#jikook moments lately are insane though

Honestly, what’s so bad about caring about and loving Jimin only and not the others though? I respect and admire them all, I just don’t love the others as much as I love Jimin. OT7s seem to love crucifying “PJMs” or “solos”.
This is an old ask but everything is still valid today.
There's nothing wrong about it. Armys are just entitled and they want to control everything people do and say. Trying to dictate who you can love/like it's plain insanity. Even in a real life group of friends you don't care about everyone in the same ways.
Same goes for shippers, because they can wholeheartedly believe one member cares about other the most, but get angry if someone else believes a different thing? Either we all agree that they all care for each other the same or we're all allowed to have our own opinions about it.
They have it against Jimin solos probably because they've always made themselves known and spoke out. Also, because most of them are taekookers or JK stans or Taehyung stans, and that's self explanatory. Most of them are literally solos of taekook, but of course they have their little armys accounts and pretend that they love all of them. Then they log in to a different account and write defamatory pieces on Jimin. How many of those accounts lately haven't been exposed for liking a tweet from a Jungkook akgae?
The truth is that 90% of the people that like Jungkook, hate Jimin. And that's just how it is. Be it because they're taekookers or because they're JK akgaes, they have ALWAYS been the most hateful towards Jimin. But they pretend and make everyone believe their little ot7 act because they know army is Jungkook's only and biggest fan base. Even as solos they lick armys ass because they know who's pulling the weight. Pjms have never begged armys for nothing, and I really mean nothing. If they're calling them out about something, it's because army is supposed to be Jimin's fandom but not really because pjms like them or need them.
I'm not saying alllllll armys are bad and I actually defended them plenty when face came out because they also supported it, though only for a week and their support has never really been for the right reasons but well. Don't look a gifted horse in the mouth, I guess.
However, they can't see how much space they're giving to other solos to thrive in the fandom because they're only looking out for pjms. 90% of those "JK biased" armys and even jikookers are literally Jungkook akgaes.
I've talked a lot of times about the way jikookers have weaponized Jimin's love for JK; they used it to fight taekookers and others and Jimin only got hate in the process because it was an easy target, I mean it was already a weapon anyways. You only use a weapon to defend the person behind it, which was Jungkook in that case. They still do that, "Jimin loves him how could you hate him!1!!1". What does that have to do with anything.
They couldn't and can't use Jungkook because his "affection" was so easily debunkable. For most of the decade, they barely even had moments they could use of Jungkook being nice to Jimin. Jimin's travelling with him to his debut and posting about all of his releases and chart positions. Jungkook: one (1) single weverse live is all they got in 10 years lmfao.
And got hate too because I will keep saying it, people who like Jungkook, don't like Jimin. Pjms realized this long ago, that's why they're so against jikookers. They knew that nobody who liked Jungkook would ever be their or Jimin's ally. As opposed to Jungkook and Taehyung akgaes who have each other's backs -because they're both the same.
Armys have also weaponized Jimin's love for the members but against pjms. They use it as a reason for pjms to not love him, that's madness???!?!?!!?! All those tweets the last couple of days basically going "do you really love a person as kind and supportive as Jimin? Ha! It must suck for you." Do they even hear themselves.
By their logic, shouldn't they support Jimin the hardest? I mean, he's literally the only one who's supporting the members they love, so why the resentment? Why use that against Jimin and not use it in favor of Jimin? Let's not even go on what does that say about the other members support for Jimin. Which is close to being nonexistent. No, Jungkook watching lives to an audience full of armys and his own akgaes that despise Jimin wasn't support or promo either.

Dunno why I’m sharing this but I guess I’m frustrated today. I’ve been in the fandom for a little over 2 years, and a "jikooker". I don’t really like the label tbh, it sounds silly to me. To put it simpl, Jimin and Jungkook caught my eyes first and became my biases, and with time I came to the conclusion they might very well be dating (to which I have no certainty, obviously). Anyway. So I’ve been lurking here and there for about 2 years and I find it concerning how some Jikook-centered blogs are moving lately… like, it’s getting weird… As much as I love Jikook and tend to be over-fixating when I’m into something, some bloggers are so overly obsessed I don’t think it’s healthy. Like writing super long post overanalyzing every tiny little details, over and over again. As a grown ass adult, there’s something about it that makes me a bit uncomfortable, especially knowing those bloggers are adults as well (and no I’m not saying you shouldn’t have hobbies or be a fan of someone when you’re an adult, just the obsession pushed that far is weird imo but I guess that’s a me problem). I came here to see some cute gifs and edit and just crack jokes and I’m still a bit appalled by the shipping community. To each their own I guess. But what really confuses me these days is how weird some bloggers have become when they use to be quite level headed for what I can remember. I think jikook are a thing but these people are seeing signs e v e r y w h e r e Like just yesterday with the new Run Bts episode, so many jikookers who usually scream at other shippers about the importance of context and knowing Korean langage are interpreting Jungkook’s remark when they were by the Han river as a ramyeon joke (which he definitely joked about in the past) when it wasn’t one (he was referring to a certain type of ramyeon he wanted to it) or saying that he plucked his lips as if he wanted to kiss or blow a kiss or whatever when Jimin got close to his face when he was just pouting and about to speak… I dunno, it’s examples after examples just like this and it’s getting ridiculous. I used to enjoy reading some bloggers, now they’re not logical and down to earth anymore. Which is even more weird to me considering how Jikook have been acting lately. The more I see those two together, the more I think they’re "suspicious", or at least there’s plenty of moments that speak for themselves so why the need to interpret everything and see things where there’s nothing to see? I was very wary of shipping accounts when stepping into the fandom, and the more I observe shippers the more I come back to this feeling. Some people are way too much obsessed and involved, it’s just weird.
I only follow one other blogger whose posts aren't quite ship-focused, so I'm mostly in the dark about what's being said within the Jikook blogger community, but this is a common sentiment among my anons as of late.
From what I hear, it's a little insane. And on the rare occasion I go through the tag, I almost always regret it. From what I've collectively observed over the last year, a lot of these bloggers cater to like-minded fans, and there are certainly people who enjoy theorizing to that level of delusion (sorry not sorry). It’s not that I think I'm better than those people who want to engage with Jikook content in that manner when I say that, but I'm just not on their wavelength and I doubt I ever will be. I think a lot of that has to do with my long-standing aversion to RPS.
So I don't blame you; I understand how you feel and agree to an extent.
My feeling is that anyone with a platform should be careful about what narrative they're choosing to dig into because at the end of the day, these analyses are about real people. These aren't fictional characters we're dealing with, and to be frank, I think people’s approach to shipping fictional characters vs. real people can get blurred for some.
Real life isn’t as formulaic as fiction, but some people will analyze real people as though there are these cut and dry rules about how relationships work. I mean, yes, in real life there are some basic “if A + B, then C” type of equations with regards to interpersonal dynamics, but there will always be people who are exceptions to a common perception and shouldn’t be dismissed.

hello!
i've already read ur post about whether u think jikook will ever come out or not and i mainly agree with you.
but, i've just found this on twitter https://twitter.com/soompi/status/1456797909001850880?s=21 and i want to know your opinion about it, i mean if the kpop industry is slowly accepting it, could this have an impact on other gay kpop idols coming out, including jikook (well me assuming that they're in a relationship).
thank you :)
Hello!
Ask in reference to this post I am assuming 💜
I am for the most part not a fan of gossip sites like this. Lol its just not normally a great place to find information. If you click on the link though, the article talks about how they are showcasing their great friendship in this photo and their interactions of supporting each others music.
So is this really acceptance? I know nothing about these 2 idols or anything about their relationship together or their friendship. I can't give my opinion on it really, but if they ARE boyfriends, and one put out an I love you caption on this type of photo and all the articles are talking about is how cute their FRIENDSHIP together is.... is that really acceptance? If one of them was a woman do you think the article would be speculating on their relationship status or if it was a relationship reveal to the fans? Or would it still just talk about aww cute they are friends. Because I have a feeling what would be all over the headlines if that was a het pairing like this rather than 2 men. I mean, the Same idol Leo had a few years ago a massive dating scandal apparently for photos snapped of him opening his arms for a woman and then walking off with her with his hand over her shoulder. Literally that's it, thats all that the photo was. Yet this isn't even considered as a possibility of something that could be more than platonic. It's just assumed friendship because of them both being men.
Tumblr media
Not to mention that nothing I can find online shows either one of them are out in anyway or anything about if they are queer. So IS this coming out? Is this the industry being more accepting? Idk, I don't really think so. There ARE other idols who have come out and more open and explicit with how they have come out. Such as Holland refusing to debut with a company because they would have made him hide who he was, so he debuted on his own as an openly gay idol. Or Som Hye In who posted to her personal Instagram a photo of her kissing her girlfriend and saying she is Bisexual. Members of DIP Seungho and B Nish admitted to being in a relationship together and boyfriends since their debut in 2016. Maman openly stated she was gay and was later kicked out of her company for it. And all of these people have faced lots of discrimination for doing this and it's incredibly brave of them. I don't know these groups or individuals or anything about them, this is simply what I can find online.
DIP members Seungho and D Nish:
Tumblr media
No, my opinion really hasn't changed. I have this post here as well where I share a video made by 2 women who were or still are in the kpop industry as idols/trainees. They mention in the video about how there are plenty of lgbtq idols and how it's very much so not talked about openly.
As well as this post that I made about homophobia is South Korea and how far they still have to go
Not to mention again that Jimin and JK are in the biggest group in the world right now. Anything and everything they do is basically open for discussion and to be picked apart. They still have a potential military service to get through, they have the attention of the leaders of their country on them. Not everyone HAS to be a symbol for progression, sometimes it's enough to be open about your support for your community while quietly living your life as authentically as you can in a way that makes you feel comfortable and safe. And that is enough and and shouldn't have to do or say anything more. Do I think JM and JK are currently hiding that they are in a relationship? No, I think they are being quite clear and explicit about it lately. But they are also still letting things sit in a bit of ambiguity in the way they haven't and probably won't actually confirm anything. Just live they way they will and let those who see it, know, and those who refuse to see it, let them sit in their ignorance. And I stand by what my opinions were in that first post, if they ever do explicitly confirm anything, I don't think it will be until a long ass time after the group disbands, and even then, who knows. You can read my first post linked at the top here if you want to read more in depth over my opinion there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think especially after the moments we have been getting lately and what they've been saying to us, it's very much an "either you get it by now, or you don't." And they will just continue living the way they want to and chilling in their transparent closet. Lol
Hope this helps, just my personal opinions here though of course. You are all free to agree or disagree as you choose. 💜

