BTW (FOR NOW)

What seemed like forever, you and Colin made it to his flat building. It was big, definitely a place what someone as rich as Colin could afford. You wondered if he lived alone. Did he have someone living with him? Flat mate? Girlfriend? I hope not, you thought.
You were secretly hoping that he didn't have a girlfriend or wife. You never really heard about anything of Colin having a lover, but it wasn't like you had a chance with Colin. He focused on his video games and your main focus was your game.
The both of you took the lift up to his floor and you continued to follow him as the two of you walked through the halls. You looked down at the floor then over to the windows you passed by. You were on one of the top floors, making a large view of a lot of homes over the building. You weren't the biggest fans of heights, but continued to walk and said nothing anyway.
Upon reaching his flat, Colin grabbed his keys from his pocket and unlocked the door. He tossed his keys onto a side table right by the front door and you trailed from behind him, fidgeting with your sleeves.
Walking fully into the developer's home, you got a good look of the living room of it. It was what you expected, a regular home with styled walls, carpet and long couches.
After taking in the whole place, you noticed a small balcony with a woman with short, frizzled and fiery red hair standing in the middle of it, cradling a small baby. You titled your head in confusion and frowned a bit in disappointment. I guess he does have a lover, you thought to yourself.
Colin walked up to the red haired woman and slowly grabbed the baby from her arms. He bounced her lightly up and down and you almost gushed at the sight. He was so gentle with her, making you adore him even more.
"(Y/n), this is my sister, Kitty." Colin introduced you, not taking his eyes off of his baby girl for a moment. The fiery red head waved at you with a tiny smile on her face.
A wave of relief washed through you. You were mostly glad he wasn't in a relationship, still, your mind continued to persuade you that you had no chance.
"(Y/n) is Stefan's twin sister." Colin informed his sibling. Kitty made a hum noise in response.
"And this is Pearl," his baby, Pearl, reached one of her hands toward Colin. "Daddy's little legacy." Colin slightly smiled at the baby's action.
"(Y/n)'s in the hole, Kit." The blond informed the red head. Kitty nodded understandingly.
"Poor girl. You gonna get her out?" Kitty asked, her arms crossed. You looked down at the ground in a bit of shame.
"Yup."
Colin let Kitty take back Pearl and started to walk into another room. You looked over to Kitty and gave a shy smile, to which she returned. You were about to go follow Colin into the room he went into before you were stopped by the red head herself.
"You like him, don't you?" Kitty asked, a smirk plastered on her face, while yours immediately flushed red.
"W-what? H-How did you..?" You stuttered.
"I won't go all 'protective sister' on you. But just be careful with him, (Y/n)." She told you. You responded with a simple nod and left the room.
You went into the room where Colin entered and found him sitting on a white chair. In the opposite position was a long, curved and black couch. You noticed on one of his computer desks that there was a mug of tea sitting there.
"Grab a pew, love."
You shot your gaze over to him when he called you the nickname, and all he did was smile back at you. You brushed it off and grabbed the mug and sat in the middle of the black couch opposite to him.
You took a few small sips of tea before setting it on the table between the two of you. While you were doing that, Colin took out another cigar roll-up and lit it with a lighter. He took a pew puffs before leaning over and reached it out to you.
"Here." He said.
"O-oh..I haven't really ever..." You stuttered out, embarrassed.
"Come on." Colin pressed a bit.
Hesitantly, you grabbed the cancer stick from his hand, brushing yours lightly against his a bit, causing you to blush slightly. You ignored your feelings and put the cigar between your lips, taking a puff of it. You struggled to keep yourself together and started to cough almost immediately after you took it away from your lips.
"That's alright, love. You'll get the hang of that." Colin says while reaching into a small black box. What was up with him and calling you that?
You finally managed to calm yourself down and looked up to find Colin with his right index finger out to you with a little thin tablet thing on it, something you've never seen before.
"You want it?" He asked you.
"What-what is it?" You questioned him.
"It lets you see the bigger picture." He nodded towards it.
