RIP to all the racialized characters on Penny Dreadful (2014 - 2016):

- Sembene (mostly exists as Malcolm Murray's sidekick a la Friday from Robinson Crusoe, died in Season 2 for Murray and Ethan Chandler's development)

- Angelique (her race is undisclosed but she was played by Jonny Beauchamp who is Latino, fridged in Season 2 by Dorian Gray, bonus points for being a trans character)

- Henry Jekyll (racebent version of the literary character, antagonistic, a misogynist and only serves Victor Frankenstein's subplot)

- Kaetenay (somewhat morally ambiguous, but like his predecessor Sembene, he only exist to serve Malcolm Murray and Ethan Chandler's subplots. Forgotten when Chandler and Murray return back to England)

- Alexander Sweet/Dracula (played by Mexican-American actor Christian Carmargo, the ultimate evil who exists to corrupt Victorian White lady Vanessa Ives' soul and damn her to hell, the dark counterpart to Ethan Chandler)

Y'all truly deserve better than how John Logan wrote you.

Shoutout to the demonising of Egyptian mythology on the show. You deserve an analysis worthy of Edward Said.