A Jikook Guide to RunBTS: 112-121
Tumblr media
Yes, I'm still doing these! It's just happening more slowly than I'd like because writing for work + writing fic + trying to go to bed before midnight + so much amazing content being released that clearly must be poured over and dissected = less time to make guides. For anyone still with me, he's the next section!
Ep 112 “Dalbang School Part 1” (Ep: 5 / KM: 4)
The ones with BTS in a classroom driving Teacher Jin insane
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5:58 - JM declares that he and Taehyung will pair up (by being the first to hug each other in a game), but then when Hobi blows the whistle at 6:38, JK runs over to hug JM before Tae can get to him.
6:58 - Jin asks why JM said he wanted Tae and then hugged JK. JM explains that he didn't hug him, he just found himself in JK's hug as JK cackles in the background.
7:24 - When Jin blows his whistle at the class, JK and JM mirror each other in putting a finger in one of their ears.
7:35 - Teammates JK and JM are immediately on the same page about wanting their team name to be Kim Seokjin. When they have to change it, JM quickly picks up JK's suggestion that they call their team Bang Sihyuk. These don't sound like particularly unique moments, but when you watch it, it just really strikes you how in sync the two of them are in terms of physicality, ideas, and sense of humor.
9:52 - After Jin comments that he heard JM did very well in school, JK adds that JM was the top student. When someone else asks if JM was the best or second-best, JK forcefully reiterates that he was the best student.
12:45 - When they get a question right, JK and JM clasp hands and bump their shoulders together.
13:10 - JM and JK both goof around, speaking in satoori and challenging JHope to a fight of sorts.
13:27 - When Jin repeats that they got the question right, JK and JM do exactly the same as 12:45, but seated this time.
14:22, 14:36, 15:13 - In all three of these moments, JM nearly falls over laughing at something JK did that no one else found anywhere near as funny.
23:36 - When JK says he's good at this game, JM laughs and pokes JK in the chest with a marker.
BEHIND 2:30 - JM takes a selfie of him and JK with his personal phone while they're supposed to be paying attention to Jin.
6:35 - JK cheers on JM and calls him Jimin-ssi when JM announces he's doing well on this spot-the-difference round. When Jimin modifies the brag to say he only found four, JK says "that's still quite impressive."
Ep 113 “Dalbang School Part 2” (Ep: 5 / KM: 4)
4:50 - We all know how JK is when he gets into his "focus" zone, especially in a competitive environment. But here, when JM rather rudely interrupts JK's melodica practice, JK just starts playing around with him and giggles.
7:41 - As RM & JH take their turn, jikook are whispering to each other in the back row.
11:42 - After quickly agreeing on a lunch option, jikook do a high five / handshake thing and then JM says "we think alike" and "we get along pretty well." JK responds "that's exactly it" and the on-screen captions tells us they are a "good match."
22:20 - This is where JK and JM start switching back and forth carrying each other on their backs to get under a limbo stick.
They go again at 23:35, 26:11, and 28:13.
And again at 30:22 and 32:16 and 34:30 because, even though they lost, they want to try to do it again to show that they can as a "matter of pride."
25:00 - JK points something out to JM and then pats his butt.
33:33 - JM announces they lost, and then jikook do another handshake / high five thing.
34:33 - JM does an... interesting pose for the camera where he puts his hand on a bent-over JK's back and smirks.
34:56 - Yet another handshake and JM pats JK on the back when they finally pass the limbo challenge.
BEHIND 5:55 - While examining the limbo setup, JM comments that JK is good at this. JK comes over to give a demonstration and JM watches him be silly with it and says "he's a strange kid" fondly.
6:21 - Another jikook limbo attempt - this one was cut because they did it too easily.
Ep 114 “League of Number One Part 1” (Ep: 3 / KM: 1)
The ones where BTS play games with League of Legends world champions
Tumblr media
3:55 - After Jimin protests that he shouldn't be out, JK tells his hyung to turn around and face the back.
14:40 - JK fake-boxes JM after losing the hammer game.
18:18 - JK mimics Jimin's BWL intro.
Ep 115 “League of Number One Part 2” (Ep: 2 / KM: .5)
BEHIND
7:05 - JK comes over to check on Jimin's phone to make sure he's actually visible in the selfie the teams take.
Ep 116 “Team-Building Special Part 1” (Ep: 4 / KM: 1)
The ones with random games in that rec room-looking place that are a lot more fun than they sound
22:14 - JM and JK play around with the jump rope during breaktime.
22:26 - JM and JK play around like they're boxing with each other.
BEHIND 5:15 - JK appears to take an interest in watching JM's... back as he moves around acting out potential poses.
Ep 117 “Team-Building Special Part 1” (Ep: 4 / KM: 2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5:30 - Despite showing pretty much everyone else touching everyone else in the pose guessing game, we don't get a single shot here or in the behind of JK feeling up Jimin. The above photo proves that it happened, though, so definitely side-eyeing the editors, here.
BEHIND 5:35 - JK keeps throwing water bottles when they're supposed to be taking a group photo. Jimin pulls him back next to him and puts an arm around his neck. JK puts an arm around Jimin's shoulders in return.
7:51 - After it's explained that JK is staying late to watch Jin do his penalty, a packed-up Jimin comes over and stands next to JK, waiting until they're done to leave.
Ep 118 “Photo Story Part 1” (Ep: 3 / KM: 3)
The ones where BTS play a Samsung-sponsored game involving getting specific pictures while a spy tries to ruin the fun
Tumblr media
4:22 - JM appears to direct JK to go punish Tae and pats JK's back when he starts to obey. Something happens that we don't see when the angle changes - next thing we see, JM seems to be pushing JK? JM then giggles at JK pretending to beat up Tae. (After this, JK spins around like a ballerina. Not jikook-related, just adorable.)
29:51 - JK calls Jimin twice without adding "hyung."
32:28 - JM pulls JK along by the wrist. Meanwhile, J-Hope once again mixes up their names.
32:44 - Though there is now a group walking slowly together and he doesn't need to pull him along anymore, Jimin takes JK's hand again.
37:02 - There are a bunch of seats open in the room, but Jimin walks over to sit right next to JK.
BEHIND 5:40 - When JM tries to steal a post-it from JK, JK scolds him in satoori banmal. JM calls him out for not calling him with hyung and JK quickly apologizes (in a way some k-army jikookers have said is like how a married person would respond to their nagging spouse!).
6:09 - JK and JM meet up and JK tells JM he's exhausted. There's a kind of weird moment that I fully admit I may be reading too much into where JK seems to be walking right towards JM, then abruptly stops and turns, looking at the camera, before walking with Jimin in a different direction than he had been heading. Then, JM says he thinks their matching shirts are hilarious and that it's funny they're wearing them for the show.
Ep 119 “Photo Story Part 2” (Ep: 4 / KM: 3)
Tumblr media
8:21 - "You are me, I am you" moment: Jimin does a ballet spin the same way JK did in part one.
11:18 - JK is the only one to vote for JM to be able to keep a picture in other than Jin (who has nefarious reasons for doing so).
29:40 - JM goes over to help JK see how many of his photos the spy ruined and almost falls over laughing when it becomes clear it's nearly all of them.
34:21 - JM puts his hand on JK's shaking leg to help calm him (see above photo), but JK is so irritated that it doesn't work like it usually does. Poor bunny!
35:17 - JM pulls at JK's shirt and hand, then folds over his back while trying to get him to confess that he actually lost.
38:24 - JM has a comforting hand on JK's neck when he's acting upset about losing.
38:32 - When it seems like JK is struggling to come up with an ending statement, JM helps prompt him.
BEHIND
0:55 - JK talks about how amazing it is that Jimin found so many cards.
3:51 - When JK is playing with the sequin art on the front of his shirt, JM leans over and starts rubbing on them, too.
5:11 - Jimin tells JK that, if he wins, he's going to make the loser hike Mt. Achasan. JK asks why he's looking at him when he says that and they both laugh. Jimin pats JK's chest and they laugh even harder. Jin and Tae both have "omg, these two" looks on their faces.
Ep 120 “Reply BTS Village Part 1” (Ep: 3 / KM: 2)
The ones with a real-life Mafia game inexplicably set in a 1970s village. It's... fairly difficult to follow, but the guys are into it and the outfits are great!
Tumblr media
24:40 - Jimin breaks character and laughs when asking JK if he's the culprit.
29:40 - Caption: "The air is undeniably tense between Gamer Jeon and Chief Park." Not explicitly jikook, I just find it funny that the writers seem to be playing with some real life relationships, making sope best friends and jikook have tension that leads to banter...
BEHIND
5:34 - When Jimin is playing with the yo-yo, JK expresses concern that he's going to hurt his fingers (caption: Kook is just worrying for his hyung). Then, JK asks poutily and in banmal if he can play with the yo-yo multiple times and Jimins says no. Like, JK straight-up gives his hyung a command ("let me try that") using informal speech and no one bats an eye!
5:58 - Jimin starts singing a song about an ants. JK watches him. JK initially says to Hobi "look, he's a fool/dummy!" (in banmal again), then starts singing along. He jokes that JM doesn't know all the lyrics and Jimin says back "quiet, you."
Ep 121 “Reply BTS Village Part 2” (Ep: 3 / KM: 2)
38:48 - After having asked for it a bunch in the Behind of the previous episode, JK now has Jimin's yoyo.
non-jikook note: At the end of this one, they "time travel" to solve a mystery in Joseon-era Korea and I can't express how badly I want to see that. Please come back to that, Run!
BEHIND 0:58 - Jimin and JK play around accusing each other with exaggerated accents and formality. Jimin comes up behind JK and reaches out to touch his shoulder, but stops when Tae joins them and accuses them of plotting together.
9:05 - When JK says everyone else is so good at acting, Jimin compliments him that he was very funny towards the end.

chasing starlight {jikook | T | part 3/final}
It’s the middle of the night when an explosion on his backyard turns Jungkook’s life upside down. Through a mess of fallen stars, witches and the secrets his parents are keeping from him, Jungkook will have to make sure he’s selfless enough to make the right choice and ignore the way his heart beats faster for the boy that fell from the sky.

