“There is no way you’re going to be able to walk in those.” Yiren caught a glimpse of Mya in the mirror.
Mya wobbled her way out of the change room. “What do you mean? I’m doing it right now.”
“You look like you’re falling over.” Yiren laughed, turning around. “But I love that dress.”
“I know, right?” Mya made it to the mirror and stood, taking in her outfit.
They’d finally been allowed to leave the apartment and go do some shopping, and the two girls had wasted no time in heading to the mall.
Mya spun around, carefully, to avoid toppling over on her shoes. Her dress was strapless, with baby blue eyelet lace all over it and a slightly flared skirt. She’d paired it with a pair of giant white heels, which were, admittedly, a little bit difficult to walk in.
“It makes your legs look so long.” Yiren said, standing next to her and modelling her own leopard print coat.
“We should take a picture.” Mya suggested. “Because we both look super hot.”
“Okay.” Yiren pulled out her phone.
Mya posed, doing her best to make her legs look long, and resting her elbow on Yiren’s shoulder.
“Do you want to go get some coffee?” Mya asked. “Before we head back?”
“Yeah, that’s a good idea.” Yiren agreed. “I’m buying this coat. Are you?”
“The dress is a little blah.” Mya shook her head. “But the shoes...”
“You’ll break an ankle.” Yiren warned, disappearing into her change room.
Mya stepped into her own, stripping off the dress and boxing up the shoes. “We’re idols now, Yiren...we need to be able to wear high heels.”
“Those are too high for me.” She could hear Yiren exiting her change room. “But is that what you’re going to wear on your date?”
Mya tripped and stumbled out the door.
“What?” She collected her things, hugging the box of shoes to her dress. “What do you mean?”
“That guy you’ve been dating.” Yiren blinked innocently. “You’re going on a date with him, right?”
“I...um....” Mya fumbled for words.
“Is it not a guy?” Yiren exclaimed. “Oh, Mimi! I didn’t mean to make you...”
“No, it’s a guy.” Mya relented, sighing. “I just didn’t think you guys had caught on.”
“Oh, well, I don’t think the others have.” Yiren offered, holding her things as they walked toward the cashier. “You’ve been really sneaky.”
“Then how did you figure it out?” Mya asked.
“You got a text when we were watching Itaewon Class last week.”
“I got a....” Mya blinked. “You checked my phone?”
“I was holding it!” Yiren defended herself. “And the notification popped up. And you were in the bathroom. I didn’t see the name, just the message.”
“Which said?”
“Um...something about dinner and sushi?” Yiren offered.
Mya frowned at her.
“Sorry.” Yiren looked at the ground. “But I promise I won’t tell anyone. I  just wanted to know if you were wearing those shoes on your date.”
Mya sighed again, louder this time. “No, I won’t wear the shoes on my date.”
Yiren smiled slightly ,realizing that Mya wasn’t mad. “What are you wearing then?”
“I haven’t decided.” Mya admitted. “It’s at a kind of fancy restaurant and I have no idea what to wear.”
Yiren’s eyes lit up. “Do I get to know who it is?”
“Only if you’ll help me find something to wear.” Mya grinned, dropping the shoe box on the cashier’s counter.
“I will! I have so many ideas!” Yiren exclaimed, practically bouncing out of her shoes. Mya quickly purchased her items, accepting the bag from the cashier, and then Yiren rushed to pay for her things.
“Tell me, tell me, tell me!” Yiren whispered excitedly as they left the store.
Mya smiled, linking arms with her as they made their way down the corridor of the mall. “You promise not to tell anyone?”
“I promise!” Yiren grinned. “Please, you have to tell me. The suspense is killing me.”
“Do you know who Nakomoto Yuta is? From-”
“NCT!” Yiren broke away, doing an excited spin in the middle of the mall, “You’re dating a member of-”
“Shhhh....” Mya pulled her close. “Remember that it’s a secret.”
“Right, right.” Yiren was still jumping up and down. “But oh my god. Did you ask him out? When did you even meet?”
“At a music show, and no, he asked me out.” Mya laughed. “But you seriously can’t tell anyone. We haven’t even been on a date yet so who knows where it’s-”
“You guys are getting married.” Yiren announced. “There’s no way he’s not in love with you and - WAIT A SECOND! He’s the one who held your hand when you performed at the , Oh my god you guys are so perfect for each other and you’re both Japanese but you found each other here and it’s just so romantic.”
Mya just stared at her. “You’re not going to be able to keep this a secret, are you?”
“Of course I am.” Yiren seemed offended. “But we don’t have time to talk about this, we need to find you the perfect outfit.”
“Just a nice dress will-”
“We need the perfect dress.” Yiren corrected. “The type of dress that says ‘that’s my future wife right there’.”
“I should not have told you.” Mya decided. “but find, let’s go find a dress.”
“Let’s go!” Yiren grabbed her hand, dragging her into the nearest store.
