Fic Summary: Kaz and Jordan are the definition of MLM/WLW solidarity and if I have to write the fic for it myself then I will - the coming out story and binding adventure of Kaz and Jordan
Chapter Summary: Sleepovers, pillow fights, and being teenagers
Excerpt: Sleepovers with Jordan became more common after she and Kaz came out to each other. Jordan’s mom wasn’t the biggest fan of Kaz, but she was a huge fan of Jordan willingly interacting with people, so she always smiled and welcomed Kaz in when he’d show up on weekends or after his shift at Mighty Med. Sometimes he’d show up at odd hours, after a long or stressful day at Mighty Med, bags under his eyes and too much weight on his shoulders.
wait do you think superheroes ever check out fan pages online about them to see what people are saying? Like check for fanart, incorrect quotes, etc? Cuz i think they totally do, esp the younger heroes. There has been so much teasing amongst each other about the kinds of fics they're in, showing off cool fanart of each other, confirming or denying the accuracy of incorrect quotes on twitter anonymously.
Also, kaz and oliver totally write superhero fanfics dont @ me
oliver wrote a self insert fic and paired himself with skyler when he was younger but got rid of it once he got to know skylar irl
YES!!! ABSOLUTELY!!!! NeoCortex hates it. Remix loves it. Megahurtz writes his own fanfiction. Gamma Girl has a wall in her bedroom with a bunch of fanart hung up on it. Horace and Incognito are constantly fighting about the different analytical essays that people write. Tecton and Captain Atomic don't understand shit. They all get super into it.
They TOTALLY write fanfiction for it. Jordan, Gus, the two of them, and sometimes Wallace and Clyde would get together and write some stuff together at the Domain on alternating Sundays.
Kaz saved it to a doohiggy/goober/whatever you wanna call it before he could. Oliver still doesn't know.
I don’t recall if it was ever mentioned in canon how well Kaz NoLastName did in class, but I frankly don’t care because I have exactly one take on the matter and no intent on budging no matter who says otherwise.
Consider the following: Kaz is that one student who everyone assumes has atrocious grades because he almost never has the homework done when the teacher collects it and is usually completely distracted in class. And yet, he manages to have at least decent grades anyway because he aces pretty much every exam and major project through ridiculous passive memory and deductive reasoning skills alone.
Everyone outside the Domain Squad just assumes he’s cheating because he’s famously good at a ton of sketchy shit and is rather open about the fact that he’s never studied in his life. But everyone who actually knows Kaz is well aware of the fact that he’s legitimately just so naturally smart that he barely has to try.
There were mild rumors all throughout high school that Kaz bugged Oliver into lending him his notes to turn into cheatsheets. Kaz himself finds those rumors absolutely hilarious, considering he’s usually the one who helps Oliver when he’s stuck on something.
The first time Jordan studied with the two, Kaz managed to catch an error that Oliver made on a math problem without even looking up from the comic he was reading. She had a legitimate existential crisis over it.
And I refuse to believe literally any other take because this is exactly how he managed to succeed as a doctor. There is so much precedence that even if it is stated somewhere that he’s barely passing anything, it’d likely be little more than some offhanded joke typecasting him as the resident “dumb one.” Which he is thoroughly established not to be (the only alternative I’d genuinely accept would be as an attempt to downplay how smart he is to minimize others’ expectations, which is frankly very in-character).
(He totally seems like the type to not recognize people due to glasses, superman style.) Kaz and oliver are very exasperated. (2/2) -💙
AFLKSJAKJJK I READ THAT IN HIS VOICE
But yes, that totally happens.
And then Gus starts heading to Mighty Med more and more often and becomes Alan’s first friend, so now Jordan is left out of it all and has this Red String Board™ in her room because ever since she has gone INSANE trying to figure out where they all go after school.
Jordan soon becomes the living embodiment of the conspiracy guy meme. The board is set up in the domain and none of the customers care enough to even question it. She has taken to watching everyone like a hawk, waiting for someone to slip. Bonus points if she sees Tecton walking down the streets one (1) time and she kinda remembers that one time she figured it out which only lights the flame even further. -💙
I feel like Wallace and Clyde watch her with popcorn every time she starts to work on it, and just pretend to help as well. They give out suggestions that end up completely throwing her off the trail, which ultimately causes her to go in circles many, many, many times.
a petty argument. Sometimes its resolved quicker if some of the heroes get involved and duke it out themselves. Sometimes if oliver and kaz r on their way to the domain, skylar will race ahead and start placing bets with jordan and gus. also 1 time oliver and kaz both had a loud discussion on catastrophe and how useless he is("hes basically nothing once u rip that necklace off him, then hes just 2 normal boring dudes)Wallace and Clyde are quietly seething in the background(2/2) -💙
Yesssss. Another thing they definitely do is discuss who unnamed villains and heroes are and how different plot holes could have been cleared up. Part of the reason why Bridget hates Kaz so much and doesn’t want him around the house is because, through a lot of digging around in comic book history, almost found out Mr. Terrors real identity (albeit a loose idea of it, exact details would have been impossible to figure out). Another time, Oliver ends up uncovering a dark secret of Superhero History while trying to figure out what happened to a forgotten hero from the 70s.
Who knew that normos at Mighty Med would be dangerous for the heroes?