"I-I...I don't know..." You didn't know if you wanted it or not. You wanted help but you didn't know if having a strange thing you've never taken before was the best way.
"It'll help you understand." Colin explained.
"Do you want it? It's your choice." He asked you, once more.
Yes // No
"Y-yes." Shaking a bit, you grabbed the tablet from his middle finger and stared at it.
"Just watch me, darling." Your gaze followed back up to Colin and you watched at he moved his fingers beside his head, one which held his own thin tablet on his index finger, then opened his mouth wide and stuck his tongue to put the tablet onto it.
He closed his mouth and took the tablet with ease. Anxiously, you looked at him before opening your mouth to take your own. The tablet left a....strange taste in your mouth but you sucked it up and took it anyway.
"Now what?" You asked. He smiled.
"We wait."
Colin them stood up and walking behind the couch you were sitting on. He went over to a turntable and inserted a record. Once the needle hit the disc, music started to play softly throughout the room.
He sat back down onto his white chair and the two of you stared at each other before the drugs started to finally take effect. The posters on the walls began to move and the light hitting Colin's face flowed brighter in different colors.
"I think...I think it's working." Your mouth started to form into a large grin and you began laughing randomly.
"Don't worry, love. It gets better." Colin's face transformed into a wide smile once he heard you laughing. It was strange how it attracted him, your laugh wasn't like a high pitched girly laugh but it sounded like the laughs that Colin would hear from Stefan.
A few minutes later, you were touching a painting on the wall that looked like it was mixing in with water. Every time you touched the painted or blew on it, the painting would move and the colors of the painting would combine.
To say you were having a blast was not even close to what you were feeling. The stress and anxiety weighing on your shoulders took off and you felt like you were having fun. Then again, you were high.
"People think there's one reality, but there's loads of them, all snaking off like roots. And what we do on one path affects the others." You turned over to Colin and saw his expression was serious, almost like he was positive about what he was saying.
You sat on the black couch and started to stare at your hands. Every time you moved them, trails of colorful lines followed them, making you giggle to yourself. You continued waving your hands as Colin sat on the couch with you and ranted.
"There's messages in every game. Like PAC Man! You know what PAC stands for?" Suddenly, Colin stood up and paced back and forth.
"P-A-C. Program and Control. He's program and control man." Colin ranted and told you all about the 'real' world of PAC Man.
"It's all code. If you listen carefully, you can hear the numbers." Colin said, his forehead rested against his balcony glass door. You were now standing up, looking around the door and wobbling a bit. He turned over to you and continued.
"There's a cosmic flowchart that dictates where you can and can't go." All of sudden, Colin took off his glasses and grabbed your face in his hands.
You laughed at him, still in your high state. You grabbed his face as well and stared into his blue eyes. You caressed his cheeks and fought the urge to kiss him right there. Even if you did kiss him, there would be no chance he remembered it, right?
"Your eyes are so pretty." You stated. Colin said nothing but you saw the corners of his mouth rise a bit.
"I've given you the knowledge. I've set you free. Do you understand?" The blond asked. His eyes began to grow in size to you, probably because of your state. It startled you for a moment before you answered him.
"Yes...maybe...I don't know." You giggled. Your mind was making everything seem so fuzzy to you that you barely comprehended his question.
"I'll show you what I mean. Come with me, love." He let go of your face and opened his glass balcony door. Colin walked out and you followed from behind.
He stood on the right side of the balcony while you stood on the left, looking over the ledge in a bit of fear.
Stay still // Grab Colin's wrist
You grabbed onto Colin's wrist, as if it was an instinct or impulse that caused you to. You gripped his wrist tightly in order to comfort yourself from the view.
"We're on one path right now, you and me. And how one path ends is immaterial. It's how our decisions along the path the whole that matters. Do you believe me?" Your gaze switched over to him.
"I-I don't know..." You responded, still smiling despite the situation.
"I'll prove it. One of us, is going over. Over there." The game developer pointed his arm over the ledge and your eyes widened, your smile dropping. With a sharp turn of your head, you gazed at him with searing fear in your eyes.
