“❤️🦈 TIGER SHARKS 🦈❤️ if you’ve been following me for a while you know how much i love free diving with sharks. i used to be afraid of them until i got into the water to try to get over my fear. That’s when i realized how uninterested in humans they are. since then, i’ve gotten to be in the water with so many different kinds of sharks, and it’s been a dream of mine to swim with Tiger sharks specifically, which i FINALLY got to do with @oceanramsey & @juansharks. there were 3 Tigers in the water that day. Roxy who is a 14 foot tiger shark was especially friendly. notice we’re not in a cage. notice how calm the sharks are. they’re not aggressively swimming or trying to bite or attack us. that’s because they are peaceful misunderstood creatures. they’re portrayed in media as vicious killers, but they’re quite the opposite. in fact, recently there have been shark killing competitions in the United States - in Florida, Alabama etc. Humans are hunting and brutally murdering these beautiful sharks who are minding their own business. For what? For sport, prize money and bragging rights. It disgusts me. It makes me so sad to see their corpses washed up on the sand after they’ve been thrown back into the water to drown. WE (humans) are the vicious KILLERS. Tomorrow in Alabama there is another shark killing rodeo targeting the great hammer head shark. Which is a critically endangered species. HOW IS THIS LEGAL? this needs to stop now. And big companies and corporations like @cocacola @chevrolet @iheartradio @yamahamusicusa etc need to stop sponsoring these horrible inhumane events. it’s embarrassing. shame on you. We NEED sharks to have a healthy ocean. If we continue to do these shark killing competitions they will be extinct soon and the ocean will die. And we NEED the ocean because it makes 70% of the oxygen for US to breathe. Sit with that.”

Awesome capture by cofounder @juansharks via @oceanramsey who run annual expeditions to Guadalupe, Mexico to work with white sharks. The expeditions are open to the general public, contact our office if you are interested in details for next years expedition! Repost @oceanramsey ・・・ ❤️ Photo by @juansharks Grateful for time to observe and study behavior, for these surreal glimpses into their world. Forever fascinated with sharks and shark behavior. We are on the boat and heading back offshore, back to the island surrounded with beautiful #great white sharks. I hope more people are inspired to further protection for #sharks around the planet, they are a highly misunderstood and under-appreciated marvel and vital component of healthy marine ecosystems. #learnaboutsharks #helpsavesharks #greatwhiteshark #whiteshark #shark #sharks #studysharks #marinebiology #grateful #discoversharks #blackandwhite #seasblack #sharkbiology #nature #fineart #conservation #conservationphotography by #JuanSharks @oneoceanglobal @oneoceanresearch Want to join me or my team in the water you can join us on a daily basis in #Hawaii @oneoceandiving or on our annual white shark expeditions in October. Repost from @juansharks. Lucy up close and very personable. If everyone had a chance to meet a super sized great white shark like Lucy, the perception that these animals are monsters would not exist. #ApexPredatorNotMonster #humans #need to #coexist with #sharks #helpsavesharks photo shot by #juanoliphant #juansharks using @aquatech_imagingsolutions @canonusa #teamaquatech #teamcanon #mycanonstory shot with a 1DX mark 2 Lens 24 to 70mm aperture 5.6 shutter 1/640 ISO400 #oneocean #oneoceandiving https://www.instagram.com/p/BqUZ6aSHSWX/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=owctj0upv7vc

