The Penthouse Headcanons

Hey!! This is my first post I’ve ever done. I never thought I would actually make one here but here I am😭 anyway I’m making this because I really love this k-drama but I don’t see a lot of stuff about it in here so I’m doing some headcanons….because I can

- Most of the Hera palace kids don’t know how to cook except Rona, Jenny & Eunbyeol

I just get that vibe from them. Minhyuk and his dad rely on their mom for cooking and cleaning. The twins have their own maid who does that. Seokhoon might know basic stuff but not enough. I definitely think Jenny cooks with her mom sometimes. Ha Eunbyeol learned to try and impress Seokhoon. Rona definitely helps her mom around the kitchen

- Seokkyung can’t sleep when there’s thunder and lighting at nighttime.

This ain’t exactly a headcanon, Seokhoon confirmed that in season 1? I believe. I remember he said that to his father. I just felt like this needed to be brought to light

- Shin Suryeon’s love language is definitely quality time. You can’t tell me otherwise

- Seokkyung and Seokhoon definitely find comfort and security in each other.

I feel they both suffer from nightmares due to multiple reasons so I can imagine one of them waking up to the other texting or calling in the middle of the night about how they can’t sleep, and the other person shows up at their room a few minutes later and they just end up talking or cuddling to sleep

- Mari definitely saw Rona as her own daughter when Yoon Hee died.

She took her in and even left her husband because he didn’t want to have anything to do with Rona. That’s some motherly love right there.

- Shim Suryeon took many self defense and fighting classes

Have you SEEN the way this girl handles Joo Dantae sometimes😭the lord knows getting into a fight with her will leave on the ground with a broken nose.

- Ha Yoon Chul takes Eunbyeol to go eat out secretly behind Seojins back

Seojin only has her daughter eat certain and extremely healthy foods that are “fit for singer”. Yoon Chul just wants to make sure his daughter can enjoy all types of food and take her out so she doesn’t stay cooped up inside the penthouse.

- Kang Mari definitely likes women👌🏾

I rest my case….

- Jenny had a crush on Rona at one point, but it eventually went away

- Yoon Hee and Rona have karaoke nights

- Min Hyuk had a biiiiiigggg crush on Seokhoon

That was actually revealed by min Hyuks actor that it was originally written for min hyuk to be in love with seokhoon

Summary: You promised your little brother to go trick or treating with him and his friends, but now their uncle is also coming. But maybe having him come along isn’t as bad as you thought.

A/N: Happy Halloween~~

"Y/N, You made a promise to your brother now keep it!" Your mother hissed in a sharp tone. "But Mom, that was before I knew about their creepy old uncle coming!" You tried to argue but she didn't budge.

A while ago you had promised your little brother to go trick or treating with him and two of his friends from primary school on Halloween, you were okay with that, you liked kids, but now you were told that their uncle would be tagging along. You didn't want to spent your evening with some random guy, who was probably in his thirties or forties.

However, knowing that you couldn't win against your mother, you found yourself in the living room a few hours later waiting for your brothers friends and their uncle to arrive, so you could leave and get the whole evening over with.

Meanwhile your brother was running around the room, jumping off the sofa pretending to fight invisible villains in his Batman costume. When the doorbell rang he immediately dashed to open it. With a sigh you followed your younger brother to the door.

In front of the door you found a handsome young man, who seemed to be around your age, maybe a few years older. He was their uncle? He could pass as their older brother. You were just staring at him for a while, completely dumbfounded, as your brother and his friends who were dressed as Superman and Spiderman were screaming happily while running around your front porch. "I'm Sangyeon." The man held out his hand with a friendly smile, since you didn't seem to show any intention of introducing yourself, just staring at him. His words pulled you out of trance and you shook his hand hesitantly, "A-ah, I'm Y/N."

Quickly rushing back inside to get out of that embarrassing situation, you went to grab your keys and some bags to collect the candy in. You didn't look in the mirror while heading out, but you were sure there was a blush spreading over your face. "Should we start?" you asked Sangyeon who was making sure none of the three boys were hurting themselves with all the energy they had.

"Nice costume by the way." Sangyeon remarked as you started walking. A nervous chuckle left your lips. Sangyeon was dressed up in a Suit and glasses a scratch adorning his handsome cheek, to look like Joo Dantae, a character from Penthouse.

His costume surely put yours to shame. Simply having taken an old bed sheet and cutting a hole in it to put your head through, to make yourself look like a ghost. You hadn't felt like dressing in anything fancy, because you had thought you'd be spending your evening with some old guy. It was embarrassing.