"No-no no no! Y-You'll die! You'll die!" You cried out.
"It wouldn't matter because there are other timelines, (Y/n)!" Colin said, as if it was a matter of fact. Your heart was doing flips and you began to feel sick to the stomach.
"Dammit Colin, when I asked for help I didn't mean this! I don't wanna do this." You practically begged him.
"Love, how many times have you watched PAC Man die? Doesn't bother him." He shrugged, as if it fixed the whole situation. "He just tries again."
"C-Colin..."
"One of us is jumping. So who's it gonna be?"
Your mind and mouth both contemplated your next words.
"It's a nice breeze up here." Colin said, trying to lighten the mood a bit.
"Come on, love. Which one of us is jumping?" He asked once more.
(Y/n) // Colin
"I'll do it." You decided.
"I like your style. Are you sure, love?" Colin smirked before checking with you.
"Y-Yes." You stuttered a bit. Finally realizing what choice you made, you forced yourself onto the ledge of the balcony, almost falling over in the process.
You gasped out in surprise but never the less, started to laugh incoherently. Colin watched as you pushed yourself up and his mind started to sober up, but not enough to make him realize what was going on.
"Colin." You turned towards him and grabbed onto the collar of his shirt.
"Yes, (Y/n)?" He stared into your (e/c) eyes.
Kiss him // Say goodbye
"Kiss me before I jump."
-x-x-x-
"Hello, Kitty."
"Hello, Stefan! Are you here for (Y/n)?" Kitty asked.
"No, actually. I'm here to ask something from Colin. But (Y/n) is here?" Stefan questioned, his brow furrowed.
"Yeah. He's getting her out of the hole." Stefan froze. He knew of Colin's ways of helping people out of the hole. They weren't exactly good ways.
"Where are they?"
-x-x-x-
"Kiss me before I jump." You asked of him, still hanging on the ledge but not bothering to look away from his eyes that glowed in the light.
"Sure thing."
You leaned down and pressed your lips against Colin's own and closed your eyes. You tilted your head for easier access for Colin and he found himself easing into the kiss as well, putting his right hand on your cheek to pull you closer to him. Your lips fit together almost perfectly, as if they were made for each other. Finally, you unwillingly pulled away from the sweet kiss and looked into his blue eyes.
"See you in the next reality." You grinned at him. He returned it.
"In the next reality."
You let go of the ledge and leaped over it to fall your way to your death. Colin watched as your body landed on top of a large crate, blood spilling out from your body. You killed yourself for the man who had taken your heart.
The sound of your body hitting the bottom sobered Colin up completely. He glanced at your body on top of the crate and stared at it. No other emotion shown on his face but sadness and regret.
Just then, the sound of slow footsteps from behind him caused him to look up, but not at the person.
"Colin. Where is my sister?"
...
...
"Colin what did you do?!

Growing Pains. Part 6b (NSFW)
"Clever boy." Duffy giggled.
Charlie laughed gently, “Can’t wait for later babe.”
"Can I have more cake?" Oli asked.
“Only a little bit, we don’t want you to be sick.”
"Its ok, I'll puke in Paul's bed if I am." Oli laughed.
“Oli, that’s not nice.”
"If you do I'll wee in yours!" Paul shot back.
“Boys!” Charlie shook his head fondly, “Behave.”
The rest of the day passed in a smooth manner. The older two left around 7pm, to stay at their girlfriends and the boys were in bed. The girls were doing god knows what in their rooms.
"Well Krystal is certainly interesting..!" Duffy remarked as she finished loading the dishwasher.
“Interesting is one way of describing her. She was barely wearing anything!”
"Yeh, I saw that you noticed that!" Duffy retorted with a playful glare.
“Where was I supposed to look? She’s quite attractive...”
"Too obvious for my tastes."
Charlie stepped towards her, “Do you fancy having fun?”
"Well it would be rather disappointing for you if your sons got more action than you on your birthday!" She teased.
“That would be disappointing.” He replied as he took Duffy into his arms.