My friends @oceanramsey and @juansharks had an incredible great white shark encounter yesterday! Yes I'm extremely jealous! Here is definitive proof...even the great white shark does not target humans as a food source or this wouldn't be possible! Reposted from @oceanramsey PHOTO BY @juansharks 😍😱🤭😳😍 Maybe my fav photo of me (@oceanramsey) and Shark ohana 🦈 of all time so far 😳😍😱 It’s so hard to choose, so many beautiful moments I am so eternally grateful for sharks please help save them. I am without words and at the same time I think I never stop speaking up for sharks, I am grateful beyond measure for my experiences and what they have taught me. This photo was taken yesterday off my home waters of Oahu, Hawaii when hey Shark I think I’ve met previously in Isla Guadalupe graced us with her big beautiful incredible presence 💙 I headed out with my team from @oneoceandiving (my ❤️ @juansharks ) and @mermaid_kayleigh @forrest.in.focus @camgrantphotography for a day I will never forget. I’ve been trying to get the bill re-introduced in Hawaii to ban the purposeful killing of sharks and rays and this just feels like the biggest sign to keep pushing forward for more protection for them. Shark populations around the planet are severely declined. They need protection from targeted shark fishing for shark been soup and sport fishing. Please speak up in your own community and help support international efforts. #helpsavesharks #savesharks #shark #greatwhiteshark #sharks #oceanramseyandgreatwhite #oceanramseygreatwhite PHOTO BY #JUANSHARKS #Sharkphotographer #Sharkarma #savetheocean #instagood Join me at my team to learn about sharks OneOceanDiving.Com @oneoceanresearch @oneoceanconservation @oneoceaneducation @oneoceanglobal @oneoceanhawaii @waterinspired New conservation benefit tiger shark biomimicry wetsuit by @xcelwetsuits #instagram #discoversharks #instagood #ocean #incredible #amazing #beautiful Photo by @juansharks 😘😍❤️🦈❤️ https://www.instagram.com/p/BstCjDEBW-I/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1s4bogl3npwv6

Great White Sharks are mysterious creatures and the world has been fed a lot of misconceptions about them. The reality is, although they can look quite intimidating and scary and are well equipped for hunting, they are actually quite polite, gentle and intelligent creatures. Each and every Great White Shark comes with their own unique personality and tendencies. - Words by @abc4explore 🦈Happy Shark Week🦈 #sharkweekeveryweek #sharkweek

Up close with this 23ft white shark named Haole Girl. This is 450 million years of perfection. Sharks have survived 5 mass extinction on the planet but I’m not sure they will survive humans. So many human impacts on our ocean but shark fining and shark fishing is one of the biggest problems. . Even though people in the west don’t eat shark fin soup, we help supply it. 33 percent of the shark fins come from Europe and Georgia is the biggest importer and exporter of shark fins in the whole American continent. . We need sharks for a healthy marine ecosystem. Raising awareness to the issues is the biggest factor for change to happen. 🦈🦈🦈 . #Repost @juansharks (@get_repost) ・・・ This is a Split image of Riley the tiger shark roaming the surface with his dorsal fin out. It so rare for us to see tiger sharks @oneoceandiving. In 20 years of diving the north shore, actively looking for Sharks, I have only seen around 30 deferent individual tiger sharks.. IUCN has tiger sharks listed as a threatened species with less than 30,000 world wide. Tiger sharks have a vital role in our oceans ecosystem, literally the garbage men, taking care of the dead rotten things that no other shark would want to. Also studies show how tiger sharks move different species in and out of areas , like sea turtles so they don’t over graze sea grass. There is so much more yet to be discovered about sharks, but we are running out of time at the rate sharks are being killed. World wide, humans have killed off over 90 percent of shark populations in just the last 50 years and continue to kill over 70 million sharks each year. You can make a huge impact on the survival of sharks by just asking were ur sea food comes from. If it is not sustainably caught from local fishermen DON’T EAT it. The long line fishing fleets are basically destroying our ocean and wasting resources with the amount of by-catch “discarded unwanted fish, most of which is sharks”. Some conservative reports of by-catch average 40 to 50 percent of total catch others report up to 80 percent on long line fisheries. This is not just about the devastation of shark populations, it is about the survival of our ocean. Most of the seafood consumed by humans comes at a cost to the environment that should be unacceptable. There is still a short window of time to reverse the damages but the time to change is now. Support local sustainable fishermen or better yet convert to a plant base diet if u can. #YouCanMakeADifference #Sustainable #seafood #stopsharkfishing #stoplonglinefishing #helpsavesharks #askwhereyourseafoodcomesfrom #supportlocalfishermen or #goplantbased photo by #juansharks using @aquatech_imagingsolutions @cressi1946 @xcelwetsuits @north_sails @guayaki https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx_QnJeAXnj/?igshid=1k4nsktugn6pm