Jungkook doesn’t know why but he still screams out Jimin’s name, his voice echoing in the silent neighborhood and being swallowed up by the night.
It’s not long before he feels hands on his shoulders turning him around and he’s met with a very distressed Taehyung.
“What happened?”
Jungkook shakes his head, the image of Jimin’s scared eyes flashing insided his eyelids every time he blinks. “I-I don’t know, they… they just disappeared.”
“Who’s they, Jungkook?” Taehyung shakes him harder but Jungkook can’t even try to free himself from his grip.
“A man and a woman, they… took Jimin.”
Taehyung screams out at nothing in particular and the power with which he does makes Jungkook’s heart skip a beat, his voice sounding like earth-shaking thunder to him. That’s what makes Jungkook come back to reality and sends his mind back to work.
“Let’s get inside.” He calls out to Taehyung, who looks at him like he’s insane.
“What? No! I’m going after Jimin!” He says, already walking away.
“Yeah? Where?” Jungkook asks and Taehyung stops. “Do you have any clue where they went?” The star doesn’t answer but his silence itself is enough. “Thought so, let’s get the fuck inside and find help.”
“Fine.” He agrees, though it’s clear he doesn’t really want to.
Sooyoung is just turning the living room light on when they get back in. “I heard screaming.” She starts off, cautiously. Jungkook notices she looks behind him as if expecting to see Jimin there.
“Jimin’s gone.” He says simply. Taehyung makes an angry noise again and punches the wall, leaving a dent on it. “Hey, calm down!” Jungkook pushes him towards the couch and makes him sit down. “Breaking stuff is not going to help.”
Taehyung glares up at him but remains seated anyway. Jungkook rubs at his eyes and looks at the clock above their family portraits. Half past midnight. Where the hell are they supposed to find help at this hour?
“You need to go back to Hoseok and Yoongi.” Sooyoung finally breaks the silence after about ten minutes of them trying to come up with a solution.
“Right now? I’m not sure they’d be too happy about it.” Jungkook says, shaking his head.
“They won’t mind.” Sooyoung assures. “It’s your best option, Jungkook.”
Jungkook nods as he makes up his mind. She’s right. “Okay.”
“I’ll ask your father to drop you off there.”
Just before anything else can be said the doorbell rings. The three look between themselves, all thinking the same thing: who would be at their door so late at night?
“I’ll get it.” Jungkook says slowly, giving Taehyung a look to stay put before going to the front door carefully.
Jungkook puts his hand on the knob and hesitates but figures that if it was someone meaning any harm they would have just kicked the door open. He takes a deep breath and pulls it open at once, stopping dead in his tracks when he finds Hoseok and Yoongi on the other side.
“Oh! I was just going to your shop...” Jungkook says as he steps aside for the two to come in.
“Really? Glad we didn’t miss you, then.” Hoseok comments as he takes his shoes off and leaves them by the door, Yoongi doing the same. “It wouldn’t be the best idea to go there right now.”
“Why not?”
“Your pretty star has caused quite the commotion…” Yoongi explained, toying with his pink collar, the only splash of color in his otherwise all-black outfit. “Joohyun didn’t really believe it was just us at the shop that day. We have a lot of eyes on us.”
“Oh, I’m sorry...” Jungkook frowns and scratches at the back of his neck. He leads them further inside the house and towards the couch, where Taehyung is sitting watching them carefully.
“It’s okay.” Hoseok assures him. “We heard she caught him, though… We’re here to help.”
Jungkook feels relieved that he can count on them. Honestly, he had deposited all his hope on the two men and had nowhere else to go in case they refused.
“Wait, how did you even know where I live?” He asks when his brain finally catches up with the fact that he never told them that piece of information; or anything else about him, for that matter.
Yoongi smiles, his cat-like eyes shining with mischief. “We have our tricks...”
“Honey, who is it?” Sooyoung calls out as she joins them, apparently having been gone upstairs to wake Dowoon up since there’s noise coming from their room now, but stops abruptly once she sees who just walked in her house.
“Huh…” Hoseok mutters, head tilted to the side as he frowns. “I have to say I wasn’t expecting that.”
“Hoseok. Yoongi.” She greets slowly, sounding more surprised than alert, which calms Jungkook down.
“Sooyoung.” Hoseok smiles at her and even Yoongi’s lips curl up slightly. “You look beautiful as ever.”
“You know each other?” Jungkook asks. Even though she had been the one to give him the address of their magic shop, he didn’t expect them to be on such friendly terms.
“You could say that, but it’s been a few years…” Hoseok says, eyes back on him and he squints as if in thought. “Eighteen, to be precise.”
“How old are you again, kid?” Yoongi asks, not one to hold back his tongue and always wanting to get straight to the point.
“I’m eighteen.” Comes the answer. “And my name is Jungkook.”
“Don’t tell me…” Hoseok starts, exchanging a look with Yoongi. “Could it be? Holy shit, it really is a small world.” He mutters more to himself than anyone else. Yoongi only hums.
“Mom?” Jungkook looks back at her, expecting an explanation. At this point, he’s not even surprised that things keep coming up like this. “What are they talking about?”
“He doesn’t know anything?” Yoongi raises his eyebrow at her. “At all?”
“Jimin told him the basics…” Sooyoung sighs. “But not everything. He probably doesn’t realize it himself.” Dowoon joins them, then, but he takes a seat and stays there just watching. Jungkook knows, from the look in his eyes, that he’s not going to get involved in the matter any more than he already is.
“Realize what?” Jungkook notices he’s almost whining but he’s honestly kind of sick of not knowing anything about his own life.
“The necklace Jimin has been wearing?” Yoongi begins with his monotone voice. “It’s yours.” There he goes, right at it as usual.
Jungkook makes a face. “No, it’s not.”
“It is, honey.” Sooyoung says and he has to process that information for a moment.
“So you’re telling me the reason he was being chased after is the necklace, which is mine, so it’s my fault.” Jungkook assumes, running a hand through his hair as he starts beating himself up for Jimin being in danger.
“Partially.” Hoseok says, trying to make the situation better. “You can’t forget he’s a fallen star. They’re very valuable to witches.”
“Why?” Jungkook asks. He needs some time, needs to go outside and breathe, needs to sleep, but he can’t. Not until Jimin is safe again.
“Because we have pure hearts.” Taehyung speaks for the first time since Hoseok and Yoongi arrived. He gets up from the couch and joins them around the dinner table, where they’re all standing up. “They kill us so they can eat it and be young again.”
“What the actual fuck…” Jungkook mutters and he’s sure his mother would be scolding him for language if she wasn’t so worried about his reaction to everything. “Wait, do you…?” He looks at her with wide eyes.
“No, honey, I’m practically human.” Sooyoung answers quickly.
“And I refuse to kill innocent beings for vanity.” Hoseok adds when Jungkook turns to him with the silent question hanging in the air. “There are other ways to maintain our youth.”
“They don’t work as well as eating our hearts, though...” Taehyung comments, pursing his lips. It’s a test, words said to start something, and everyone in the room knows it.
“I don’t care.” Hoseok shrugs, not bothered by the star’s behavior. “I’m not killing anyone for my own benefit.” He looks straight at Taehyung as he says it and the other smiles slightly at his answer.
“Okay…” Jungkook continues, pulling everyone back to the point. “Why didn’t anyone tell me it was my necklace?”
“We’re not supposed to.” Sooyoung sighs, for the first time hating the rules they have to follow. “You have to touch it and realize it belongs to you. Though I think Jimin would have given it to you if he knew.”
“Wait, you never touched it?” Hoseok asks, surprised. It explains why he doesn’t know much but it’s still a bit of a shock because the two seemed close and he just thought he would have had opportunity to do it at this point.
“No, he put it on his neck and it stayed there. Not even when we ki-” Jungkook interrupts himself when he notices the murderous look Taehyung is throwing his way. He clears his throat and continues. “I never touched it. What’s the big deal about it anyways?”
“For you, as soon as you touch it, the necklace recognizes you’re its owner, so you’ll get all your memories back and you can choose whether or not you want to use its full power to become immortal.” Hoseok explains. Jungkook looks over at Sooyoung with his eyebrows raised and she nods at him. “It can be very useful depending on who you were as an angel. For the others looking for it, it can give them immortality, too, but only if they use it the right way.” Jungkook wants to ask how they can do it but decides he already has too much on his mind to worry about someone stealing what’s his.
“So… what? Do I get my angel powers back or something?”
Sooyoung smiles at the way he phrases it. “No, you’ll stay human and you won’t get any powers. But if you were a warrior, for example, you’ll surely remember your training.”
“Which means I can kick ass and get Jimin back.” Jungkook concludes like it’s the most logical thing in the world.
“He was definitely a warrior.” Yoongi says with an amused huff.
“You know what that means, right?” Hoseok asks Taehyung, a small smile on his lips at the star’s displeased expression.
“What?” Jungkook asks, looking between the two.
“He shouldn’t hate you since you two probably fought side by side before.” Hoseok says, eyes still on the star, who only rolls his eyes.
“He’ll make up reasons to hate me either way.” Jungkook waves him off, choosing not to stay on that topic for too long since it’s not going to take them anywhere. “How do we find Jimin?”
Hoseok looks over at Yoongi as he thinks and the latter shrugs. “Seokjin.”
“No.” Taehyung says decidedly and Yoongi rolls his eyes at his behavior. “Someone else.”
“You know him?” Hoseok asks, curious.
“He’s my brother.” Taehyung answers shortly. “Well, not anymore.”
“You’re the one that killed Namjoon.” Hoseok says, and it’s not a question. Taehyung only clenches his jaw and glares at him.
Yoongi scoffs. “Figures.”
“Let’s go to someone else.” Taehyung tries to move on from having to reach out to him.
“Seokjin is our best option, he’s been around for centuries and he knows everything that happens around here.” Yoongi explains, looking absolutely done with him. “If anything, he’s already getting ready to rescue Jimin himself since he probably doesn’t trust his selfish brother to do it.” He goes on, never one to care about how harsh his words sound. “I wouldn’t, if I were him.”
Taehyung looks offended as he takes a step closer to Yoongi. “You don’t know me.” Jungkook takes a deep breath and looks up at the sky for some patience.
“Thank the gods for that.” Yoongi snickers. “I mean, look at us right now…” His voice is laced with disgust but no one tries to stop him. “Your brother is probably about to get killed and you’re refusing the best option to rescue him for pride.” Yoongi’s eyes are so hard Jungkook would not want to be the one on the receiving end of that look. “I wouldn’t trust you even if my life depended on it.” He spits the words out right at Taehyung’s face.
Everyone in the room watches as Taehyung’s eyes glow a bright blue and he makes his sword materialize in his hand to point it right at Yoongi’s neck, who doesn’t even flinch.
“Enough!” Jungkook raises his voice as he slams his hands down on the table. “Yes, Taehyung is an asshole, we all know that, but I couldn’t give two shits about it right now.” He looks at the star, finding his gaze already on him. “Do you want your brother to be safe or not?”
Taehyung scoffs and puts his sword away. “What the fuck kind of question is that? Of course I do.”
“Then stop fucking around and let them take us to Seokjin.” Jungkook almost screams the words at him, hoping it will help him understand that he needs to stop being stubborn when Jimin’s life is on the line like this.
Taehyung clenches his jaw and clicks his tongue before he says, “Fine.”
The silence that follows is deafening and the tension in the room could be cut with a knife, until Yoongi breaks it by saying,
“Yeah… Definitely a warrior.”
Hoseok and Yoongi give them the precise directions to where Seokjin lives and stay with Sooyoung and Dowoon at the house. They offered to go but Jungkook denied, claiming he didn’t want to risk their lives even more and that their help had already been more than enough.
They hail a taxi not wanting to take Sooyoung’s car because they most likely won’t have a place to leave it while they go where Jimin is. The ride is silent and filled with so much tension the drives keeps throwing worried glances their way through the rear-view mirror.
Seokjin lives in a small house in a more secluded part of the city, with big front and back yards, surrounded by plants and with birds chirping every now and then.
They stop in front of it for a while before Jungkook risks a glance at Taehyung. The star looks like he’s one second away from turning around and doing things his way so Jungkook hurries to go knock on the wooden door.
Seokjin doesn’t show any emotion when he opens the door to find them there. “Figured you’d be coming here.” He turns his back on them and leaves them to close it after they get inside. “Though I must admit it still surprises me that you didn’t try to find him on your own.”
Taehyung glares at the back of his head. “Don’t start.”
“Can you help us?” Jungkook asks, trying to take control of the situation before Taehyung can ruin their best shot.
“Of course, I was getting ready to leave, actually.” Seokjin turns to smile at him, a completely different treatment than he gives his brother. “Any help is appreciated, especially from you.”
Jungkook pauses. “Why?”
“If we can get your necklace, we’ll end them in no time.” Seokjin explains as he goes around a shelf to look for something.
“You know it’s mine too?” Jungkook wonders just how many people knew about things he didn’t even find out about himself until recently.
Seokjin shrugs. “Figured as much when I had a talk with Hoseok and Yoongi about the two of you…”
“Okay, and… how does it work?”
“All you have to do is touch it.” He says while Jungkook listens carefully. “I’m pretty sure you were a warrior just by looking at you so that’s a good thing for us. Everything else will come back to you and you’ll know exactly what to do.”
“I’m not sure I’m ready to fight anyone.” Jungkook admits, the realization that he’s going into this mission seemingly unprepared finally catching up to him.
“You will be.” Seokjin smiles at him sweetly again, making Jungkook feel better with the reassurance.
“Can’t believe you’re our only hope.” Taehyung tsks as he looks around Seokjin’s house.
“I also happen to have your only ticket home…” The older star answers, ignoring the comment completely. “Aren’t you desperate for this?” Seokjin pulls an object Jungkook doesn’t recognize out of a box and Taehyung immediately reacts.
“A Babylon candle.” He reaches for it but Seokjin puts it out of his reach.
“I’ll give it to you with one condition…” He talks slowly as if he’s making a deal with a child. “When we rescue Jimin, you’ll let the little prince decide if he wants to stay here or go with you.”
Taehyung immediately scowls. “I can’t do that.”
“Then you better find someone else to get you one of these because this one will surely not be yours.” He puts the candle back inside the box and locks it, keeping the key around his neck.
“Seokjin!” Taehyung protests.
“Taehyung, he is not a baby, you can’t control him forever.” Seokjin argues. “Let him make his own mistakes for once in his life.”
“Not when those mistakes can lead to his death.” Taehyung shakes his head, seemingly adamant on his decision.
“Being on the ground is not as dangerous as they make it out to be.” Seokjin sighs; Jungkook notices then he looks exhausted. “We’re living in different times, Tae, things have changed.” It’s the first time he sees Seokjin talking to Taehyung in such a soft voice. “Let the kid live…” He says and looks at Jungkook as he completes with, “Let him love.”
Taehyung clenches his teeth and looks away for a moment before his eyes land back on Seokjin. “Fine, I’ll let him decide.”
“Good to see you’re growing up, Taehyungie.” Jungkook is sure the nickname is supposed to sound teasing but it comes out almost in a fond way from his lips. “And you, angel boy, you can’t come wearing that.” Seokjin says as he eyes him up and down. “Come on, I’m sure I can get you better than sweater pants and an Iron Man T-shirt.”
Jungkook frowns at his own clothes as he looks down his body to study them. Right, he didn’t have the mind to change from his sleeping attire after the whole mess happened. Great job, Jungkook.
He follows Seokjin to a room at the back of the house, most likely his bedroom, and sits on the bed as the star opens his wardrobe and begins his search.
“Are you sure Taehyung isn’t going to burn your house down or anything if we leave him alone?” Jungkook asks, mostly out of spite than anything else.
Seokjin lets out a short laugh. “He might be an idiot but I don’t think he would do that.”
Jungkook sighs, fingers tracing the flowery pattern of Seokjin’s bed sheets. “I just don’t see how Jimin can adore him so much. He’s not exactly the most pleasant type.”
Seokjin stops digging through his clothes to look at Jungkook. His expression is as neutral as one can be and Jungkook hates that he’s so good at hiding what he’s thinking. “Taehyung was initiated into a hard life way too early.” He begins and thinks over his words before he continues. “I was heir to the kingdom and Jimin was always father’s precious diamond so he was the one that was designated pretty much since birth to rule the army when he got old enough. He was able to enjoy part of his childhood like the normal young ones and he was always attached to Jimin’s hip wherever they went, so they’re really close.”
It’s an explanation, in a way, of why the two look like they can’t keep each other out of their line of sight. Partially, it also tells Jungkook why Taehyung is so overprotective of Jimin; it doesn’t explain, though, why he’s such an aggressive guy.
“But life started getting rough for him way before it should and he grew up in an environment that shaped the being he is today, cold heart and all.” Seokjing shrughs, finally letting some emotion slip into his eyes: sadness. “Jimin is the only one that can still get a glimpse of the kind soul he used to be.”
Jungkook thinks this over for a moment and Seokjin goes back to finding something for him to wear. Jimin is definitely the type to always see the good in everyone and Jungkook admires that on him; but it doesn’t mean he can just start to like Taehyung because he had a rough upbringing or anything like that.
“What’s your story?” He asks suddenly. Jimin already told him a good portion of what happened but he wants to hear it from Seokjin himself now. “Why aren’t you up there sending your soldiers down here to kill humans since you all hate us so much?”
“It’s not like that, Jungkook…” The smile he gives him is a mix of amused and sad. “It is true that most stars despise humans but we were never enemies.”
Jungkook raises an eyebrow. “Taehyung doesn’t seem to agree with you.”
Seokjin sighs. “Well, he grew up on the wrong side of the spectrum. Our army is full of radical conservative assholes who think they’re superior beings, and they managed to drill that into his head.” There it is, another emotion Jungkook can recognize: anger.
“And what happened between you two?”
“We had a great relationship.” Seokjin starts off with that. He doesn’t look like the same condescending guy that Jungkook met that night when he broke into his house. “When he started his training, he would come up to me for advice whenever things got too hard for him to handle.” He picks a set of clothes for Jungkook and comes to sit next to him as he finishes his story. “But I had my own responsibilities too. As heir, I was a spokesperson between us and the angels… Sometimes I’d come down here with them on missions.”
“That’s when you met Namjoon.” Jungkook concludes, remembering the name Yoongi used at his house earlier.
Seokjin swallows before he nods. “Yes. He was… as charming as a human can be, cute dimples and all.” He smiles, sadness seeping through every syllable. “Incredibly smart, too, he was actually a pure human like you, a strategist for the angels when he was still among them.” He stops to take a shaky breath. “I didn’t know stars could fall in love, but I did, and it was fast.”
Jungkook can definitely identify with that; he doesn’t know if it’s something to do with the fact they’re stars or just a coincidence but he sure fell fast for Jimin too. “How did Taehyung find out?”
“I started coming down way more often than I should.” He shakes his head, clearly still feeling guilty about the result of his actions. “One day, he gathered a back up group and followed me. Namjoon and I were sitting in his kitchen drinking tea when they barged through the door. There were soldiers yelling, some of them grabbed Namjoon while the others stopped me from getting to him, all while Taehyung watched.” Seokjin stops and when his eyes meet Jungkook’s he can see how heartbroken he is. “I didn’t recognize my brother that day, Jungkook. There was…” He swallows around the lump in his throat. “So much hate in his eyes. He killed Namjoon just a few hours after that and he made sure I was there when he chopped his neck off.”
“That’s…” Jungkook tries to find the words but he can’t, not able to even imagine what that must have felt like. All he can think of is that he would be devastated if he ever lost Jimin like this. “I’m sorry.”
“I tried to kill him next.” Seokjin continues, staring at the floor. “I always hated how heavy the sword felt in my hands so I never used it, but… I couldn’t, I-” He shakes his head. “I was also blinded by anger.”
“But you didn’t…” Jungkook says, trying to understand what else happened that day. “Kill him, I mean.”
“Aside from Jimin, Taehyung’s closest friend was the head of the angels’ army, Rahatiel.” The name sounded somewhat familiar to Jungkook but he couldn’t figure out where from so he let it go. “When I ran towards them with my sword he put himself in between me and Taehyung. I ended up killing him instead.”
Jungkook’s chest hurts as soon as the words come out of Seokjin’s mouth and with the way his lungs feel like they just stopped working all he can say is, “Oh.”
“Have you ever heard Taehyung scream?” Seokjin asks him suddenly.
“Uh, kind of?” Jungkook replies after taking a deep breath. He doesn’t know the reason behind that question, though. “Earlier, when he found out Jimin was gone. It’s scary.”
“When he saw Rahatiel’s body lying there lifeless, the scream he let out made the entire kingdom shake.” Seokjin explains. He sounds like he’s reliving everything inside his head right now. “I wouldn’t be surprised if even the humans heard it. I was sure he was going to kill me but the worst part is that I didn’t care.”
“What stopped him?”
“Our father heard about what was going on and came to the training grounds to solve the situation. There was nothing else to be done, though.” Seokjin says, getting up again. “I resigned my role as heir and fell, making a deal to never go back up whereas Taehyung promised he wouldn’t come looking for me.”
“Seokjin, I-” Jungkook doesn’t really know what he’s supposed to say but he doesn’t even have to worry about it because the bedroom door opens harshly.
“Is story time over?” Taehyung asks, eyes hard when they land on Jungkook. “Jimin still needs to be rescued.”
Seokjin sighs and hands Jungkook the clothes he picked for him. “Get dressed.”
It’s not long before they’re on their way to where Jimin is being kept.
Seokjin told them Joohyun uses the same place every time she needs to prepare a bigger and more intricate spell, so he’s sure that is where she took Jimin. It’s even further away from the city than Seokjin’s house but Jungkook supposed that’s the whole point of it, that no one can find the place where she plays out all her evil witch plans.
They can’t drive a car up there this time around, though, so it takes about another hour for them to spot the place. Jungkook studies the warehouse as they get closer to it, having only the moonlight to help him, noticing how it looks abandoned and like no one goes there in ages; again, it probably serves Joohyun perfectly because of that.
Before leaving Seokjin’s house, the three agreed that Taehyung would go in first and Seokjin last, while Jungkook walked in the middle. For a moment, Taehyung tried to convince the boy to stay, claiming he couldn’t be of any use to them since he didn’t know how to fight. Seokjin argued that all he had to do was get his necklace and that problem would be solved.
So they went, with careful steps towards the big wooden door that led to the inside of the warehouse, hoping Joohyun didn’t have many more big men with her like the one that helped her kidnap Jimin from Jungkook’s house or they would be in serious trouble.
Finally walking in, they hide behind some cages and study the place. The only source of light comes from candles that are scattered around, creating weird shadows all over the walls. They can see Joohyun from where they are, in the distance and going up a set of stairs making some sort of preparations in front of a table where, they presume, Jimin is.
Seokjin starts moving to his right while Taehyung goes to his left, leaving Jungkook to have to decide on his own who to follow. He surprises even himself by going with Taehyung.
They’re starting to cross the warehouse when Joohyun sees them. She doesn’t waste time in sending two men to get them, watching to make sure they’re both preoccupied before focusing back on Jimin; Jungkook doesn’t have much time to look at her, but he’s sure he sees Seokjin tackle her down before he’s punched in the face.
Jungkook steps back in a daze before taking one of the many random things that are tossed all over the place and throwing it at the man, managing to stun him just enough so that he can put some distance in between them. He looks back at Taehyung and sees that he’s still dealing with the other guy so he has to do this on his own, going forward throwing punches and kicks as best as he can without getting too hurt himself.
There’s the sound of a body falling to the floor and what’s definitely Taehyung’s thunder-like voice yelling “Watch out!” before Jungkook feels a sharp sting on his arm. He pushes the man that’s coming at him away just enough so he can turn to see what hit him and finds yet another one of Joohyun’s men, but this one is carrying a machete as he runs at him at full speed.
There’s barely even time for Jungkook to blink before Taehyung is pushing him out of the way and receiving the hit himself, his blood coming out of him in quick spurts as his body falls right at his feet.
Jungkook watches in horror as the man pulls the machete out of Taehyung’s body and looks straight at him. He’s going to die, he can feel it.
His only regret is not being able to tell Jimin that he’s in love with him.
“Jungkook!” He spins around, purely on automatic after hearing his name, when he hears Seokjin call out for him, fast reflexes acting up to catch whatever it is that he throws at him.
Time stops as soon as he touches the delicate jewel he recognizes now.
The necklace. His necklace.
When Jungkook thought about what it would feel like getting his memories from a past life back, he imagine it would be like watching a movie. He thought he would see the images in the back of his mind, of moments he lived and places he’s been, passing through one by one until he got everything. Instead, he’s bombarded with all his memories at once in a jumbled mess of colors and sounds; and somehow, he recognizes them all separately.
He can tell there’s an explosion of light of which he’s the center and when he opens his eyes, the two men that were running to attack him are just getting up, confused about what just happened. Jungkook doesn’t hesitate before he takes Taehyung’s sword from where it landed next to him and goes full force at the one that’s closest to him.
His human brain is still trying to fully process what’s going on but his subconscious moves around like second nature, as if he’s trained years to be able to fight like this; and, in a way, he supposes he has. The weapon feels great in his hands and there is not a single doubt in Jungkook’s mind that he was born to do this.
It takes a total of thirty seconds for the two men to fall, the sound of their limp bodies hitting the ground echoing around the warehouse. Jungkook runs towards where Jimin and Seokjin are now cornered by Joohyun as she recites some words, her back on him as he climbs up the stairs.
A voice in the back of his head complains about missing his wings but Jungkook doesn’t have time to dwell on it right now.
He stops when he hears a big noise behind him and turns around just in time to see a fire starting right where Taehyung is still lying down. The structure of the warehouse, made out of wood, is starting to give in and Jungkook knows he has to act fast if he wants to get everyone out of there as safely as possible – and, in Taehyung’s case, alive.
Objects from all around the place start flying in Jungkook’s direction, most likely commanded by Joohyun, and he has to be careful not to get hit by any of them before he has the chance to take her down.
When Jungkook finally reaches the top of the stairs, Joohyun has magically trapped Seokjin against the wall – where he’s seemingly choking if his red face is anything to go by – and Jimin under her tight hold on his neck as her long nails leave marks on his soft skin.
There isn’t even one moment of hesitation on Jungkook’s part before he takes the sword and slices it across her body just above her shoulders. Her head rolls down the set of stairs and her blood splatters all over Jimin’s terrified face, staining him in a way that’s most likely going to be more than just physical.
They exchange a look and all Jungkook wants to do is hold him tight in his arms. But he can’t. Not right now.
Seokjin falls to the ground with a thud and all the things flying in Jungkook’s direction do, too.
“We have to go.” Jungkook says, eyes already on Taehyung, who managed to drag his body away from the fire, leaving a trail of his own blood behind.
Jungkook takes a still panicked Jimin by the hand and runs down the stairs to where his brother is, looking behind him to make sure Seokjin is following closely. Both stars stop in pained shock when they see the state Taehyung is in, neither having seen the moment one of Joohyun’s men got to him.
Still, with his mind working fully on automatic, Jungkook doesn’t even spare them a glance as he picks Taehyung’s weak body from the ground carefully and carries him outside. The building is on fire, they can’t be bothered to stop like this.
It’s cold when they step out of the warehouse, the middle of the night atmosphere catching up to them even though it’s probably not long before dawn at this point.
When they reach a safe distance from the building that’s falling apart, Jungkook finally puts Taehyung down. Jimin is the first to come closer.
“No…” Jimin whispers as he kneels beside Taehyung, cradling his face in his small hands with tears already pooling in his eyes. “What did you do?”
“He… he saved me.” Jungkook says, human brain finally coming up for air in the middle of his subconscious angel behavior. He suddenly feels overwhelmed.
“Minie…” Taehyung tries to speak but he chokes on his own blood and ends up coughing instead of talking. “For you.” That’s the only thing he manages to croak out.
Jimin sobs when he understands what he means and only then Jungkook believes what Seokjin told him earlier about Taehyung not being selfish.
“Back off, the two of you.” Jimin says suddenly and he dries his tears with a serious look on his face. He exchanges a meaningful look with Seokjin, who seems to know what he’s about to do, while Jungkook stands there completely lost.
“Come on, Jungkook.” Seokjin pulls him by the arms until he catches up with him and leads him to a safe distance from the two brothers still on the ground. “Close your eyes.” He says before covering Jungkook’s eyes himself.
“Jiminie, no…” Taehyung protests but it’s no use; Jimin has already made his decision.
“Hey, Tae, answer me this: what do stars do?” He asks as he holds his brother’s face between his hands and leans their foreheads together.
“Shine.” They say together.
Even with his sight blocked by Seokjin’s hand, Jungkook can still see the brightness behind it. He feels the explosion of light that surrounds them, just like the one from the night Jimin fell on his backyard, and then, as fast as it started, it’s over.
When he reopens his eyes, both Jimin and Taehyung are passed out in front of them.
Jungkook runs to Jimin and falls to his knees next to him right as Taehyung sits up with a start, eyes glowing a bright blue. Seokjin approaches carefully and places a hand on the star’s shoulder as if to ask if he’s okay; Taehyung nods curtly at him, eyes falling on Jimin’s body.
Before Jungkook can even start to panic about Jimin not waking up, he chokes searching for air and opens his eyes, now a pretty shade of brown that’s different from the grayish blue Jungkook got used to.
Jimin’s gaze fixates on him and he gasps. “Oh.” His voice sounds somewhat different to Jungkook’s ears, too, but he can’t tell why. “You’re much more beautiful like this…”
Jungkook frowns at the same time he feels his cheeks heating up, completely taken aback by the comment at a time like this. “W-what?”
“He’s human now.” It’s Seokjin who speaks, while Jimin seems lost in Jungkook’s face, studying every inch of him as if it’s the first time he’s seeing him. “His entire being changed, and that includes his senses. It might take a while for him to get used to it.”
“You’re… human?” Jungkook asks, heart beating faster because somewhere inside his brain he knows Jimin can’t go back to the sky anymore.
“Yeah, I…” Jimin starts, for the first time looking at his brother sitting next to him. “I gave up my starlight to heal Taehyung.”
“You shouldn’t have.” Taehyung scolds, as if he wouldn’t have been dead if it wasn’t for Jimin’s sacrifice.
“Would you rather have died?” Seokjin voices Jungkook’s thoughts but he’s ignored.
“I can’t take you home now.” Taehyung continues staring at Jimin.
“I wouldn’t have gone anyway…” Jimin says softly as if not to piss him off. “I want to stay here, Tae.” He adds, just to make sure his point is made. “And I’m human now, it’s not dangerous for me anymore.”
Jungkook’s mind is spinning. His human and angel lives and memories are finally melding into one and Jimin just said he’s staying on the ground. Sure, he’s most likely going to live with Seokjin but still; he’s not losing him forever.
Taehyung only sighs but doesn’t say anything as he gets up. It’s not like he has a choice anyways.
“Can I still have that candle?” He asks Seokjin, who smiles softly at him.
“Let’s go get it for you, TaeTae.” The nickname slips from him easily and Taehyung gulps when he hears it, but doesn’t say anything after staring at Seokjin for a good minute.
“Can you give me my sword back?” Taehyung talks to Jungkook instead, who takes off Taehyung’s belt he picked up from the ground and hands it to him, the weapon firmly attached to it.
Their eyes meet when he passes it over and it all comes together at once.
“Jungkook… are you okay?” Jimin asks when he doesn’t follow him as they start walking.
“Yeah, I just…” His head tilts to the side quickly before he looks up. “I remember you now.”
“Oh, that’s right, you got all your memories from your past life.” Seokjin remembers. “Who were you?”
Jungkook makes sure his eyes are trained on them as he says the name. “Rahatiel.”
The three express different reactions. Jungkook knows what each of them mean.
“Are you serious?” Taehyung chokes out, the first to break the silence and taking a couple of steps towards him. He looks like he’s about to go into shock; it’s the first time – in his human life – that he sees Taehyung wear his heart on his sleeve like this.
“Good to see you again, Taehyung.” Jungkook lets himself smile, voice heavy with the memories. “Even though you hate me now because I’m human.” He jokes, trying to lighten the mood.
“You died for me.” It comes as a whisper but in the dead silent of the night, everyone can hear it.
“Guess we’re even now, huh?”
The hug that Jungkook is pulled into comes out of nowhere and startles everyone. It takes a moment for Jungkook to gain back his senses after the initial shock and wrap his arms around Taehyung. He looks over at Jimin and their eyes meet before Jimin smiles at him, the happiest Jungkook has ever seen him.
The wave of relief that he feels hugging Taehyung feels out of place at the same time that it feels like going back home. As an angel, he never got to say goodbye properly but he remembers their friendship perfectly and he doesn’t regret giving his life for him. All the bad feelings he had towards Taehyung disappeared now that he knows who he is and what they went through as soldiers that fought side by side and as children that were put into leadership positions way too soon.
“Take care of my brother.” Taehyung says after he pulls away, voice heavy with all the emotions he’s been suppressing for so long.
“Will do.” Jungkook assures him. “And you, don’t be so hard on yourself.” He asks of the star, remembering how close they used to be and all the things Taehyung confided in him. “Stop being so scared of living your own life. You’re great at what you do, but you shouldn’t live for the war.” Taehyung nods, surprised that he remembers even those little talks where he let all his frustrations out to his best friend. “And...” Jungkook pulls him close until he can whisper in his ear. “Forgive Seokjin.”
Taehyung doesn’t react to the words but the look he exchanges with Jungkook is enough answer for him.
And speaking of Seokjin, he’s slowly coming closer too, almost scared to approach.
“Jungkook...” He chokes out, not trying to stop the tears filling his eyes like Taehyung did.
“Don’t.” He stops him before he can continue. “Don’t even think about apologizing.”
Seokjin sobs.“I killed you.” He whispers, not having the strength to admit it out loud.
“It doesn’t matter anymore.” Jungkook assures him, holding him by the shoulders carefully. “I heard your side of the story, it’s okay.”
“It’s really not.” The tears are streaming down his face freely now and Jungkook pulls him into a hug.
“I can see you honestly regret it, Seokjin.” He says without letting go. “Don’t beat yourself up for it, leave it in the past. Besides, if you hadn’t killed me I wouldn’t be here right now and I wouldn’t have Jimin.” Jungkook pulls away to look at him with a smile, Seokjin doing the same even if it’s subdued by his crying. “So I guess you did me a favor in the end.”
“I-” Seokjin tries to speak but Jungkook shakes his head.
“Really, it’s okay.” He pats him on the back once more before letting go. “Let’s go home.”
Jungkook expects Jimin to say something but he only smiles and stretches out his hand for him to hold, which he does more than happily. Their fingers intertwine automatically and it feels like they were made to be like that.
The sun is shining when Jimin and Jungkook finally ring the doorbell at Jungkook’s house. They stopped at Seokjin’s so that they could get cleaned up from all the blood and dirt all over their bodies, Jungkook getting his clothes back and Jimin borrowing some from his brother.
Taehyung decided it was time for him to go back and they said their goodbyes, once again turning emotional when Taehyung pulled Seokjin into a tight hug before lighting up the Babylon candle and leaving.
Sooyoung starts crying as soon as she opens the door to find them there, wrapping her arms around both of them at the same time as she talks about how relieved she is that they’re home and fine.
Hoseok and Yoongi, who are surprisingly still there, also look pleased that they’re safe, welcoming them with warm smiles and words. Dowoon shoots Jungkook a stern look but he holds his son in his arms as he takes a deep breath into their hug, doing the same with Jimin and shocking both of them with the action.
They eat breakfast before Jungkook pulls Jimin up to his room, body aching and begging for some rest.
They’re lying in bed, Jimin’s body almost completely on top of Jungkook’s when Jimin asks,
“Do you remember me?”
Jungkook smiles. He was expecting that question. “Of course.”
“You wouldn’t stop flirting with me.” Jimin giggles against his chest, playing with the strings on his hoodie as his mind goes back to a good two hundred years ago.
“Taehyung hated me for it.” Jungkook huffs, amused. “But he wouldn’t stop talking about you and you were always around when I went to see him, so obviously I payed attention.”
Jimin raises his head to look at him. “Did you do it just to spite him?”
“Flirt with you? Of course not.” Jungkook answers honestly. “You were the most beautiful of them all, star or angel, no one compared to you.” He watches as a smile blooms on Jimin’s face, growing until it reaches his eyes. “That’s still true, by the way.” He touches his cheek when a blush paints itself across them.
“I wish we could’ve been closer.” Jimin pouts.
“I don’t.” Jungkook disagrees. “You would have suffered a lot with my death.”
“Taehyung did… I almost didn’t recognize him.” Jimin frowns as he remembers the way his brother was during that time. “You know, he swore to kill Seokjin if he ever saw him again.”
Jungkook shook his head, hands softly going up and down Jimin’s sides to calm both of them down from the bad memories. “It’s awful what hate can do...”
“Yeah…” Jimin agrees with a sigh before looking up at Jungkook expectantly. “So what now?”
“You’re staying with me, right?” Jungkook risks asking, even though they didn’t really define whether he would stay with Seokjin or not. “I’m moving to Seoul for university in about a week and I wouldn’t mind having some company.”
Jimin smiles, moving so he can peck his lips shyly. “Of course I’m staying. I’m talking about the necklace, though…” He makes a dramatic pause. “Do you want to be immortal?”
“Only if it’s with you.” Jungkook says without hesitation.
“I’m definitely on board with that.” Jimin says, feeling warmth spread all over his body at the feeling of being so wanted like this.
“Let’s not worry about that yet, though…” Jungkook sighs, squeezing Jimin’s waist and loving how warm he feels close to him like this. “I’m not sure I want to be stuck in my eighteen-year-old body forever.” Jimin giggles at the face he makes. “For now...” He takes the necklace from his nightstand and puts it around Jimin’s neck. “I know you’ll keep it safe for me.”
no man can live forever
except he, who possesses the heart of a star
and Jimin had given his to Jungkook completely
and they still live
happily ever after

