Some of them [judicators] are tied to certain faiths, but are exclusive to Vasselheim's high-end clergy. They're long kept as this secret force when they really need to flex on an independent scale.
–CR Cooldown, c3ep90
This tidbit along with Matt confirming that Otohan's DEX is 22 (something that was probably already known to numbers folks, but not to my shit-at-math ass) is already making Beacon worth it for me~

Well, it’s Friday night, which means @golikehellmachine might be doing a playlist post/thread and definitely means it is time for me to steal his bit.
What have I been listening to this Friday? Glad you didn’t ask!
1. Judicator - At the Expense of Humanity
U.S. power metal with a decided Blind Guardian influence. Trying to catch up with their catalog ahead of the new album coming out -- *checks notes* -- next week. Well, that’s gonna be a lot of U.S. power metal with a decided Blind Guardian influence for the next week, then, isn’t it.
2. King Crimson - Happy with What You Have to Be Happy With
I mean, it’s late-Belew-period King Crimson, isn’t it. You know what you’re in for.
3. Archers of Loaf - Reason in Decline
Surprised at the low score Reason in Decline’s got at RateYourMusic. I’m enjoying it pretty well so far.
4. Smith/Kotzen - Better Days... and Nights
Even knowing Adrian Smith’s side-band history of AOR and blues, the existence of a bluesy side project Smith started with Richie Kotzen surprises me. So this is another one of those projects which seems to have been forged by cross-pollinating random bands in my music library. But hey, so long as I enjoy them, who cares about the random-feeling factor?
5. Philip Bailey & Phil Collins - “Easy Lover”
Yup.
6. Soft Cell - “Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go? (Extended Version/Medley)
Tumblr won’t let me post more than five videos in a single post so you’ll just have to, cough, click a link for this one yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q84psZX6MbA
Recommended soundtrack for: the second issue of Dredd: Final Judgement, when Dredd has to venture into the upside-down Deadworld Mega-CIty One to fight Judge Death. All the low, whole-note synth bass tones in “Where Did Our Love Go?” pretty much just feel like they’d be weird horror music if you cut the main melodies out, anyway, so it’s a surprisingly good fit.
For the rest of the night: probably going to check out Nope now that it’s come to Peacock.

(299) Independent Music Special V23 - December Pt1
Disciples!!Christmas came early this year! We’re presenting you with an IMS for December before we hit January! This is part one, as we’ve gotten enough music to do another part 2 – so there will be 24 volumes in all when all is said and done. But enough of my blathering: Happy Holidays – whatever ones you celebrate – and stay tuned because we’re not done yet with 2023. Peace!

Also, the grid’s not exactly accurate -- The Interrupters should be ahead of Archers of Loaf and Our Lady Peace fallen off the bottom-- but after an hour and a half of no update at the site what I use to make these things, good enough for government work.