Mesmerizing video from cofounder @oceanramsey taken on her and @juansharks annual Guadalupe trip! 2020 dates are now set, contact our office if you’re interested in joining one of the expeditions, and check out @savingjawsmovie if you haven’t already for more content like this! 😍 #Repost @oceanramsey ・・・ Words can’t do them justice, but you can, be a voice for those without a voice, speak up and #HelpSaveSharks Help save these beautiful and important creatures from the unsustainable and cruel slaughter of over 100,000,000 sharks for shark fin soup and just-for-sport in shark fishing tournaments. Write to your local law makers or even just stores and restaurants or marinas that support these activities or any company supporting the slaughter of sharks for fins, meat, teeth, jaws, cartilage, oil, etc. This slow motion vid shot a couple days ago, while it cannot create the same feeling experienced when this is live in front of you so appreciate slow motion to be able to replay and observe details, even the beauty of the pilot fish and their shadows as they glide along with the worlds most perfect predator. Annual white shark trips with @juansharks and @silenthunter_pty and I email @oneoceandiving to join us next October 2020 for an educational and exciting one week expedition to visit these incredible GREAT white sharks. #perception #evolve #sharkfishing #sharkfinsoup #perfect #perfection #dontcrackunderpressure #freestlye #slowmotion #sharks #shark #whiteshark #greatwhitesharkslowmotion #oceanramsey #ocean #juansharks #oneocean #oneoceanglobal #oneoceanresearch #oneoceanconservation @oneoceandesigns @oneoceandiving @oneoceansharks @oneoceanconservation @oneoceanresearch @oneoceaneducation @oneoceanglobal (at Isla Guadalupe) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4qGFwEHT9u/?igshid=1hliqhycop9ij

Repost from @juansharks PERSPECTIVE ❤️ Deep Blue going straight to @oceanramsey If you are ever approached by a large shark, this is how you want to respond to it, swim away from it slowly to give the shark space in case it is being territorial and always keep eye contact, never turn away and act like prey. So much more that needs to be applied for diving with sharks safely, to #coexist Ocean wrote a nice disclaimer for people wanting to just jump in the water with a shark like Deep Blue. Disclaimer: I highly discourage people from jumping into the water purposely with Great #WhiteSharks and TigerSharks and all sharks should be given respect as space as wild animals and PROTECTION from wasteful killing for their important ecological role. I work daily in the water with sharks as a shark biologist and teach public and professional safety programs through @OneoceanResearch and @OneOceanDiving and through a number of our international projects which also includes #greatWhiteShark research specifically. I try hard to replace fear with scientific facts and encourage a healthy level of respect for sharks as #apexPredatorsNotMonsters but not puppies…but not monsters. They are sharks and I love and respect them for what they are. Yes I absolutely LOVE sharks and have a deep understanding and respect for their capabilities combined with well over a decade of full time experience working in-water with them.  My life mission, passion, and I think purpose is to help further conservation efforts for them through research, conservation, design, and immersive and impactful programs and outreach. Please check out all the divisions of #OneOceanDiving listed below for more information and please help us to ban #sharkfinning #sharkfishing #sharksportfishing and #sharkculling around the world. I just found out the the bill to ban the purposeful killing of sharks and rays in Hawaii will be re-introduced this year in both eh house and senate following all the positive shark press that has come from this incredible encounter in the last few days. Mahalo nui loa (thank you) to all those who support efforts for shark conservation photo by #juansharks using @aquatech_imagingsolutions https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs0Rzr4nOZp/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1l1givw1q642l

At over 17 ft in length, perfectly proportioned and streamlined, Bella is one of the most beautiful female great white sharks found at Guadalupe Island. She’s easily recognisable during her migrations with her unique gill formation. The first time I saw Bella was on a photo taken by @juansharks when she swam along with @oceanramsey proving that humans and sharks can coexist. I felt immediately inspired and made me look at sharks differently. Hope you learn more about sharks too and you can replace fear with fascination 🙏💙🌊🦈✨💧’Bella’ in the making using white grey and black pencils only size A3