What do you think about KM's laundry in bv s2? I believe that's higly exagerated to assume that "laundry" is a criptic word to call KM's possible cuddle at that precise moment
Hey, Anon. I’m finally back and the blog will pick up speed yet again, starting with your ask.
For those who don’t know (doubt there are many people but still), we’re talking about this moment from BV2 Ep. 7 (5:15):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you all know, doing “laundry” is a popular euphemism for sex (one that is used even in “Friends” - a show that Namjoon is a fan of). Personally, I’ve always liked this moment and see it as a great inside joke for our part of the fandom and testimony of closeness rather than taking it as proof of sex or something of the sort. It can be argued exactly what JK’s answer means (did KM did laundry or “laundry”) but I think they really did wash clothes that night though I don’t know why they would do that at 4 in the morning or why they’d do the laundry of the other members as well. Maybe they lost a bet or are super good bandmates? In any case, it’s highly possible their night included doing the laundry but the more interesting question is what else did it include.
Do I believe they stayed up specifically and only to do chores? No. Jimin and Jungkook are known for being night owls and “all-nighter friends”. I assume they often stay up just doing their own things in their own world. I don’t see why the laundry couldn’t have been one of those things but I hightly doubt it was the main (or sole) reason for them to stay up late. After all, they could’ve done it earlier at say 11 p.m and still go to bed if they really wanted do. Yet they didn’t.
Did they only do laundry? Obviously no. Washing clothes in an automatic washing mashine (one that NJ so kindly provided he heard the noises of) takes about a total of 2 minutes for loading it and an hour or two waiting for it to be done. Unless Jimin and Jungkook spend those 2 hours sitting in front of it and watching the clothes spin in silence, I’d say it’s pretty logical they had to enterntain the time somehow even if they were only awake because of the laundry. They could’ve done a number of things - watching videos, dancing, singing, playing games etc. I’m sure they have lots of fun ways to spend their time together considering how often they are in each other’s company by themselves (Chuseok alone, anyone?).  Of course they could’ve been doing other, more “adult” stuff while waiting too, like drinking or stip poker or sex for example. We’ll never know but we can say just doing laundry is not something to occupy 4 hours of your night with (12 am - 4 am)
What’s up with JK’s answer? Well, maybe they really did nothing important or interesting relaying hence the first thing JK thought of was this. Maybe they didn’t do anything very salacious but JK didn’t feel like sharing what they did at that moment anyway so he didn’t. Or maybe they really did something interesting and.. spicier and this was the safest thing to come up with at the spot. The way JM kind of couldn’t answer immediately and JK took over might be a sign for that or it might not be. Though I kind of get weird vibes from the whole convo and especially from Namjoon casually mentioning the “laundry noises” he heard and Jimin confirming that in the morning the clothes were indeed clean. I mean, no-one needed your confirmation but thank you for providing it, I guess? Though one can say they simply wanted to contribute to the converstation and make it smoother (it kind of got more awkward but okay).
As I said, I don’t belive “laundry” here was an euphemism for “sex” as JK specifically said they did “your” laundry as in the other members’ but this doesn’t necessarily mean that the moment is debunked. A number of things are possible to have happened while the washing mashine was on (sadly not all of them are making out). Maybe KM were out doing something, like exploring Hawaii on their own, or going to a bar or a club. A reasonable explanation is that they were drinking (at home or outside) and couldn’t share that as JK was still not legally allowed to drink alchohol in the USA. If they are hiding something with that answer, it doesn’t have to be making out. Though no-one can proove they didn’t make out so it still could be. No way to know.
In all possible cases, I still like this moment a lot. If KM did something (steamy or not) that they (and the other members) didn’t want to/couldn’t share, then awesome! We’ll add this to the pile of “Secret Jikook things we’ll probably never know the answer to”, where “KM alone in Las Vegas after the BBMAs” currently happily resides along with “Jungkook’s secret gift for JM’s birhtday”, “What happened in Osaka and who really was in JK’s room”, “Nagoya”, “Did something happen in Tokyo?”, “Jikook alone in the room MAMA 2015″ and many more. What’s one more cryptic thing to add to the list, right?
But if KM really truly just did laundry and killed the time until their clothes were clean, I’d still like this moment a lot. Why? Well, because doing laundry is a very mundane and boring thing. It also doesn’t requite two people. One of them could’ve easily gone to bed or found something more interesting to do with his time and yet they stayed together. Doing chores. That don’t really need two sets of hands. In their vacation time. I mean, it’s pretty awesome that they like each other’s company so much that they wouldn’t separate even in this case. They really must love spending time together (not that that’s something new but it is a nice reminder for some people).
This is also not the first time we hear of them doing “laundry” together in BV2. A couple of episodes prior JM says that while JK only wears one shirt during the entire show, he’s clean because he washes it every night and Jimin’s been helping him wash it. I don’t know about you but I find this even more hilarious. Not because JM wants us to know that JK’s clean because that I get - JM cares about Kook and is concerned about his image in front ot the fans, but because of the absurdity of the statement. How exactly can two people wash one shirt together? Did each of them wash one end of it or what? And if they used a washing mashine, even better. Does it really take two people to open it, put the shirt in, pour detergent and press start?! And the insane pride that Jimin says this with as if he’s saying “Yes, I wash it with him, you jealous?” has me cackling. I am, in fact, jealous but not because they wash their clothes together but of the insanely close relationship they have.
Time after time Jimin and Jungkook are seen being together, doing their own thing, existing in their own world - cars, airplanes, backstage, solo trips, outside of schedule with their friends, on shows when the other members are doing something else.. you name it, they’ve done it. They’re literally the epitome of the couple who makes everyone feel like they’re thirdwheeling or in Seokjin’s words “Get them to pay attention”. Yet, they don’t seem to get enough of each other’s company and each other in general. They really do click so well that even chores are something worth doing together.
Amazing.