"Shall we see what's waiting for you upstairs then?"
“Yes!” He was enthusiastic.
She led him upstairs. "Wait here." She instructed outside their bedroom door before slipping inside and closing it once more behind her.
He waited outside, pouting a little.
Several minutes later she called from the bedroom. "You can come in now."
He opened the door and stepped into the room, closing the door behind him.
The only light in the room came from candles scattered on the dresser and bedside tables. Duffy lay on the bed her hair fanned out across the pillows wearing a new negligee made of black silk and lace.
He smiled as he stepped towards the bed. “Well hello there gorgeous.”
"Does the birthday boy approve?" She purred.
“He approves very much.”
"Fancy showing me how much?" She smirked.
He crawled towards her and gazed down at her. He touched her cheek, “I can’t...”
Duffy raised her eyebrow at him briefly before a hurt look filled her eyes. "Its my fault isn't it?" She whispered, the barely contained tears evident in her voice.
He shook his head and stayed where he was, his hand on her cheek. “I can’t... You know...”
Her brain processed the possibilities. "Is it because of what happened at Christmas? Has the doctor said something? Oh why didn't you tell me?" She'd clearly flipped into nurse mode.
“Duffy, please.” He swallowed, “I can get hard but I can’t finish. I can’t come.” He sighed and lay beside her.
She was still running through the medical possibilities. "Could it be some kind of after effect of the vasectomy reversal, I mean, I know it's been years since you had it done but you never know..."
“No. It’s because of the meds I’m on for the depression.” He sighed, “It really hurt you on Valentine’s Day when I didn’t come, I don’t want to hurt you again.” He admitted.
"But you were fine on those for ages." She replied, her eyebrows knitted together. "I thought that was coz you were angry with me." She sighed.
“I’ve started taking the depression tablets again. I came off them but...” He paused, “Things started getting dark again.”
"Oh sweetheart, why didn't you say? Valentines was probably just a silly one off. We were tired and grumpy."
“I’ve tried since... To come but I can’t.” He sighed.
"You haven't let me try though."
“I don’t want to hurt you.” He moved to lie on his side.
“Because I know you think I’m not attracted to you anymore but that’s not true. You make me as hard as anything.”
"I know I'm not as young and slim as I used to be..." She sighed.
“You’re still just as slim and beautiful as the day we first met.”
"We'll just gloss over the fact I was a stone overweight back then..."
“You weren’t fat when we first met. I thought you had amazing curves.”
"Yet you still teased me when I tried to diet." She pouted.
“I did.” He kissed her lips, “I didn’t want you to lose your curves.” He began to remove his belt from his jeans.
"So that's why you told me avocado was fattening was it? Surely if you hadn't wanted me to lose weight then you would have encouraged me to tuck in instead?" She replied, a smirk pulling at the corners of her lips.
“You’re just perfect, the way you are. Always have been.” His fingertips ran up her side. “So sexy!”
She caressed his cheek. "I do love you. So very much. I'm sorry I'm such a pain sometimes."
“I don’t mind,” He admitted as he lent forward and kissed her tenderly.
She moved her hand to wrap around his shoulders, keeping him close.
“I’m so lucky to have you in my life.”
"You would tell me if there was something more serious wrong wouldn't you?"
“It’s just my depression, that’s all.” He stroked her cheek, “Things have been a bit bad lately. I got scared...”
"What scared you?"
“That you may not have wanted me anymore."
"And I thought you'd gone off me..."
“We’re a right pair aren’t we?” He nuzzled his nose affectionately against Duffy’s.
"We really are."
“Communication has never been our strongest point has it?”
"No its not." She chuckled softly.
“You’re my best friend. My whole world. You always were.”
"And you've given me more than I could wish for in even my wildest dreams."
“Our huge chaos of a family?”
"Yes. I was thinking earlier that we might want to invest in a bigger dining table." She giggled.
“Yeah I think we need to.” Charlie moved his head to Duffy’s neck and began to kiss and nibble on her sensitive spot.
"Means more room for other activities too..." She mumbled distractedly.
