also i absolutely love how this show is developing the plot and characters. it’d be so easy to have a big bad that everyone can throw their problems at but no! even the “villains” like tawan and big had nuance and backstory. it’s like pete said: there are no heroes and villains. there aren’t bad people, but people who do bad things.
here ends my original thought but i’d love to expand on it.
kinnporsche is managing to do alot of good with such an easily fumbleable? concept. do yall realize how bad this show could’ve been? there were so many things that could’ve gone wrong like being out-of-touch or being too heavy and all-consuming. like most organized crime-related movies and shows feel like the dialogue could just as easily have been from scenes in glee. but it found a way to balance itself out without being tacky or cringey. like thats crazy howd they do that. i think one thing i realized while watching not me is that there should be breathing periods within a plotline. even gun mentioned that the set was often very heavy with only one real day of reprieve. i felt that way too as each week was an onslaught of “oh fuck what’re they gonna do now”. on the other hand i get frustrated when a bl is laughing at queer ppl instead of with them. and even though i crack up every time kinnporsche switched from vegas electrocuting pete’s frankfurter to a lovely scene of kinn and porsche on their somehow still bright white? bed sheets, the contrast is refreshing!