ok i wanted to watch the full day4 of mma but its only being uploaded at 4am for me and i caved in and watched the lq bts performance and i just
why   do you enjoy making me C RY
so stream of crying consciousness first impression...... stuff
a black swan intro A BLACK SWAN INTRO i mean i kinda wanted them to perform the whole song too but hey
it was way too fucking beautiful to be REAL i am LIVING i love love LOVE how much they leaned into classical and contemporary for black swan its more than i ever expected and i just cry every night into my pillow-
first off i love tae and hoseok as a pairing it doesnt happen often and of the dances black swan could parallel i did not think dna would be one of them but it fucking works and it looks breathtaking
the HEIGHT of taehyungs jump
swan namjin is just majestic and their postures were rly good, jins port de bras was a+; they over prepared a little for the pirouette but it somehow looks rly cute im whippedajfldkf
ok so. OK. oh   . jungkook,   jimin,    oh wow. oh WOW. jikook has had a lot of dance duos over the years and not to be dramatic but it was all leading up to this MOMENT ksdjn. no but ok the water dance was gorgeous and how delicate and yet midly terrifying they manage to look when theyre being carried (amazing sound direction too ) by the backup dancers is so entrancing, and when they finally come together to dance their FREAKING PAS DE DEUX. (bts danced a straight up pas de deux i cant get over it they really did THAT im losing it) anyway when they dance together you can see it even better!!
that bullet was getting too long so, ok, pas de deux is usually danced by a man and a woman (its more common for this to switch it up in contemporary, but still) , and even though it takes a lot (like a fucking lot) of strenght to maintain the various poses and steps while youre being lifted(usually women), in ballet  its a Thing to not let it show and appear as delicate and effortless as possible. so a lot of people who dont dance get the impression that whoever is lifting is doing the most work, but! thats not true, aND. jimin somehow manages to portray all that strenght while still being tear inducingly delicate. the sequence is sharp, delicated, jagged and desperate and jikook are PERFECT for it, bc their individual dance styles have always been so good at balancing sharp/delicate and intense.
jimins extensions are, as usual, absolutely thight and in full display. their position for the lift turn was perfect. it was so gorgeous
the final swan pose was so so so so beautiful i loved that formation. bts rly has some of the best designed (like, idk how to say this in english, but literally ‘desenhada’ ‘drawn’) transitions formations and poses. their choreographies are so teatrical, every stop is a painting and i love it. jin just delivers the final blow w the final arms and releasing the bird... mercy
speaking of which the stage design here.................. exquisite
and last but suddenly not least, the backup dancers did the MOST, mad mad props. that bridge drop before jimin first appears might genuinely war with ot7s dancing for most beautiful part of the intro
so. like.      i really love black swan idk if it is noticeable.
THE STAIRS FOR ON THE NO STAIRS AAAA AND THE N;O  STAIRS AND POSES AND INSTRUMENTALSSSSS
their STYLING. insane.
ON you beautiful bitch i missed you . you deserved to have been so BIG UGHSJDFN
is it just me or does on feel simultaneously shorter and more INTENSE
the purple mappp :((( and armys making up bts photo oh my GOD:((( ;;o;;
since its very unlikely they would have released anything outside of mots7 this year were it not for covid, their final performances would probably be n.o, black swan and on, maybe with wabte. im kinda sad now
but now for long, quarantine savior life goes on is here 🥺🥺🥺
life goes on is so good live its ... ugh
how SOFT their faces went in yoongis verso tho
its a bangtanarmy world
they did the PAH
dynamite quarantine bop lets go
uhHHHhhHh hoseok?? this VELVET FIT. JHSRKDKJS
taejoons talk the talk that was SO CUTE. ILLEGAL
they look so happy and energetic i love to see it
dynamite has such a fun choreo. its their simplest one since.... just one day, probably, but they make it SO engaging
also the way their suits change color is MAGICAL
jin air kisses into the dance break? yEs
THIS DANCE BREAK. ITS PURE DISCO OH MY GOD OH My GoD DISCO QUEEN DYNAMITE!!! U DID THAT . the vibez are absolutely exquisite , dare i say........ GROOVY
super fast footwork and their delivery is so suave and cool holy shit im hypnotized ; that little HEAD BOP on the suspended kick - . like this dance is brimming with personality i love it so much
hoseoks subtle roboting just adds that Something to it ,
his style is so interesting to me bc like, usually street styles use a lower posture, heavier/sharper finishes, and are visually bolder styles of dancing, highlighting the impact of the steps (i wish i could explain what i mean better but im not super familiar with street styles ughfgfd ) . as opposed to contemporary/jazz/ballet etc but hoseoks style is like a hybrid lately, its very light, almost like hes floating across the stage (voguings a street style that has that lighter higher disposition, but hoseok doesnt rly vogue afaik.... someone once noted, that, interestingly, thats also the core logic of classical dancing and that creates such an interesting contrast in a way that is different but parallel to the way jimin also likes to create that type of contrast in his dancing?? ugh yes.)
and anyway, he manages to be so fluid and light and still so sharp and this choreography highlights that soooo well. his footwork and his extensions when hes leading the dance line- chefs kiss . also that hat and that suit   . thank you bh
their linesssssss cries
jimins high kick tumble cries the 70s just kicked me in the face + the synced jump the others do just as he kicks a+++++
they are so synchronized . like they usually are, but it looks even more satisfying here
this dance break..... i didnt think dynamite would do this for us, but its among my favorites
taehyung is made for This
2seoks suits are driving me feral
was just talking to a friend today abt how i thought back in 2016 that no one could top that mama performance, not even bts themselves......... ha . hahahah ha.
bangtan. never. disapoints.