“I hear you.” His lips moved further down her body.
"I thought you'd approve..." She let out a moan as his touch left a trail of goosebumps on her skin.
“It suits you. I like the lace...” He ran his fingertips up her thighs and parted her legs slightly.
"You alway did like me in lace."
“Always. I remember the first time you ever wore lace for me.”
"The first time I purposefully wore lace for you or the first time you saw me in lace..?" She asked, despite the fact that the path of his tongue was making stringing words together increasingly tricky.
“First time I saw you.” He mumbled in reply as his tongue ran up her thighs.
"Did you really accidentally push the wrong door open coz you were trying to escape an irate patient?" She asked, tilting her head to watch him.
“Yeah. It was completely accidental. A nice surprise though.”
"I'm surprised my shriek didn't bring everyone down on us..!"
He laughed, “That’s true. Are you ok?”
"Yeh, are you?"
“Yeah.” He slowly pulled off her underwear and chucked them. The knickers landing on the lamp.
"I swear you do that on purpose!" She giggled.
“Throw your knickers?”
"Hit the lamp with them."
He didn’t answer as he dived between her legs and ran his tongue over her.
"Oh fuck!" She moaned.
He chuckled softly as he began to pleasure her.
She wasn't sure why she felt so different to the last time they were intimate but it filled her with relief.
As his tongue circled her clit, Charlie reached up and grabbed her breasts, squeezing them in his hands.
She waited for him to notice how much her breasts had shrunk in the last few months.
He noticed but didn’t comment, too busy trying to get her to come.
She became distracted from thinking about her insecurities as he brushed her nipples with his fingertips.
He moved and sighed sadly, “You’re not in the mood?” He asked.
"I am. I'm just so conflicted about how I look." She admitted quietly.
“You’re insecure?” He sat beside her, “Talk to me?” He took her hand in his.
"I..." Her eyes filled with tears. "I fear I'm slipping again..." She whispered.
“With the anorexia?”
"I kept telling myself that I didn't have a problem... I almost had myself convinced..."
“But you do? Is that what you’re telling me, babe?”
"You certainly think I do don't you?"
“You haven’t been yourself for a while. And I’ve noticed changes in your body.” He admitted.
"Tell me the truth. Tell me what you see." She told him as she pulled the duvet around them and rested her head against his chest.
“Every day I wake up with you by my side?”
"Go on..."
“That you haven’t changed from the day I fell in love with you. You’re still just as beautiful. Still as kind and caring, argumentative and infuriating. Your figure is beautiful, your hips, waist, tits and arse are lovely and I love touching them. But they have gotten smaller recently. The thing I miss the most though is the sparkle in those gorgeous green eyes of yours.”
"I've not been sleeping well." She admitted.
“How long?”
"A couple of months."
He kissed the top of her head and wrapped his arms around her. “Can we go to the doctors?”
"Can we not try and handle it between ourselves?"
He paused, “We can try, if you’d like that?”
"I'd feel better about that. I trust you to help me."
“We’ll do what we need to together ok?”
"OK. Dare I ask what that's going to be..?"
“I’m not sure yet. Any ideas?” He rested his head lightly against Duffy’s, “Do you fancy an early night, gorgeous? After we’ve finished talking?"
"I'd like us to reconnect properly."
“How shall we do that?”
"I don't know. I miss us being us." She shrugged.
“How about we just sit and talk for a while? Cuddle, snog..?”
"I like that idea." She smiled.
He caught her gaze and smiled, kissing her tenderly. “So do I.”
Duffy fiddled with her fingers for a few moments before leaning out of his arms to reach over to open her bedside drawer. "You're not the only one who has been taking pills again." She mumbled, unable to meet his eye as she placed the packet in his lap.
He picked up the tablets and studied them. “Are these the same ones as last time? Or similar?”
"Similar." She admitted. "I'm sorry."

Safe and Sound: John Wick/Reader Chapter 5
Tumblr media
Warnings: there is smut, I’m sorry, themes of kidnapping etc.