"It was very last minute. I was busy with college and all" You lied, excusing the poor choice of costume. "Yeah same, I had to lend this suit from one of my teammates." Sangyeon disclosed to you with a chuckle.

"Teammate?" You questioned, trying to get a conversation started to find out more about the boy you were spending your evening with. "I'm on the football team at my college.", he explained.

Turns out Sangyeon was going to a college that wasn't actually that far from yours. He was part of the football team and suddenly you were angry at yourself for never going to your colleges games, maybe you would have been able to spot him in the opposing team.

You were in different majors and he was already a senior, but it was fun to hear him talk about his experience in college and he was eagerly listening to yours. In between your conversation you made stops at different houses that your brother and his nephews were leading you to. Carrying the bags full of candy so the boys could run ahead.

After a while the younger one of Sangyeon's nephews grew tired of running around, yawning constantly, so Sangyeon simply swooped him up while continuing your conversation. It was cute watching how the young boy was starting to fall asleep with his head on his uncle's shoulder.

Eventually the other two kids grew tired of walking as well, complaining that their legs were hurting, Sangyeon started carrying them as well. His older nephew on his back and your on the opposite side of his younger nephew.

You had offered to help and carry your brother yourself but Sangyeon told you it was fine. He was strong, well he was an athlete after all.

The conversation between the two of you had died down, not wanting to disturb the boys that were falling asleep. You took this time to admire Sangyeon carrying the three kids. It was cute, he would probably make a great dad. "Where is his room?" Back at your home Sangyeon followed you to your brothers room to lay him down at the bed, before walking back out to his car.

"Wait let me help you." You offered to take one of his nephews and secure him in the children’s seat. "Thanks Y/N."

After both kids were secured in their seats Sangyeon gently closed the car door. You found yourself standing in silence, looking at each other under the dim light of the streetlights. "It was nice meeting you today Y/N." "Likewise."

It was awkward. Before you got to know Sangyeon you had wished for this night to be over as quickly as possible, but now you felt sad about parting ways. Watching him walk to the driver seat of the car you waved him goodbye from your position on the front porch.

He hesitated for a second after opening the car door, you wondered what was wrong when he suddenly turned around and walked back to you. "May I have your number?" He held out his phone to you nervously.

Your heart jumped with joy. He wanted your number! Did that mean he enjoyed the time just as much as you? With shaky hands you took his phone to type in your number. "See you soon." Sangyeon wished you goodbye for real this time by pulling you in for a short hug.

You watched him drive off with a shy smile on your face. Spending Halloween with the uncle of your brothers friends was not as bad as you had imagined.

PENTHOUSE: THE WAR OF LIFE

Season 1 - By far, still the best season. I started to listen to some classical musics just because of this. The plot was written beautifully and I really love how they wrote SuryeonxYoonhee mess. Tho the ending seems like it was stretched out.

Season 2 - Good but not as good as the season 1. There are few moments that I love. Especially the Seojin VS. Oh Yoonhee and Bae Rona winning the Cheongah music fest. And, Seojin moments with Eunbyeol in this season!!!! I think they should've ended the show in this season. The story should have start and ends with Seol Ah. And of course, the Cheongah music fest.

Season 3 - What a mess. Tho some of the kids have character development, the parents does not change a bit. I hate how they changed Seojin's character development. They should also put all the hate to Dantae. The plot become messy when Logan survived. Suryeon doesn't seem to be 10 steps ahead like in s1. AND THEY KILLED YOONHEE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEASON. Rona is the only reason why I keep on watching this mess.

I feel like this shouldn't be the ending. It looks like they adjusted the plot because of some shits they did. The show have so much potential at first but it went downhill and it saddens me because I was rooting for this drama since the very start.

6/10 (mainly because of season 3)

You know, there are a lot of things Seojin has done that are downright horrible. I’m not gonna name them here because it would make this post too long and honestly I would probably forget a few things. However, if there is one thing I’ll never judge her for, it’ll be for cheating on her husband. Ha Yoon Chul was a terrible husband to her. I love their dynamic in season 1 regardless, but still, it is what it is. I can still remember that time, in the first episode, when he humiliated her in front of their guests just for fun, and then, when they were alone, shamed her for not being an housewife like Suryeon. He never made her feel loved or at least appreciated while they were together (at least that’s what she says). And  she couldn’t get a divorce at the time, because her father had made it clear that she needed to stay married in order for her to become the new director of the school or something. So she really had no other choice but to stay with Ha Yoon chul despite the fact that they could barely stand each other. That’s why I don’t really blame her for trying to find love elsewhere while still being married. I just wished she hadn’t chosen a married man, and specifically not Joo Dantae, but it does make sense with who she is as a character, so yea...