Excerpt:
Worst of all, the figurative icing on this mess of a cake, was Sweatshirt. The man jumped into action and quickly came to Namjoon’s rescue by tugging down his sweatpants and pressing his ice drink to Namjoon’s wounded lap.
Which was how he found himself, tears streaming down his face, standing in the middle of the coffee shop with his pants halfway down his legs, and the man of his dreams kneeling in front of him rubbing his drink on his privates.
Of course, Yoongi was recording the whole thing.
The first time Kim Taehyung had properly set eyes on the man’s face, he knew he would be perfect. Considering the rumors flying around the coffee shop, he had been afraid that reality would be more disappointing, but instead, it was rather the opposite. The tales paled in comparison to the living, breathing specimen. Taehyung wasn’t one to throw around the word ‘beautiful’ unnecessarily, but if ever there was a case for the application of the word, it was this man.
And there was no logical reason for it. Based off description alone, there should be nothing particularly remarkable about the man. His hair, looking at the color, could technically be described as a mousy brown, but somehow on this guy, it worked. His clothes were unremarkable as well, just a t-shirt and jeans combination with a simple gray sweater. In fact, the thing that stuck out most, and where the eyes ended up, was the garish colors of the Mario print that stuck out like a sore thumb against the white of his shirt. It would have been easy to understand how many would overlook the man’s face.
But not Taehyung. No. He was here with a purpose, and a noble purpose at that. Like the saying goes, there was no greater love than a man willing to lay down his life for a friend. This wasn't exactly that, but getting his friend laid should be way up there.
Kim Taehyung was a good friend.
+++
The whole thing started three weeks ago.
Namjoon had practically given himself an aneurysm trying to scream the delayed shipment into submission. By which Taehyung meant that everyone in the office was walking on eggshells to avoid setting off another Namjoon tirade. So, as a last resort to maintain the final shreds of his sanity, he waited for the opportune time and got out of there as fast as possible.
If he happened to be pretending that he was a secret agent on an important espionage mission, it was no one’s business but his own.
There was only one corridor left before Taehyung was out the door, so he dove to the wall and flattened himself against it. He was peeking around what he thought was an empty corner when a quiet voice behind him all but sent him up the wall in fright.
“Boss, are you humming the 007 theme song?”
Taehyung whirled around and stared at one of their new clerks, heart hammering in his chest. He breathed a long huff in relief when he computed the shocked look on the other man’s face, and whispered, “are you sneaking out, too?”
“What? No, boss, I would never -”
“Because I would totally understand, you know. Namjoon is a monster when he’s in a crappy mood. Also, we carpooled together today, so I don't have ride.”
“I'm not sneaking out, sir.”
“You should, you know. It's almost lunch. We should eat. I'll cover you, it'll be on me.”
“Uh, we just started work an hour ago.”
“Brunch, then.”
“And I don't have a car.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
“Want to sneak out, anyway?”
“I would much rather stay here, if it's alright with you, sir.”
“Oh.”
An awkward silence fell over the pair. Taehyung was still pressed against the wall when he finally continued, “I'm just going to go, now.”
“Okay, sir.”
“Also, you didn't see me.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Oh! And do you know any good places to eat around here? I guess I can't really go too far.”
“I just moved here, sir.”
Oh… Pity.”
“Sorry.”
“Okay. Bye, then, I guess.”
“Have a good…brunch?”
Taehyung gave a tiny wave and was out the door before the clerk could properly get rid of the confusion on his face. It was actually a pretty common occurrence in the office, now that Taehyung thought about it.
He made his way out to the street level rather quickly. Once outside, Taehyung indulged in a moment of relaxation. The entire morning, the whole hour of it, had been one thing after another and when Namjoon got into one of his moods, it was best to vacate the vicinity.
Although they have been in this office a good few years, Taehyung had ended up working more in the behind the scenes aspect than Namjoon, initially anyway. He hadn't been actually needed on site until the last year or so, and even then, he had usually gone straight to and from the office by car and hadn't gotten a proper look around the area. Namjoon always ate out, but was also surprisingly picky with what he was willing to eat, so they had a set list of acceptable locations for him to go when they ate lunch together, which wasn't all that often.
Namjoon was a bonafide workaholic, and it was more often the case that Taehyung would bring back something to make sure Namjoon didn't shrivel into an overstressed zombie at his desk.
He figured he'd bring him something back as a peace offering for bailing.
In any case, this was a good opportunity to scope the area for food. While there wasn't much in the immediate surroundings, he was only a short walk from the station, and he knew that a lot of the guys at the office said there was a decent area for food just one stop down the line.
So, one short train ride later, Taehyung was happily enjoying a late morning stroll. There weren't very many people out and about at this time, but it was just late enough that most of the restaurants and smaller eateries were open for business.
He still wasn't sure what he wanted, though. The clerk had been right about it being too early to be out. Taehyung wasn't anywhere near hungry enough to try to sit in.
He was leaning against a wall, contemplating the merits of heading back empty-handed and nagging Namjoon into actually leaving for lunch today, when the loud chime of bells from across the street pulled him from his thoughts.
Two things registered prominently in his mind when he finally set eyes on the source of the sound: first was that there was a quaint looking coffee shop nestled in a nook across the street that was rather easy to miss, second, and more importantly, holy mackerel, that was a lot of pink. The man who had just stepped out the shop was sporting an oversized sweater that was as insanely large as it was pink, given that Taehyung would guess the man to be approximately Namjoon’s height, maybe slightly shorter.
Despite his curiosity, he couldn't make out the man’s face since his hood was up and he was sporting some giant sunglasses as well. Strangely, as if sensing Taehyung’s stare, the man turned toward him as the door closed.
Rather than shying away from being caught staring, Taehyung smiled and waved. He tugged a bit at his own jacket then pointed at the man to signal the sweatshirt, then gave the man a huge thumbs up.
He was extra delighted when, instead of giving him a weird look or turning away like most people at work, the man crumpled slightly as he gave a full body laugh. Too bad he was too far away for Taehyung to hear what his laugh sounded like, but still, he was just happy someone got his point.
The man waved his thanks, and was about to head off when Taehyung waved frantically for his attention again. He could see the pink hood tilt in confusion, but he mimed the coffee cup and tried to convey the question of whether or not it was good to the man via pantomime.
The second surprise of the encounter was the fact the guy actually understood; not only that, he made a flourished bow to welcome Taehyung toward the coffee shop door.
Taehyung didn't need anymore encouragement and all but hopped his way over, calling out as he approached, “I love you and your sweater! You both just saved me from a coffee-less existence, and this whole morning would have been shit!”
Up close, the man’s laugh was pretty unique, oddly squeaky, but it put an even bigger smile on Taehyung’s face to hear it.
“No biggie. You looked desperate.”
“You have no idea. I'm not familiar with this area but I have needs, dude. Needs, I say,” Taehyung said in a rush, a little breathless from the jog over.
“You should probably look things up before you head out to a new place, just saying.”
“It’s called spontaneity! And I may have snuck out of my office without letting anyone know.”
“In that case, knock knock.”
“What?”
“Knock, knock.”
“Who’s there?” Taehyung was confused by someone else. This was a new life experience.
“Yo-yos.”
“Yo-yos who?”
“Yo-yos to call me on my cellphone,” the man shamelessly sang to the Drake tune.
He was speechless, Taehyung was speechless.
However, taking advantage of his silence, the man continued talking, “Which is something I assume you have, so you should still look up the area beforehand. Just be glad I was here to save you from a horrible mistake. There's a new coffee place down the road. Don't go there. This place is great, and you're welcome. Now in, in you go.”
He proceeded to shoo Taehyung in the door and disappeared off to who knows where before Taehyung had a chance to recover his voice.
Taehyung found himself inside the shop, wondering, ‘what the actual fuck just happened?’
It must have shown on his face because the barista behind the counter shot him a very understanding smile.
“Did you get stunned by the beauty or the lame?”
“What?” Taehyung felt as if he’d lost all control of his life.
“You got the shook-look. That guy that you were talking to, are you stunned by hotness or did he tell you a joke. For your sake, I really hope it was the hotness.”
“I actually couldn't see his face, now that I think about it.”
Taehyung was surprised when the barista put down the cup he was wiping and stepped out next to him to give him a sympathetic pat on the back.
“It was a joke then, eh? How bad was it, on a scale from one to ten?”
He didn't know what the hell was happening, but he might as well milk the sympathy, maybe he could get a discount.
Mustering up his best puppy dog eyes, he turned to the guy and all but whimpered, “I'm going to have to carry that shit forever, now, dude. It's burned into my brain. I'm going to carry that pun to my grave and beyond. That's how bad it was.”
He knew he had the guy. Even Namjoon was susceptible to his gaze of epic pathetic-ness. He took a second to read the barista’s name tag, and then chanced a look at the guy’s face to see if this Hoseok was caving.
And yep. If he played his cards right, cheap coffee for the TaeTae win!
“I'm so sorry. Like on behalf of all of us at Bangtan, I am so sorry. It's ‘cause the boss spoils him. And everyone humors him. It wasn't always so bad, but I swear, he went and got a book of bad puns or something because we’re almost at the point of staging an intervention.”
“So, he's a regular, I'm guessing?”
“Yeah, pretty regular. You can do what most everyone else does and avoid eye contact. Although, honestly, some of that might just be because of the hotness, but the older folks love him. He's generally harmless, if you ignore the toxic levels of horrible jokes. Oh! And is there anything I can get started for you? I forgot to ask!”
“Oh, um, just an ice coffee, I guess.” Taehyung was still recovering from the encounter.
“Any specific brews? You can look at the menu over there if you’d like.”
“You can pick for me, I'm not really picky.”
“Did you want it sweet?”
“Yep.”
“Milk?”
“Sure.”
“Alrighty, then. I'll get started on that. Did you want that here or take-out?”
Taehyung almost automatically said take-out, but a sudden seed of an idea took hold.
He smiled a big boxy grin and said, “For here, please.”
While Hoseok went about making his coffee, Taehyung gleefully sidled over to the row of high stools right by the counter. The barista was kind enough to give him a freebie cookie for his troubles. Score!
“So,” he started, figuring it wouldn't be so bad to have a small chat considering he was the only customer at the moment, “I get the joke thing, but what did you mean by ‘hotness’?”
“You didn't see his face at all?”
“Well, he had sunglasses and his hoodie was up and I was kind of distracted by the pink and the coffee…”
“Oh, yeah, the pink. We’re immune to that here, now that I think about it.”
“Is he always that pink?”
Hoseok opened his mouth to answer, then seemed to freeze. He tilted his head looking confused for a moment, before continuing, “You know what? No, not really. But I think once you see him with the pink, it just kind of clings onto his image, you know. Like you see TPH, and boom you think ‘pink.’”
“TPH?”
“Tall, pink, and handsome. It's his nickname, since nobody knows what his name is. Although, if you ask me, I swear boss probably knows, but he's enjoying this drama too much.”
“So I'm going to go out on a limb and say he’s hot?”
“Yup. Honestly, I would go with pretty, even. Just, generally attractive. Like if you ask go into a visual dictionary and look up ‘universally good looking,’ there's going to be a picture of TPH.”
“Wow.”
“Yup.”
“I sort of don't believe you.”
“Don't blame ya. It's just something that's got to be seen to be believed.”
“So, what's your rating?”
“Of TPH?” Hoseok came up to give him his coffee. “I guess I would say a solid 8.5. Although, I'm probably not the right person to ask.”
“Why’s that?”
Before Hoseok could answer, the chime of the door alerted them to a new arrival. But as Hoseok turned to greet them, Taehyung bore witness to what could only be described as the heavens opening up to the radiant glow of the sun.
Even from their short conversation, Taehyung could say that Hoseok had a warm personality and a very inviting face and smile. And while his initial greeting was the same warm one he’d given Taehyung when he first entered, he could tell the exact moment when Hoseok recognized who it was he was smiling at because the beaming level increased by 1000, and Taehyung would swear before court and jury that there were actual stars in Hoseok’s eyes.
Taehyung turned to look at the newcomer; he just had to see.
And it would not be an exaggeration to say he was a tad underwhelmed. A pale, slightly disheveled figure lumbered in, seemingly just recently woken from a deep sleep. While he wasn't unkempt, since his black parental advisory t-shirt wasn't overly wrinkled, but paired with his well-worn jeans and scruffy black hair, the man wasn't exactly the poster child for professionalism.
Taehyung sipped at his coffee and found himself looking back and forth between the new guy and Hoseok, who was still making embarrassingly blatant googly eyes at the guy. He gripped the glass tightly to physically hold back his inner meddling fiend.
“H-hi, Yoongi!” Hoseok was so obviously head over heels, it would be sad if it wasn't so cute.
The newcomer, apparently Yoongi, looked up momentarily, and seeing Hoseok’s beaming face, grunted something inaudible and made a beeline for the back kitchen.
Hoseok heaved a sigh and rubbed absently at the countertop, thus missing the last minute glance Yoongi threw his way before disappearing into the back.
However, Taehyung, who was watching the entire scene play out and barely holding back the glee, saw the entire thing. He was loving it. Ditching work had never been so rewarding.
He just had to say something, so when he turned to Hoseok as soon as the other man was gone and whispered, “So TPH is an 8.5, but I’m going to bet that guy is a full 10 out of 10, right?”
Hoseok flailed beautifully while shushing him. He also kept glancing to the back of the shop like his life depended on it.
“I have no idea what you're talking about,” he whispered back.
“Sure, man. But you might want to wipe the drool next time if you want to keep your blazing hard-on for the guy a secret.”
“Is it really that bad?”
“So bad, dude. So bad.”
“If I give you a knife now, could you do a guy a solid and just stab me?”
“No way. This is too good. You tried anything, yet? Besides ogling, I mean.”
“Hell, no! He barely knows I'm alive. He barely even knows my name!”
“Uh, somehow I highly doubt that.”
“What are you saying?”
Taehyung smirked, this was too perfect. Namjoon better not say he never does anything for him, because he was about to go above and beyond.
He leaned forward and said, “How about this? You help me out with something, and I help you land that ass.”
“Uh, don't take this the wrong way, but you are not exactly selling me on this. I don't even know you.”
“The name’s Taehyung, Kim Taehyung. And come on, what’s the worst that can happen? You said yourself, he doesn't even know your name.”
“I said he ‘barely’ knows my name. I'm sure he has it down, now.”
“Good for you.”
Hoseok sighed, “But what do you want exactly.”
“Just try and answer a few questions for me.”
“Okay? I'm going to regret this, but fine.”
“Great! I'm telling you, you're making a good decision.”
“Whatever. You sure you can help me with Yoongi?”
“Yup! You're actually not that bad off, you know.”
“If you say so. Well, what did you want to know?”
Taehyung grinned.
“First thing’s first, is TPH single?”

I'm stupid. I'm so, so, so stupid.
I don't know what I'm doing. I knew things were going too well. Nothing goes well for me for this long without shit going down. Fuck.
I'm so stupid.
All that planning for nothing. Why am I so fucking dumb.
I turned down sex with a gorgeous man, WHO I AM DATING! Is this a growing experience or have I lost my fucking mind.
It didn't feel right, though. Maybe I'm reading this entire thing wrong. Maybe he’s just not that into me. I mean, it's not like a month and a week is that long or anything (not that I'm counting), but we still haven't gone to his place, and I mean, how much do I really know him. Right? I don't know what he's looking for with this.
If it's sex, I would understand, but the situation is subzero in the action department. There's only so much I can masturbate before I will have to look back on my life and my decisions.
It was going so well last night, too. I cooked!
Well, no. I ordered take-out, heated them in some pans, and got rid of the evidence before he arrived. It's not my fault my cooking is too risky, and I had too much riding on the success of the evening to have food poisoning throw a wrench in my shit.
Then again, I ruined it quite fine on my own, so maybe food poisoning would have been better.
Anyway, Kookie got here. He's so goddamn beautiful, have I mentioned how hot he is? Because he's so fine. So fine.
The messy apartment ruse worked. Time for some dinner and a movie, and I was so ready to eat some meat last night. We ate the shitty take-out. I didn't care. That's what I could afford, and besides, it wasn't the main dish I intended for that evening.
I forgot what we were watching, even. But here we were, cuddling on my bed, the light was dimmed for the movie. Perfect, right? I figured, now or never. So I leaned over for a kiss. Nothing new. Everything was going well. I moved down to side of his neck, by this point the movie was completely forgotten and I was basically straddling him. I reached down and untucked his shirt (can I just point out how adorable it was he's wearing a button down tucked in) and ran my hand up his chiseled stomach.
God bless heavy camera equipments. Or his gym membership. Whatever. God bless chocolate abs is all I have to say.
So far, so good.
So I figured, lucky boxers got your back, Jimin, you do your thing.
I went to unbutton his pants, not before slipping my hand in the back and grabbing a bit of that class A ass, and this is where everything goes to shit.
I don't know how, I don't know why, but everything just stopped being so nice. I don't know. Kookie didn't really stop me. He still kissed me when I returned to his lips. But I just felt something was off.
It felt like, I don't know, the magic was gone and reality sucked. Like it became really clear that we were in my shitty apartment bedroom with some shitty movie droning in the background and dirty plates on the floor.
And the shittiest thing was that he didn't tell me no.
It was weird. It was bad. It wasn't supposed to feel bad.
I didn't know what to do so I just got off and scooted away. Like this was not cool. It wasn't right.
We didn't really say anything after.
I don't know how long we sat there, but he just got up, said that he was sorry, and left.
He took the plates to the sink, though.
I didn't walk him out.
I'm so stupid
Stupid. Stupid. Stup--
--- Whoops what was I writing?
So my previous bout of self pity was interrupted by the local dictator. Seulji was apparently done with my moping.
So one bottle of wine later, I think I might be an idiot.
Seulji is a genius.
I might be the world’s biggest asshole. Shit fuck fuck shit fuck.
Only maybe, though. Because no way right?
No way a guy that fine is a virgin, right?
Holy shit.
I am such an asshole!