You feel like Red Riding Hood approaching the wolf as you tiptoe towards the corner where John sits. He is hunched over, attempting to get some sleep while propped against the wall. His shirt is open and you can see the gauze of bandage on his side, a flash of white in the dark. You realise you’re still wearing his coat and take it off, draping it over his chest and sit down next to him. John’s eyes flash open, he’s awake.
“What are you doing?” he asks, his voice gruff but almost gentle, curious.
“Didn’t want you to catch Pneumonia...I don’t know where the fuck we are….I’m not dying out here John…”
He gives a rough laugh. “I wouldn’t let you die. It’s my job to keep you alive.”
You resist the urge to roll your eyes. “Yeah...you said that...along with a bunch of other obscure sentences designed to be mysterious and alluring.”
His dark eyes drift over your face, lazy and slow, and you hope it is from exhaustion and not any hidden sickness.
“You find me alluring? You really must be messed up in the head…”
You hug yourself, offended. “This coming from a man who kidnapped me at gunpoint...tied me up...just...killed a load of…”
You trail off. John is staring at you, slightly more alert now. He takes one of your wrists in his fingers and inspects it.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you.” he states, pressing the pads of his fingers into your skin. The rope burn is now days old, your skin grown anew, fresh and vulnerable, and you hiss in pain, but don’t pull away.
He glares at your reaction, pushing himself away from the wall and tugging your wrists so you’re sat in front of him. You go submissively, watching him with round eyes.
“You should work on your sense of self-preservation. I can’t keep an eye on you 24 hours a day.”
You struggle a little in his grasp, mostly to test his strength. John holds you easily, giving you an arrogant look. He reminds you of a yawning lion who doesn’t need to demonstrate his power, he knows it is obvious.
“I’m not...scared of you….” you stutter. “You’ve been kind to me...on the whole…”
“You consider what I’ve done kindness?”
John looks incredulous and you shift under his gaze, looking down then up through your lashes. He gives a low barking laugh.
“You like me, is that it?”
You flush at his teasing tone, feeling humiliated. “You said you wanted me.”
He sighs, moving his hands from your wrists to cup your face. You melt into his touch and he groans a bit in frustration.
“Fuck...I do…”
You whimper, taking his admission as encouragement and push yourself forward, kissing him boldly. John holds you at a distance, hardly responding and just letting you explore his mouth. You lick at the seam of his lips and he opens them indulgently. You suck on his tongue and feel his grip on your shoulders tighten.
With your hands now free, you push aside his coat and trail them down his bare chest. He shudders and pulls back from you. You let your hands rest against his belt, waiting. You can almost feel the heat coming off him in waves.
“And why do you think you want me, John? There has to be a reason…”
“I don’t fucking know.” he barks grumpily, moving his hands so they press yours harder against his belt. “Maybe it’s...the mirror of Stockholm syndrome..I heard of that…”
“You’re really an amateur psychologist…” you can’t help but giggle.
He ignores your comment. “Or maybe it’s just karma coming to get me after all these years…”
You take a breath, wanting to get him off his depressive train of thought, and dare to press your hand to his crotch, almost curious to see if he does in fact desire you. Your mouth falls open in shock when you feel him, hard and hot against your palm.
John for his part freezes in shock, looking down at your small hand against the bulge in his pants. You wait in suspended animation to see what he will do, expecting him to rip your hand away. You almost pass out from desire when instead he bucks his hips, grinding into your touch with a shameless whine.
You grip him harder, emboldened, and John struggles to keep his eyes focused.
“You’re….distracting me...I should be on my guard…”
“Hmm….” you hum, your lip caught between your teeth in concentration as you stroke him through the material of his trousers. John grabs at your wrist again, this time in a futile effort, not knowing if he wants to push you off or to aid you.
“G...god…” he stutters, and you feel your stomach pooling with liquid desire. You never expected to have this effect on him.
You keep your hand on him, squeezing gently as you start to unbuckle his belt with the other. It’s a difficult task and in the end John bats your fingers away with frustration, finishing the job himself, letting his belt drop with a metallic thunk on the stone floor. You register how cold you are, sitting there, and you try to move his coat so it’s under your bottom, wanting to be comfortable before you resume your task.