“May I ask just what the hell you think you're doing?”
Taehyung froze in his seat when a voice boomed over his head. He debated whether or not to turn around, not sure if he should feel guilty. He was at his usual spot in the cafe where he had been camped every lunch break over the last few days, waiting for a chance to see TPH with his own eyes.
He hadn't had much luck the last few days and was seriously thinking about either giving up on the whole idea, or waiting until he had a better handle on the situation before proceeding. Of course, it was just his luck that today, of all days, TPH came strutting into the cafe, and with his first good look at the man’s face, he made his decision.
This was an opportunity too perfect to pass up.
So maybe huddling behind the menu while sneaking peeks at the guy wasn’t the best nor most inconspicuous approach, but come on, it wasn’t like he did this all the time. Maybe if he just stared really hard at the menu, the owner of the voice would just go away.
Yeah, no.
When a firm hand clapped down on his shoulder, he knew the jig was up.
“I’ve been saying this for years, and no one seems to remember, but here at Bangtan, we pride ourselves on service and experience. And young man, let me tell you, nothing brings down the ratings faster than a stalker.”
Taehyung slapped the menu down and whirled to face the judging eyes of a rather rotund gentleman. Crap. This had got to be the owner. Hoseok warned him about the guy.
“Would you believe me if I swore I'm not a creeper?”
Taehyung puppy dog eyes engaged.
“You're going to have to try a little harder than that, son.” The man’s face remained impassive.
Taehyung found himself floundering for a moment at this stranger who had withstood the full exposure to his eyes without budging. Oh, hell, whatever. He had never been the type to follow a plan. Flying by the seat of his pants was his talent, so before could second guess himself, he grabbed the man’s arm and tugged him to sit down beside him.
“Alright. Look. My best friend is on a one track road for man-spinsterdom, and I just got this tingling sense that that guy over there is the one, that one , you know. He can change it all for my buddy.”
The man eyes furrowed as he gazed at Taehyung’s very serious face. “Son, whatever you're taking, I'm sure there's help for you… out there, somewhere else, hopefully far from here.”
“No listen, okay?  That guy is single. My friend is single. It's all good. I’m just trying to scout out the situation, you know, to be sure it all gels.”
“I feel like you don't fully comprehend the word ‘stalker.’”
“It's not stalking, not really, I don't follow him home or anything like that.”
“Well, that makes it perfectly fine, then.”
“Right?”
“No! What the hell is your problem, kid?”
“True love, man, true love is my problem.”
The man’s mouth hung open as he tried and failed to respond to that statement.
Finally, he just sort of slumped forward and let his head fall to his hands, elbows resting on the table. His entire body was the the epitome of utter defeat.
Taehyung leaned forward as the man started mumbling to himself, voice muffled by his own hands. All the young man could catch was something along the lines of, “... knew he was trouble… but no, you just just had to invite in the crazy, didn’t you, Si Hyuk? Now it’s multiplying… crazy attracts crazy… we were a well respected establishment once…”
Taehyung, who had been slowly leaning closer and closer to catch more of the muffled grumbling, was practically right next to the man’s ear when he couldn’t help but ask, “Why do you think he’s crazy?”
The poor owner nearly flew out of his chair when he felt the young man’s voice rumbling so close; he practically could still feel the guy’s phantom breath still on his ear. This was too god damn much.
“You know what? I don’t care. He’s a grown man, he can take care of himself. You want to be crazy together? Go right ahead. I wash my hands of this.” Si Hyuk made to leave this insanity, hopefully crazy wasn’t contagious.
Unfortunately, he found himself being held in place by a surprisingly firm grip.
“Wait, wait, wait. Okay, first I’m glad to hear you’re finally seeing things my way-”
“That’s really not what I said-”
“But you didn’t answer. Why do you think he’s crazy? Is it good crazy or bad crazy? I think Namjoon is crazy sometimes, but I still say he’s cool. You think they’re compatible crazy?”
“Kid,” Si Hyuk started slowly, like one talking down a dangerous animal, “I really think you should get some help.”
“Oh, hold on one second, are you the owner?”
“Will you leave if I answer that?”
“Yes?”
“Then, yes. I am the owner. Of this this coffee shop, of my growing regret in opening it, of my tired old soul who would really like for you to leave now.”
“Oh! So you know him don’t you?”
“What?”
“TPH over there, I heard you know him, like know him! Real name and everything.”
Si Hyuk’s eyes got a menacing gleam, “And who, may I ask, did you hear that from?”
“Your entire staff loves gossiping about you two, you know,” Taehyung said, thinking fast so as not to out his informant. Hoseok would kill him if he figured Taehyung was ratting him out, accidental or not.
“The traitors…” The man hissed to himself. For all that he complained about crazy people, Taehyung wondered if Si Hyuk was aware he wasn’t exactly the poster child for sanity.
“Anyway, forget your staff. Back to our little issue, I’m going to assume you know him pretty well, then.”
“Okay, first, there’s no ‘our’ anything. Second, I don’t like where this is going.”
“So, you can probably guess his preferences.”
“I really don’t like where this is going.”
“So, you can definitely vet his suitor for him!”
“No. Nope. What-”
“So, to show that I have the best intentions at heart, I’ll let you talk to my buddy first, and then when you okay it, we can proceed with the plan.”
“Wait, what? What plan? I’m not part of any plans!”
Taehyung clasped the Si Hyuk’s hands in his before the man could flail around too much. He held them gently but firmly in between his own, running his thumb over them, as he stared deep into the owner’s wide eyes.
“I’m just going to lay it straight for you, it’s obvious you care about the guy. Otherwise, why make such an effort to maintain his anonymity. And, really, I’ve met the guy like twice, and even I can tell he’s got baggage. And no way a guy like that would still be on the market unless it’s intentional. I mean, I’m not going to lie, he works the happy thing well, but I’m good at noticing things, and that is not a happy dude.”
“I am extremely uncomfortable with both this conversation and how intimate our positions are right now. I don’t think we’re at the hand holding point of this relationship. We really shouldn’t even be at the talking point.”
Taehyung plowed on as if Si Hyuk hadn’t said anything, “Don’t you want him to be happy? Give him a chance to meet someone to drag him out of whatever slump he’s in that he has trouble even telling his favorite coffee shop his name?”
Bang Si Hyuk had several retorts lined up to toss in this loon’s face, but something held him back. Maybe crazy really was contagious.
Taking the man’s silence as acquiescence, Taehyung took the chance to lay it on thick, “I’m not saying it’s a guarantee, but I really think my friend could be a good match. He’s smart, he’s ambitious, he’s tall, he’s good looking-”
“And a bachelor?”
“It sounds horrible, but I really mean it when I say, he just hasn’t found the right one.”
“You’re right. That does sound horrible.”
“Look, you vet, you okay, they meet. They either hit it off and everyone is happy or they split. What’s the worst that can happen?”
“Huh.” Si Hyuk chose to ignore the floodgate of memories attesting to just exactly how bad things could get, but once again, against his better judgement, he didn’t disagree.
Half an hour later, Si Hyuk found himself nodding along to a madman’s schemes. He glanced to the seat Seokjin had vacated earlier. The brat was doing better, he had to admit, but things seemed to be at a standstill.
Something needed to change. Si Hyuk doubted this would help much, but a change of pace might just be the thing to push him in the right direction.
Or push him off the edge.
Either way, it would be better than this stagnation.
Who knows, maybe this lunatic might be onto something.
Like the guy said, what’s the worst that can happen?
Si Hyuk worked hard to ignore a foreboding tingle up his spine.
He sighed, completely giving up on following the young man’s jabbering. Si Hyuk just wanted to be a simple coffee shop owner.
Where did it all go wrong?

I gave it a day. Mostly because I'm an idiot, which has already been established, and have no idea what to say.
I tried calling a few times today.
He didn't answer. I'm disappointed but can't say I'm surprised.
Fuck.
I'm leaving him some texts. Hope he answers.
Fuck.

He was a man on a mission.
Taehyung could feel Namjoon’s glare on the side of his face, but he aggressively ignored it. If he didn't do it, no one would, and Namjoon was going to end up hunchbacked, overweight, balding and alone. Well, maybe not all those things, but two out of four was a safe bet.
After the first few questions, which Taehyung ignored because Namjoon had a very good record for talking Taehyung out of his better ideas, he decided it was for the greater good of everyone involved if he just pulled a Transporter and quietly hauled the cargo to the destination.
He may have accidentally giggled out loud at mentally labeling Namjoon as cargo, which unfortunately resulted in Namjoon giving him a very dubious, very worried look. He stopped himself from commenting and making things worse when his passenger began eyeing the door handle with some intensity.
Yeah, just step on the gas, Tae. You got this.
Si Hyuk had okayed the meeting provided that it was after hours, so as not to interfere with his work, and that Taehyung was not present, which was mostly for the owner’s blood pressure.
Thankfully it wasn't a long drive, and as Taehyung pulled up in front of the shop, he put the car in park and reached across Namjoon to pop the door open for him.
“Okay, out.”
“Out where? Why? What the fuck, Tae,” Namjoon asked, a little wild-eyed. He stubbornly kept his seatbelt on, even as the door swung wide open.
“Namjoon, just go into that coffee shop, right there. Trust me, buddy.”
Namjoon did that thing where he jutted his jaw out. It was something he always did when he was at a loss for words but rearing for a fight, so Taehyung headed it off, “Look, I kind of have someone I think you could should meet, but I’m only like 50/50 on this. Consider this, like, an interview.”
“Tae,” Namjoon’s voice was a distinctly fake sort of calm, “it’s ass o’clock at night, I’ve just had a long ass day, why in the hell would I want to fucking have a fucking interview for a fucking date with some random ass person I’ve never fucking met?”
Taehyung opened his mouth to answer but closed it again with a click. Before Namjoon could start another rant, he realized a shadow had fallen over him and nearly gave himself whiplash when he twisted around to face the open door.
He felt his heart practically dance its way out of his chest as he took in the sight of the older and larger man leaning on the open car door.
“So,” the man drawled, “I'm going to go out on a limb and say your buddy just kidnapped you into this whole deal. Why am I not surprised?”
“Actually, it’s not kidnapping. He came of his own volition.”
“You told me we were getting coffee.”
“Which is technically true.”
“I'm going to kill you, Tae. And I'm going to burn you and put your fucking ashes behind the TV so you will always hear your favorite show but never see it.”
“Dude. That's really fucked up.”
“I know.”
The man cleared his throat and waited for the bickering duo to look at him before saying, “Not that I want to interrupt your little bonding session here, but it’s late and the quicker we get this over with the quicker I get to go home and hit the liquor.”
He pointed at Namjoon, “You, out of the car. I made us some coffee, and it’s getting cold.”
Then, he pointed with much more emphasis at Taehyung, “And you , shoo. I don’t care where. I don’t want to see you until this is over. He’ll give you a ring. Now chop chop.”
With no other choice, and honestly, between the two, the strange man at least sounded like he half-way made some sense, Namjoon finally unbuckled and stepped out the car.
“Play nice you two!” Taehyung waved, but before he could say anything more obnoxious, the man slammed the door shut and ushered Namjoon off to the shop. Neither of them looked back.
Once inside, Namjoon had to admit it was a quaint little place and had the circumstances been different, he may have decided this was a new regular spot. As it was though, Namjoon just felt the weight of the situation hang awkwardly over the entire shop. He needed better friends.
It was easy to find his seat, or rather, his stool by the cafe bar. A steaming cup of rather delicious coffee marked the spot. He headed straight for it, figuring the man was right and getting this, whatever this was, over and done with was the best option for everyone involved.
Also, figuring that he deserved it, considering the night he was having, Namjoon took a big sip from the cup. He was pleasantly surprised by the kick of the after taste.
“Good, right?” the man asked, looking pleased for the first time that evening. “It’s the cayenne. Gives it that extra kick. My nephew thought I was crazy for making spicy coffee, but what does that idiot know.”
“Yeah. It’s delicious.”
“Good. Now, let’s get down to business. Was I right to assume you have no idea what is happening?”
“You got that one right on the head.”
“Well, this is extra awkward then. Give me one second.” He went behind the counter and returned with a flask. He uncorked it and pretty much upended the thing into his own coffee, before noticing Namjoon staring. “Want some?”
“Maybe it would be better if one of us is sober.”
“Your loss,” he said and proceeded to empty the flask into the now extremely alcoholic coffee.
“If you don’t mind me asking, who are you?”
“The name is Bang Si Hyuk. I own this place.”
“So that really tells me nothing. How do you know Tae?”
“He wandered into my shop to stalk one of my regulars.”
“Oh, my god. Are you pressing charges? Is this a legal thing? Fuck, I knew it was only a matter of time.”
“Well, those are all good questions. I really should be pressing charges, shouldn’t I? But no, insanity is rampant in these parts, and your buddy there has got a plot set out for you.”
“What?”
“He wants to set you up with my regular.”
Namjoon stared at the man. “And you’re okay with this?”
“Not really, but I figured it was best to placate the bastard before he talked my ear off.”
“I’m so sorry about him. We try to keep him away from the regular folks.”
“Yeah. But the thing is, even half listening to him, I’ve got to admit, the man can make a point.”
“What?”
“The poor idiot really needs to get back on the horse. I mean, it’s been almost a year. He needs to start getting out of his comfort zone. Go out and see the world. Too busy living in the past is what I say.”
“Wait, are you talking about your regular? You actually want me to go out with this… wait, you said ‘he’? Your regular is a man?”
“Yes. Is this going to be a problem?”
“No? But that’s surprisingly progressive of you.”
“Well, whoop-dee-do.”
“No, but what the fuck? You want me to go out with this random guy? You don’t even know me! What about him? Why the hell am I even talking to you?”
“First, it’s not you specifically. I just think it’s about time he goes out with someone; anyone, really. Or at least give it a try. And since your friend conveniently volunteered you, I figured why not. You’re talking to me because, again, your friend, the root of all our problems, thought it was best if I vetted you, since apparently the rumor mill has indicated that I am someone with the authority to do that, but really, I don’t care.”
“Do I have any say in this?”
“Not really. He’s your friend, and between the two of us, I figure you would be making it much easier on yourself if you just went along with it.”
“What about the guy? Does he have any say?”
“Actually, yes. He doesn’t know about this, so it’s all up to you. If he turns you down, then it’s a bust. And we can all go back to our regular lives. Honestly, that’s probably the best case scenario.”
Namjoon stared at the Si Hyuk. He couldn’t believe this was his life. He wished someone was there to vet his friends back in college. Maybe he really ought to kill Tae. It’d be for the greater good of the world.
He sighed, defeated. Looking at his cup of coffee, he sighed again. “I don’t suppose you have anymore of whatever it was you had in the flask.”
Instead of answering, Si Hyuk heaved off his seat and went behind the counters again. This time he came back with two flasks.
Namjoon raised an eyebrow. “You guys have a liquor license?”
“We don’t serve alcohol.”
“Then what the hell is this?”
“This is what I call my Pest Stash. I’ve had it ever since the pain in the ass started coming in, and when your buddy popped by the other day, I knew it was time to restock. Personal use only.”
“Smart man.”
“Pragmatic.”
“You mind if I take it straight.”
“Go ahead. You might need it.”
“Thanks.”

So.
We have good news, and we have bad news.
Good news: he finally replied. I got a text after I low key blew up his phone.
Bad news: he said I didn't have anything to apologize for and that he was going to be out of town for a few days for work, and that he'll be out of touch because of bad signal or something.
I'm pretty sure that's a loud and clear give me space if there ever was one.
WHY WON’T HE JUST ACCEPT MY APOLOGY!
He sucks.
I suck more.

Namjoon, despite his reluctance, found himself sitting in the cafe the following Sunday. Apparently, Si Hyuk had called Tae who called Namjoon five minutes before he drove by and all but hauled Namjoon off.
At least they served decent coffee here. He was rather frazzled; it was ass in the morning, and this was the one day he usually spoiled himself with a sleep-in, but not today. No, the combined force of Bang Si Hyuk and Kim Taehyung was wreaking havoc on his peaceful, organized existence. Well, once this blows up in their collective faces, he will take his sweet time in commencing with the mocking. They deserved all that he was going to send their way.
Namjoon didn't even bother dressing properly. Why put any effort into this farce? When Taehyung was banging on his apartment door, he was still stumbling around and just threw a dark sweater over his sleepwear and a cap on to cover his bed hair. The judgmental look he got from the fucker didn't help his mood at all, considering it was his fault Namjoon was even in this mess.
Regardless, he was now slouched down in one of the corner benches, trying his damned hardest to look unapproachable.
It was a slower morning and there were only one or two other patrons in the shop.
Bang Si Hyuk was standing behind the counter talking to a young man who looked just as miserable to be awake as Namjoon felt. Also, the guys looked like he put about half as much effort into his outfit as Namjoon did.
Clearly, this was a kindred spirit.
He sighed. It was a drag waiting for his boiling hot coffee to cool enough to drink. Per his order, he wanted the thing scalding enough to burn through the sleep haze.
He was just scrolling through his phone when the door chimed and a tall figure walked in. At the time, he was only vaguely aware of a whole lot of beige ambling across the room, more focused on reorganizing his playlist. But out of nowhere, Si Hyuk let out a tremendous bellow that sent everyone in the shop jumping.
“If I hear one more god damned pun-”
And then a squeaky sound cut the raging man’s tirade off. It took Namjoon a few seconds to place the sound as laughter and that the laughter was coming from the figure in an oversized beige sweater standing by the counter. He couldn't hear the customer’s response, but even from where he was sitting, he felt rather than saw exasperation from the owner.
Of course, that was when Si Hyuk looked his way and winked, tilting his head slightly at the newcomer.
Really?
This was the guy?
Sure, Namjoon wasn't expecting much, but from the last conversation with the other man, he had assumed the ‘target’ was someone he cared for more than he was willing to say. Now it seemed more like the man couldn't stand him. Or would much rather be wringing his neck.
Also, he couldn't see the guy’s face from where he was sitting, but the ridiculously giant sweatshirt was throwing him off.
Whatever. Best get this over and done with so he could say he tried and then focus his efforts on more important things, like getting his revenge. Taehyung was going to pay for dragging him into this mess.
Namjoon shoved his phone into his pocket and picked up his coffee, careful not to burn himself on the heat of the cup. Damn, he really should pay more attention to how he phrased his orders here, that is, if he ever decided to come back.
Chances of that were pretty darn slim at the moment.
He made his way over to the bar seating by the register and dropped onto one of the stools with a small huff. Namjoon was just setting down the cup, ignoring the raised eyebrow of the young man behind the counter, when he saw Sweatshirt Guy pick up his order.
He watched Sweatshirt turn toward him, his eyes on the man’s drink, some kind of icy sugary concoction that he would hardly call coffee, as the other man raised it to his lips. His eyes followed the drink upwards to the face and-
Oh.
Oh, no.
Oh, fuck, the guy was cute.
Oh, crap.
He wasn't ready. Nope. No. Oh, god. Fuck! Fuck Taehyung! Fuck Si Hyuk! Why did nobody warn him?
No. Those lips were obscene! Who let this man out in public. Shit! Sweatshirt still had a hint of a smirk on his face as he held the straw between his teeth, and-
“Hey, man. Just letting you know you look fucking stupid with your mouth hanging open like that,” said the guy behind the counter, snapping Namjoon out of his small freak-out.
He whirled toward the barista and stared at him instead.
“You alright, there?” the barista asked. “Actually, don't answer that. I don't really care.”
After a moment of disbelief, Namjoon narrowed his eyes at the guy. His name tag read ‘Yoongi’.
“Yoongi, is it? You always talk to your customers like that?”
“Only when they're being pathetic losers.”
Namjoon opened and closed his mouth a few times, before he gathered himself enough to ask, “What happened to valuing the experience here?”
“I let you know you looked dumb, didn't I? Not everyone would bother with the effort. Also, first class experience doesn't equal first class service.”
“How does that make any sense?”
“Experience means memory. We’re memorable.”
“I call bullshit.”
“You would be correct,” the barista deadpanned and pulled out his phone, apparently losing interest in the conversation.
“What?”
“That was all bullshit. Truth is I don't give enough fucks to be polite.”
“You know, honesty is not always the best policy.”
Yoongi just shrugged, eyes not leaving the phone screen.
And this goes to show that Namjoon was a horrible judge of character. He honestly thought this punk was a kindred spirit for a moment this morning.
“Is Yoongi giving you a hard time?” a soft voice came from close beside him. He jumped slightly and whipped around to look.
Oh, shit.
It was Sweatshirt. Oh, fuck.
“You should play nice with the newbies, Yoongi. How are you going to get repeats?”
“Last time Boss played nice, we got stuck with you as a regular.”
“You’re welcome.”
“Not a compliment.”
“It's a matter of perspective.”
“I hate you.”
“You love me and you know it. Everyone loves me.”
Yoongi gave a squinty-eyed glare at the man and turned to Namjoon, “This was the idiot you were checking out. Consider this me judging your poor taste in men.”
Namjoon felt his face flush and just raised his coffee to his face for a lack of a better thing to do, when he felt the warm weight of a hand on his shoulder.
He looked over and found Sweatshirt leaning close.
“Aw, don't let that grouch get to you. If it makes you feel any better, I can't blame you for looking. I would check me out any day.”
He followed that up with a wink.
And then Namjoon, instead of taking a sip like he intended, proceeded to pour the entirety of the still (amazingly) hot coffee onto his own lap.
He was not ashamed to say he let out a blood-curdling scream.
There were too many other things to be ashamed of in the chaos following the initial disaster. A startled customer kicked over a table and the tell tale crash of plates filled the air, Si Hyuk all but flew to the back for first aid, and Namjoon had knocked over an entire row of stools in his hurry to stand and slap off the excess fiery liquid.
Much later, the shop was empty except for Si Hyuk, Yoongi, and Namjoon, who were all seated at the corner bench. Namjoon was holding two ice packs on his lap.
A hastily written sign taped on the door read, ‘Closed for emergency.’
The silence was overwhelming, until Si Hyuk finally broke it, “How the fuck?”
“Yeah,” Namjoon mumbled.
“No, how? What the fuck?”
“I know.”
“My shop is a mess.”
“I'm in pain.”
“What. The. Fuck.”
“Yeah.”
Yoongi, eyes still glued to his phone, which had been out since the start of this mess, decided to add, “Just so you know, this is going on instagram.”
“Yoongi, no,” Si Hyuk sighed.
“Yoongi, yes.”

It’s so difficult to imagine that you were a jikook shipper once? even though I’ve seen enough ex-jokers pjms😭 Kinda want to see you delusional era posts 💀
There are no delusional posts 🫡 all I talked about were moments that are out there for everyone to see and things they said, never tried to read between the lines or turn their words/actions into something else. Even while I still believed they were involved I used to say Jungkook was lacking as a partner, I would "debunk" moments and get annoyed at people's insane theories and numbers and all that.
Here are some posts tho if you're curious.
Okay there are more but tumblr won't let me add more links.
I just can't really call myself a jikooker because I no longer think they're together and their relationship is a friendship just as with everyone else in the group. I like minimoni or jihope as friends too and not for that I'm calling myself a jihoper (?

Quick Announcement 💜
Tumblr media
I have 2 asks in my inbox now (that I will answer soon! I swear!) about JK and moments with his other hyungs. Questions about times he has or hasn't dropped honorifics with them and times he has or hasn't gotten flustered and "pushed" them away. I fully intent to answers these with actual moments of him doing these things with his other members outside of Jimin.
Tumblr media
And for the reason for this announcement is that lately I have had multiple people get upset or unhappy about me "promoting" these other moments. Or getting insanely confused about me shipping these other duos together. Or saying I'm giving jikook space away to other pairings. I've gotten anons about this, I've gotten comments and dms about this, I've had people send in anons to OTHER BLOGS about this. Lol I want to make it very clear, that:
1) I don't ship anyone and the ONLY duo I think could be more than friends is Jimin and JK
2) If Jikook are together, I think they are monogamous and aren't in a poly or open relationship. Even though we don't know any of those things for sure
3) This IS a jikook blog, most of my posts WILL be jikook focused. But before any of that, it's MY blog. This is first and foremost a safe space for ME and for all of us. Most of my posts are over jikook, but if I want to spent an entire day talking about taekook and their moments, or yoonmin and theirs, or sope and theirs, I will do so. If I want to spend a day talking about books and not bts, I will do so. You choose to be here and follow my posts. No one is forcing you to be here. Lol please unfollow if this is something that bothers you.
Tumblr media
Essentially, this is my space and imma do with it what I want 💜 Most of you i know already know this, and I think you even appreciate the way I talk about everyone here and don't ignore Jikooks relationships outside of each other. But there are always the select few.... Lol especially for some reason when it comes to certain duos. So since it has been happening ALOT recently, before I threw more wood on the fire that is "stormblessed is a poly agenda spreader" with these next asks, I would clear the air just a bit!
Tumblr media
Also, please don't worry about it bothering me. I promise the "storm poly agenda spreader" and the people getting pissy over what I post really does not bother me. It often just gives me a good laugh. I just wanted to be extra clear about it going forward. Although I'm sure it'll still happen. Lmao 🤣
Thank you. I love you guys 💜💜

Do you think Jikook could be engaged? or get engaged soon. If we say they’ve been together since 2017. That’s 4/5 years together in a solid relationship.
People have engagements for years.
I know many queer couples get engaged in countries where it is not legal for marriage yet and wait until it is, if they do not want to move to be able to do so, and are normally one of the first to get hitched the days after it’s legalised.
I just feel it would be a romantic commitment they would want to make to each other, the closest to being married as they can get.
I’m saying this a queer person observing a long standing possible queer relationship of two strong romantics who take each other on trips and bring show and travel the world for each other.
I don’t see that kind of commitment being outside the realm of possibility. Especially with the way they love each other.
I don't know anon. Is it possible, sure. Just like it's also possible we are all insane and they aren't together. One of those definitely seems more possibly then the other though. Lol
Here is my thing. I have talked before about how I think something changed for them in 2019. How I think it was a year of reaffirmation for them commitment wise. And honestly, what is an engagement other then exactly that? Promising that commitment to each other. I talk about that dynamic shift I noticed in 2019 here:
Maybe that was more just a decision they made together and in 2021 they have since decided that yes, we are going to consider each other engaged to be married if it ever becomes legal in SK and the band is disbanded by that point. Maybe that it why they both just seem so smitten and happy lately. I don't know. It's hard to give an opinion on dynamic shifts over the year until we have significantly more content to work with and to see. We still have so much more to see, so much behind content we haven't gotten a chance to look at. So much more to come from the entire year, not just the next few months. But I'll definitely be keeping dynamic shifts in mind as we start seeing this content more from 2021 for sure.
Tumblr media
There are all kinds of theories people can make as to what caused each of these dynamic shifts in their relationship together. In the end. We simply cannot know unless they share with us. All we can know is that something started to shift in 2015. Something changed for them in 2016. There was another shift at the end of 2017. I definitely noticed a dynamic shift in 2019 as well. Are we in the middle of another one? Again, it's hard to know until we get more content. 🥰 but I agree. That kind of commitment definitely is not impossible. I disagree with people who say they would get married abroad. I've talked about that before to on my masterlist, but an agreement to be "engaged" or just engaged indefinitely, absolutely a possibility. If it happened or not, we can't really know though.
Thanks for the ask 💜 Have a good day!