John shakes his head and motions to his lap “Come sit here…just mind the  wound…”
Somehow you cannot disobey him and you move to straddle his thick legs, your clothed centre brushing against his covered erection. You grind yourself back and forth a few times, simply following your instinct, but it seems to be enough for John who grabs your elbows, giving you a heated, stern look.
“You better stop a moment this will be over fast…”
He inspects you, seeing you still wearing his clothes, oversized t-shirt and his boxers, with nothing underneath. You see him cataloguing the situation quickly, then acting on it, before you’ve even taken two breathes. He rubs at you through the cotton and it feels too good, too sinful. His mouth is at your neck, kissing and sucking there, lulling you deeper into submission. You let your mouth drop open and hear yourself pleading for more.
You know you’re leaking against his pants. John looks down and raises a dark eyebrow, licking his lips.
“You could come just from this?”
You nod, humping him then a few times, desperate. John allows it, sliding his large hands up under your t-shirt to cup your breasts. You give a little scream, his hands are cold against your skin. He thumbs your nipples which are already erect from the cold and gives a pleased sounding sigh.
“Well aren’t you just perfect?”
You give a whine in response, pushing your chest into his eager caresses.
“So responsive to me…” he murmurs in wonder, turning his gentle thumbing of your nipples to a cruel pinching. It sends a bolt of lust straight to your centre and you mewl like a kitten, your thighs shaking with the effort of staying still on top of him.
John gives a dark chuckle “I knew you’d like that…”
He runs a hand up your thigh which to your embarrassment is damp with your own arousal. John rubs his thumb and finger together, examining the wetness, then sticks out his tongue and licks his fingers one by one. You stare, almost hating him for a moment for taunting you so badly.
“Delicious…” he confirms, revelling in your mortification. He grasps your thighs and rocks you then, right against his cock and you moan in relief.
“Can you feel that? I’m rock hard...and it’s all for you…”
You’re so dizzy you can hardly reply, you lean in to kiss him and he grabs your face, stopping you, leaning his forehead against yours and staring into your eyes as he thrusts up against you.
“Don’t pretend this is sweet. No...this is pure need...you should just be honest about that…”
“John….” you cry out, a little too loud and he muffles it with his palm.
“Don’t want to...get us killed before we get each other off...do you?” he grunts between each word, and you can tell he is on the edge.
“Shut up….” you retort, catching onto his game and willingly joining the play. “Less talking...more...moving…”
You roll your hips in frustration and John grabs your ass, kneading it harshly and using it to press you harder down against him.
“Don’t tell me to shut up little one….I’ve got….holy shit keep doing that...a fucking gun…”
“I’m more interested in your other weapon right now…” you murmur, purring the words right against his ear.
John laughs at your attempt at dirty talk, then chokes as your teeth scrape against his ear.
“I’m….close…” he warns you, and suddenly it’s a competition to see who can make who lose it the fastest.
His fingers against your clit even through the material are driving you insane, so you concentrate on circling your hips and grinding yourself up and down his impressive length. Your vision is blacking out so you focus on the sensation alone, feeling John grab you tight, almost knocking the breath out of you, thrusting himself against you several times before coming with a growl. The sound of him reaching his climax is enough to push you over the edge and you ride it out against his insistent fingers until you have to push his hand away, oversensitive.
He holds you, sweaty and out of breath, and you wonder if you imagine the feeling of him petting your hair. Once you feel remotely back on earth he catches your eye with a serious glance.
“Nothing has changed. I meant what I said. I’m going to get someone else to watch you...this…” he waves a hand back and forth between you “cannot go on…”
You nod, watching him move to sleep, his gun held close. You feel helpless, and sad, but then, as your eyes drift to the window, you smile. White fluffy snowflakes are falling rapidly from the sky, already coating the ground with a thick layer of snow. Neither of you are going anywhere fast.

Does CBD Really Work For Pain?
CBD OIL FOR PAIN:
CBD oil is derived from the cannabis plant. People report using this oil for relief from pain, anxiety, depression, and sleep disorders.
There is limited evidence from human studies to support the benefits of CBD oil, due to restrictions on the use of and research on cannabis. As cannabis is becoming legalized in various regions, research is gaining momentum and shows some promising results.
WHY PEOPLE USE CBD OIL?
According to the Institute of Medicine of The National Academies, 100 million Americans live with chronic pain. Along with drastically reducing quality of life, chronic pain can increase healthcare costs and have a negative impact on productivity at work.
Common types of chronic pain include:
Cancer Pain
Fibromyalgia
Headaches
IBS
Arthritis
Multiple Sclerosis
Over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription pain medications are often recommended in the treatment of chronic pain, but many people seek out alternative forms of relief, such as herbs, nutritional supplements, and products like CBD oil.
Some of these people wish to avoid the side effects frequently associated with standard pain medication, such as damage to the liver and kidneys, while others have concerns about becoming dependent on such medications.
Alot of people take CBD for it's anti-inflammatory properties, but a good question is which is better for pain relief CBD or THC? CBD does not get you high because it does not have THC in it.THC is responsible for that “high” that people get from marijuana, which may also play a role in pain relief. CBD doesn’t usually cause an intoxicating feeling, but research suggests it, too, may help ease arthritis symptoms.
These two chemicals both show potential in easing pain, but in different ways. Choosing a product rich in THC, CBD, or both could make a difference in the kind of pain relief you experience — if any.
Here’s what experts say about the differences between THC and CBD for pain relief.CBD and THC activate different cannabinoid receptors in your body that can stimulate or inhibit brain chemicals and cause certain effects.
“We know a lot more about how THC works in terms of the molecular mechanism [than CBD],” says Steve Alexander, associate professor of molecular pharmacology at the University of Nottingham Medical School, who researches cannabinoids.
“THC activates certain cannabinoid receptors, one of which is in the nerve cells and the other is in the immune cells. When it activates the one in the nerve cells, it reduces the sensation of pain,” he adds.
The high that THC provides can also play a role in how people experience pain. “A little bit of euphoria can help us not care that we’re experiencing quite as much pain, much in the same way that other pain medications work,” says Angela Bryan, PhD, professor of psychology and neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder, who has studied cannabis and health.
CBD is much less understood than THC by researchers, although there is anecdotal evidence that it may provide pain relief in some people.
So On a review done in 2018, it assessed how high CBD is when it comes to relieving chronic pain. This review looked at several studies done from 1975 to 2018. These studies tested countless types of pain, such as neuropathic pain, cancer pain, and fibromyalgia.
Constructed from these studies and a handful of research, experts concluded that CBD is genuinely useful in lessening pain and did not cause any adverse effects.
So that wonderful plant seems to be making a giant leap in the medical world as trials and research is done. So once what was deemed so illegal and could send you to prison could really be a massive saviour in many people's lifes when it comes to pain and illness.
I myself smoked for years so at first when i thought about stuff with no THC i just thought it would be a waste of money. Thought people were grasping at straws a little bit, then i seen someone i know who was ill and how it helped aleviate their symptoms adn give a little bit relief. That got me thinking. Then my dog developed arthritis.I tried so many different things from turmeric to metacam and other pain killers.Nothing seemed to work! Every night he was crying in pain and i felt bloody awful. So CBD was my last hope with Mr Ollie And it has worked wonders there's a video at the bottom of him now in the garden.I have an illness to and i started taking CBD oil and that has helped me massively aswell. I decided to start this blog and couple of other things to get the word out there and tell people not to frown at CBD and to try it because if you are in need of a little relief from some ailment that's driving you mad. You are more likely to get it from CBD than a hundred different pills you are going to get shoved down your throat from so called medical professionals or pharmaceutecal companies that(have our best interests at heart). If that was the case this would've been readily available 30 years ago and not locking people up for it. Anyway it is here now and i urge people to be open minded and not let society and it's failures decide for you.
